Example: they used regular nail dividers on my toes, like I might buy at the store, that looked like they'd been used multiple times. I didn't see how they could have been sanitized. And that made me wonder how careful they are with other sanitation. That's an important issue for nail work, where it's very easy to pick up an infection or fungus. My young daughter went in to get a full set of acrylic nails. The workmanship on the first set was not good at all. They also charged her $20 for a certain type of french nail and didn't tell her that iwas $20 extra so she would be able to choose if she liked it or not. The owner was not kind to her and when I called she said, well we don't tell our clients the extra charge because they may get offended. What? Then she said your daughter didn't say she was unhappy. I told her she's young and wouldn't say anything. She said for her to come back my daughter went back, they "fixed" them but wouldn't refund the $20 nor her tip. Not good customer service. I had JoJo do a basic gel pedicure, and the experience was not enjoyable. My whole pedicure was done within 10 minutes. Once I got home I could see all the skin that was left around my toes. I came with 3 other girlfriends and they all got taken really good care of. My initial thought was that it was a very quiet place. I was greeted kindly at the door as a walk-in and had no problem waiting for the technician to be available as a result. It surprised me that the greeter didn't tell me to "pick a color" and show me the color charts and samples being a new walk-in. I thought it odd that there were no polish bottles on the walls to choose from as I'm used to in the salons in LA. I had previously checked price lists online yet was unable to find anything visible in the salon for first-time customers. I asked for a basic pedicure as I'm allergic to gel polish. The technician was soft-spoken and focused on her work. The water was perfectly warm, and everything seemed clean. The only reason I took a star off is because I didn't think the nail art was worth an additional $8.00 (especially when it said nail art started at $5.00 online). I have been getting pedicures in LA for 20 years with nail art at $5.00 for a detailed flower design and a rhinestone or two. What I received from this salon was the most basic 6-dot flower with nothing else. This is already on top of the fact that the pedicure itself was also $5.00 more than what I paid in LA. I find it absurd that it costs quite a bit more to get your nails done in Visalia than it does in one of the most expensive cities in CA. Side Note: I used Yelp to find this place and chose to go here due to the distance and the fact that some of the other higher rated salons were literally double the price!!! I'm not cheap by any means, but it is outrageous for Visalia to charge more (not even equal to) a great pedicure in LA. read more

Highly disappointed, I went to fashion nails to get gel polish. I called beforehand to ask how much, and they told me $15.. so I go and get them done. During my service the man tells me I need to cut down my nails so I let him. When it's time to pay, he charges me $18!!!! I ask why ? And let him know that when I called they told me $15, and he says "oh I cut nail" so that was extra!!!! Totally shocked and upset , I hand him a $20 bill and he replied thank you, and I said no I need my change!!!!! And he looked upset. Two guys worked on my services on Monday May 29th. I made an appointment for 10:30 am. I walked in and stated I was there for that appointment. The manicurist said both the gel manicure and pedicure would be done at the same time because they had another appointment. Ok? What's the point of making the appointment then? Both guys were very nice, but I have a huge problem with the QUALITY and CLEANLINESS of the place. Since Monday my finger has become swollen, painful, hot to the touch and infected with pus oozing out from where I was knicked during cuticle trimming. I will have to see a doctor considering these infections can be serious & I am 17 weeks pregnant. The gentleman knew this. First of all it was so hot in there. Second i came in for a fill and they didn't even take off all my polish (which was black). Then they painted the wrong color, I picked a mauve color and I got a bright red. I thought maybe it was going to dry lighter since it was a different kind of polish. You can still see my old polish color under my other color. It looks so tacky. And, when he was painting my nails he accidentally hit one of them, then tried to fix it, which only made it worse. If I had more time and wasn't so damn hot I would have asked them to fix it, but I was done sweating while getting my nails done. Not impressed. I got a simple gel manicure and it's so messy. The edges look terrible and some of my nails were filed crooked. I asked her to fix them a few times but this is the best I got. At the end of the manicure she was trying to file the edges to remove the excess polish and it really hurt. Never going back and won't recommend. read more

After moving back to Visalia I was really lucky to have found a spot on such short notice. I'm really not to picky about my nails, I just love to have them done when I can. Laura, hands down has officially given me my favorite full set of all time!!! She spent so much attention to shape and was respectful with the length I wanted them all while asking me questions along the way, to ensure they were to my liking. These are pictures of what my nails look like a day later. As you can see my cuticle areas do not look nice at all. I showed her a simple picture of what I wanted with the gems and she wanted to just place them her way. When I asked her to fix them because that wasn't what I wanted she started to get an attitude with me. She only put the gems on with super glue. Which made all around the gems look lumpy and messy. There is extra acrylic in places it doesn't need to be. The acrylic did not smooth out into the cuticle are it just stoped(if that doesn't make sense sorry) on a couple of my fingers the acrylic was not even throughout the nail. She made me pay upfront after she put the fake tips on my nails she didn't even know what I wanted just the length. I ended up paying $55 plus tip and I wasn't happy at all. read more
