horrible - my Son got his eyebrows waxed and they totally burned his eyelids. He has scabs now on his eyelids and is embarrassed to even go to school. I'm not the type of person to complain, but I called this morning just to let them know that the wax used in that one room must be overly hot because this has never happened before to him. He only gets a little redness when he gets it done. I called to complain this morning and the receptionist said the manager is coming in momentarily. This was at 9 AM. six hours later and she has not even called. Horrible customer service you would think she'd be worried about burning someone's eyelids . they charged me $27 read more

I have been coming here for many years and so has my daughter. Recently my daughter was waxed by Bethany and she burned her forehead with first degree burns, her lip and eyelids. We had to go to the Dr right after she was in so much pain! I wrote twice to have them contact me and never heard from the owner. Very upsetting. read more

I spent about 2 months in NJ, and during that time, I wanted to get a leg wax. I didn't know of any other wax places in the area, so I decided to give European Wax Center a try. Booking the appointment was pretty seamless. Since I was a first-time customer, they gave me a discount. When I arrived for my appointment, I was immediately greeted. I checked in and sat down until they were ready for me. Eventually, I was taken back to a room to begin the wax process. One thing to note is that they use hard wax at this establishment. That was a first for me. Everything went pretty well during my appointment. I'm not going to lie, I would definitely prefer to visit a more local, small business, but European Wax Center does come in clutch when you need it. read more

Without fail...I always leave European wax center having to tweeze a million hairs the waxer didn't care to take five seconds to get. I always check the reviews and schedule with a waxer that has a good reputation, and I am still always disappointed. They have so many appointments in an hour they rush through with you. My waxer did ONE strip and called it a day. Did not go back for touch ups or tweeze at all. THE WHOLE ENTIRE TIME the waxer is trying to convince me to add more services...buy this serum...buy the new 26 dollar tweezers we have....you're not even doing the services that I asked you to do! Bottom line is European wax techs will NOT go the extra mile to make the customer happy. They want their 20% tip and for you to be out. From now on I will be paying the extra ten dollars to go to 79 Beauty Company and get waxed by Alyssa. read more

I will never go anywhere but here strictly because of Jennifer. I've been seeing her and only her for almost two years. Jen is such sweetheart on top of being fantastic at what she does. She was great with me when I was a first timer and always makes me feel comfortable. Can't imagine going to anyone else. She is the only reason I give this location 5 stars. That being said, the front desk really needs some improvements. I find most of the girls at the front desk emit that they just don't want to be there. The last few times I've gone has been someone with glasses and she is just kind of flat and pushy. Have yet to get a smile from her. I have been a patron for two years in various locations with only good things to say until yesterday. The Aberdeen NJ is turning away healthcare workers due to the exposure to covid patients.As a nurse I'm sick to my stomach at the thought of being are isolated for taking care of the sick during this pandemic. Just a heads up to all essential workers! Consider changing the questioners to include for essential workers to be: Have you had any unprotected exposure to a covid person. Only good thing to say about my experience is that they accommodated my requested appointment time. Went in for eyebrow waxing & came out with two different looking eyebrows. I had the pleasure of speaking to Michaela on the phone was an absolute doll and more then patient to listen to my concerns in making an appointment . I would suggest finding a local lady then this chain. they hire anyone. the lady burnt me, and also pulled hairs the wrong direction. the room is also a little uncomfortable because its way to bright I understand they need to see. never been to a place with this odd lighting didn't like it. and they are very expensive for a horrible experience. read more

I've been coming here ever since I moved to NJ in 2014. I always get the package to be cost effective. The waxers are very friendly. Sometimes the staff tries to push their products but it's bc they make a commission. Clean and punctual with their appointments. read more

Not sure what took me so long to review this place but my experiences here have been FANTASTIC! There is plenty of parking in the shopping mall its located in. KUDOS! As soon as I walked in the receptionists were very polite and greeted me right away. They gave me the whole break down on how there waxing works, what they use, there packages and products and just made me feel more comfortable and relax because we all know we get those goosebumps and twitching from just hearing that sound of the first strip being pulled off - BUT GUESS WHAT.. THEY DONT USE STRIPS!! WOOHOO! I made an appointment which was right on schedule with Alyssa and she was such a doll, professional and made me feel very comfortable. I loved the wax she did on me and I knew I was going to come back! She prepped me up and the room was super clean which I loved. The temperature in the room and even the wax was just right and the wax had no scent, its hypoallergenic and she used a fresh new stick each time and there was no over tweezing at all. I love the fact they don't use no more strips, it just felt so much more comfortable, quick and it was so much less pain - THANK YOU E.W.C!! Of course I ended up buying some products and even a package because I was so impressed with the business, and most of all the co-workers because thats what makes the most out of your own experience. Nothing like meeting a professional who makes you feel welcomed and comfortable in a whole new waxing world which we know can be a scary one. First of all all the wax specialists that helped me were nice. I will not be going to matawan location anymore due to poor receptionist service. This is the time I went Sep 03, 2022 at 2:15 PM​. Receptionist locked the door to eat lunch( nothing wrong with that- to eat lunch, we all get it and sometimes need to recharge the batteries) but when I arrived my assumption was that they were closed . So I knocked on the door and had to wait a minute. Receptionist walked up to the door unlocked the door with an attitude. I asked her if they are closed her reply was - no I was on my lunch. She didn't greet me nor apologize to the fact that I almost walked away. My specialist came out as she was sanitized the room for me and was the sweetest person. When I was done I passed that rude front desk person she didn't say anything. So Ieft. Minute later she calls me and tells me that I owe money for the service and I have to come back to pay . I told her that I purchased a package and it should be registered in the system. She took a minute to figure out . Again no apologies. I don't know what she has going on in her personal life but she can't treat people this way. I wish I remembered her name. read more

I've been going to this location for years (at least 6) and it was always a pleasure to work with them. Everything changed... this past year girls upfront are simply unprofessional and border line rude on the phone. Which I couldn't care less until they started to "forget" my appointments, schedule on the wrong date, not calling the day before, and canceling ones without a notice.... enough is enough... I finally snapped after calling them this morning to confirm appointment I had for TODAY and heard it was canceled... again without a call!!!! I have 3 small kids, it's hard enough to find time for myself as is. I did raise my voice at the lady on the phone (which I'm not proud of and sorry) but it's been long time coming. She told me they'd called everyone - I checked every call since last week - no missed calls!! I even checked call log on my Verizon!!! Don't tell me it's my fault when you messed up!!! They canceled my previous appointment without letting me know but it was pandemic and I sure didn't expect them to keep it. But when they reopened no one notified their clients they canceled on (every other business made sure to accommodate canceled appointments first). Again I said nothing. Last year they forgot to confirm my appointment twice!!! Called me 20 min before and asked me if I can come in... then I always schedule Tuesday or Thursday- no other options! - but a girl up front would still schedule for another day 3 times!!!! Common!!! I started checking calendar at the desk before I leave. I can go on but it's been too long as is. I won't be coming back for sure. read more

Tried this place out for a year, and I'm going back to my old wax place even though it's in New York City. The wax: I don't notice a huge difference. And the products are maybe a little better than regular moisturizer and a good loofah. So I came here for the proximity to my house and lack of other trustworthy, affordable facilities. How I became a repeat customer after my first experience is beyond me. It was awful, since the woman barely explained why thick blue wax was forcibly pressed into my skin. But, it was close to my house so I went again when I was in a rush. Who your esthetician is will dramatically change your experience. I've been lightly burned, have run super late, and one woman I have no idea how she has a license after she tried waxing my knees no less than 5 times and I had to ask her to stop the skin was getting damaged. I'm fairly sure most of those people no longer work there. Everyone I've had lately has been okay. When I did find someone I really really liked, both for services and personality, she left and I wasn't informed until at my appointment. There is another woman I would go to again, but our hours rarely work out. Everyone seems relatively inexperienced and relies heavily on the product doing a good job. I have sensitive skin. This product doesn't really help that. None of them do. But I'm constantly dodging the up-selling, product selling convos. I've been going for a year. If I want something, I'll ask. My place in NYC? Amazingly fast, less painful, and more friendly service overall since it's not a corporate script read to you. Largely unimpressed with European Wax Center. read more

I had never been to a European Wax Center until recently, and the experience I had at this location went above and beyond by expectations. From the minute I walked in I felt welcomed and very comfortable thanks to the super-nice front desk staff. One of the girls took the time to come sit with me and explain all the services and packages they offer, as well as how to add money to my account by scheduling in advance, recommending friends, etc. The atmosphere is upscale and inviting, and the waxing room was very clean. When it's time for your wax you will be shown through a glass door that opens to a hallway of private rooms. The waxing process was quick, the technician was friendly and professional, and the pain was much less than I anticipated. After coming here, I wouldn't want to go anywhere else for a wax. I have been going to European wax center for years . I love Taylor she has been doing my eyebrows for a while now . She does an amazing job and always so sweet . But every time I walk in the girls at the front desk are snobby , always gossiping , talking about their personal life . Very unprofessional & not to mention there is always a new face at the front desk or someone in training ... wonder why . Unfortunately today made me realize I will never go back there again . When I called to make my appointment I asked the girl how do healthcare workers get a free wax and she told me just bring in a form of ID . As I walked in I had to answer questions about covid . I was asked if " I'v been exposed "I replied "yes". I wasn't going To lie I had my nursing badge right on me , (I was exposed months ago ). next question I was asked "have I had covid?" I replied "no I was negative ". I was told to wait outside . I'm not sure if it was the manager or whoever it was she was wearing all black with glasses came out so rude . Telling me that since I have been exposed within the LAST 14 DAYS I can't get waxed . I told her no one ever said "have I been exposed within 14 DAYS " I was just asked a simple "was I ever exposed" . And I was exposed Months ago. Maybe the employees should not skip out on words and or Learn how to read from the questionnaire . Everyone is so scared about covid all girls at the front desk NOT wearing a mask and when telling me I can't get waxed the lady had no mask and standing so close to me . This one bad experience I will never return and if the lady wasn't so rude and explained it nicer I would have gladly rescheduled. You lost a loyal customer. read more

I've been coming to this location for a few years for bikini wax and the girls here are great. Kait and Megan are wonderful. Very professional, make you feel super comfortable in an otherwise uncomfortable situation (lol), and they try and make it as quick and painless as they can. They're skilled in what they do, and don't have to do repeat strips which is important since you can further irritate the skin. I would 100% recommended! read more
