Was walking by down park Avenue and googled for Mexican food and found this small restaurant! There were lots of people buying here and I thought to try this. From outside, it looked really small shop, but the food here was good. It's almost like a hidden gym between so many other big restaurants in Park Avenue and Lexington... One good thing is they had a good and big smile .. The guy taking orders was patient and gave good information... they didn't have much varieties for vegetarians and hence I went with falafel over rice.. I know it is a bit weird to buy falafel in a Mexican restaurant but the dish looked good and appetizing .. They also have combo offers and I didn't know much about that. I think they give a free soda or water with the meal... there is also a 15% discount for healthcare workers which I did not know too.. wish they had the 15% discount right next to the billing counter.. While walking around Midtown, just before heading home, we stopped by Cinco de Mayo for some quick Mexican dinner. This space is small, but filled with all types of popular Mexican dishes. My friend and I each got a burrito as well as a quesadilla for another friend. My burrito was packed with brown rice, guacamole, a bit of stake, tomatoes, peppers and cheese. These burritos are massive, they are messy, and so fresh. They were seasoned just right. There is no classy way of eating a burrito, just be sure not to have any evidence on your shirt. I am embarrassed to say I had an entire burrito on my own. I planned to have half, but it was so good, and I was so hungry... There is indoor seating. One thing I don't like is their pricing structure, if you try to order using their website which is powered by ChowNow, they charge the same or similar prices to UberEats/DoorDash AND sometimes include a $1-2 "Support Local" fee which is absolutely unacceptable. One of my go-to spots during lunch in midtown east, with reasonable prices for the area. They're friendly and even recognize me now because I go so often. There's typically no line and most of the clientele is construction workers so that's a good sign to me. I usually get a burrito bowl with onions and peppers. They also offer falafels, if that's more your speed. The verde and spicy salsas are both really good - I suggest getting both and seeing which one is more your speed. The spicy one definitely has a kick to it so be forewarned. I've never sat down to eat here but there's always tables available, at least during lunchtime, and it's always clean. read more
