The Vow Exchange though, is an awesome idea and probably perfect for a lot of different situations. We're not looking for a cavernous venue and the fact that The Vow Exchange holds no more than 28 guests (wedding party not included) is actually helpful. We're not feeling obligated to invite everyone we've ever met and actually have a reason why we can't. They have a several options ranging from just the space for an hour to the space, flowers, drinks, a photographer, and an officiant. Prices range from $200 to $1000. The interior is somewhat shabby chic with exposed brick and rough hewn beams, comfortable chairs and benches and wrought iron decor. There's a large overhead door that (I assume) can be opened if the weather permits. Our wedding is scheduled for May - we'll let you know how it goes and update this review then!

Wednesdays are the open co-working day here, and you can simply buzz yourself in from the back of the Accelerator and make yourself (respectfully) at home. If I worked anywhere downtown, I would recommend to my boss and team that we should spend some time here just to shake it up and see what else is around us. During the wedding, a couple friends came up to us and asked, disbelieving, "Where did you FIND this place!? It looks like you BUILT it especially for your wedding. It's just perfect!!" We felt the same way. It was exactly what we were looking for. The space is used as a photography studio during the day, and is used as an event space on weekends and evenings (I believe). It cost us about $3000 + extra fees (security, wait staff, etc), but was definitely worth it. We looked at several loft spaces in the area, and this was head-and-shoulders above the rest. The space is on the second floor of the building, which once served as a Buick dealership during the early 20th century. Remarkably, the space includes a great many original details, such as the car-sized elevator that used to bring cars up to the second floor showroom (VERY useful for bringing a/v gear, musical instruments, etc up to the space), while also feeling very hip and modern. The floors have been beautifully restored, and the colors of the space are very warm and inviting. Whoever restored the space did a fabulous job. We had both our wedding and reception at the space, and our 150 guests were accommodated quite nicely. I would strongly caution against many more than 150, however, or some of your guests won't have a place to sit. The wedding reception was held on one half of the loft, after which a curtain was drawn, and the space was reconfigured by the staff to function as a reception area, complete with tables, a DJ setup, etc. The changeover process took only 15 minutes, and we were able to entertain guests with some live jazz during the interim. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, and Sandy, the event manager, is a dream to work with. Combine this space with flowers from Craig Sole Designs and catering by Chef Nancy Stark, and you're in for a wedding to remember. Everyone told us that our wedding blew them away, and I firmly believe that Berg Event Space was a huge part of our wedding's success.

The manager was such a great help and willing to humor all of my requests. I just loved that it was an out of the way venue, but still in the downtown area! So unique - definitely a gem!

My personal opinion is that the DJ at a wedding is an extremely important part of the event. They control the agenda and can make or break the event. Fortunately, Sound Extreme was awesome and went out of their way to make sure it went off without a hitch. They even provided some props, that to this very day, still are in every conversation about the weddking. Highly recommend them!

Every year people tell us that the entire event (4 hours long) would not have been as fun nor as entertaining without the great music Sound Extreme provided. Kurt works with us to determine what we want/need for the day and his music selection is perfect; it matches the specific activity that is taking place and shifts as the progression of the day shifts. I'm sure that our event would not be as successful as it is without the music and assistance that Sound Extreme provides.
