A great spa experience at this boutique location that is near state street in Santa Barbara. I came with a bachelorette party, and some of us got a facial and/or massage, and the spa staff handled our party of 6 like pros. The place is small so half of us did our treatment while the others shopped down the street, and we then switched places when they finished. They have a small parking lot in the back, which was helpful. I enjoyed my facial and massage and was very relaxed. Price-wise, both were $220 without tip. Overall, a good experience with friendly staff and the price seems to be in line with what the market is offering for these services. Tova at Cielo Spa gives the most incredible mom-to-be (prenatal) massages!! I was originally gifted one during my pregnancy, but ended up booking 3 more for myself because I couldn't get enough. The spa has such relaxing ambiance music, the table and room are perfectly heated, the essential oils used are top notch, and Tova always asks if there are areas you'd like her to focus on. She'll ask how the pressure is but always got it perfectly right without me needing to correct. The best part is the massage itself is a full 60 minutes--at some spas they say 60 minutes but that includes the time to check in, undress/dress etc. I can't recommend Tova and Cielo Spa highly enough. So this little gem downtown was such a pleasant surprise. When you first arrive, your first impressions are along the lines of, "well, it's small, and not 'fancy' like other spas in town, but it's cute and clean" but OH MY GOSH!! I've had two massages from here now and they were both insanely good. I felt like both massage therapists really listened to where my "problem areas" are (because they're weird spots compared to most bodies), and really took the time and care to address those areas. The people who work here really understand bodies and how to address underlying issues, and the work they do is absolutely fantastic - literally better than the fancier looking places in town. Both my girlfriend and I were BLOWN AWAY! The massage I got was by far the best (see below for the details). My girlfriend also thinks it was one of the best massages she's ever had. She gets massages a lot (at least several times a months) and she's picky! I got a 60 minute Swedish massage from Brenda. Both of her hands and lower arms were synchronized so that each stroke felt amazing! Also, her pressure was just perfect; it was as if she knew exactly what I wanted. As soon as she started massaging me, all I could think about was how soon I could come back to Santa Barbara to get another massage from her. My girlfriend got a 60 minute deep tissue massage with Emily. Obviously, she was thinking about the same thing. As soon as our massages were over, she said "we should have got 90 minutes!" We left the spa extremely happy and relaxed with a lingering dreamy feeling. Booking was easy too. We did this at the last minute; so, we called them. We exchanged a couple of texts and they found Emily and Brenda for us. Quick and painless! I cannot think of anything other than 5 stars for Cielo Spa! NOTES The word "spa" used here can be a bit misleading for some people. They offer "spa treatments" like facials and waxing but they do not have a steam room, etc. If you're thinking of changing into a bathrobe in a locker room, soaking in a hot tub, lounging in the lounge before getting a massage, this is not your place. I just do not want anyone to be disappointed. Roxanne gave my husband a deep tissue massage and she's seriously one of the only people able to apply enough pressure to get all the kinks out. I was blessed to have Mario for a prenatal massage. I am 33 weeks pregnant and she made me feel so relaxed while paying special attention to all the tight areas from pregnancy. Cute spa spot. We were a little early to our appointment so we waited in their small lounge area outside by the parking lot. They also offered small water bottles before and after the massage. All the masseuses were very friendly and great at their job. I was in the couples room with my friend and her masseuse kept talking, I'm not a fan of that. My friend fell asleep and she stopped talking though. We got Swedish massages, and I enjoyed mine by Brenda! The oil was nice and warm, the music was calming, everything was good.
