The staff: are cool and kind, make even a non-hip 40 something feel welcome. No snobbery here. The coffee: is artfully created - each cup flavored with care - not mass produced, fast and mindless - and you can taste that. Really nice, strong coffee and delicious breakfast foods- 5 stars. Barista attitude 4 stars- we asked for clarification on food menu and were met with raised eyebrows. Your menu was not anywhere to be found (maybe this was a one time thing, but we are not local so we don't know your normal). Asking for clarification just seems typical and definitely shouldn't be something one barista gives a customer rolled eyes towards. We will give her the benefit of the doubt that it was just an off day for her. read more

I drive by here near daily and it always seems busy so I popped in with the wife. Being a roaster I expected to be immediately hit with the aromas of coffee but no, oddly enough it sells like a thrift shop in here. And not the funky, cool, quaint thrift shop. More like the must, old (possibly soiled) crap that should be thrown out but someone is trying to sell. The line is confusing, which is why there is a lengthy sign explaining how to stand in line (odd but true) which is ignored. Staff was friendly and the coffee came out in moderate time. It was cold as we waited. Perhaps if they had a fire going in the stove it would be warmer. The seating is awkward. Benches around the perimeter with tables. Benches are too high for the table while the chairs are too low. Awkward. Just as awkward as the couches and lounge chairs that recline you so far back you end up 12' away from the person sitting across from you, making conversation hard. Not impressed with the coffee. Not terrible but not great. Nor was I impressed with the scone. Feels like this place could be great but it's just not quite there. read more

Stopped here while passing through Sandpoint because someone had recommended the food truck that is at the coffee shop. I got their seasonal iced rose coffee drink and it was AMAZING!!! It was the best iced coffee drink I had in a long time. I also got 5 of their energy balls, but wish I got 10 of them. Those were also delicious! I highly recommend this Evans Brothers location. With a background in coffee based out of Seattle, I know that small-town coffee shops are hit or miss. After a trusted coffee guru/friend heard where I was and pointed me to Evans Brothers, I arrived late on a Thursday morning. The shop was empty but the barista, Daniel, was chatty and knowledgeable. I returned the same afternoon for some cold brewed coffee -- a delicious treat, especially on a hot summer day -- and had a chance to chat Daniel up more about the business and the coffees. I'll be stocking up on my way out of town with plenty of whole bean selections. Give it a whirl, don't let the pour-over coffee bar scare you off (it may take a couple minutes, but it's well worth it!) and add some chalk art to the sidewalk. Also: their El Salvador Las Delicias is a coffee they bought directly from the farm in El Salvador! Worth supporting the direct-access lot! read more

I think of myself as quite a coffee addict. I was with family visiting Sandpoint, so naturally we had to scope out the cafe scene. Evans Brothers brews an excellent cup of drip coffee and offers a fair array of pastries. The cafe is quaint with a small indoor seating area and a nice patio offering picnic tables for sipping your cup of joe while enjoying the warm sunshine (in the summer months of course). I hate to sound pretentious but I consider myself a huge coffee nerd and connoisseur. With a background in coffeehouse management I visit coffee houses whenever I travel, as much as I can. This is by far my new favorite. It doesn't hurt that I fell in love with Sandpoint when passing through, this town is amazing. The patio and indoor seating are wonderful, I loved the pour-over coffee and it was the best cup of coffee I've had. I love the merch and really enjoyed the limited batch Ethiopian coffee beans that the Evans brother recommended to me (the blond one, thanks a bunch!) The other brother was super cool and let me check out the roaster. And their was a sweetheart dog laying in front of the door, which automatically makes a place better. Oh and a flower truck selling arrangements, how cool is that? I loved everything about this place. I hope I can make a trip to Sandpoint in the near future. Thank you! read more

This was a quick stop for breakfast as we drove through to Canada. It was fantastic! Some key things worth noting: -they are super dog friendly, inside and out. My berner, and the neighbouring retriever were both blissed out at our shady tables. - the staff were busy, but incredibly friendly and helpful. - the pour over coffee was outstanding. Perfectly silky and mellow - almost creamy, even when drunk black (note that I don't care for the sharp bitterness that others love about Starbucks). - the dark chocolate mocha was balanced and rich -pastries, both sweet (cinnamon croissant) and savory (breakfast sandwich) were yummy. read more
