My pregnancy with my first was an overall good experience-but left me feeling a bit like a number and not a person. This pregnancy, I had so much more energy and felt much less anxious-and I owe it all to Becky's support and encouragement. "Normal" pregnancy symptoms weren't over looked and she had recommendations and cared to help me navigate every step. The way she listened and educated was really empowering and healing in and of itself. We had hour (or longer) visits and access to talk with Becky between visits in an online portal-which gave no time for concerns to fester. The way she cared for me (and my 2 year old) at each visit really surpassed expectations and I always left motivated and excited for the next visit. Being truly cared for in a medical setting is not common. All of this resulted in the easiest and quickest labor which was a huge answered prayer. She is intentional, very knowledgeable, and hilarious. Every pregnant mama needs a Becky! We were a little nervous about the cost initially-but the value and services included make Dallas Birth really a great value. So many things were included that we paid out of pocket for our first-lactation services, placenta encapsulation, birth tub, birth classes, pregnancy teas, and probably a lot more that I'm not thinking of or didn't need. And we can submit a claim to insurance after to get reimbursed. I also loved that I didn't have to research different services-Becky takes care of everything.

We hired Katie as our doula and unfortunately, although she was supposed to be on call for us starting at 36 weeks, when I actually went into labor (past my due date), she did not answer her phone. We tried repeatedly to contact her via text and phone for over 3 hours. At that point, she finally answered her phone and we asked her to come out to assist us. She said she would be there in about an hour but didn't show up until 2 hours later with no text or call to let us know she was running behind. She missed the entirety of our labor and the birth of our child, thoroughly defeating the purpose of having a birth doula. To her credit, she did provide a partial refund for the services she did not provide, but we felt that the refund should have been in full since she didn't provide the services we had agreed upon. I made several attempts to reach out to her regarding my dissatisfaction but she refused to respond to me. Overall, we were incredibly disappointed by this experience and we would not be able to recommend Katie to anyone. This might have been a one off goof on her part, but I would have expected her to make more an effort to fix things on the back end. After all, everyone makes mistakes, and if it had been my mistake and I was supposed to be on call and didn't hold up my end of the bargain, I would have been mortified enough to provide a full refund to my disappointed customer.

My husband and I decided at 36 weeks pregnant that it would be the best choice…read morefor us to add a doula to our birth team for reasons of wanting advocacy, mental and physical support for both of us. We contacted several Doulas that we had found by researching online and received a response from T'Arah at Mother Bear Doula Services within hours. T'Arah promptly answered our initial questions and we ended up scheduling to meet in person to talk more in depth about our expectations, wishes, past experiences, etc.. Soon after arriving at the coffee shop, just myself with my toddler in tow, we ordered some drinks and snacks and settled at a table to get to know each other. Of course it wasn't long before my son became antsy and distracted; but Tarah immediately came to the rescue, pulling coloring supplies out of her bag and playing Paw Patrol on her phone for him to watch. I had barely met her and she was already such a great help to me! ;) I felt an instant comfortability with T'Arah; I was totally comfortable with going into detail of my previous birth, which had been a traumatic experience, and could sense that she was sincerely invested in mine and my husband's concerns, wishes and preferences.. She listened, asked questions, provided advice and input and acknowledged my feelings. We shared personal stories and got to know each other more in depth than just birth related topics. More than interviewing her to be our Doula, I felt like I had just made a friend who helped me to feel excited and empowered to give birth! A few short weeks later, and after meeting with T'Arah a few more times as well as going to the hospital tour together, it was time to have our baby! I had hoped and dreamed that this birth would progress naturally, without induction, but when the time came, there were reasons for my husband and myself to ultimately decide that induction would be the safest course of action for getting our baby out as soon as we could. I was initially heartbroken and scared, but Tarah was there every step of the way, going out of her way to teach us natural labor inducing techniques which did actually help tremendously, as well as staying available to text or call for anything we needed. When the time came to be induced and start our Childbirth journey, T'Arah was present and alert, providing all the support we both needed from walking, getting snacks/drinks, talking, joking, massaging, physically holding me up, counseling, calming, etc.. in spite of being induced, T'Arah encouraged us in taking every step we could to have a birth that we truly wanted, and I succeeded in taking it one step at a time to have the natural birth I had wished for without further intervention. T'Arah played a key role in helping me have a birth experience that I am proud of and I will always be grateful to her for that. We will definitely have T'Arah as our Doula for any future babies!

I made a payment on April 4, 2024. Eve missed our onboarding call and blamed it on a client being…read morein labor for 5 days straight. (Photos attached) Had I not reached out to her after our missed appointment, she had no plans to contact me to apologize or reschedule. Our first (doula) session was not scheduled to take place until May 18, 2024. (Photo attached) I canceled due to her lack of communication and I had to call my bank to dispute the transaction because she said she had a no refund policy. Even though NO SERVICES were rendered which the contract had confirmed. I will follow up with this review once my bank grants my full refund of $500. (Which was my first installment amount) Very disappointing how Eve constantly called and text me and followed up for me to make this first payment just to ghost me our onboarding call and then to tell me that I couldn't get a refund because she has a refund policy. No services were rendered. She should not have harassed me to make a payment, knowing that it was non-refundable. If I could give 0 stars, I would. Review says Massengill (my old name under this email address) but I signed up under my legal name Ashley Grayson. Just in case she says that she has no record of Client by my name. Hope this helps someone else. The dates on these screenshots show that she conducts bad business to not offer a refund on Services that she knows were never even started let alone completed.

Her energy and love are attributes of someone who makes sure that others needs are met before hers. You automatically feel like family when you meet her and in my case the sister that I could add to the bunch. When I told Eve I was expecting, not only was she elated, but also supportive. She immediately began preparing for the birth of my child, although, I was only five minutes pregnant! There were times when I felt like giving up, however, she was someone that I could send a quick text to for a quick pick me up. You get nine months of genuine love from someone who has your best interest at heart, and from someone who doesn't sugar coat the journey. I went into my pregnancy thinking that I was going to have another c-section, however, with Eve's help I brought my baby earthside with a vaginal birth. I am so grateful for her being by my side during my labor! She prepared my partner for the journey, and together they were AMAZING!! When I was in labor, she was my voice of reason to the hospital staff, and I truly believe that if she hadn't been there with my partner the staff would have done the bare minimum for us. Again, I am convinced that God made no mistake when he brought Eve into my life as my friend, sister and now MY DOULA! Did I mention she came to Minnesota to help birth our baby!!! I am forever grateful for her because of the peace she brought me during my journey into motherhood. She would consistently checkup up on me, asking about my health and wellbeing. She was a wealth of knowledge pertaining to evidence based information on pregnancy, labor and delivery, breastfeeding, and postpartum care. I am so thankful for her knowledge and care during those very painful first few weeks of breastfeeding, I really don't think Luca and I would have been as successful without her! I completely underestimated what role she would play during my labor, she was vital to my mental state through the whole thing. When I was ready to give up around every corner, she was there to remind me of my strength and that what I was going through was normal and the pain was only temporary. Something I appreciated most were the scriptures she read to me that lifted my spirit and helped bring joy to my pain. After 30 hours of labor I was exhausted physically and mentally, and she said a prayer over us that brought tears to my eyes and renewed my strength. She knew when to crack a joke to make me laugh, when to reassure me with words of affirmation, and when to just be silent and comfort me with her presence...I call that a great friend! She also made sure I was always taking little sips of water or nibbles of food. She was always 10 steps ahead of me and my discomfort. Her postpartum visits were everything! Just having someone come over to check on my husband and me, mentally and physically, meant the world. When the rest of the world couldn't wait to hold the baby, she was there to hold my hand and tell me that everything was going to be okay. I actually cried at our last visit because I had grown so attached to her! I like to think it wasn't just the hormones talking! I can't forget to mention that this amazing woman spent 16 hours giving me counter pressure on my hips with EVERY contraction! She noticed as soon as I stopped coping with contractions as well and was always there to change positions, provide hip squeezes, or give another idea or encouragement. She fanned me with a paper fan with peppermint oil on it when I was nauseous and helped give me guidance when I was in doubt. She was there for us before, during, and after our birth. She also took some wonderful pictures throughout our labor (many more than I posted because many are personal). I was a little unsure about hiring a doula initially and now I couldn't imagine going through labor without her. We will definitely be hiring her for any future births.
