Got my eyebrows done by Brianne, she did such a good job cleaning them up. I would definitely recommend!!

My visits to European Wax Center (EWC) are quite rare, like once every year or maybe even two. I've noticed once per year, they always put out a promo where you can get 50% off a new service, where "new service" is defined as any service that you have not received within the past 12 months. In this most recent case, I hadn't gone in two years, so really, any service would have been considered "new" to me. I went with the Brazilian Wax, which I did two years ago, and also tacked on an eyebrow wax because when in Rome. Or somewhere else in Europe I suppose? lol There are only two wax specialists at the Long Beach Towne Center location who can do Brazilian Wax on men: Millie and Brianne. I actually had Millie as my waxing specialist on a visit back in 2022, and while I thought she was good enough for me to recommend to others, I wanted to see how Brianne would compare. Immediately after I made my appointment, I gave them a call to see if the 50% off could be applied to the Brazilian Wax. Terrace (sp?) over the phone fielded my call and, initially, stated that since I had gotten the Brazilian Wax before, I couldn't use the 50% off on that. However, she immediately retracted her statement before I could say something when she realized that my last Brazilian Wax was way more than 12 months ago. I had forgotten about this until the evening before, but there are some check-in forms you need to fill out prior to your arrival, or if you neglected to do so, I'm sure they would have asked you to fill them out before your appointment. I arrived about 20 minutes before my scheduled appointment time and spent the next 10 minutes exploring the adjacent businesses. When I came in, Aaliyah at the front desk greeted me by name. What?! I suppose it's because there aren't too many male customers of European Wax Center, but that was kind of cool, yet also a little creepy lol. It took 5 to 10 minutes before Brianne called me back into one of the rooms. I personally would have preferred to do the eyebrow wax first since that seemed to be easier, but she said we were going to do the Brazilian Wax first instead. I had the Brazilian Wax done a couple of times before, so I kind of knew what to expect, but man, it still hurt, even though I was expecting it to hurt a little more. Brianne wasn't bad, but I didn't really get good vibes from her since her demeanor was quite sassy during my appointment. She also didn't really give me any warning as to when she would pull the wax off my skin, and when she was doing my eyebrow wax, I legit thought she was going to poke one of my eyes despite her telling me to relax my eyes. But nevertheless, she did a good job of waxing. Before she took me back to the lobby, she reminded me that I shouldn't exfoliate for a couple of days after my wax, and she also asked if I'd like to purchase any products prior to leaving, to which I declined. When I came back to the front to pay for my services, I was about to put my card into the reader, but Aaliyah said they had my card on file, so I didn't even need to take my card out of my wallet. Interesting, but I also hope they don't charge me for something I didn't approve beforehand. Actually, they did schedule an appointment for exactly four weeks later at the exact same time at the exact same location. Now that, I would not approve since this was my rare Wednesday afternoon off, and with how my schedule has been this year, I doubt I would have been able to make it, in time at least. So I simply told Aaliyah to cancel since I myself wouldn't even know when would be the next available time, though truthfully, I was never planning to go for the remainder of the year unless I get another discount lol. Let's face it, waxing is pretty pricey, but a good experience to try if you haven't! I left, but then returned shortly when I noticed I didn't get an email receipt that confirmed my payment. I asked Aaliyah, and she was gracious enough to send not one, but two copies of my email receipt; they just came in rather late. The day after my appointment, I received an email from EWC giving some tips on what to do and what not to do after the appointment. Besides the unauthorized future appointment, which I did confirm online was no longer booked, the receptionists at the front desk deserve 5 stars. But neither Millie nor Brianne impressed me enough to want to do a Brazilian Wax here again, unless they hire a different wax specialist by next year. I think 4 stars is fair, but I would likely choose a different location next time. read more

I am submitting a complaint regarding an incident at the European Wax Center located at 7575 Carson Blvd, Long Beach, CA 90808. I came into the store because I was attempting to make a waxing appointment. I had tried to schedule online, but the confirmation email was never received, so I walked in for assistance. While I was in the store attempting to make the appointment, my son urgently needed to use the restroom. He politely asked the front desk employee, but she refused and said it was "store policy" that only customers could use the restroom. I explained that I was in the process of becoming a paying customer and was actively trying to schedule an appointment. I asked if my son could please use the restroom while I completed the booking, but she continued to deny the request and said he could only use it after the appointment was made. When I asked for her name, she refused to provide it. I also asked for a manager and was told that no managers were on site. When I expressed that the situation felt discriminatory, the employee laughed. This experience was upsetting and unprofessional. I request a review of this incident and clarification of your policies. read more

For my first wax experience, I would highly recommend this location and the staff that I had the opportunity to meet that day. I came out with my natural shape of my eyebrow completely gone... the lady thinned them out way too much, hacked my natural eyebrow shape but completely forgot to pluck the top. Her name is SHAE. I've been coming to this location for years, but yesterday took the cake for the worst and most painful experience ever. I had Viviana who was suppose to doing my underarms and Brazilian wax(which I didn't get) and honestly, it was like watching a first timer fumble through a wax job. She kept getting wax stuck and tugging so roughly on my underarms , I half expected her to ask if I was okay. She didn't, of course. Maybe she thought pain was part of the "experience"? Then, halfway through, she suddenly informs me that because I was "late" (I arrived within the grace period) she could only do one service. And did she ask which one I preferred? Nope. She just decided for me, because who needs customer input, right? Whats crazy is when I was undressing, she literally confirmed I was getting both the Brazilian and underarms. And guess what? Check-in confirmed it too. So I guess being "late" magically was a problem midway through my torture session. Honestly, it felt like she just didn't want to do the Brazilian because she probably realized halfway through she had no idea what she was doing. This whole experience was painful, disrespectful, and unprofessional. I'm beyond done with this location and won't be wasting my money here again. read more

Thank you Alisa!!!!! I usually come here to occasionally get my eyebrows waxed and just go to whoever for a last min appointment. Everyone I've been to before has done a good job. I went recently to get my legs waxed for the first time and I had seen in other reviews that Alisa was the one to go to. Those reviews were spot on! She was amazing. I was very nervous about pain and she was extremely personable and friendly and talked to me to take my mind off of the pain during the waxing. She's like a great friend you haven't seen in awhile and finally meet to catch up. That's her vibe. I will be back and I can't wait to book with Alisa again. This place is clean, easy to find and there's a ton a parking. The only flaw is they go really hard on trying to get you to do automatic appointments, which I find annoying but other people might find helpful. It's very easy to book online so I wish they weren't as pushy trying to make your next appointment for you. read more

A recent reviewer mentioned only Tori or Millie know what they're doing at this location. While I don't know Tori, please don't go with Millie for any kind of personal wax procedure. I had a service done with her today & it was very clear that she was in an annoyed mood when I entered the room. The service was so rushed & painful. No guidance or gentle care whatsoever! It had been a while since my last wax so I came in knowing it would hurt more, but she did nothing to put me at ease. My appointment was a little over a week ago and I'm now reconsidering my return visit. While my waxer was friendly and puts you at ease, unfortunately the technique resulted in a lot of broken vs cleanly pulled hair given how much stubble has come back already. I'm a little disappointed because my previous one (done elsewhere) was done so immaculately that all my hair came back fine vs. blunt. I will continue to look for someone who lays down small strips at a time instead of large strips that can cause breakage. read more

If I could give this location a minus zero I would!!! Worst Service Ever!!! I booked a waxing appointment for FF, Bikini & Legs right before my trip to have a fresh wax during my 2.5 weeks vacation, flying next day. I went shopping at Citadel outlets that day and drove all the way to LONG BEACH to my confirmed appointment on Sunday. I arrive to the location, I lay on the bed and mention the 3 services I was booked for, tech says she is not confident waxing the baby hairs on my forehead because she has never done it before. I leave the room and ask front desk person Jasmin to assign a different tech, they only had two techs and the second tech was completely booked. I asked for a different location, I said I would wait until the second tech was available but no solution was being offered. Jasmin person at the front desk was extremely sketchy about giving her name, she first said she was Maritza but she end up having to call Manager Maritza who was on vacation in Mexico to help her find a solution for the inability of the tech to perform services. I end up leaving without any services performed on Sunday and had to come back first thing Monday morning to have services done. I returned from vacation and followed up with "Manager Maritza" and she offered me a silly $10.00 dollar discount on a future appointment. Not sure how 10 bucks can compensate all the inefficiency and mediocre services, particularly when being a loyal customer. read more

I won't be back here. I had a great waxer for months- Brittany, but then she left. My last two appointments I chose "any specialist" and each time I got stuck with Brittish. Thanks to these complete idiot girls my appointment was canceled, and both the host and aesthetician were snarky! I had a 715 appointment and called at 7:15 to ask where they were located because I was in the wrong area of the parking lot. I was then told I had a nine minute grace period, i showed up within six minutes of my appointment, but somehow they had no record of me because "someone must have cancelled it". On top of that, I was asked to fill out a first time client form when I have also been here before, only for the aesthetician to tell me that she has another appointment at 7:30 and would have to rush my service. Rude employees and people who cancel appointments for no valid reason, then act like I'm somehow in the wrong and made me feel like they didn't want me there. What a way to treat your customers. It was my first time getting a Brazilian and the waxer helped me have a great time! They were keeping up with my conversations while I was getting waxed. Everyone there is so professional and very sweet. You can also tip your waxer at the end of your session. They also schedule your next appointment a month in advanced and you're able to change it if you have any plans. The place is VERY clean and they will send you to a private room once it's your session. I like how they cleaned up before I laid on the bed! read more

The workers at the front and the ladies who do the waxing are all pleasant. Every appointment I have had so far has been quick, efficient, and with minimal pain. I had to deduct a couple of stars because at least 5 times now they have prebooked me without telling me. I would always only find out the day before these prebooked appointments, because I'd get emails reminding me about appointments I never made. They also always prebook me when I am leaving my appointment, and I always tell them that I am not available that day, so I will book my next appointment online. It's very problematic that they flat out ignore what I say every time I leave (I will book my next appointment online) and book me for an appointment without telling me anyway. I do not have a super open flexible schedule because of work, so it is quite a nuisance to always have to call them to cancel these prebooked appointments EVERY time. I have also asked them, on several occasions, to not prebook me. I always get the "of course, I will make a note on your file." And the prebookings still happen. Every. Single. Time. More context: I wax on a less-frequent schedule because I have had a course of laser hair removal before - I do not need to be waxed nearly as often as others. So, I'm not being a hairy Karen; I do come in at appropriate time intervals. EWC, please do something about your extremely overaggressive prebooking!! read more

ALISA is your girl!!! Whether it's your first time or experienced, SHE IS THE ONE! I wrote a review about her last year when it was my very first time getting a Brazilian and she was just as amazing! My second time coming here though, about two months after my first visit, I wasn't able to get an appointment with her because she was so booked. So I just walked in. Big mistake...I got some random girl and she was horrible. It was such a horrible experience which was the whole reason why I didn't come back after a year. Anyway, I worked up the courage to come back but this time scheduled it with ALISA and I'm glad I did. Lesson learned...only sticking with her from now on. I was going to give this establishment one star, but I'm kind, so I'm giving you two stars. My specialist was nice, but she did not do a good job. She was asking me many questions about my life, and I was a bit annoyed by that. On top of that, she left a piece in my ear, and it was hurting so badly. The other specialist came into the room and pulled that piece out, but that caused a lot of bleeding in my ear. So basically I left the place with a bleeding ear. It was a nightmare. I had been going to an esthetician for about 20 years. In that time I tried other esthetician's and had very bad experiences. Even though my esthetician location has been more than 30 miles from my home I still remain going in fear of having a bad experience I have seen the European Waxing all around and wonder about the service. I tend to do research on a products or services to get insight. In doing my research I thought it was cool that your first visit is free. This feature gave motivation to give them a chance. When I looked at the European Wax center near me it is had not open yet. I still was able to find one near me (Hawaiian Garden's) I still had a little apprehension about try a new esthetician. Yet, it was very easy to make my appointment. Your first visit in complimentary either free or discounted depending on your need. This was definitely motivation in giving them a try. The day of, I signed in. The receptionist was very professional. She informed me the the esthetician named Jenny would be seeing me today. Jenny came out and introduced herself and told me she would be right with me. We went into the room,she prompted me to get prepped.She verbally walked me through the steps. I was still a bit nervous. She talked with me the whole time. She allowed me to ask questions. And she was able to answer them all. I felt at ease. She also informed me of care and after care steps. That I had no knowledge of over the years of patronizing my other esthetician.I was so thankful and glad of how well of a job she did along with her expertise. The staff is friendly, esthetician is awesome. What sucks you ask? The owner still requires masking! He/she/they, haha should probably read some studies regarding masking and that masking doesn't work. Furthermore, their employees should have their masks up all the time if they're going to be enforcing this ridiculousness. Walked in with 2 employees behind the desk. Both had their masks pulled down below their chins, but then tell me that I need to wear a mask! Wow! The hypocrisy is thick there. Mask mandates are over. I gotta say my waxing person was great! She was very sweet. What I didn't like is the reception who booked my appointment. I asked if I had any credits left and she said I did I have 3 bikini wax on my account. I told her I would like to book a wax then and use my credit. She booked me a Brazilian wax and when I went to pay she said my credit was only for reg bikini line. I was upset because I felt I got swindled. The reception who booked my appointment should have told me she booked me for something my credits couldn't cover and my cost for the service. They charged me $76 and I was so upset because I only wanted what I had already paid for in a package...at least not be surprised that I would be charged. This is very unethical read more

Walked in at 10:24 for a 10:15 appointment said I had missed the 9 minute cut off I said I would wait to see if there are any no shows. 2 staff ladies walked in at 10:36 with Starbucks milkshakes 10:50 - so far not one customer has walked in or out. 2 workers doing nothing asked for manager and franchise owner they told me no they wouldn't tell me. read more

Worst experience went to get my eyebrows and tint done left with half of my eyebrows there so thin and the tint looked so bad there were spots with no tint. I swear their admin/reception is the worst I have dealt with. The only reason I even go here is to use up the pass I got. They always mess up my appointments or have me waiting 10-15 minutes after my appointment time. This is literally the third or fourth time!! If it was once, I get it mistakes happen. But it happens again and again. I regret getting a pass here, I would definitely not renew. I had an appointment today with Jenny, they sent me a CONFIRMATION TEXT. When I showed up, they said they didn't have me booked with her and booked me in with whoever was available. The actual service was ok, but everyone knows how hard it is to find THE waxer for you. I went thru two or three until I found my waxer. I paid for a pass because I wanted the consistency. How frustrating. I still tip the waxers since it's not their fault. read more
