We had a great time picking out our menu for the event, and Melody was able to provide us with an excellent tasting in advance. They also coordinated all of the rentals for our venue, which was a big help since our venue didn't have its own stock. The food was delicious, and the pricing was really reasonable. Eventfull catered our wedding at the Brooklyn Historical Society this past September. Let's just say Eventfull played an important part in making our wedding day memorable. We enjoyed working with Melody throughout the process as she was very accommodating and down-to-earth. We had looked at several caterers during our wedding planning phase and found Eventfull was the most affordable and responsive. We had done a food tasting (with wine) and that basically sealed the deal. During the wedding planning phase, I lost count of how many times we changed/added to the menu of hors d'oeuvres and meal selection. It was a great feeling that I was in control and can have a say in what type of food I wanted and liked. We also decided to do a wine/beer tasting a month before our wedding. Melody was not phased at all and even sent us a few options on what we can do for the layout as well as the disposable wine glasses we should use. Let's just say the wine/beer tasting was probably the best & classiest part of the wedding. I can continue to give more and more examples of how accommodating and how we noticed the little things Eventful did. The servers that worked our wedding day were incredibly professional. One of the servers was designated to serve us. He kept giving my husband a glass of beer everytime he was nearly finished with his drink (good and bad...) Some great pros: - Eventful is willing to work with Heights Chateau and American Beer Works in providing alcohol - Eventful food pricing is affordable - Melody made herself available over email, text, phone call and in person For the newlyweds, one word of advice is to prepare of unforeseen costs as there will be costs such as staff costs that you won't know until the day after. read more

Melody catered our wedding in May at the Brooklyn Historical Society and I could not have been happier that we hired her. If we had to do it all over again, I would absolutely hire Melody in a heartbeat, which is not something I can say for all of our other vendors. She was organized and accommodating. I was planning our NY wedding from California, and she was always available whenever I was in town to meet me. She was responsive and I was 100% confident that the day would run smoothly with her in charge. The waitstaff the day of were prompt, well-dressed, courteous, polite, and were exceedingly professional. On to the most important thing: the food. The food was absolutely delicious. Three weeks later, my husband is STILL dreaming (and talking frequently) about how delicious the salmon was. My grandmother ate her entire plate of food, and she claimed that "she has NEVER finished an entire plate of food in her entire life". People were floored with how delicious the hors d'oeuvre were (especially the steak with chimichurri sauce) and how great the entrees were. Also, an amazing touch that just exemplifies how thoughtful and amazing Melody is that during the cocktail hour, when bride/groom were busy doing photographs, Melody had the waiter that was assigned to us (bride and groom) come and serve us a plate with ALL the hors-d'oeuvre! What an amazing touch, and was just one example of how Melody understands and anticipates what her clients need. Melody breaks down the pricing (very affordable) into food costs and catering costs. We were aware ahead of time that catering staff gets paid after the event based on their hours worked, which seems very practical and reasonable to me. Being a foodie, I am very picky when it comes to good food. I first tried Eventfull for my baby shower and everyone loved all the selections. The butternut squash lasagna was a hit. Melody (the owner) is easy and pleasing to work with and goes out of the way to accommodate evey request. I have had two fantastic experiences with Eventfull - the most recent was this past Saturday when they catered my son's Bar Mitzvah luncheon. The menu was well conceived and the food was wonderful -- a salmon dish for the adults, sliders and hot dogs for the kids, with vegetarian options for both groups. The service was also exceptional. The waitstaff are considerate and invisible -- unless you need them and then they are at your elbow! Eventfull also catered a latke and champagne affair I worked on for our synagogue -- for 300 people. everyone raved. I have worked primarily with Nigel who is calm, considerate, and creative. I have never seen him ruffled nor have I seen him snap at either his staff or a nervous client. I have complete confidence in him. While I have had only limited contact with Melody, I have found her food to be wonderful and she is friendly and not at all a tempermental chef. I cannot begin to explain how delightful it was to work with Melody and her staff. My husband and I hired her for our wedding reception where we hosted the ceremony, cocktail hour and dinner reception for our small intimate wedding in a naked space in Brooklyn. To begin with, this was a wedding we planned in a week! Since we wanted to keep it small we decided why wait...let's do it now! Upon finding my space on a Monday I had until the following Friday to find a catering company that did it all. I simply did not have the time to coordinate food catering, table and chair rentals, flatware, plate and glass rentals, table clothes etc etc separately. I had to find someone who could coordinate all of those things and also have the customer service excellence to stay in contact with me throughout everything. Melody is the one, she does it all!! Not only is she efficient but she is quick to respond, courteous, professional and detail oriented...even on a time crunch like ours. She got back to me right away after I emailed her with an inquiry through her website and also coordinated via phone calls with my brother and sister-in-law who were helping me with all logistics. Since we rented a naked space we were already accepting the fact that we had to opt for a buffet, although we definitely preferred a formal sit down meal for our wedding but we couldn't be picky given the circumstances. We both come from food and beverage hospitality/management industry so we love the elegance of a sit down meal and our service standards are high and Melody and her staff made it happen. Her menu choices are plentiful and sophisticated. We had a stationary table of assorted tea sandwiches upon guest arrival which her staff ended up passing around which was convenient and a nice touch. After our garden ceremony we had a cocktail hour of passed hors d'oeuvres (4 Choices). Upon seating at our 30 person banquet styled table (that was beautifully adorned with the table clothes, cloth napkins, flatware, plates and wine glasses that she so skillfully coordinated the rentals for), we were served a 3 course meal (salad, main and dessert). She was accommodating with vegetarian options for myself and several guests. The space had a kitchen with a large table where she had the space to do quick, efficient and multiple platings while preparing our courses for a flawlessly expedited and paced out dinner service. Dinner Choices: Chicken Provencal, Stuffed Portabella Mushrooms and Aged Rib Eye all including two sides that we preselected. After dinner her diligent staff cleared the tables and chairs for us to make room for a dance floor and carefully stored them away for the rental company to pick up the following Monday. They also did a great job cleaning up and leaving the kitchen the way they had found it. I had personally organized the bar, beverage and flower arrangements myself, however I know that Melody offers to organize those in her repertoire of services herself which can be extremely helpful for others organizing a similar event. The quality of Melody's customer service, food quality and the professionalism of her staff was amazing and completely up to par. As did another reviewer here, i joined Yelp to post a review. Eventfull catered my daughter's bat mitzvah 4 years ago and my son's this past weekend. Melody, the business' owner and head chef, along with her manager, Matt, were creative, detail oriented (they thought of everything!) patient, professional, etc. Most catered affairs - mass-prepared plates - are nothing special. This weekend our guests were asking the waiters for their cards. Eventfull handled everything - food, flowers, linens, wine - and even made a trip uptown to get a particular challah that i had requested. The room was beautiful, tasteful and bright. I can't say enough good things about Eventfull.nyc (aka Brooklyn Caterers). Our event was a party for 150 guests in a glamorous but bare Manhattan loft space, so we had to bring in absolutely everything except some sofas and chandeliers. Manager Nigel Teare, who worked with us for nearly a year under challenging and complicated circumstances, is just incredible. He was unfailingly understanding, accommodating, and creative in e-mails, phone calls, and meetings, which took place just about daily, and often involved dozens of communications back and forth in a single day. No detail was too trivial for Nigel's full attention, and he never lost his cool with our endless questions. Even though he was working on a full slate of other events, it felt like he was entirely focused on ours. He made proposals, we made modifications, he gave us great advice, and ultimately we came out with a beautiful party where everything Eventfull.nyc was in charge of went off flawlessly. Nigel even kept an eye on things that weren't his responsibility, such as coordinating with the entertainers. In addition to Nigel, the staff was unbelievable. When a guest dropped a plate of food, Eventfull.nyc's waiters scooped up every particle instantly--no chance of anyone slipping and falling. We could ask any member of the staff anything and get a response in a flash--never "I don't know" or "You'll have to go ask someone else." Every single person working the event (and it was very generously staffed) was polite, friendly, attractive and professional yet totally unobtrusive. Every used plate, glass and napkin disappeared in a wink so the room always looked impeccable. The hors d'oevres kept coming no matter where a guest was standing (at many events, if you don't position yourself near the kitchen, you don't get anything but empty platters). We knew about Eventfull.nyc because the co-owner and chef, Melody Ozdenak, has for years donated their catering services to school fundraising events we've attended. So when we needed a caterer for our party, we thought of Eventfull.nyc as a way of thanking them for all they had done--and, of course, because the food was always fabulous. We needed a customized menu: no meat (which was really a pity, because Melody does wonderful meat dishes), no shellfish, and no sit-down serving. So they had to come up with vegetarian, dairy, and fish items that could be served elegant buffet-style over four hours, and satisfy people ages 5 to 90 with every imaginable dietary restriction (nut allergies, gluten intolerance, lactose intolerance, vegetarian, vegan, kosher, etc.). Melody and Nigel came up with a menu that had something for everyone, representing Italian, Asian and Mexican cuisines and ranging from classic pizza for the kids to sophisticated fare that would impress the bi-coastal guest list. They produced a gorgeous cake with colors to match the centerpieces and adorned with a sparkler that shot a couple feet into the air, an array of mini-desserts so everyone could try everything, and a cotton candy machine that was a hit with all ages. Eventfull.nyc also provided adult and children's bars. The kids' choices included virgin pina coladas and strawberry daiquiris that were so good many adults were getting them, and the liquor service did not charge for any unopened bottles, so we would never run short but also did not have to pay for more than we needed. Which brings us to the issue of money. Eventfull.nyc was wonderful about the fact that, while we didn't want to cheap out, we also weren't offering carte blanche to just spend away. With every decision, Nigel would note the associated costs of each option. For instance, when at the last minute we requested their wonderful dumplings, Nigel told us we could include them with the passed hors d'oevres without increasing the total bill, but it would cost extra if they were added to the stationery service. And I never saw a company so cool about getting paid! I've encountered suppliers who demanded a non-refundable deposit during the first exploratory phone conversation, and many don't want to really talk to you until you've committed (but how do you know if you want to commit before you've talked?). Eventfull.nyc never pressured us to sign a contract or put money down. And when the bills came in, there were no surprises. Despite scores of modifications from the initial proposal nearly a year before the event, everything was right in line with the original estimates. We just wish we had another event coming up so we could use Eventfull.nyc again! read more

Melody and Eventfull catered my graduation party and it was nothing short of amazing. I explained to Melody that as a graduating medical student I had only a small budget and instead of turning me away as so many caterers did, she worked with me to come up with an absolutely wonderful menu and service that fit my budget. Not only was her food absolutely delicious (everyone commented how tasty yet light and healthy!) she was so kind and gracious to me and my guests. We had a Diwali (Festival of Lights) cocktail this past weekend. I was nervous as we have a newborn baby but eventfull took care of everything. It was a small event for 25 but the chef melody and bartender walter just rocked. The food was amazing, tasty, and served with elegance. Melody catered my wedding on September 1, 2015. I absolutely was stunned with how perfect it went. Her staff was great! They constantly served the hors 'doeurves on platters that were decorated with colorful flowers. When my guests eyed a waiter coming they stopped their conversation just to grab one of those Skewered Crispy Salmon, BBQ Pulled Pork Sliders, Goat Cheese Fritters. My favorite was the Lemon-Honey Chili Glazed Shrimp.....they were to die for! We always had our waters filled and our wine glasses in our hand. The staff were so great really, I couldn't have asked for better. When my husband and I decide to get pregnant she is going to be the one to cater my baby shower and my child's first birthday and 2nd and everyone after that. I love this caterer! Melody is great! I found her through the knot and my fiancé, at the time, scheduled a tasting with her. They were all my favorite but my new husband really enjoyed the curried coconut shrimp and the BBQ sliders. I devoured the skewered crispy salmon and the gazpacho. After we were set on using Eventfull.nyc we planned to meet at my wedding venue at the Brooklyn Historical Society. I was so happy when Melody told me that she has done numerous events there and she is very familiar with the place. She was so helpful with everything! She even met me at the rental store for us to chose linen's, candles, silverware, ect... Once the wedding day arrived I was obviously very nervous and wanted everything to go perfect and it did =).
