If you want a DJ to bring the PARTY to your wedding, Prive DJ (Charles) is your guy! I had so many of my guests complimenting us on how good the music was and how they wanted to extend the night because it was so much fun. On top of all that, he is by far one of the best vendors to work with, so accommodating, understanding and made every idea we had come to life! For context, we had a Gatsby themed wedding at a mansion that had many rooms for guests to roam around. That meant that Prive DJ had to provide sound coverage through ceremony, cocktail, dinner and reception throughout the entire mansion! Not only was the sound / volume perfect, he really set the mood for our guests in each section. His set-up was so beautiful with tall light towers, beautiful flowers and uplights that are honestly so underrated for making guests want to get up and dance. If the layout of our venue wasn't hard enough, we wanted anime instrumentals, disney, pop songs, roaring 20s jazz renditions of pop songs, chinese pop and EDM through different sections of our wedding day. He made all of our funky crazy music dreams come true. We also had a mix of english, mandarin and cantonese speeches as well. His partner MC Jack was truly wonderful to work with, made everyone all guests feel included and he knew how to work the crowd to make it light and fun. Had Charles as my DJ for my wedding in May 2025 and Jack as the MC. Jack was phenomenal as an MC and Charles was good as well. Planning process was smooth, easy to communicate with and assisted well with timeline. However, toward the end of the wedding night when I was still dancing, the MC pulled me aside and stated "I hate to be the bad guy but the vendors are asking about gratuity" which I'm sure he was mentioning about himself and Charles. Did not appreciate that, considering in the worksheet Charles had sent over prior to the wedding, the bullet point stated "gratuity is OPTIONAL" and the price was over $2k (I did send a tip over the next morning after my wedding which is what I did for ALL my vendors). Upon reaching out, he was able to schedule a call with us the very same night even though it was after regular work hours. The whole presentation he gave us was very appealing with all the cool add-ons he was able to offer and what made him stand out was his ability to offer us Lasers which no other DJs had. Even though he did not have C02 canons like other DJs did, he quickly solved that dilemma and said he would acquire two canons for our special night. He was super friendly and accommodated our requests from personalizing certain songs for our ceremony and entrances while also being flexible with his packages to fit exactly what we wanted to prioritize within our budget. He has been in the business for many years so his experience comes in handy when planning the timeline for the wedding day. He was able to give us a template that made all our musical selections organized and offered his own suggestions on how best to keep the party going. I typically never write reviews, but I just had to for DJ Charles and MC Tunde because they pulled off our event so well that we're already being asked for their contact info! My husband and I are really particular when it comes to our music, so picking the right DJ for our wedding was one of our top priorities. Charles made us feel so comfortable during our first meeting, working within our budget and telling us he would only play what we would want and when we would want it. We gave him a few Spotify playlists and he curated his own mixes based off of those. He was also so on top of playing the right music at the right time. I've been to SO many weddings where the DJ would play the wrong song, start or end it at the wrong time during the ceremony and first dance, and even one where the DJ had to apologize and start the whole song again because he messed something up. Charles was on point with every single instruction we gave him, and we gave him a lot! He was so patient through all of our changes and really was such a joy to work with. As for MC Tunde, we were referred him through another wedding my family attended and he was the best MC we could've asked for. He told us he'd sing a song in Mandarin for us, but because he knew my side of the family spoke Cantonese, he even surprised us with a Cantonese song (to which my cousin screamed, "ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! HE'S AMAZING)! My guests loved him SO MUCH that they asked him to sing another song in English. He was so kind and really got the crowd going. It's so hard to find vendors you could really trust, but I felt comfortable with Charles and Tunde throughout the entire process. There are so many things that go into a wedding that you want to be able to just delegate what you can and forget about it until the week of, which is what happened with Charles and Tunde. Wow I'm not sure where to even start! Charles was the MC and DJ for three celebrations in my family: my Sweet16, my brother's wedding 7 years later, and then my wedding 7 years after that (I know, 15 years!!), and I can whole-heartedly say that each night was so much fun, if not more fun than the last, but all absolutely unforgettable. Focusing more on the wedding stuff here - because my Sweet16 was a long time ago - we first hopped on a call to discuss what we're looking for and Charles was fully prepared to show us the four different packages that he can offer, which includes the basics like time, sound systems, lighting, special effects, etc. He also offers some add-ons like uplights, photo booth, accessories, photo montages, and so on. My hubby and I had a clear idea of what we wanted, so he made it easy for us to choose a package plus some special options. There are a couple things you have to fill out for him (besides contract/venue stuff), like the schedule of events and the name list for when the bride & groom/parents/bridal party make their epic entrance to reception. When you fill these out, you'll also have to make note of all the music (artist/title) you want played and when you want to play it. We wanted him there for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception so we got music flowin everywhere throughout the day and night. All we had to do was filled out his forms and send him our Spotify playlist - so simple! Charles made is so easy to plan this part of our wedding. Everything was so smooth sailing that it was almost sus. Our wedding was pretty big - 300 people at Oheka Castle - but I trust him completely. I knew he would give us his 1000% and that's exactly what he did. The music, lighting, and just pure energy was so unbelievable. People who don't normally dance were even up there doing their thing, and those who do just ripped the dance floor. We had people coming up to us during and after (even weeks after!) the wedding telling us that they had the time of their lives, including the elders which was definitely a pleasant (yet unexpected) surprise. As an interracial couple, Latino and Chinese, we wanted to make sure we incorporated both of our cultures through our music. Charles was so receptive to our ideas and did a phenomenal job incorporating all of our requests. During the planning process, Charles was patient and answered all of our questions. On the day of our wedding, Charles was extremely helpful and worked with us to practice our first dance and get a preview of the cold sparklers. The equipment he used, including speakers, lighting, and cold sparklers were of high quality. Our families danced the entire night to a mix of various genres (Bachata, Merengue, Reggaetón, Pop, EDM, Chinese). The music transitions were perfect and we had so much fun! We hired him for our Brooklyn wedding and from the first introductory zoom meeting, we could tell he was very prepared and organized, with a list of questions not just about our music taste but also about what kind of experience we wanted our guests to have. Wow... . My wife and I stumbled across Charles from a friend and had a feeling he would be the right DJ for our wedding. We were NOT disappointed in the slightest and if anything, he laid down one of the hardest sets we've heard in a while. I was very picky about my playlist with what kind of music we would like (house/trap/hiphop) and my god, did he deliver. From lighting, sound quality, and MC Tunde being an amazing MC/host, EVERYONE was praising about how great they were. We had such an amazing and seamless experience working with Charles for our wedding! He was extremely responsive, always responding to emails promptly and available if you have any questions. We had quite a few song changes we wanted to make for our first dance/entrances and he orchestrated everything perfectly. During our final meeting we did a run through and there were no hiccups at all on the big day! We shared a playlist of songs we liked and he totally understood the vibe of the guests. Cocktail hour music was perfect and everybody was up and dancing during reception. We didn't meet MC Tunde until the day of the wedding - but he was such a fun time! My side (Mandarin) and my husband's side (Cantonese) found him super entertaining and we played a few games which everyone had a blast during! MC Mason and Dj Charles were awesome at our wedding! Even though we had last minute changes, Charles and Mason were very accomodating and made the wedding last minute planning stress free.
