Yes I agree am 1 min late but telling me that you close at 6:00pm that brings me to my question how where you planing to get all my hair out in just that short amount of time from 5:45 appointment time to 6:00 closing time ? knowing I was getting full Brazilian wax and Arm pit wax. I was coming from the other end of town which I mentioned and hard just spent $40 to be there then had to spend another $40 to go home yet unwax for some stupid 1 min extra late. Strange because I set up appointments with anybody because it was my first time there. She said I have an 11:30 which was not accommodating for me. I was a customer for while and I got a 2nd degree burn from brazilian waxing, which my doctor suggested no more waxing and I have been trying to get refund for the remaining money of my membership since my cancellation and have been more than 2 months and the only answer, I heard from the Manager from 9399 Woodmore Center Dr, Glenarden, MD that give it a couple of week. How many more couple of week, I need to wait. Unfortunately, We signed an agreement that we can't do anything against them and now, I understand why. Let's talk about how I rolled the dice on coming to this EWC location. I've been to A few others in the past and the girls are always so nice but the waxes are always.. ehh not so good. But, I just moved to this area, needed a wax badly and didn't want to drop $80 on one or deal with excessive booking rules. I had the pleasure of being serviced by Jasmine and she did an AMAZING job! She gave me a disclaimer that my hair was probably too short for a Brazilian and she didn't want me to waste my money. I really appreciated the honest disclaimer. I told her it's ok and to just get off what she could, and baby girl snatched me baldddd okkk! Not only that, but she was also VERY quick, minimal pain, no issues w my piercing like most ppl have, and she was very friendly. I mean, we were chatting it up like old friends! Miss Jasmine girl you did your big one!!! You definitely have a loyal client in me!! Now I just wish EWC would provide their waxers with more/better products and more perks for customers. I have been to quite a few EWC's before and I can say that I really liked Lauren as a tech. She did a great job with my wax, and was communicative during the whole process. She was quick but still efficient. EWC's are pretty much very similar in décor but what I like about using EWC's compared to any other place is the fact that you can use your passes at any EWC around the country. The hard wax is definitely better than soft wax.. and yes it's painful but you're waxing so you kind of expect that. I would definitely use this EWC again if I am in the area and if it is your first time ask for Lauren and make sure you let them know its your first time so they can explain things a little more to you or talk to you if you wish. read more

Things have gotten a little... hairy during the pandemic ‍. But in attempt to restore a bit of normalcy and pull things together, I decided I wanted to find a location a little closer than my previous go to. I looked at reviews prior to going and because it was a little impromptu I didn't select a particular technician. Booking was seamless. When i arrived there was a sign on the door requesting you check in and wait for a text to indicate it was your turn. I waited about 20 minutes past my appt time. No biggie, i didn't have anywhere to go, but if I did, that would have been an issue. The receptionists were masked as well as the other customers I saw. My technician came out to greet me and take my temperature. She whisked me to the back to get me together. I won't torture you with the painful details but after a lot of ripping , I was my normal self. I was pleasantly surprised that at checkout my cost was around 30 dollars after the new customer discount . Score! I will be back. Not sure if I will go back to the technician that I had previously though. read more

This was my very first time at this location.. I got a Brazilian & my upper legs. Mind you I paid $120 total, not including tip. For that amount of money I should see NO hair. She missed so many spots on my upper legs. She missed hair on my full Brazilian wax. I've been to multiple locations & I've never had an issue with the quality of the service. I will not be going back to this location. Still gave her a $20 tip. When in reality she didn't even take her time to make sure she got every hair. If you sign up for a job at least make sure you do it right. Not half ass. Her work was not worth your guys prices. She made you guys look bad. !! Send her back to training. :) read more

Used to love the chain but service is extremely inconsistent. This is one of the worst locations I've been to. Some waxers slam stuff around, act bothered to be there, and you'll have wax on you and patches upon leaving. Bare minimum service, its rushed, and no effort taken to ensure you're leaving with an even wax. No consistent care or quality in service. Find a spa or non chain for better service. read more

I'm a nurse and received a coupon for a free wax during the pandemic for healthcare workers. The discount very clearly states it applies to Brazilian waxes. Once EWC opened following the shut down I drove 30 minutes in from the city because my location was still not open. I got there 10 minutes early as instructed and waited outside only to learn at the time of my appointment that the owner of this particular location is refusing to honor the coupon for Brazilians. Between driving and waiting, I wasted an hour and a half of my day. I wanted to cry. I recommend Hot Wax in Hampden if you want great service. They were highly recommended by a friend so I called while driving away from the White Marsh EWC. They fit me in the same day even though they were already pretty booked. I may not even bother to redeem the coupon from EWC at a different location. It's just not worth coming back. I had a wax done at an EWC right before the pandemic and, quite honestly, (sorry if this offends anyone) it felt like I was in an underground abortion clinic. I don't even know where to start.. I went to EWC after a couple of friends of mine had good experiences at other locations and learning they used hard wax. The appointment process was simple all online like I like. The check in process leaves something to be desired. I am habitually early so I knew I would have a wait but I wait an extra 15 mins past my appointment time in an extremely cold lobby so I was not happy. Once my esthetician was complete with her last client she came to get me and things got worse. She barely said two words to me then read off what she was going to do. At one point she mumbled the steps of the process and I had to ask her to repeat just so I knew what was going on. I'm used to being asked how I like my brows but she just started, I'm assuming she just followed the natural arch of my eye since they hadn't grown in too much. Then my extended bikini was even worse. I'm also used to my esthetician being friendly and talking to me to distract that she's literally pulling hair from my skin however none of that happened. The only thing she said was I'm about to pull.. I have been waxed quite a few times but not once have I ever stopped a wax mid wax because it was so uncomfortable. Well that day I did! I went on vacation half waxed thanks to EWC. The only reason I gave the second star is because the staff called for follow up after I left and was pretty understanding. read more

I never was made to feel uncomfortable, like I was just another thing they had to do or that my body was bothersome to them. When getting a Brazilian, it can be an awkward process. Very few people get to be up close and personal with my bits. However, Lauren made me feel at ease during the process though right up front was a tad awkward. They run very tight appointment times so if I were to be any more modest than I was there's no "relaxing spa like atmosphere here". I walked in and she said "take off your underwear and hop up here" so this being my first time I was a little uncomfortable but tend to roll with the punches. Also, I didn't shave my upper thighs since I wasn't sure how far from my bikini line she was going to wax. I'd have gladly paid more to have that done if she'd asked and pointed out that my now hairless snatch was offset by a bit of a bristly neighboring area. She sold me on some after care products, not sure how they'll turn out yet having just gotten them. Also, website says "first bikini is free" but automatically sets you up online for the Brazilian which is half off. Again, fine, less hair is better I guess, but misleading. My recommendations: -if you know it's someone's first time add a few extra minutes in to talk the guest through the process and make them feel at ease. -ask for up-sells during the process It felt very much like a business transaction, which it is, but as a consumer, allowing me to feel good throughout the process will make my experience better and allow me to recommend the establishment. read more

It was my first time attending any EWC and i'm in love!! This location was very clean and welcoming, and the front desk associate was very sweet with checking me in. I was getting a brazilian wax (for the first time ever) and had my nerves, but the esthetician Lauren was absolutely AMAZING! She explained everything to me and talked me through the entire session, letting me know when she would be removing the hair. It was such a great experience and I made sure to book my next appointment for the next month. Left with my first session being half off, as well as some great scrubs and the ingrown hair serum. Probably the best place I've found for a Brazilian wax since moving to northern MD. (They use hard wax and the regular price is significantly lower than many places around.) The chick at the front was great while I waited. The waxed was friendly and did a good job too. (I also got half off the service for being a first time customer.) The only down falls were that the room was VERY cold and the process was longer than normal *but she was thorough. You also have to lay on your stomach for the backside- which made sense when she explained why, but omg it was uncomfortable with big boobs. Lol Despite that, I'll be back. read more

Very fast and efficient, used all hard wax which I love and got every single hair. She made conversation the entire time so it didn't feel awkward. Subpar service. Terrible management/service at the White Marsh location. I am a nurse who signed up for their healthcare working discount during the pandemic and THIS location....NOT the OTHERS...THIS LOCATION refused to honor it. Not only that...but when the salon opened back up they DID honor it for one nurse then two weeks later said NOPE. Had a coworker go in dressed in scrubs. The staff asked her what she was there for...she said the nurse coupon for the wax. Her badge was visibly present. They did the service and then charged her full price. She explained she was there for STATED service on coupon but the staff said NO and three of them argued with her at the counter. I had a coupon and wrote to corporate and they simply said 'Oh not all EWC honor it...some do, some don't.' I said for being a 'chain' that really sends out the wrong message for the other centers who are generous and honor the corporate coupon. I said it is like going to Burger King and being told that they don't serve big macs at this location. NO ONE addressed the concern other than asking to restate it a few times. The WM LOCATION wrote saying 'did you have a question' and did not address any of the written concerns written to them. Steer away. read more

I tried to go to this place for the very 1st time I had originally wanted a Brazilian but changed my mind and and wanted a chin and lip wax. I am going through chemo and hormone treatments that make my facial hair grow and I needed that more than the Brazilian. I called 5 hours before my appointment and the person who answered said it would not be an issue. When I arrived the woman who was supposed to do my waxing, - Jane- Came out open the door and said we are in Room one I ask her where Room 1 wad because i never been there before she sighed loudly and said it's right here her tone was rude and her nose was out of her mask. She then looked at the computer screen and told me to undress from the waist down. I told her I was not getting a Brazilian anymore and I had changed it to a lip waxing to which she responded well that's not what I have here and I explained to her that I had called in and changed it she then stormed out of the Room and said what I can't do 3 services and left me sitting there. I came out to try to see what was being done and was told she was not going to do my services. She was extremely rude and so I mention to the front desk that they might need some training in customer service at this location. She came back out of the door and began basically yelling match with me in the middle of the store and was extremely rude and condescending. She should absolutely be fired and I will never step foot in that place again. I would go anywhere before they would step foot in there again. unprofessional horrible employees. My note to management is maybe have a manager there that understands how to treat people. read more

I've been a regular here with Meghan but my most recent experience with Clarissa is why I'm reviewing. Unlike Meghan my experience with Clarissa was painful. I regularly get Brazilian's so I know what to expect pain wise (fairly none) but this time was different. For starters the wax temperature was too warm, and when mentioned I was told well it's the right temp for the area. Then I pain...it was to the point I asked her to stop and get someone else. The trainer (Jess I believe is her name) finished the job while also correcting her on her technique. I've contacted management which was another hoop to jump through to actually speak to someone. My appt was Aug 1 and I've still yet to actually get my issue resolved. When I finally spoke with management I was told that she needed to speak to both waxers and would get back to me. It's now Aug 20 I called back again yesterday and still haven't gotten a call back. At the least I'd like my wax pass back, why be charged for such an excruciating experience!?! read more

I visited this place one week ago, and it was my first wax experience ever. Of course I was nervous and concerned about the potential for awkward silences, but I didn't experience any of that. Lin was very professional, knowledgeable, and made great conversation throughout the entire experience. The place appeared to be very clean, the receptionists staff were pleasant, and I there was no wait time upon arriving to my appointment. As close as this to my home, I was some what pleased with my experience yesterday. The girls at the front desk seemed nice enough but had NO personality at all. This is a place to get a cleanup for eyebrows. Miranda was very nice but seemed to just want to get through the waxing. My eyebrows are cleaned up but not as shaped as I would like. I also got a Brazilian that she left some patches of hair, to which I hadn't gotten one in a while, and could understand she would need to go over some places twice to get most of the hair. I'm pretty easy to please, but if you are looking to get an absolute thorough job done this isn't the place. Just a forewarning, this place is extremely cold so that the wax dries properly and humidity stays to the lower end. read more

So i have been loyal European wax center customer for almost 3 years. Even with the Covid-19 epidemic i stayed loyal. During the epidemic i checked every week to see if booking would be open and it finally was. I rushed down to appointment just to find 5 other women waiting outside because the center was still closed. Even then i still waited another 2 weeks until it was officially open. Booked my appointment for the next rushed from work just to get there TWO MINUTES late after a FORTY FIVE MINUTE drive just to be told by Chrissy that i had to reschedule. I asked to speak with the manager and she told me "there is nothing i can do but schedule you another appointment". I'm highly disappointed and just want my money back at this point. read more

As a first time customer I got a free wax with a choice between eyebrows, underarms or bikini wax. I chose eyebrows because they were in need of a touch up. I had heard EWC uses hard wax and I was excited to try it because it is supposed to be less invasive. I booked with Corrine and she was super nice. The wax was just average to me. I think a random nail salon would have been better actually. I don't think my skin is a fan of waxing in general, but hard wax felt like duct tape being ripped off of me that was adhered with super glue! Brazillian wax?? Pass. EWC is pricey and the interior is beautiful just like an upscale salon. Perhaps the body waxes have better results, but I'm not sure if I would come here again or not; certainly not for my eyebrows. read more

On my recommendation, my sister made an appointment for the new client special. AFTER the service was complete, she was charged full price. When my current package expires I will not be renewing. The front desk staff member asked her if she was a state resident and she clearly indicated she was not. She should have been told prior to receiving the service.
