The best bang for your bucks in my opinion. I can say that if you're looking for some Swedish oil and hit rock massage this isn't the place. But if you are looking for some built-up muscle tension release this is the perfect place. They have levels of intensity and if you are not one for deep tissue type work, I would suggest levels 1thru2. If you want some good pressure and not leave in potentially more pain than you came in with, I'd suggest levels 3thru4. Levels 5 thru 7 would be a bit much for me. Great atmosphere and great energy. Disappointed by this place because I've heard plenty of good reviews, but my first experience was awful. The atmosphere was tense and unfriendly. I chose pressure level 6; the masseuse was rubbing my back so gently that I requested more pressure. Suddenly, he switched his technique to heavy, aggressive and painful. I asked him to lighten up, but he continued to be so rough as to bring tears to my eyes. I was in shock at how bad it felt and couldn't wait for the massage to be over. There was nothing relaxing about it. Needless to say, I was so stiff and bruised the next day that I attempted to contact the store several times to request a refund. When you check in you write down your name and type of service and length you are looking to book. They then have the massage therapist screen with if they are available and then the amount of time it will take for a therapist to free up if you are looking for a specific therapist (or if there is a wait). The atmosphere is open floor plan with relaxing music playing. There is no talking and the lights are lightly dimmed. I only got a foot rub but it was absolutely wonderful 5/5 stars, and great balanced pressure distribution. They give you water too which is nice. I think I would be broken if I went higher than a 4! sometimes i think there is only one intensity level and it depends on who you get. I had the best 30 minute massage here which felt more like an hour! Yes, it was that good and just what I needed to work out all the knots, stress and tension in my body. I got the full body massage for only $25! It was the best money I have ever spent for a high quality massage. I wasn't able to catch the name of the gal that worked on me but she did an excellent job! I played it safe and opted for the level 4 intensity. I'm glad I did because after the massage my lower back was a little sore. I blame that for my long time back issues that I've been dealing with. Once I got home and took a shower my back felt much better. No appointment is needed here which is great! I came right after work and there was no wait time. I read the best time to come is towards the end of the day. There is street parking and they also have a parking lot with limited spaces. You can choose a full body massage, chair massage which sits you face forward and are like the chairs you'd see at the mall, they also offer foot massages or a combination. The prices are very reasonable here! The table was nicely set up with clean towels and the staff wears masks and gloves while they work on you. I wore my mask even though I was face down. I have been a regular client for several years now. Couple months ago one of the operators asked if she could walk on my back and I said yes not knowing how dangerous it is. I have extremely bad knots in my back so the operator dug her heel so far into my knot that she slipped, and her foot went into my rib cage and bruised my ribs Which hurt for a couple months. However, I thought people make mistakes. It's OK I'll go back so I've been going back for a few months and I went last night and the operator Charlie worked on me and dug his elbow so far into my knot his elbow slipped again to the other side of my rib cage. I told him that I felt something pull, and he just looked at me with a grin and continued working on me. I laid there and hoping that the pain would just go away because I really needed the massage but it just kept getting worse and worse. I should've gotten up and left Then and there however I was trying to give him the benefit of the doubt and hope for a massage that could relax my muscles at the end of the massage I could barely get up off the bed. I was almost in tears, and when we walked up to the front, I told him that something was really wrong with my rib cage, and he looked at me with a smile handed me my bill and gave me a water. I went to my car and I cried. I just feel that these cheap massage places should at least have basic knowledge on how to massage people, especially when they have really bad knots they don't just go in right away and pound them out. You have to massage it gently and then release the pressure these are not trained professionals and unfortunately, I had to learn the hard way that you get what you pay for. I never go on yelp and report anything, but I just want to warn people to be very careful when they go into these establishments. As a professional massage therapist myself I can say that this is the ONLY place I go to get a relaxing massage. I've tried other more traditional massage places in the area only to be sorely disappointed. But at Evan's I have NEVER had a bad massage. The staff are well trained and know what they are doing. They make sure you are comfortable the whole time and do an incredible job in their profession. Some may not like the atmosphere as is is an open room that many people can be in at the same time but as long as the other clients know the quiet rule, there are usually no problems with the relaxing mood of the building. I suggest any and every type of massage that they offer. If they have the staff available they will even accommodate you if you want to get a longer massage than they offer. One great thing is you can walk in and get a massage without an appointment. Sometimes a line, but once you've been, you understand why. You sign in and check what services you want, full body, back, or feet. My favorite is a combination, 30 minutes on body , 30 minutes on my feet. Its very clean and well run, and a great value. Don't speak above a whisper when you walk in or you'll get dirty looks!!! I've had some of the best massages of my life here and I've had some anemic ones. When you go in, they hand you a piece of paper and you indicate how hard you want to be massaged on a scale of 1 to 7 and for how long. I always pick 6 or 7 for an hour and always wind up getting a male therapist. The men have always been very professional and courteous. I brought my son who checked 6 and he got a woman and later said it was way too light. He walked out as tight as he walked in. Thus, the 1 star deduction. As others have no doubt pointed out, it's impossible to communicate anything to your therapist. I usually pat my shoulders and neck and make a face to say ouch! That seems to work to get them to concentrate on my computer neck. No one speaks English, so any special requests would be impossible to communicate. That hasn't been a problem for me. It's a great deal, moneywise. If the massage is great, I tip $20 over the $36, which guarantees they remember me the next time and it seems to help getting good therapists the next time. This was the nightmare scenario. Guy didn't know what he was doing, used maximum pressure to hurt me not heal Me. I have bruises on my back, a throbbing headache and it's hard to walk because of whatever he did to my calves. Best $36 spent...ever! I use to have a membership at Massage Envy but Evan's Relaxation Station beats the price and boosts the intensity. While there is less frills with limited privacy, no special massage oils or 'trained therapists,' I get that deep tissue massage I crave for a bargain. I always request a female because they go incognito while you are face down on the table and use bamboo poles on the ceiling to hold on while they walk and massage on your back. This was my first time visiting Evan's - I left feeling a foot taller! :) I walked in without an appointment and was able to lay down for a massage right away. Facility seemed clean and they changed the face towels and paper immediately after my massage was over. Linda was my massage therapist and she did a great job. I requested level 5 pressure and she did a great job, there were moments where I was taking deep breaths because I was so tense, and she would ask me if I was okay. It was nice that she was paying attention to my reactions to the pressure, and she was definitely able to work out the tight muscles in my neck/shoulders. The only drawback is that I asked for a 60-minute massage but got 40 mins. I wasn't bothered though because I was only charged for the 40 min. price. I've been going there for 10 plus years now. You can't get a better deal than this, an hour for $41. The men are a bit rougher than the women, so scale it accordingly. The only minus is the music! Same piano music all of the time. the workers must be really sick of it!
