This was my first home birth experience. As a patient I should be able to ask questions, express fears, in hopes to gain knowledge and reassurance back from my midwife. A few days later, I get a call from them saying they can no longer see me and think a hospital birth would be more fitting. Mind you, I am 31 weeks pregnant. Healthy pregnancy, no reason for a hospital birth. All I did was ask what they do in an instance of a mother bleeding too much, or tearing ect. They not only pocketed $1600 from me, but dropped me high and dry so late into my pregnancy because I asked what do they do in a "what if" instance were to happen. As mothers, and going the unmedicated home birth route, or even a birthing center route, we should be allowed and welcomed to talk about these types of things with our midwife. I am absolutely shocked from the care we have received from them and how we were so poorly managed. They claim they're a faith based Christian center, but I see no grace, compassion, or anything Christian about how we were handled. Mothers, please find somewhere else. Would hate for you to express or even ask a simple question and they take your money and drop you.

We hired Katie as our doula and unfortunately, although she was supposed to be on call for us starting at 36 weeks, when I actually went into labor (past my due date), she did not answer her phone. We tried repeatedly to contact her via text and phone for over 3 hours. At that point, she finally answered her phone and we asked her to come out to assist us. She said she would be there in about an hour but didn't show up until 2 hours later with no text or call to let us know she was running behind. She missed the entirety of our labor and the birth of our child, thoroughly defeating the purpose of having a birth doula. To her credit, she did provide a partial refund for the services she did not provide, but we felt that the refund should have been in full since she didn't provide the services we had agreed upon. I made several attempts to reach out to her regarding my dissatisfaction but she refused to respond to me. Overall, we were incredibly disappointed by this experience and we would not be able to recommend Katie to anyone. This might have been a one off goof on her part, but I would have expected her to make more an effort to fix things on the back end. After all, everyone makes mistakes, and if it had been my mistake and I was supposed to be on call and didn't hold up my end of the bargain, I would have been mortified enough to provide a full refund to my disappointed customer.

Baby girl delivered 100% naturally, 10 lbs 4.4 oz, 22 inches long, and a giant head (92nd percentile I believe). No stitches. Quick postpartum recovery. And when baby girl's shoulder got stuck, Ashley knew exactly how to move baby and I to get her out with no injury to anyone. I was able to walk out and go home 3.5 hours after delivery... talk about non-traumatic. I know that would have been a different story if I stayed at the hospital. I'll always be so thankful for Ashley and her sweet assistant. Her birthing center is so lovely too. The drive over there puts me in a good mood because of how serene it is. The center itself is so clean and private and comfortable. It felt like heaven compared to the discomfort I felt at the hospital. The way she listened and educated was really empowering and healing in and of itself. The way she cared for me (and my 2 year old) at each visit really surpassed expectations and I always left motivated and excited for the next visit. Being truly cared for in a medical setting is not common. All of this resulted in the easiest and quickest labor which was a huge answered prayer.
