Thankful for Lady Nails & Spa! This mama needed a quick mani/pedi while also navigating a 1 year old who decided to wake up early from his nap. Not only did different team members from the salon stop to smile at my son, but they also offered to hold him during my manicure when he didn't want to be in his stroller. This is in addition to my original post. These reviews go back to when Lisa owned the business. She was great! The salon was clean and all the techs were good. I never had a problem with having to go back to have nails redone. Just know that all the good reviews are from when Lisa owned the salon. The new owner took over a short time ago. I'm headed to Lady Nails tomorrow to show my terrible nails, cracked for the 3rd time. I don't even want anyone to fix them. I just want the owner to see the result From the 3rd attempt! someone mentioNed they didn't get a very good massage and that is so true. I wanted to try a new nail salon & this place was open on a sunday which is convenient. First impression was strong, the space looks clean and up to date. I was welcomed and promptly seated as I arrived at 1:25 for my appointment at 1:30. I showed a photo of my inspiration and asked if it was something they were able to accomplish & if not I can do something more simple. Another women & her daughter came in at 1:45 for their appointment at 2, they were in a rush so the nail tech who was doing my nails stopped and completed the other duo's appointment which was a gel manicure while I was still sitting there waiting. I left the nail salon at 3:45 when my appointment was for 1:30. They did apologize and gave me a free bottle of hand lotion. Okay fine. But on top of this my nails are a mess. They cut two of my cuticles to the point of bleeding and broken skin. The underneath of my nails have piled up, cured powder stuck underneath them. They are crooked, and sloppy looking. The next day my nails were all sore! I paid $63 for my service plus the tip. I usually pay $40 at the nail salon I normally go to. Overall I wanted to like it here because the salon was clean & beautiful on the inside. The staff was nice. But the combination of how my nails turned out & how long I waited. 1:30-3:45 for powder nails - i will not be going back. read more

Lady nails is my favorite salon! The employees are so kind and pay attention to detail. I moved and I will still drive 40 minutes to get my nails done by them! My last visit I smudged my nails before leaving (my own fault) twice! And the employees insisted they fix it for me. Best place ever! read more

I am always happy when I get my nails done here. My grandmother is a usual, and I go rarely for special occasions. I've only been 5 or so times, and the woman who greets you, Linda, always remembers me and is sure to greet me by name. I had a gel manicure that lasted an entire month without chipping! I recommend the manicurist Lisa; she takes her time and is a perfectionist. (I also think she owns the place...) Definitely book an appointment and show up 10 minutes early. Sometimes they get so busy that they don't hold their appointments, but I always bring a book and I realize these things just happen in this industry! read more

I have been coming here for years and this is the first time I left disappointed. I made a pedicure appointment for 4:30, but upon arrival I was asked to sit and I waited for about 15 minutes. A woman finally came over and motioned for me to follow her. I always bring my own polish, so I handed her the bottle. The "express" pedicure for $29 was exactly that ~ express! Nowhere near the attention to detail that I have always experienced at this establishment. Once completed, I was pointed to the drying table, she turned on the dryer switch and walked away. This was the very first time I didn't get a short massage. She never came back ~ she took another customer for a manicure. I had all my things out to pay, but I was left sitting there for a very long time. I asked two different employees if they could please cash me out. The first one just walked away and the second one told the gentleman nearest to me that I wanted to pay. I was totally ignored and left sitting there. I finally addressed the gentleman directly, which I didn't want to do because he was with a customer and I didn't want to interrupt her service. I asked him if someone could please take my payment because I needed to go home! Another employee came over and cashed me out, and I asked her to give the tip (half of which I took back!) to the employee that left me hanging. Once I am done working off my gift certificate, I am not planning on returning. I miss the former crew; they were all held to customer service standards and they actually acknowledged customers and greeted people with a smile. Lady Nails is consistently and time efficient. They always have tons of color options available, friendly service and can squeeze in an appointment if you go in at "odd-hours" (in the morning or early afternoon on a weekday). I feel that their prices are fair for the area and all of their equipment is very clean -- Which is important! My regular pedicure was $25 and I have had it for about 3 weeks now with no chips! Also, I was running out of time so I last minute switched to getting a polish change instead of an entire manicure and the staff was 100% accommodating to this request. My polish on my fingers only lasted about a week, but I am a school teacher, so that is to be expected. In total, I paid around $33 and spent an hour in there tops! Whenever I am in the Orange or Milford area, Lady Nails is the first place I try to go to to get my nails done :). read more

Sadly I think this salon has changed hands. The old salon was really good and clean. I live in NY and CT and had given up my salon in the city because I thought the Orange CT was so good. I have been going there for more than 5 years but have recently noticed that all of the manicurists that had been there for years were no longer. The new team is younger and are far less concerned about the cleanliness of the salon or their equipment. Nothing seems to be sterilized which is frightening. They also don't honor their pre-booked appointments. I suggest you find a new place. read more

I was able to call an hour before and book a manicure and pedicure for me and my fiancée. The staff greeted us right when we walked in and we were taken shortly there after. They were having a special promotion on pedicures (25 bucks) which included a light leg massage as well. The woman knew her way around feet and the chair I was in massaged me as she worked her magic. I'm not a normal pedicure person but I do come when I'm in dire need of a competent pedicure. The are always so accommodating and friendly. Best time to go is during the morning/early afternoon on weekdays - there's never a wait. + Efficient work, open coat closet at front, well-organized and maintained product selection, and friendly staff all in uniform. + Love getting their basic pedicure and gel manicure (both $25), done in just about an hour. Complimentary shoulder massage and hot towel treatment included. They'll also soak my rings in cleaner during my mani. + Make sure to sign up for their membership card for points (they'll have monthly promotions like complimentary paraffin wax with manis) and punch cards (get 10 stamps for pedis or gel manis, get the 11th free). Room for improvement: - They should consider having a designated cashier/greeter for customers upon entrance to guide clients. - The ambience could use a bit of an upgrade. I decided to try to get a manicure at Lady Nail one Sunday a couple weeks ago. I walked into an older style salon and was not acknowledged until I was standing there staring at the jumbled polish colors (none of which were from OPIs newest collections). The pedicure chairs were busy, but there was 3 nail techs standing around 1 customer. They finally asked what I wanted, and i told them just a regular manicure. After much discussion among themselves I was told it would be a 20 minute wait (as she held up 3 fingers). I told them no thanks and went to Queen's nail where I rarely need to wait more than 5 minutes and always get attentive service for a good deal- $10 for a regular manicure. read more

I decided to try Lady Nails because of the reviews here on Yelp, the description of services and photos on their website, and location (I wanted free, off-street parking as opposed to going to a salon in downtown New Haven.) I went there for my first pedicure ever and was extremely pleased with the entire experience. I called ahead and was able to get an appointment the same day. The staff was very friendly and the woman who gave me my pedicure, Amy, was excellent. I notified her that it was my first time and I felt like she took extra care with me. She was courteous and professional, plus she made me feel comfortable. The salon was nearly empty when I was there on a Friday morning, which for me was perfect because it was quiet and I was able to relax. The interior of the salon was neat and clean. I got the Spa Pedicure, which was $65 but worth every dollar. (Basic pedicure was about $35, so I decided to splurge for the more inclusive, extravagent service.) Amy worked on me for over an hour. The pedicure included the basics plus a reflexology massage, parafin wax (which my hands were massaged during), and a hot stone massage. I was pleasantly surprised with all the attention to detail that was given plus the length of service itself. For me, it was an incredible first pedicure experience. I would definitely recommend Lady Nails to anyone in the Orange/Milford/West Haven area. Two men came in for manicures while I was there, so they get a variety of clientele. Stopped in today for a gel mani, pedi and eyebrow wax. It was around 3pm and i was taken right away. My pedi was ok. The paint job itself was great but the scrub/lotioning was just ok. My gel mani came out great and I like that they don't scratch up your nails with that little drill thing. One thing I noticed though was when the women who was doing my nails went to clip my hang nails and skin around my nails she picked skin out of the clipper first so I'm pretty sure it wasn't clean. Besides that it was a good experience and the women who did my eyebrows did a good job too. Not sure if I'd come back since I usually go to NY nails in milford and they are extremely clean and give a much better pedi. They recently hired someone new who gave me a horrible pedicure and sensing I wasn't happy they had someone redo it for me.
