I have been going to this same EWC location since I was in high school (about 8 years probably), so you can imagine that I have had a few different waxers throughout the years, but I have never had anyone do a "bad" job in terms of service or quality. Sure there were waxers that I preferred but I was confident that I could probably go to anyone and be in good hands. Recently, my most recent waxer moved locations to one that was too far out of my way to follow her, so I decided to go with Kristen. Unfortunately, a big mistake. She didn't even say hello or ask how my day was or anything. She showed me the room and started to prep my skin. The biggest red flag was that she wasn't even going to ask me what I wanted?? This was the first time I had gone to her, so there was no way she should have assumed what I wanted, so I had to take it upon myself to tell her that I wanted to keep my shape and that I liked my brows to be pretty full, not too thin. Unfortunately, my brows now look like she heard me and decided to do the complete opposite. I wanted a clean up and ended up with a significantly thinner shape and an arch that looked nothing like what I came in with. I've been so proud of my eyebrows since I started going to this EWC location as a teenager and have always been excited to tell people where I got them done, and I am very upset that it was carelessly waxed away. It's going to be a very long uncomfortable journey back to the way they were. It's very sad that one interaction can ruin such a previously positive feeling about something, and I know they won't even notice, but they also lost a very loyal customer. read more

They are not pushy to sell their products or even the wax passes, but the pass is definitely the way to go if you come here on the regular. There's a huge parking lot in front and I've never had a problem getting an appointment. I asked the hostess in front how long the location had been there, and she tells me TWO YEARS!! Wow... I feel like an idiot haha :D FREE FOR FIRST TIMERS: Ladies: brows, underarm OR bikini line Gentlemen: ears, nose OR brows EWC is among the best wax places I've been to. I have purchased both the unlimited waxes for the year and the buy 9 get 2 free wax passes. They are very convenient and they can be used at the EWC locations. I have been to their Irvine and Brea branches and now also this Upland branch. They have a 4 step process: (1) First off they clean your skin. (2) Then they apply a pre-wax oil so that the wax will only attach to your hair follicles. (3) Wax. (4) Serum is applied to the waxed area to prevent bumps, break outs or ingrown hairs. OR Calming cream is applied if the waxed area is your face... I called in for an appointment on Saturday with Katheryn and she was wonderful. It was as quick and as painless as it gets. I will definitely be coming back to this location to see Katheryn for my waxes in the future. I highly recommend their body wash and their ingrown hair serum as well!!
