I had a great experience with Alex at Value Auto Repair. I originally reached out through Yelp, and he was responsive and answered all of my questions. His pricing was significantly better than what the dealership quoted me, but what really stood out wasn't just the price--it was his honesty. I came in with a humming noise that I believed was a bad wheel bearing but was unsure. Alex was upfront from the beginning after making the same diagnosis and even encouraged me to get quotes from other mechanics if it made me feel more comfortable so I could make sure I was getting a fair deal. That kind of confidence and transparency is hard to find. When I arrived, he was able to get my car in within about 30 minutes to diagnose it. While the part was being delivered, I went to lunch, and once I came back, he had the wheel bearing replaced in about 45 minutes. Before I left, he took the time to show me both the old and new wheel bearings, explaining how they worked and letting me hear and feel the difference. I really appreciated him taking the time to educate me instead of just handing me a bill. One thing I noticed while I was waiting was how many customers came in who clearly knew Alex. Everyone seemed genuinely happy to see him, several appeared to be repeat customers, and there was an obvious level of trust between them. After my own experience, I completely understand why. Alex also has a great sense of humor, which made the whole experience much less stressful. Most importantly, the humming noise is completely gone, and my car drives perfectly again. If you're looking for an honest, knowledgeable mechanic who charges fair prices and genuinely cares about his customers, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Alex and Value Auto Repair. I wanted only recommended Subaru oils, antifreeze, spark plugs, etc. Value followed the manufacture's recommendations, which I was very happy. The maintenance was done in a few hours. The prices are competitive, but the trustworthiness is superior. This a great company.

Back in April, when I serviced my 2012 Ford Fusion for a synthetic blend oil change at El Cajon Ford, I was told I needed front and back brakes. I was quoted $600.00 for the front brakes and the.same amount for the back brakes. This amount to me seemed extraordinarily High. I discussed this with an old college buddy and he recommended AAA Smog & Repair Center on El Cajon Boulevard. I had utilized this facility in early May to smog my Ford Fusion. The smog check took a total of 5 minutes to complete and of course my car passed with flying colors. Incidentally, the technician at El Cajon Ford had told me to make sure I get both brakes front and back done in May, as I risked the possiblity of damaging the rotors. Needless to say, I wasn't happy about this as shelling out $1,200 for brakes just isn't in my budget right now. I took my vehicle in for brake servicing at AAA Smog & Repair Center on Friday, June 12th, 2026. Mike, who runs the facility quoted me $375.00 maximum for front brake disc replacement. The work was done in about 2 and 1/2 hours, and the total with tax came out to $394.00. Mike inspected my back brakes and told me there is no way that the back brakes need to be replaced right now. As a matter of fact, he told me the back brakes have at least a year's worth of life left in them. And he explained, as we all know, that the front brakes handled about 80% of braking requirements. I left this facility having paid out a total of $394.00 as stated above.Wow!! On a one to five star rating, if I could give this auto repair facility 10 stars I certainly would. Mike and his wonderful crew got the job done in just a couple of hours and didn't try to break the bank. And unlike other facilities (like El Cajon Ford) he doesn't recommend work that doesn't need to be done. Mike is the most honest service technician/manager I have ever met. This is the kind of auto repair facility one finds in small sleepy towns, located far away from the hustle and bustle of the big city. For example, windshield wiper replacement at this facility runs $11.99 per blade in contrast to Discount Tire, who is selling their wiper replacement blades for around $35.00.. Auto Zone comes in at a few dollars less and El Cajon Ford is off the charts for even a simple replacement part such as windshield wiper replacement blades. This price of this one part serves as a metaphor regarding the fact that this facility cares about us customers in charging the fairest priced for parts and labor possible. They truly care about the customer. This auto repair facility has earned my very highest recommendation. As referenced above, they are not out to break the bank And as a matter of fact, Mike and the crew are trying to save the consumer as much money as is humanly possible in this day and age. Additionally, this facility offers DMV registration renewal, allowing the consumer to skip the long lines at the DMV. They also offer body work and basically anything can be done under the hood.The one thing they don't specialize in is oil changes, though the facility will in fact order the oil and filter required if an oil change is absolutely necessary when other work is being done. Let's face it, all companies are in business to make a profit, of course. The problem, with so many companies out there, is that they gouge the customer, to make a huge profit and are charging prices that are probably 500 to 1000 percent above what should be reasonably and morally charged for parts and services way above what most consumers can actually afford. This company is different. They are charging an extremely fair price thereby saving consumers a ton of money that those other huge companies love to just swallow up with their overinflated high end prices. My warmest thanks and "hats off" to Mike and his gallant crew!! I'll be back at this shop for electrical work in August or September. I wholeheartedly recommend everybody out there consider utilizing this auto repair facility before shelling out those big bucks at those other well known large facilities. Thanks again!!

I always do my research, and unfortunately my assessment turned out to be correct even before Allman completed their diagnostics. Mike at Allman spent a great deal of time walking me through different scenarios and options, providing detailed estimates for each. I also requested additional estimates, including a full engine replacement, so I could make a fully informed decision. While their estimate was less than dealership service departments, it was slightly higher than another independent shop. After researching the difference, I found it came down to Allman using OEM parts rather than cheaper aftermarket parts made overseas. I don't use cheap parts on my vehicles, so that made the decision easy. Once I felt fully comfortable, I chose Allman and I'm glad I did. Mike kept me informed throughout the process, and my Jeep was back on the road even earlier than estimated. Thank you, Allman Family Auto, for the honesty, transparency, and quality work.

Great work and very professional. I've been a mechanic for most of my life so when I came to Jesse's with my ideas on my '04 SRT-4, he heard me out on everything and then had some input based on his vast experience. I trusted his judgement and could not have been happier with the results. Much better than I expected and now my car sounds amazing. From the time I called to make sure they had the parts I needed in stock to the time the job was finished, which included a bit of welding, it took about 1-1/2 hours. And that's with a 20 minute drive there! Very easy to talk to, very cheap prices, clean & organized shop with a well stocked inventory, and very high quality work. I wish I would have taken pictures so I could post them, but I was thrown off by how fast they worked and how good it looked/sounded. I will post them up later though. Just got my exhaust system today and these dudes were efficient, accurate and very professional. I told them a week out that I needed to get the exhaust system put on before I left the states and it was looking like it wouldn't happen due to a lack of the parts. They pulled some strings and made it happen, even went as far as going to FedEx to get the parts at 8 in the morning because they would not deliver till 2 in the afternoon. Once the parts got in they got straight to work and took a total of 30 minutes to due the install. Now my car purrs like a bobcat. I also heard them talking to another customer about a catalytic converter replacement. They gave her a discount on the changeout based on what they think they would get for the old one, about $90. Most others that I have dealt with don't do that. From what I experienced dealing with them they are professional, honest and not greedy. read more

Always has jokes to say to make one feel comfortable but also gives the best prices out there that no one can beat. this guy right here knows what hes talking about when you wanna get something done with your ride, hes got so many experience that when your there the service is fast and also professionally installed, took my honda and jeep in and i was amazed by how much i saved on my two rides. Working with Jesse was great! Called friday afternoon, was penciled in to have a Tanabe cat back exhaust for my Toyota 86 installed next morning. Jesse and his crew were quick, made adjustments to make sure the exhaust was sitting right, and gave the muffler a quick polish. His crew also helped me pack up the heavy stock system into the back of my car. Tight squeeze but we made it work! I shopped around before calling Jesse but ultimately chose him based on price and yelp reviews. In the end I think I got a great deal. (plus they're open Saturdays!) Jesse's the man with the plan I know him for years now and got my first car done at his shop. I gotta tell you the way he welds is like no other he has the best and cleanest work I've ever seen from an exhaust done on any work but not only does he do great exhaust work if you come down here and not know what you really want but you know you want work done he also has great advice and knows what your car needs to also help you obtain what you want so I suggest to go here, if you think of getting any work weld brakes catalytic converter done to your vehicle this is the place to go ! My car was making a rattling noise underneath so I brought it to Jesse's and he diagnosed it perfectly. He was very respectful (no "dumb girl in a Mercedes" treatment like most auto repair places) and even showed me where the problems were when it was on the car lift. Excellent communication during the time we waited on the parts (stupid California laws...) and he got it done so fast! He gave me a great deal and I learned even more about my car! I took my 59 Cadillac to Jesse because the right side hangers were broken and the exhaust pipe was banging underneath the car. He pointed out some additional damage and was very quick to fix it. It ended up costing more than I had originally anticipated but it was well worth the price and actually quite reasonable. He was very conscientious about taking care of my classic car and about making me feel he cared about his work and that he knew what he was doing. Hello everyone, So about a year ago I went to Jesse and got a flowmaster installed and just found out its a cheap brand that you can find on eBay. Thanks Jesse for the high performance flowmaster. If you have ever got a flowmaster from Jesse check it and see if he did install the right one. Sucks that I had to pay some one else to install a flowmaster, but know it sound 100% better. P.S. Looking for a great deal on a after market exhaust? Jesse's is the place to go in Lemon Grove. I shopped all over San Diego for a deal and couldn't locate one that was reasonable. Jesse took care of me today on a DC Sports system on my 2010 Nissan Altima. When I drove it away the sound was perfect and nice and deep as promised. Pure Quality. Do to timing, my experience seemed to drag on. People with appointments had priority, I understand. I must have driven by about a dozen times. Every time I did, they were on another car. The best shop in San Diego for brake jobs and complete exhaust systems to your liking. I have been going to Jesse for the past twenty years. From simple to custom jobs, he has always done great work and at great prices. His shop even gets jobs from government agencies since the prices are about half of what they are at the dealerships and some other shops. Happy to say my husband was ecstatic with the custom exhaust work that Todd and his team did on his 1967 Fastback; installing a pair of stainless steel Borla mufflers while keeping pipes tight and working around constraints like the oversized driveshaft and subframe interconnect safety hoop. He even offered to demo a few of the options as he performed the work so we could be confident in our decision. Fantastic service and interaction #3. This is the kind of business where all the staff embrace making the customer comfortable and knowledgeable to understand what the work will entail and what options you have to choose from. They are the experts and share their knowledge, along with honest recommendations. It is not usual to find a business like this, whether it is an auto shop, restaurant, etc. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for any or all of the auto services they offer.
