I called into the call center the day before to get a quote for my tires and make an appointment. I made an appointment for Wednesday at 1:30pm, but after calling Evan's tires back they said I could come in any time because they had the tires in stock. I came in at 10am Wednesday am for them to tell me that they didn't have the tires in stock. I explained to the rep that I needed to leave town by 2pm to beat Thanksgiving traffic and he assured me the tires would be in by 11am. I went to sbux to work and by 1pm I started growing concerned, so I called. The rep told me that the tires had not arrived yet, but they'd be there soon. This was 3 hours after I dropped my car off. Not once, did the store attempt to call me. I had to go get my car and go to Discount Tire down the street, where they provided EXCELLENT service and a cheaper price than Evan's. I was in and out of Discount Tires in 45 min, however I ended up having to leave the next day for my family's, as I couldn't get my car until 3pm and was facing 5-6 hours of traffic. Evan's Tires completely ruined my Thanksgiving plans due to their inability to communicate. The rep was kind to me and apologized after, which I appreciated, but I wasted my entire day because of their actions. I absolutely will not be back. read more

Had a blow out on 5 south between Garnet & Clairemont Drive. AAA changed my tire and we immediately drove to Evans for new tires after my wife called them in advance. Got to Evans and the rudest old man made us wait for 30 minutes with no other customers present. When I tried to ask questions he went to the phone. When I asked for an estimate another customer came in and he left me hanging while he talked to the new customer. He finally returned and at 4:30pm he told me to come back tomorrow at 9am. Next day at 8:45am my wife took the car back to Evans and waited over 2 hours being told that 2 cars were in front of her. Besides the facility being filthy, the driveway had more ruts than our worse streets, and the lack of respect they were more than $100 cheaper than Discount Tire where we had 4 tires replaced that day within 2 hours even though they had twice as many cars being serviced. I don't often give places 1 star reviews because I understand that this can effect their business negatively. However, after dealing with this place for over a year and bring my car in several times I feel I can give this review in good conscious. And I also want to warn people about this place. The short version : don't bring your car here. They will try to take advantage of you. The long version: In ~February of 2019 I was experiencing brake issues with my car. I had taken my car to Evans before for my tires and they were pretty nice so I decided to go there to get my brakes done as well. The first time I took it in for the brakes, it cost me around $300 to fix the issue (I can remember specifically what they did). But it seemed to fix the issue temporarily. Not long after I was still experiencing issues so I took it back but then they charged me another $600 to fix some other issue with the brakes. Keep in mind, I know nothing about cars and I'm just trusting these guys are being honest with me about my needs. So at this point I've already paid a lot to "fix" my brakes. Over the course of the next 9 months, I had to bring my car in FOUR MORE TIMES, experiencing the exact same issue I originally was. Each time they "fixed" the issue and gave some reason as to why it wasn't fixed properly the previous time. They didn't charge me anything those times because it was still under warranty. Fast forward to last week (a year and a half after the 1st time I brought it in) and I was still having the EXACT same issue I started with. I called them again and brought it in AGAIN. The final straw was this time when they said my warranty had now run out and they wanted to charge me $600 now to fix the issue. To fix what they should have fixed in the first place when I paid over $900! I took my car home. I think they just wanted to suck as much money out of me as they could because it was obvious I don't know anything about cars. Either that, or they really don't know what the hell they're doing. It makes me so angry that to this day I can not safely drive my car because of them. Ps. As a bonus side story... one of the (many) times I brought my car in they said that it would be ready the next day. So, the next day I waited and waited for the call it was ready. Finally around 4pm I called to check on it and the guy on the phone literally told me that they had "forgotten" about it and hadn't even gotten started yet. read more

I almost gave these guys 2 stars because they did a good job installing the tires and with the alignment. The problem is that I came in and ordered $250.00 worth of tires I was out having breakfast while waiting and I got the call, oh we have to do an inspection and we discovered you need a new water pump I can put that in for you for $350.00 total, you mean on top of what you're charging me for the tires?, I think I'll let my mechanics take a look at it, I was just there two days ago and they didn't see anything... On and On So I did take it to my guys, TLC Lexus, they showed me that you could see where there was some dried coolant around the pump area but said it probably wasn't anything to worry about, "just keep an eye on it" When someone tries to sell me $350.00 dollars worth of stuff I don't need, they don't get a good rating, nor do they get my return business, instead I warn people, DON'T GO THERE! read more

I've been coming to this location for a couple of years, and have never had an issue, but my last visit left me livid. After trying to get a oil change and tire rotation for nearly a week I finally was able to catch them when they weren't too busy - only to be told that my car would only take a full synthetic oil change. I showed them the owner's manual which specified that regular oil was fine, and pointed out that the last oil change I had was at this location, with regular oil. But apparently, per their new policy, "computer says no" to non-synthetic. Sounds suspiciously like a forced up-sell to me. But the real kicker was the disrespectful treatment displayed by all the employees especially the new manager. He capped of the visit with a "who cares" throw up of his hands when I told him I'd be posting a negative review. Now that's customer service. I had my oil changed down the street at Synfast. They recommend synthetic, but put in the oil I wanted - imagine that. read more

ZERO STAR!! Terrible manager and some employees with attitude. charged me for balancing tires in which they knew they couldn't perform. Came back to get that fixed, they ended up telling me they couldn't do balancing in the first place (they didn't tell me so then, and charged me). Now they placed some cheap snake oil balancing beads (which didn't do anything). I now have to go to another place to remove those beads and get all tires properly balanced. This post is way overdue as this situation happened in October of 2018 and if I could, I would give them negative stars. My husband and I visited this shop to get our tires changed and alignment done on two cars VW Passat and my X1 Beemer at the same time. We left the cars and went for a walk with an expectation to show up within less than 2 hrs and both of them would be ready. When we came back we found out that VW was done but my Beemer hasn't been touched to find out that the shop lost my Beemer's key and they couldn't do anything about changing tires etc....they didn't call us to tell us about the situation because supposedly they were trying to find the key....How do you lose a key? It still is a mysterious accident, considering they take your home address etc. The shop could have called us immediately so we could go back home to bring a spare key tentatively until the key is found...the key was never found and for all we know it could have been stolen ....cutting long story short the Beemer required new key to be purchased for $270 and reprogrammed for $170 by the dealer. It was a hassle with the shop to be reimbursed and the shop only partially gave us money back because we refused to wave shops liability in case it gets stolen. I was so shocked and disappointed how they handled our matters and only that day we lost several hours ....dealing with them and demanding reimbursement. Reprogramming the car keys however didn't change the physical keys and to do that the dealer quoted over $2000 to change all key locks on the doors. When we tried to speak with management they told us to file an insurance claim against the shop so the key locks can be replaced....what a hassle. I found the shop disorganized and poorly managed. I will never visit this shop again and say STAY AWAY!!! read more

I have a 2002 Subaru Outback L.L. Bean and little did I know that on an all wheel drive I had to get 4 new tires! I found through other shops that was going to cost close to $600 out the door. That was not even in my budget. I called Evans and they quoted me $295.51 out the door for 4 quality tires, 50,000 miles. When I got there they told me the wheel lock was missing for my tires. Last place I got my tire fixed for a flat was discount tire in Encinitas in 2014. I called Subaru and would have needed to go in to get it measured and then it would take 2 weeks to order in. Evans did not charge me for having to break that lock on all 4 tires which normally costs $20 a piece. They will have repeat business from me and I will refer them to others as well. This kind of customer service is a rarity these days. This is the place to go for new tires! Both Luis and Shoko are awesome guys, very friendly and aim to please and there are comfortable chairs while you wait. I can't say enough about the quality of service. I'll be back! read more

I was visiting San Diego and realized I had a flat tire. I was scheduled to drive back to San Francisco the next day. The staff at Evans were a life saver. I went to this location today around 3:00pm. The people were nice and very well mannered however none of the workers were wearing a mask or any safety percussions. The front desk worker was not as well and it was a bit uncomfortable because of this whole pandemic. All the customers that walked in including myself were wearing masks. I went to Evans to get new tires .Which was cheaper than anywhere else I checked as for as prices and service quality. Eddy assist me with everything as what specific size that goes my car. II purchased the tires and oil change . Was my car was getting worked on the Tech discovered I had brake fluid leaking From my brakes. Eddy told dont worry we will figure it out for you. The Tech did a diagnostics check tightening the brake line and told me if it dont work you will need to go with option B Which was brakes shoes and calibers . I drove it for a few days as The Evan Tech said . It didn't work so I scheduled and appointment on my next day . And GOT THE WORK Done I must say everything is perfect my car rides smoother and handles well. I Took it on A test Drive after the new tires and brakes to the mountains on the 8 east my car proformance was fantastic I highly recommend this Evan Tire location that Eddy and and his staff was wonderful and very knowledgeable. read more
