The team at Evan's Tires is wonderful! I was able to set up an appointment online for the following day, and the service to my vehicle only took about 1 hour, even though they didn't have the lug nuts I needed on site! They were really transparent with me when I got there and they told me that they didn't have the Lugnuts for my Jeep on site and they were going to call to their other site across the street to see if they had any. They told me they would bring some over and check if they would fit and we would go from there. Everything went really smoothly. And when I told them I was going to call an Uber so I could go back home to check on my dogs. They kindly called an Uber on my behalf. They also did a complimentary detailed inspection and told me about a few things that I can look into repairing in my vehicle in the future. They even gave me an estimate for the cost of the future repairs. The only thing I got done today was replacing 20 swollen Lugnuts on my Jeep. On Reddit I saw that it typically costs about $300 to get them all replaced and here. I was able to get them replaced for about $250. It's always nice to get a good deal. The man who helped me was really friendly from the moment I walked in the door and I really appreciate it. The customer service and pricing are great here. After going to another Evans Tires (PQ) and waiting for over 2.5 hours just to get a flat repaired, I left and came to this one. The gentleman (Ever) at the desk was energetic and helpful. Great business. I regularly bring two vehicles to this location. This business even patched up the tire for one of my vehicles for free near closing time. Everything is great, as long as I check in with Chris, the service manager. However, if Carlos, the service manager checks me in, there are issues. For the first vehicle, I bought a five year wheel alignment policy and the person who sold it to me told me that it was unlimited. One time, Carlos straight out told me that they are only taking "new money customers" that day. Other times, I drop off my car with only a few cars in the bay and parking lot, only to return two hours later and told that my car was not serviced. Carlos has also told me that if I buy additional services to the five year wheel alignment policy, he would provide me better service. Today, I scheduled an appointment online for wheel alignment (5000 miles since my last), checked in with Carlos, with only a few cars in the bay and parking lot and returned two hours later and was told that my car had not been serviced. I have told Chris about my issues and thought the problem was resolved but apparently they haven't. I have contacted their corporate office. read more

I went in for an oil change and was notified that the water pump was leaking, something that was supposed to have been replaced by the Jeep dealership less than a year ago, as well as another issue. I came to this location after noticing a nail in my tire to see if it needed repair. When I asked about the cost, the person inside immediately said it would be $25-30 without even looking at the tire. On top of that, they told me for an extra $30 cash to the person fixing it, they could make it "faster." Completely unacceptable to demand cash tips just to speed up service--especially without even checking the issue first. I will never return to this location. read more

The Evans La Mesa team saved the day when I got a flat tire (thanks to whoever littered a vape pen cartridge in a parking lot)! I had bought my tires from them before and Carlos ordered me a new tire overnight, said it would be max $60 if it needed to be replaced. But even better is that John was able to patch up my original tire, so I paid $0!! I appreciate their honesty and getting me in quickly for the fix. I have been a long time customer with Evans tires. Me, my wife, and my son all have tires from this company on our cars right now. I work in La Mesa and live about 25 minutes away. After work, I found that one of my tires was flat. found this location on Yelp and drove over to get some help so I can make it home. Before I could even finish explaining my situation, Carlos cuts me off to say they will not be able to touch it until tomorrow. He says they have too much work and they want to get off at 6. He even said they already have a car that is gonna have to wait until tomorrow. So I try again to explain I have far to go and to ask if he could prioritize the workload again. Maybe there is something that could wait long enough to at least put my spare tire on so I could get home. Right a way, Carlos says, "So you're the primary?" like if I'm some jerk just trying to get my way. Nah, I'm just trying to get home. I ask again is his guys could use the lift and tools to put on my spare real quick. Maybe a 7 minute job with the right tools. I can't drive like that, I'm just trying to get some help. This guys says if they did that for you, we might as well do the whole job. We want to leave at 6 so we just can't do it. So I end up putting on my own spare tire right there in the Evans Tires parking lot. There was one car in the bay getting worked on. Then some car pulled up, and Carlos sends out a mechanic to air up the guys tires for him right next to me. Took about as long as it would have taken them to use the air tools to remove my 5 lug nuts. Worst customer service in history. I WOULD AVOID THIS LOCATION AT ALL COSTS. Just left Evan's Tires. I bought my tires a year and a half ago and got a wheel alignment during that purchase. My tire was low so I asked them to check it because there was a puncture in the tire. They come back and tell me I need 4 brand new tires although my tires are only a year and a half old. They only did the oil change I asked for and did nothing to the tires. They even had me drive home with a tire that had low air. I felt they didn't take care of me as a customer and were more concerned with the up selling of items rather than addressing the issues I raised. It's a tire store that at the minimum should have put air in my tire but instead had me drive home with a car with low air. I ended up going to Discount Tire up the street and they filled the air in my tire and said the tread was fine and I had a few thousand miles left on the tires. Found a new tire store. read more

I recently got an oil change here as they offered a great price for full synthetic. Of course, they called me to inform that I needed to repair something on my car - both front lower control arms. They quoted $1,500 and then said they can bring it down to $1,300. Both are outrageous numbers for this repair. I turned down this repair as I only get any repairs done at my mechanic's shop (not Evan's). I asked the mechanic at Evan's to take some pictures of the parts he was talking about. I also asked him if my car needed to be repaired immediately, he said no but the sooner the better as this issue can cause other major issues. After having anxiety about this repair all week thinking something was wrong with my car & stressing about the cost, I brought my car in to my own mechanic to check it out. He put my car up and showed me the part and said "No, you definitely have at least a couple of years left on these parts". Honestly, shame on Evan's for trying to sell me a $1,300 repair. Ridiculous. Will not be coming here again. I knew something was off as soon as they mentioned I needed to repair my control arms as my car was/is not making any noises and no vibration in my steering wheel. read more

Evans did a thorough inspection of the the tires and axles and recommended several needed repairs, which the other places did not mention. Evans fixed several problems and installed 4 new tires. I bought tires with a 70,000 mile warranty. Three years and 42,000+/_ miles later, the tread was nearly gone. When asked to make good on the mileage warranty, the manager told me I was out of luck because I did not have Evans Tires regularly check my alignment. I was shocked given that 1) They never mentioned that regular alignments had to be performed at their stores at the time of purchase. 2) I had Evans rotate the tires every 4,000+/- miles and they never mentioned a problem with them. 3) I had an alignment done before I got the new tires and checked the alignment again during the three years before the tires wore out. If you read other Yelp reviews from a variety of Evans Tire locations, you will find more reports about Evans scamming customers by not honoring "warranties". Expect Evans Tires to ultimately reward you with broken promises and rudeness if your tires underperform later on. Buyer beware! read more

Let me say before I start, these guys have been doing great service on my truck. So I brought my tuck here last Friday to fix a slow leak in my left front tire. This held up a couple of days and the problem came back. Brought my truck back this morning to fix the leak and have an oil change and tire rotation. Left the store and decided to check my tire pressures while driving and saw that the left front tire is still soft. Now am back at the store and no one has asked me why am back. I have spent thousands of dollars over the years at Evan's tire. I have always recommended all my friends and family there who have also spent a ton of money. I will never recommend anyone to the La mesa location ever again and make sure my family and friends never go there again. Shady af! I went in for a routine oil change and rotation. I had my own oil and filter because I have ran Mobil 1 since I owned the car and had an oem oil filter. First the shady ass salesman (Carlos I believe) said he was going to charge me double what I normally pay for the same service, then the new manager came out (Chris?)and told me they don't do that anymore!(which is bullshit). They had an empty shop and with this type of service, I assume it will stay empty. I even told one of the mechanics I know as I left what had happened and he told me they do still provide that service. I went to the other location and they provided the service without hesitation and were also much busier. Corporate needs to fire the shady salesman and manager at the La mesa location. I probably came on bad day. I went in for new tires and an alignment. Make sure to have a lot of free time if you plan on waiting. I waited about 2.5 hrs which isn't bad. Once I got my car back, I noticed a strong vibration. I took the car back and waited another hour. They said they fixed it and rebalanced the tires, but the same issue occured while driving. I didn't want to go back and deal with the same issue. I got the feeling they didn't want to take the time to balance my tires correctly or simply don't know how. Not sure lol. I found somewhere else and they managed to properly balance the tires. They weren't off by too much, but enough to feel the vibrating. Other than that, I got my wheels put on the car perfectly fine so I do appreciate that. I would still go here, probably on a better, less hotter day. read more

Brought my car because the alignment was not done properly buy them. I was asked to sign the electronic pad without being able to read any documents. I asked if I could read the document and then sign. The gentleman told me that I needed to sign, then he could print it. I told him I was not comfortable with that. He began to have attitude and showed poor customer service. At this point the manager stepped in and told me that I can have it printed and then sign, but when I asked why I was told the opposite, manager responded with ambivalence. Summary: Poor customer service Poor quality of work Not wearing mask in the office and not compliant with current CDE guidelines These places deal with so much volume that they really don't care if you don't come back. My car started making a grinding sound when I braked. I saw Evans and pulled in. even though they were super busy on a holiday weekend they managed to get me in. They inspected my vehicle, and diagnosed it. I needed new brake pads and rotors on the front. They were honest about what needed to be done, and they mentioned in the near future my back brakes and rotors needed to be changed but could managed a little longer. They didn't try to sell me extra. I ended up doing both front and back, a brake flush and an oil change. They had all parts on hand, got me out within hours.
