We weren't quite sure where to enter from the back parking lot, but we saw a "Wine Tasting This Way" sign that led us through an area being set up for a wedding...whoops! Not sure if the sign had been moved or simply hadn't been moved for the wedding. Once we made our way to the tasting area, it was extremely busy and we had no idea where or how to check in. We eventually asked someone who came up to the register to check out another guest, and they promptly got us checked in. The tasting itself was nice, we tasted about 20 diff wines, and we had a lovely girl serving us. Unfortunately, the biggest disappointment was as first time visitors, we weren't given any info about how the tasting experience worked. It took about an hour and a half, and we didn't receive the advertised tour that was included. After the tasting, we were ready to purchase some wine and waited behind another couple who was checking out. However, no one ever acknowledged us or came over to help us check out. I think this place is probably great, but the disorganized check-in, lack of clear signage, and inattentive staff made the experience more difficult. As first time visitors, we would have loved a little more guidance.

Then when he did acknowledge me and I stated I would sit at the bar, it took several minutes for the bartender to acknowledge me. The staff was busy speaking to each other and doing side work. Once I was acknowledged, things started getting a little better. When I arrived during breakfast/brunch, I was informed they were in the middle of a menu change, so my choices were limited. Breakfast items include bacon and burritos. I started off with a charcuterie board (though I had asked for a fromage board). This was not only because I wanted some tasty cheese, but I was trying to kill time until the lunch/dinner menu started. The board was a great board, two different meats, three cheeses, a loaf of bread, some nuts and jellies. But it was 40 dollars! I had a few small plates (which was still a lot of food). I had a melon and cucumber salad, which was a good palate cleanser. I also had the roasted king mushrooms, which were underwhelming with no seasoning, and they were a little chewy. The best thing was the wild boar meatballs, which were seasoned really well and in a savory, delicious marinara sauce. All the cocktails were fruity (but not sweet) and refreshing. I had one that was carrot based (Kiss my Carrot with tequila, cointreau, carrot, orange, and ginger), one that had pineapple flavor (paper boat with rum, falernum, aperol, lemon, pineapple), and the smoky smoke and flower (hibiscus mezcal, cointreau, pama, rose water). This spot is a winery, so they have a large wine list. They have handhelds like burgers and flatbreads. Starters like artichoke dip and bruschetta. Some of the current entrees, which might change, are hanger steak, chilean salmon, cauliflower steak. They had a gnocchi dish I was interested in, but it's already been removed from the menu. The restaurant is classy and just like a winery is expected to be. The food is pretty good. But the service was really subpar.

By joining the club, it was a monthly excuse to plan a special night out to what became one of our favorite places for date night. It's been a couple of years now, but we had occassion to meet the owners, when we mistook their closing time for an hour later. The lights were still on, so we didn't realize our mistake, until they'd already invited us in to exchange our monthly growler with such warmth. Super nice people, reflecting the vibe we always felt on our other visits. The staff echoes that disposition, always friendly and knowledgeable. Though the winery isn't on-site, I've always been impressed with their tasting experience. I've now been a member for over 5 years, going in at least once a month, and they still suggest trying seasonal options and have broadened my palette... Though my ex and I have parted ways for a long while now and he moved away, he's kept our membership current, calling it my "alimony," and a nod to remembering the good times we had together. I recommend Bigsby's for all the good memories for all the folks, be it a lazy summer afternoon on the patio or a cozy evening in the lounge area with a glass of red when it's cold outside!

I will say, that because the exteriors of all the holes are raised to keep the ball inside, it made me a little nervous due to the tripping hazards of each hole. I'm only mentioning this in case you're bringing some senior citizens or people with lower mobility. Otherwise it was fun and the staff was super nice. I love how you don't have to keep track of each putt, the technology does it for you! We did have some issues with it, but Jenah was working in our area and was very helpful and available to fix any tech issues. There are four 9-hole courses and it really is a fun activity for people of all ages! Plus, they have a massive bar and menu, so you can really make it an all day event!

Puttshack is a hip spot with a number of 9-hole mini golf courses inside. They have a full bar and serve food, but we just chose to play golf. The scoring is the coolest part here. The balls have chips in them, and the course knows where your ball is at all times. It scores the round for you, and each hole has additional challenges called "supertubes". Scoring is backwards from traditional golf, so you'll want as many points as you can to win. The pricing on weekdays is super reasonable here, and that's why we delayed our visit to our last day in Denver. The other days we were in town fell on a weekend, and the prices felt kind of outrageous for weekend golf. If you can, I would certainly stick to visiting Puttshack on the weekdays. It was also nearly empty during our visit, which made it much more enjoyable. I would return to a Puttshack for the fun gameplay and cool scoring mechanics. Just be sure to watch the pricing tiers based on the day of your visit!
