First time here, and I should have gone a LONG time ago. I struggle with back hair, even with a specialty shaving tool it is very difficult. I never considered wax because of the cost. Times and priorities change.... I decided to give it a try. I had my full back and shoulders done, for just over $100 not including tip. The appointment was easy to book online. Set up an account, book the time, you pay when the service is complete. I booked both services with Cassandra. She was superb! The girl at the reception counter was very sweet too. There were some parts that did hurt quite a bit, but it is over quick. Once the was is pulled off, the pain only lingers for a few seconds. She didn't laugh at me while I was spewing a stream of curse words every time a section was pulled. She may have had to go over some spots twice - sorry! The soothing gel treatment at the end really cools the whole area off. The whole thing was over in 30 minutes, maybe a little longer. Now I feel a bit less embarrassed taking my shirt off at the beach or pool, and no worries about the reactions when a woman touches my back. Definitely would recommend. read more

I had to switch my location because this particular one has terrible service. I found one in shelton that is wonderful, brand new, immaculate, and most of all all inclusive and welcoming. My wax specialist Britney did a great job. There was no awkward first time jitters. I went right into the butterfly position and she waxed every inch of hair she could find. I was so happy because she was fast and efficient and had a lovely disposition! The Manager at this location Fay Alili was simply the best. I was greeted by her welcomed in and she even went out her way to tell me about the new location and inform me about some products. I bought a few items and we chatted until my appointment. It was sooo refreshing! And they are dog friendly!! I found my new home and if I need to bring my dogter she is welcome! read more

I was thinking if my last visit was not good, I would not come back to EWC (especially with the recent poor reviews). HOWEVER, I had Aaliyah today and she was great! We all know that the quality of waxing work is mostly determined by the amount of pain and desired result. Well, she was fast and minimized the pain with her great waxing skills. I had an appointment for 5:00. On my way over, there was an accident on the highway making my ETA 5 minutes late. I called to let them know. I arrived at 5:09 pm. They said that since I was more than 10 minutes late (not true) my appointment was cancelled. The waxer had her stuff packed up like she was about to leave- very unprofessional and clearly just because she wanted to get out early. I won't be coming back. read more

I had an appointment for 1:15. Someone arrived at 1:08 and my waxer took that client. It was then 1:32 and I was still waiting for my appointment. I had a lot to do and these services are expensive. They should have asked me to reschedule instead of having me sit there while the receptionist read a book and played on her phone. I was going to buy the 700 wax pass but I wouldn't because I was so annoyed that I was left there and ignored. I booked an appointment online over a week ago. The day before my appointment, they call me to tell me their online portal often shows appointments that are not available, and that I should have called. They said they wouldn't have time to refill the wax and had to cancel my appointment. 1) I booked over a week ago, why did I not get a call until the day before? 2) why have an online portal if it shouldn't be used? How should I have known to call? This was the day before I left on a vacation, so I had no time to book anywhere. They did not make an effort to squeeze me in after their mistake, not mine. If I could give this place no stars I would. Horrible wax center. Referred by friend who go here and went for first time wax and had a wonderful esthetician so I purchase a wax pass to continue going. The woman leaves after my next visit. From there on I had girls who were barbaric and had no clue what they were doing. I left there in extreme pain I would complain and then the front desk would agree I shouldn't be in pain and set me up with another girl for next time. For nearly 8 months I went there. Then I found a wonderland esthetician who opened up her own place near my house. Had a Brazilian today, but let me just say that my vagina looks worse now than it did to begin with. I don't even know her name because she never introduced herself. Rude. First of all, she stared me down while I undressed, which was awkward and unprofessional to say the least. She didn't ask me how I wanted it, and just began without warning. And she didn't explain anything she was doing, even though I had informed her that I was new to this. At the end, she didn't give me any mirror to look at it with, or any cream to put on so it wasn't sticky. When I was finally able to look at it, I noticed patches of hair and wax still in random places. I guess I'm gonna be picking the excess wax off now for a Brazilian years. read more

I've been going to EWC's for 10 years and I just had the WORST wax of my life. It was my first time at this location so I did a walk in because EWC is always trustworthy so I figured what could go wrong? Well, trust me. DO NOT SEE ERIN. She just botched my brows. I asked to keep the same shape (as it's taken a long time to get my brows to how I had them) and just do a clean up. Well, I knew it was going to be bad once she started putting the wax on. She was so sloppy with the wax. I feel like she wasn't even paying attention to what she was doing. She didn't even tweeze the smaller hairs off (honestly thank goodness). The hand mirror was not offered to me, I had to get up and look in the wall mirror. My eyebrows are SO thin and the end of my left brow is gone. There was also wax residue on my forehead and IN MY HAIR to which she said "oh haha sorry sometimes I don't even realize it's there.....UMMM it shouldn't be in my hair to begin with! I just got home and really looked at my brows some more and I'm so upset, they are uneven and look awful. I've never had an experience like this at EWC. read more

First, this place is very new so don't look at the number of views and think there is an issue. The manager, Cortney... AWESOME! Highly professional, very friendly, and really wants to please all customers. She listens to any concerns or comments and makes necessary changes quickly! It's truly amazing. I've had the following waxers: Katie, Leilany, Stephanie, and Dominique! Literally they are all amazing!!! I've been going to EWC for 6 years. All the waxers + manager are so professional, location is clean, music selection is great (haha)! You can't go wrong with any waxer. Just ask your waxer to show you the mirror before you're done. Sometimes they forget, but they're so nice so just ask and if you see something and let them know, they quickly fix it! read more

Unfortunately I have to agree with some of the negative reviews. I SWORE by this place and my waxer, Katelyn. She was gifted with her work and I would've given this place 5 a couple months ago. However they have lost many good waxers recently (including Katelyn) and my brows, that I have been so patient with growing, was ruined by the "best waxers" they have left. She didn't listen to my requests, insisted she knew what would be best then waxed and shaped the way she wanted. Months of growing out to the brows I wanted was destroyed in 5 minutes. I have 2 visits left on my wax pass and will forfeit them rather than having my brows butchered again. The place is clean with pleasant front desk staff but walls are thin and conversations can be heard in waxing suites. read more

Absolutely terrible customer service from the receptionist with the large boobs I believe her name is either Krista or Kayla something like that. Everytime I come into the salon (which is often because I'm a regular) she always has the most ignorant & uninviting facial expression. Almost as if she is trying to shove me back out the door with her eyeballs. I'm always relieved when I don't see her behind the desk during my appointments. But aside from her usual unpleasant energy, the breaking point for me was when she was discussing sexual explicit plans she had after work with a co-worker whilst I and multiple other customers waited to her serviced. I went to EWC for the first time last week and had a great experience. I called prior to verify pricing and details, the staff was super nice. They were equally kind while I was there. The wax at EWC is truly unique (I figured it was hype) and makes the unbearableness of a brazilian as good as it can be. I had my appt with Morgan who was very sweet, professional and informative. I felt comfortable and like I was in good hands since she explained everything so well. I booked my next appt with her and definitely recommend! A bonus that the first wax is half off (or they advertise the cheaper ones as free) so the brazilian was only 25$ ! read more

I have to say in my many years of waxing, kylee is the best I have come across. I had full legs and a Brazilian and it has been a while so it was a lot. She was very precise and very fast. Her quickness made it painless. I couldn't be happier with her work, and she is such a pleasant girl. I wish I could give more stars that's how happy I am. European wax center completely ruined my eyebrows. She must have accidentally used too much wax or spread it too far because it literally looked like the outside third of my right eyebrow got shaved off. There was NO hair left. Worst part is she didn't even own up to her mistake, she handed me the mirror without saying anything, pretending everything was fine. I said this looks terrible what happened?! I could tell she didn't know what to say and she still pretended as if it wasn't a big deal. I then got my bikini line and inner thigh waxed, which went fine (except a few days later I noticed some hairs along the bikini line that were missed but whatever.) I paid and left holding back tears. When I got to my car I looked in the mirror and realized it was even worse than I thought and couldn't hold back the tears. My eyebrows got butchered right before leaving for a vacation. I went back inside and said I'm sorry I tried not to make a big deal about it but my eyebrow is completely ruined and I shouldn't have paid for this. The lady at the desk agreed it looked "a little uneven" which is the understatement of the century. See the photos attached. I wouldn't CRY if they were just a little uneven. She said she couldn't refund my credit card but she'd have a manager call me to do it. I never got a call, so I called them back a few days later and spoke to a manager who refunded me (only for the cost of the eyebrows not the $80+ I spent on everything including tip that day.) She asked if I wanted to be refunded for the tip and I said you know what I feel awful doing that but I'm going to say yes please because of how upset I've been about this. She then realized I tipped in cash and had to "ask the owner what to do" and call me back. I never got a call back. I had to purchase expensive eyebrow growth serum and now two months later ITS STILL NOT GROWING BACK IN THAT SPOT. Every week that passes I get more and more mad and upset. I'm even considering tattooing or micro blading my brows now because they look so awful. I am now going to an amazing salon in Westport called The Waxing Spot. They MEASURE your brows and draw in a plan before waxing to assure everything is even and looks good. Because they actually care about how you look and feel when you leave. Only wish I knew of this place sooner before my awful experience with European wax center- it would have saved me my right eyebrow and a lot of frustration. read more

【Horrible experience】This place has a nine minute late policy. If you can't wait for your customer for more than ten minutes, why would you let your customer wait for 25 minutes? I came here with my friend to get the service together. We had an reservation and expect to be done within 30 minutes, my friend went in but I'm still waiting after 25 minutes. It's a waste of time and I asked for refund for all the services that I already purchased (I purchased four different services each four times). I'm not commenting this as a new guest, but a regular. And I explained how disappointed I'm to wait here. The front desk still asked me if I want to purchase more services? I don't know if she understand what I'm saying. No apologies or anything. And she starts to give an attitude slapping desk doors and giving me a look. It takes her more than 15 minutes to give me a refund ( my friend is done with waxing already and waited with me for 5 more minutes). When she gives me the receipt, she is throwing the receipt on the desk. I don't know why she gives such terrible attitude to me! Just because I want to cancel what I purchased? Totally disappointed and shocked by their service. Btw, If I do wait for 25 minutes and get my waxing, it will take about a total of one hour for both of us to stay! I would never come back again. I just came here for the first time yesterday because all of the nail salons have been so inconsistent with my eyebrows. Most of the time I leave the nail salons thinking "I shouldn't have gone there." However at European wax center I had the complete opposite reaction. My eyebrows are so pretty now and I keep looking in the mirror to make sure they are still there. My waxer was Michele who did a very good job and was very meticulous about the shape which was great. She wasn't the friendliest person and didn't make much conversation but it could have just been an off day. Already made my next appointment and I am looking forward to it. read more
