Having an awesome time. Been a member since July this year. There are some great people in this club. I have made many lifelong friends already. Just pick what you want to do and there be good people to join you. Go from there!

I have enjoyed my time in the club. Yes it is expensive, but I would not have gotten to do some of the things I got to do with out the club. There are lots of different ages of people and people have been welcoming and supportive. I have had nothing but positive experiences.

E&A is a great club. It one of those clubs the more you put in the more you get out. The more events you go to the more people you meet (And there are some great people in the club) the more friends you make.

I am incredibly unhappy with my membership. I started out going to a few events, but I felt really uncomfortable at them. I think this is based on the fact that people were typically quite a bit older than me, and the people I met seemed to be of a different mindset than I am. (Ex: the only person I thought was maybe hitting on me has children my age.) I haven't been to many events since the first month because I didn't enjoy the experiences that I had. To be fair, I should have educated myself more on the cost before I signed up as well. If you aren't aware, like I wasn't at the time, the cost to join is around $2000 per year. This was told to me after an hour long interview. Also, if you're like me, you have a hard time saying no after you have gone through an hour long interview. So I slid across my credit card, all the while having my head tell me to walk away. But I wanted to go out more and hoped to meet someone I'd like to spend more time with and figured that, as they said, most events after the initial cost are free. This isn't exactly true. You can go to an event for free, say mini golf, but you will have to pay to rent clubs. Or, you can go to a games night, but if it's at a restaurant, you probably should order something so you're not the jerk sitting with a water taking up a table. After I spoke to a representative about how I was unhappy, they suggested other events that I could try that would have more people my age (basically hiking or expensive additional costs were my primary options). I went to one, and again, I felt like I would have rather have been there alone. Maybe my extensive solo travel has made it so that I prefer my own company to making small talk... I don't know. The people there are nice enough, and if you're lonely or new to the city, I can see how it would be a great experience, but it wasn't for me. Unfortunately, it was the most expensive life lesson I've learned about going with my gut and not just being pressured into buying something. read more

My experience with Events and Adventures has been phenomenal, I thought the interviewers did an excellent job at letting people know what to expect from the club, but the negative reviews seem to come from expecting something other than what E&A is all about. E&A is mainly about enjoying fun activities and through those activities making new friends. Yes it is a singles club, but beyond what is required to become a member, nothing is done to facilitate matchmaking, they let you know this is not a dating service. There are a bunch of really awesome activities every week, (and the Event Manager Michelle Apples is nothing short of a creative genius when it comes to arranging fun, creative events, she pretty much lives and breathes E&A), during which you have natural conversation with the others you event with, and sometimes there are additional gathers post event to relax and talk all of which allows people to form natural connections with each-other, possibly even romantic ones. As you would expect, this set up appeals most to people who suddenly need to re-establish or supplement their friendship circle due to friends starting families or re-locating for work. The membership fee also tends to appeal only to those who have a decent job. All of this means a lot of the members are in their 30's+ because that's when when people are most likely to find themselves single, with a decent job and in need of a new friendship circle, but there is a good showing of younger people as well, because: well, it's damn fun too. If you are are uncertain I'd say do the month-to-month until you've decided, and I'd highly recommend going on one of the camping trips: I've been on 3 so far and every single one has resulting in amazing stories and new connections. Also the club offers a month-to-month option which I did not pick personally, but is a great choice if you are on the fence about the quality of the events. read more

COMPLETE SCAM! I joined when this club was brand new to Vancouver. They would not let me see a real calendar of events until I joined. But after a high pressure sales pitch with big promises & a hefty fee (which didnt include fees to any events), I found there were hardly any events to attend. I ended up going to one really boring event where their coordinator did nothing to try to encourage conversation. So i requested a refund, which of coarse, was refused. In fact, I was treated so poorly that I never attended another event again. They ought to be ashamed. read more

I love this place. Everywhere I get to experience with the group I shall make a post about. Try Harthouse restaurant, and get out to Rev's for bowling! I am looking forward to a getaway in Whistler along with night tubing on Cypress. Also a great Splatter Paint art workshop! I will keep posting about all my experiences until some light is shed. If something doesn't work for you, don't ruin it for other people. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all (as someone once said) and you can choose to focus on everything that's wrong and your glass will always be half empty. My glass is half full...or TOTALLY full if you consider air filling the other portion! read more

I became a member of E&A a year and a half ago. At the time i signed up i was 24 and just wanted a change of pace. I was told there was TONS of people my age and well that was a flat out lie. The events I went to were full of socially awkward people around my parents age. I tried organizing the with event hosts to find events more catered to my age which again turned out to be a waste of time. Shortly after this I had a disagreement with one of the workers there which she was rather rude about. I then received an email stating my credit card info had changed which i didnt do so I contacted them. Happened to be the same lady, she assured me that there was a mistake on the expiry date and she had fixed it. I asked her what the date of the card was and it was in fact for Aug,2015. A year and a half later I receive another email stating I owe them $930+ dollars because my card kept being declined. But since I havent been active they will waiver the additional charges and only charge me the $930. I of course said no and forwarded the email exchange with the other lady from over a year ago after reviewing that they said they will waiver 50% of the fees. In the meantime I had written a review on facebook about this company to which they told me that unless I take that review down the 50% "discount" will be off the table. She had also informed me that the card they have on file expires in Aug 2014. In conclusion, I will not be accepting the 50% discount in fact I will not be paying any of it as this entire thing is clearly not my fault. I thought they stopped charging me because they cancelled my membership as that was what i had been wanting them to do. I will also be taking this to the news papers as this company is full of liars and scammers and I do not want someone else to have the experience I have had with them. The few events that I did attend the people were very unwelcoming, rude, and caddy. DO NOT JOIN THEM!!!!! read more

I signed up to get more information about this group some time ago. I was prompted to write this review because they randomly started calling me again, as if I had just signed up for more information. I thought I would share my experience when I met them for more information some time ago. They will ask you to come into a meeting so they can meet you and find out more about you. They will tell you it is an important part of the process that lets them attract fun, interesting singles. I'm not sure they use it to screen people out, but it is a very convenient way to help their sales. The person I met with was very friendly, engaging and personable. I was asked to fill out a form that asked a lot of personal information, including financial information, how much I spend on leisure, and what I am looking for in a partner, and (yikes!) what my values are. Then I met with the rep again, who spoke about all the fun activities they have and how it is great not to have to plan anything and have all these great activities you can go to as part of the club. I have to admit that this was very appealing. So was the chat about the people I would meet, and the experiences I would have. But in retrospect,I realized that the direction of the conversation was tailored to my answers on the form. One reoccurring theme was the free events that are included in the membership. Some events will cost more, but you can just go to the free events. I was curious, because price was not mentioned yet. The rep encouraged me to just go to the free events if cost was a concern. At the time the free events were pretty much beach volleyball, and snowshoeing. The cost I was quoted was thousands of dollars for less than 2 years. I liked the idea of having heaps of activities to go to with other singles. but I was not loving the price (or paying in advance). The rep said she would see what she could do and stepped out to call her boss. Apparently there was something special about me (LOL) , because she managed an extra month and a bit of a drop on the price, but only if I signed up on the spot. That was enough for me to decide to just walk away. I don't personally know anyone that has joined this group. I'm sure there are fun activities with fun people in them. The price to play was too much for me, and thats fine. But I was really put off by the sales tactics. I think it is important for people to know what they are walking into if they go to that meeting, and to come prepared as if they were buying a car, or going to a timeshare meeting. read more

I'm not overly impressed......I don't really care about the money, cause if the club was as they promote it, then that would be worth it. Most of the people that belong to this club are older - maybe 45 plus? Before I say this - I am no judge and wont judge anyone.......but there might be a small handful of people I would hang around with, but most people I have met in the club remind me of the people in high school or college that were too nervous/shy/dorky/whatever it is to have a normal, meaningful conversation with you. Frankly, I would have more fun watching paint dry......and I have no problem having a conversation with most people, I just don't care to have one where I am carrying the conversation. I guess as one of my friends said, "So basically you're paying to have new friends?" Basically...yes. Not really for me. read more
Its fine if your don't mind wasting around $130+ a month, this is the lowest price btw, the one that you get to choose if you sign up on day one when you walk into their office for the initial meet up. Be warned, this is a social group that basically makes a monthly schedule where they create events around things that you would normally pay for just by hanging out with normal non group members anyway. The plus side is if you do want to meet singles, this is one way to do it. Personally I would have gone about this a different way had I'd known I'd be paying around $3000 - $4000 for a 3 year contract plus a $30 a month "service charge". There's other cheaper ways to meet singles, just be warned that if you do decide to join, its gonna cost you. read more

If I could give negative stars I would. I have been paying for this service for the past three years but not because I was using it, only because once you sign up you can never leave (and trust me it's a lot less fun than the Hotel California). It didn't matter that the city I moved to didn't have E&A. Didn't matter that I got in a relationship and didn't need a dating service anymore. It didn't matter that my first events were the worst experience of my life (which I had to pay for on top of the fees so what are the fees even paying for). I still had to pay for the whole thing because there is no trial period, once you go to an event you're stuck paying out the ass forever (please read contracts every carefully before you accidentally sell a kidney). My first event was filled with old men (members) getting drunk and trying to pick me up (I was 20). I could have gone to a bar and had that same experience for free. My second and third events were just as bad (and I still had to pay for each event on top of my fees). Once I noticed this pattern I tried to cancel my membership and guess what you can't. Ever. If you're looking to make new friends and go to events you can do it without going broke using so many other services. If you're looking for creepy people to assume you're desperate for it cus you paid to be there and to feel like you're back in the first day of highschool with horribly awkward icebreakers, then this is the group for you. read more

I would never join E and A. My friend and I are single, we were interested in joining. Unfortunately you cannot access the site unless you sign up, so you are pretty much forced to give your information without getting any information in return. I signed up and still nothing about fees, or how the program works except for you can call for more information or someone will be in touch with you. I signed up early December and since then EVERY SINGLE DAY they have called me, which I find is harassment. They leave messages requesting a call back. What I find suspicious is they say they have so many singles that have joined and yet the persistency and frequency of the calls makes me wonder how many members they actually have. To me they seem desperate. Word of advice, do not sign up!!!! They will bug you till the end of eternity. So annoying! read more

I would have given 0 stars if it was possible. Do not join. It's a scam. If the company had any faith in it's service It would have a trial period or at least a cooling off period greater than 3 days. BC consumer law is 10 days. It's via registered may and has to arrive within 3 days and even then it's a 400 interview fee. Why I do not recommend this is it's and think it's a scam is that: Reason 1: Alot of the events you don't need the club for. They aren't exclusive and occur at the same time as the general public. EG Volleyball in a park. Kareoke in a Bar. Salsa in a bar or on a ship. So you pay the same cost as the general public too plus $2000. If they had a trial period, I would have asked for my money back. Again, there isn't a trial period. They are also very shady and don't even tell you the membership costs when you ask them. Reason 2: The person that sold me the membership - Rey is a shark and used confidential information about another member. Being predatory and wanting to selll you a product that is difficult to return. Reason 3: I consider the memberships worthless as it doesn't get you much. I could have done most of the same on my own. They cost upto $5000. Reason 4: That events are cheezy too that aren't in existing establishments. Like Volleyball in a public park or bocci ball. They havent event rented space in a park so in theory they could get kicked out. Also only seniors do bocci ball. They squat space in a park half the time. Another example is back yard bbq's that you pay 30 bucks for where there isn't enough food. Hello I paid 2000 plus 30 extra bucks. I could have had a better time at a fast food joint. I've ran into members outside EA events and the consensus is EA and a lousy rip-off. Feedback about the events isn't anonymous. The way EA operates is very shady. I could have done all these events without joining E&A and paying 2000. Do not join or even walk in the door. I am very saddened at the money I squandered. Don't join. read more

I am finally writing a review of this place after finally getting this organization off my back. If you are rich or have lots of money to a spend ,and need friends then this might be the place for you. Otherwise, be prepared to be taken advantage in the hardest way. I am glad too be out of this in my mind, antisocial group of scammers looking to make you feel small and inadequate. This is during the interview. I went in looking for info, just that. I was greeted with smiles and two interviewers who seemed nice enough. When I mentioned that I would have to think about the cost, that is when the guy said this group is not for you then. We need committed people that aren't cheap. I was taken back, but ignored this thinking the guy was having a bad day. Long story short, I ended up signing up for silver membership. I really wanted to meet neweople as I was struggling with making time for social life outside of work. I went to some events that were poorly organized and met women who were not interested in dating, because apparently this is not a dating service. Fair enough, but I believe a lot people sign in the hopes of meeting not just friends, but also a mate. I left in Feb 2013, because I realized the cost for this experience was just not affordable to me. 100 dollars a month for this? I got an angry bitter call from Seattle , telling me not to cancel. He threatened me with collections. He then began to insult me after I defended myself. Very rude man. Horrible experience. I had to cancel my credit card, and find a lawyer. Now I don't hear from them anymore. Glad to be out.) read more

I moved in Vancouver a couple years ago. In February 2015, I felt so lonely in this city. It's really hard to make friends and meet people in Vancouver when you're by yourself, people don't talk to you. My co-worker told me about E&A, without having any details, she said I should maybe check it out. A couple weeks later, I heard the advertising on the radio and decided to sign up and go have the "interview". At first, I admit, it was frightening, the fact that you have to sign a contract and all, I had the buyers remorse the next day. But decided to still give it a shot. So I went out to a few events and realized that everybody was so friendly and were in the club for the same exact reasons as me. 3 months after, I loved it so much that I wanted to be a part of it, I became a host. If I had to do it again, I would, in a heartbeat! Joining Events and Adventure was the best thing that I could have done in Vancouver. It's been a year now and I have met so many good people that became my friends and have done so many different things and went to many places, who knows what the last year could have been without the Club, but I sure have no regrets. I recommend it to anybody that needs to go out and let Netflix and the couch alone. Maybe you won't find the man/woman of your dream, maybe you will, but I guarantee you that there is wicked members and activities in this Club that are worth every penny you have to pay to be a member. Now let's get out and enjoy! There is Salsa dancing on the calendar tonight!! :) read more

Summary: Heard of E&A and are intrigued? DON'T BOTHER! Unless of course you want to spend $2000-3000 for a membership to a social club that you can't even try out before signing a contract for at least a year! Details: I recently moved to BC and heard about Events & Adventures on the radio, checked them out online, liked the concept and so I signed up for a meeting at the office downtown Vancouver. Before the meeting I had a similar experience as a previous reviewer - I received a voicemail from a really friendly sounding girl, but ended up speaking to a guy who spoke really fast, was abrupt and incredibly unprofessional, but I overlooked it and proceeded to go in for my in-person meeting with E&A. The receptionist was really nice, friendly and talkative so I overlooked the slightly dingy feeling of the offices. She had me complete a form giving my personal information - name, address, DOB, as well as information such as what I'm looking for from E&A. I then sat down with a guy and he asked me more details on who I am (including sighting 3 ID's), where I'm from, and what I'm looking for. It wasn't til we got to talking about what kind of events they have that he vaguely mentioned a membership fee, and how some of the events are free because of the membership fee, and others you have to spend a little more on. That's fair enough, but the vague way that he mentioned it alerted a few warning bells in the back of my mind. After some more conversation I asked him for info on the financial side of things and he pulls out a laminated information page outlining two options - a 3 year membership or a 1 year membership (1 year membership: $2900)... and then he pulls out another page outlining the same options but just a little cheaper because IF YOU SIGN UP & PAY A DEPOSIT TODAY you get a few hundred dollars off (1 year membership: $2100). Wait a second? Sign a contract today? Pay today? Fork out HUNDREDS or THOUSANDS of dollars (they give you a little discount if you can pay it all upfront) without so much as a meet and greet with other members to make sure that they're cool?! Or to make sure that said events and adventures actually happen?! Yeah right. I give E&A the benefit of the doubt, but to me this smells like a total scam. I sure wish that I had read some of these reviews before going in for a meeting, giving them a whole lot of info about me (who knows what they do with it?!) and wasting my time. We're all better off signing up to groups on meetup.com or joining a gym. read more

So I've decided to check out what Advent and Adventure was about after hearing some ads from the radio. Signed up from their website (which had very little information about the business model), got a call, dropped by their office not knowing what it's really about. Got filled with information, sounded good and everything until the membership discussion came in. Price was reasonable, but one thing I really hated was that you had to sign up on the spot. "If you don't sign up today, you don't get the deal and have to have 1 year minimum contract". (They were offering 6 months just for 'today') What the hell? Didn't think it was a gym membership sort. At least for gyms, they will have some kind of price on their website. And you would get an idea of what you're getting into. So I asked to give me 2 days to think about it, I want to review the contract, etc etc. That was a no, and get this right.. they said "People who usually that needs time to think either doesn't have the money to join, or they're just not interested." Lol, wtf? I found that line quite amazing. I'm a professional. I would expect professionals go to these clubs. I would've expected to be treated like one. Not a slam on the face with a price and decide now kind of deal. Although I would've been quite interested in joining, due to this aggressive sales act, it really pushed me away. Have had too many experiences like this, and business' that run this way, are usually bad in the first place. read more

I have been a member with E&A for almost a year and a half and it been great. I've been on events that I probably wouldn't have tried had I not been a member, including white water rafting last June. Every month there are some of the same events but also new and different ones, last month I went to EXIT and tried to escape from the room, shooting at DVC and also went out dancing with the group and next month I am going to a play at Stanley Park and White Water rafting again. It is a great club if you are looking for a way to make new friends, get out of the house and try new things. read more

I am a member of E&A since this summer. I was bored in Abbotsford and was so disappointed by online dating, I decided to give it a try. After hearing the ad on the radio I went on their website and I booked an appointment since you don't have any info on their website. I was annoyed but then Andrew explained that they were private and wanted to screen every potential new member. So I went to their office and spent an hour answering a bunch of question. At the end of the meeting, I was told I was invited to join and that they would show me everything if I wanted to be in. As everyone says, ya, it's not cheap. I pay $110 per month and signed up for 1 year. So far I am having a blast. The crowd goes from 20's (my age) to way older. You have all types of events and I met a lot of new people! Didn't find love yet, but I made a lot of new friends and did a lot of things that I wouldn't have done without them. I personally recommend E&A to anyone that is bored, lacking social relationships or wants to date differently. I'll update my review if my experience change, so far after 6 months I am still happy. read more

Unfortunately, I fell victim to the high pressure sales tactics that prey on people actually putting in the effort to establishing a strong social life. I have just cancelled my membership after 2 months - have lost money but luckily not as much as it could have been. They market themselves as exclusive but the reality is poor quality events. The events would be OK but the general membership is older than expected and certainly not as dynamic as the organization portrays. Events are often in Surrey or out of downtown, there are a lot of hidden costs to events and the discounts they claim to obtain on the clubs behalf are negligible. The sales process is very slick, be warned. The only way you can get further information on the website is to provide a phone number and they will call. You get invited to meet with a team member so that they can vet you. This meeting is well done - they can really position themselves as being able to get the social life you want. The price is positioned as a "here and now" offer and if you go away and think about it then the regular rate is much higher. Whatever you do, do not sign on the day!! If you are seeking to grow your social life join meet up or put your money in to sports clubs. Avoid E&A, it's not worth your time or effort. read more

I have been apart of E&A since September 2015. I have loved all the events I have been to and haven't had a bad experience yet. The hosts are extremely outgoing and keen to help you enjoy your time and get the most for your money. As some of the other reviews state, yes it is a bit if a step cost but they do everything for you all u have to us to sign up and attend. For an introvert like myself it is hard to go out and meet people at times but since i have been with E&A I have gotten more comfortable with approaching strangers and getting to know them as well as them me. Don't let the cost stand In your way of meeting some of the most interesting people I know who are all in the same boat as you. I love E&A and you will to. read more

Honestly even one star is too much. First off, any place that asks you to pay 2000 a year for membership upfront is fishy. Two, they sell you one thing and then in reality it's another. I cannot believe people don't feel bad about this. I was told there's plenty of singles my age and then I was also told this wasn't a dating group. The group age is more 35+. I feel like the money you pay on top of the subscription for 2000 is not really worth it. I suggest if you want bona fide connections you can go elsewhere for a fraction of the price. Sad that it's come to this sometimes. I don't feel everything is particularly thought out well and some of the events you go to feeling like everything was thrown together at the last minute. I do not recommend this group. read more

Some people may expect too much out of this club and are not satisfied with anything no matter how good it is. The problem with E&A is not the events they offer but the trick they play with their initiation fee. While many other clubs have initiation fee, it is less than 1K$ and after initial payment, you continue paying membership of less than 100$. E&A has no membership, just initiation fee that is over 1K$ (up to 5K$). If you don't like the club for whatever reason, you cannot get your money back. Cancelling membership (mentioned in contract) will not help you as you are obliged to pay the initiation fee no matter. The money-back is 24hours what is outrageous. This is why E&A is scam!!! Not because what they offer but because there is no way out for the people that don't like them. Once you put your signature on their contract, you have 24 hours (and no option to attend any event) to change your mind. read more

At 11:42am on sept 9th I called their 1800 number. I was making an inquiry regarding the types of activities included in a membership in Vancouver. The guy on the other line was not friendly and said "activities around central Vancouver", which did not answer my question. Then he asked if I could afford the $3k fee, which I said was not a problem. I requested multiple times for a general idea of the types of activities or an opportunity to speak with someone in Vancouver who could help me out, but this is apparently not possible due to their "procedures". I'm a professional and a serious potential buyer with experience in customer service...this guy was a zero and I imagine the negative reviews here are accurate and the positives are fake. read more

I just want to say that it saddens me that such negative things have been posted here about this club. Had I checked this site before joining last year, I might not have even gone to meet them. Luckily, I did and I MET NOT ONLY MY BEST FRIEND BUT MY JACOB! :))) Go ahead and believe whatever you want, but if you are open to meeting some REAL people, do yourself a favour and just do it. It took me a year to find my man but at least I got to do some things I never dreamed of doing before! One thing for sure...it's better than emailing back and forth on Eharmony! I tried it all, and I'm not too proud to say...nothing else worked like E&A. Everyone's experience in the club is different, but I just want the good people who are considering joining to listen to their heart...you don't have to be alone...this place is OK read more

SCAM! Do your research into companies before signing up. $100-$150/month membership based on a MINIMUM 6 month contract. There is no shorter term contract and no trial period. When I asked about the deadline for canceling a subscription they replied that there were no cancellations. This simply is false information as the BC consumer protection act states that consumers have up to 10 days to cancel for any reason. My decision to join this club was the worst decision ever. It's not what they sell it to be and once you sign up you can't cancel - unless you do it within 3 days of signing up but when I signed up I was told that I could cancel at any point with a 30 day notice...and they force you to sign up for a year minimum. They charged me twice one month and claimed it was by mistake. And they claim it's for unmarried people but there is a bunch of people in there who are not legally divorced yet which means they are still technically married! Oh and I got drugged at the first away trip I went on so all in all a really dodgy club. STAY AWAY!!! read more

i checked this place out. unfortunately im sure people in the lower mainland tried it and lost a lot of money . I got out early so Iost some money. but like the previous poster EL said it is quite correct. I believe " Misrepresentation" is the correct legal term term. They market themslves as exclusive and they screen for quaility people - the sales rep keeps mentioning that how he met his wife who is aso a member and pushes for a longterm commitment yet then promote it online as not a dating site however in their own contract . in a small subsection, hard to find. it states'/ paraphrasing E and A is not responsible or verifies for any claims it members make on their professional or social status. in other words, they can be married, crmininals, sexual deviants, financially strained and E and A does not check at al. word to the wise it does take about $2000 to join for a year where they a litte more than a party planner. i could do that right now for planning basic dinner party with a "send all " email. they do not tell you prices on the phone or cleary posted in their office, just a card from the sales rep. he is also a realtor by the way . getting out of the contract is extremely complicated and you have to be fast and not attend any events i do regret losing some money...i could have used it for a few monthes of gym membership at a community centre. i grew up in Vancouver and am disppointed in how this business can exist in the trustful city I once knew im a ittle adventuresome/ trustful soul ...maybe that makes me a easier target but my outook has changed from this experience. please tell ur friends. if they are the shy type E and A will have them for lunch and wont even spit out the bones. Get them to try meet up groups, take some fun classes at a communty centre or university. please take care people :) read more

This place doesn't even deserve one star. They have a high pressure sales system because they need you! They negotiate until they find your bottom line and charge a ridiculous price for going out. Their events are so lackluster (go to a bar, go out for tacos, go bowling) and the times do not cater to people who work shift work. I went to one event and after one you cannot get your money back. They have multiple fake ratings on different sites, it's pathetic. Stay far far away!!!!! read more

At first I really liked this club. I met lots of people from the club, including a new boyfriend, and was very happy. But I soon found I couldn't afford the monthly fees on my 3 year contract anymore so I called the head office to tell them the situation. They offered to cut my contract down to 1 year - since it'd been about a year since I had joined - but for 6 months I hadn't been able to make my monthly fees, and it was a grand total of $1750. I organized a payment plan with the Vancouver office of 65/month and had a written contract. I offered them my debit/Visa card number. The Seattle office called me a month or so later because the card was declined due to the fact that they had one number wrong. When I corrected it a collection agency began to hound me and of course wanted me to pay in full. So I offered a new credit card to E&A and they told me I had to do it through the collection agency, because it was the law now. I was playing constant phone tag with E&A and the collection agency coz neither of them were clear. People work at collection agencies are HORRIBLE people, and use tactics to scare you. I told them firmly they were gonna get 65/month or nothing, and she lost it because she didn't wanna have to call back every month to collect my number. I should've collected all the info I could from the email she sent - both my mom and I read it over several times but we could not decipher the message in there because it was so grammatically incorrect, like it had been put through a translator. I told her it wasn't my intention to make her call once a month, I'd wire transfer the company the money, but she wouldn't have it, and insisted it had to be in full or nothing. I told her then it was gonna be nothing, and she said "okay well I'll tell the E&A head office, this'll go on your credit history, and they can proceed to sue however they see fit." I told that was fine and she hung up on me. She had once told me she had called the Vancouver office several times, but they told me they never got a phone call from them. But yet they're taking the side of the collection agency. So I told them that this all started because of your error from the get go so you're not getting any of my money. I know it'd cost them more money to sue me than the amount I owe them, and they have yet to bother me since. I DO NOT recommend this place by any means. read more

DON'T do it! They don't tell you the sign up fee because it is a rip off! And they don't tell you until they get you into their offices where they can bully you into a membership. When they get you into the office all they are are sleazy sales people. They don't care about making connections with people. Also, on top of this "membership" fee you have to pay for all the events! Save your money and join free online services like meet up instead! read more

If you're new to the city, this is a great way to meet new people and make friends. They do a lot of good events around the tri-city area (1 everyday) like salsa dancing, rock climbing, volleyball, dine outs, bars/clubs, etc. I've been a member for 3 months now and I've had a great time so far. I'd say the average age of members is in the 30s. Like others have said, it is a bit pricey so there's not as many young adults and they do screen people beforehand in interviews. But I like that not anybody can join, it filters out the creeps and people looking just to play games. Ultimately, E&A isn't for everyone, but if you're looking for better relationships, it absolutely beats trying to pick someone up at a bar or club. read more

Do not like the cancellation policy. Don't sign up for it, don't sign the contract. They should really have a trial period. My work schedule changed and I cannot even get out of the contract. They don't even ask for proof like a gym would when you want to cancel the contract with them. Go sign up for some classes or something else. Like what others have said, run far far away. read more

Worst company I have ever dealt with!!! I was living in the lower mainland months ago, and became interested after hearing one of their countless ads on the radio. I contacted them, and setup a interview to see if being a member was something I might be interested in. I told them in advance that I would not be joining, and that the first meeting was just to see the program, get the fixed costs, and get a sense for who the company was. I went in for an "interview" which was a hard sell, and very little actual info provided by the salesman I met. I explained that I just wanted the info to decide at a later date. He told me that I was "wasting his f*cking time if I didn't sign up right then and there." That he "didn't do second meetings." He also showed me pictures of attractive female members and said "dude, you are going to get so much p*ssy, you won't know what to do with it all." and to "keep a rubber on it" so I didn't get anyone pregnant or catch any STDs. I said I was not into that, and just looking to meet people, since I was new to the area. He also told me that I could quit if it didn't work out for me. I figured I'd try for a few months and go from there. I left a $100 deposit for my membership, since I didn't get a trusting feeling from him, and didn't want them to have my credit card number. So I reluctantly and under alot of pressure, and left the office without any contract, paperwork, receipt, nothing but a calendar, and his business card. I looked at the calendar after I left, and thought I would see once they had the next months schedule to decide if I wanted to stay a member or not. After seeing the schedule, and my work schedule shifting to evening, I contacted Events and Adventures to cancel my membership. After several emails back and forth, they told me I could not quit, and I was 'on the hook' for 18 months. I explained that wasn't what I was told, but they kept sending me bills. After giving up trying to explain it to them, they hired a collection agency to collect from me. DO NOT JOIN!!! read more

Overall, the club is pretty good when you're too lazy to actually put in the effort to make plans with your friends. Yes, there is a membership fee, and yes, you might not get along with everyone...but, you will meet some pretty cool and adventurous people. You're essentially paying to have the manager organize a full month of outings and guaranteeing there will be at least 5 people there. Don't look at it as a sad way of meeting people, people that are willing to pay a membership are people that have their life together and want to meet people in the same situation. Give it a try with a one year membership. I'm sure you've splurged on less useful things...am I right? ;) read more

The club has helped change my life, instead of sitting on a couch or in front of a computer every night I am going out and enjoying life, I have meet a lot of great people. My married friends are always asking me what new fun stuff I did with the club lately, as they live vicariously through me. History
Established in 1987.
People join Events & Adventures for many reasons, but the most common are: They are looking to get out of the house and have more fun. They are looking to make new friends. They are hoping to find someone special to spend their life with. Which is it for you? When I started the club over 30 years ago, the answer was "numbers one and two. Once I had those I suddenly found three. I met my wonderful wife in the club, but along the way I went skydiving for the first time. I climbed to the top of Mount St. Helens and shared a frosty beverage with a group of members as we threw rocks off of the rim of the crater. I've frozen my butt off white water rafting the Chilliwack river in British Columbia (emphasis on "Chilli"). A 20 person hot tub never felt so good. But most of all I met hundreds of amazing and wonderful people, many of whom became close personal friends. Finally, I met the most wonderful woman in the world. Not bad for an "activities club". ~ Mark Owen, Founder

I was suddenly single and looking for a club where I could have fun with other singles and not get in a serious relationship right away, at the time there was nothing like Events and Adventures so I started one! It was only later that we noticed a lot of people were getting married. I realized that when you relax and have fun that is when you are the most attractive to other people. We now run over 400 events every month in Canada and the US

The camping trip to Barefoot Beach Resort in Penticton was an unforgettable experience and I am so glad I participated. Firstly I would like to give a big thank you the host, and our Event Manager in Vancouver, Michelle Apples. I'm not sure how she came across this little piece of paradise but she selected just the right location and then proceeded to put her heart and soul into making the weekend as memorable as it could be for everyone. She is a great leader, puts in a ton of effort, and always presents herself in a kind and charismatic fashion. She is truly a beautiful person inside and out! Thank you also to all the other hosts within the Vancouver club that came out camping for the weekend. They are a great support cast, and they followed through with more of the same this weekend. They can be approached at anytime to answer any questions you may have and helped out a lot making all the events and activities within the weekend go as smoothly as they possibly could, and believe me there was lots to do! And to all the members of E&A and their guests that made it out camping thank you to you as well. This club has such a large number of unbelievable people all willing to help each other out, which in turn makes everything that much more enjoyable. I was unfortunately one of the late arrivals to the campsite, and it was the early stages of twilight at this point, but within seconds I was directed right to the tenting area by a fellow member and again within seconds of unpacking my tent I was greeted by fellow members willing to shine flashlights and even assist me with their tent building expertise. I'm glad I was able to spend time with the great majority of them and pleased to say that I enjoyed every moment. There were endless possibilities of things to do, but one that really stood out for me was the wine tour in the Naramata region. As with all the E&A events this one was extremely well organized, and provided to us were two buses with very professional drivers. We were all quite well presented, especially the numerous ladies that decided to wear dresses. Who knew so many campers would bring along dresses. But yet another example of how an ordinary wine tour can become an extraordinary experience just with some planning and a great group of people, courtesy of E&A! All five winery destinations provided an excellent wine tasting experience, one even came with cheese, crackers, fruit, sliced meats, pickles, and chocolate. Our second winery provided us with an exquisite lunch on an outdoor patio with remarkable views. Actually all the wineries came with remarkable views and great photo opportunities. The event was a great excursion and thank you to everyone that made it possible. Another fond memory that stood out for me was the lazy float event down the channel of water that connects the Sushwap Lake to the Okanagan Lake. Just a few minutes walk from our resort was the end of the channel and also the location to catch a bus up to the start of the channel. With a $5 bus ride and a $2 inflation fee for all tubes, it was an extremely cheap way to spend an afternoon basking in the sun as you relaxed down a calm peaceful channel that acts like a slow moving river, consistently spanning 25 to 30 feet in width. It was a great turnout, my guess would be 50 riders. We had an eclectic yet incredible selection of floaties, all mingling about with an eclectic yet absolutely incredible group of people! The float lasted just under 2 hours, but can last anywhere from 3 to 4 hours depending on the speed of the currents that day. Some people were so into it they decided to go again. But I along with others opted for sunning on the beach nearby instead, which led to drinks and early supper snacks at a Mexican restaurant located right on the resort as well! To quote a fellow member, 'these are the greatest group of peeps.' And it is so true, it's like you are the extended family I never had. And the good kind too, the ones you wish you could get together with on every special occassion. Well this Penticton trip was very special to me, and I hope it's a start of a new tradition. I would personally invite back every single one of you that took part in this excellent adventure. Thank you to all that made it possible!!! :D read more

Left the club. Found it overpriced. They need to be upfront with what they really do. They say they aren't a dating service but when you sign-up, they will use the fact that you are single and that this is a place to meet quality singles to pursue a relationship. It's high pressure sales to a point where you really think they are there to help you find "the one" when it's just really a business. They need people to sustain their business and they will do anything and everything to get you in. I joined because I thought it would be fun and interesting but I quickly got bored. They were some nice people but after awhile, I just wasn't into the club and regret joining because I could have just done things on my own instead of getting stuck paying $75 bucks a month and still had to pay for going to play volleyball and other sports. What's the monthly fee for when I have to pay additional fees for the events. The monthly fee should cover that but I found that I was spending more and more for what? I didn't even meet my special someone there. They still encourage you to go even if you have a boyfriend because they don't consider that being engaged or married. Well, why would I jeopardize my relationship for a club? I'm also living in a another province now and they still expect me to pay their fees. Forget it. I would advise not to join this club because they are just after your money. I'm sure you will meet some nice people. It's not the people but the policies they have in place. They also exaggerate that they have weddings every month from people meeting at the club. Right. Whatever. It's a business and they are only after staying in business and hooking in members. It's an overpriced club that is there to give you the illusion that you are saving money for events when you still have to pay a hefty down payment and monthly fees for some memberships or they give you the so called lifetime membership which cost close to $5,000 and you pay $75 a month and they won't let you off even if you move to another province or country. That's just plain wrong. Why should I continue paying for a service I'm not satisfied with and can't even use anymore. They are out there with their radio ads too so--BUYER BEWARE. You only have three days to cancel but they won't tell you that. They don't disclose a lot of things. They will give you the play-up and it sounds great in the beginning but...that's it. It's an overpriced club. Better to do it on your own if you wanna have fun. You can do the same things without having to join an expensive social club. They ask too many personal information that isn't really necessary to be in a club. Again...it's not the members that made me leave this club...it's their inflexible policies and the fact that I don't even live in BC anymore and they are still after my money. Finally, they pretend not to be a dating service when in fact they are. Why can't they just be upfront about it? They also have many bad reviews about their other clubs in the US. They have been reported in www.ripoffreport.com and the Better Business Bureau in various states in the US. STAY AWAY FROM EVENTS AND ADVENTURES BECAUSE THEY WILL MILK YOU FOR EVERY PENNY YOU GOT!!! read more

My best new years yet. So I have only been a member of this club for approximately two weeks. I attended one event before this and have to admit I was a little out of my comfort zone, however it got me out of the house and everyone was friendly so I thought what the heck. Let's give New Years Eve a shot. I had nothing better to do. The event was at the Fairmont downtown Vancouver and since I was going with a group. The hotel gave me an awesome rate of $109. Pretty good since I checked out rates on a regular weekday was $300. I figured it was a bargain. Checking in was a little difficult since I drive a big truck and it wouldn't fit in the parkade. However the valet found me a spot after some troubleshooting and it was all good. Once in my room I was able to unpack unwind and get ready for a night of fun. Cleaned up, dressed up and smelling good I made my way to the top floor and checked in. It was fun right from the start. A stunning blonde gave me beads and I gave her my best runway walk. She was fun. I walked in and the place was decked out. Balloons, streamers, party hats. It was looking good. I ordered a drink and started to mingle. The view over looking the city was amazing and there were people from all walks of life. Definatly interesting. After about an hour everybody sat down for dinner. No shortage of food was present. Probably enough to feed a small city. I packed down two plates full of what was mostly roast beef. The best roast beef to have ever tantalized my senses for sure. Afterwards I chatted with this cute brunette about the club. She seemed to be having fun. The club handed out prizes after dinner and they were actually pretty decent. Canucks tickets were one prize that I remember. However I had a few drinks by then. So don't hold it against me. The music started playing and everybody started to party. The rest of the night was kind of a blur. I remember dancing my ass off. Making out with a couple girls. Howling at the moon while cruising in a bicycle taxi on the way to get red bull around 3 AM. Spilling stuff all over my hotel room. A visit from security around 4:30AM defiantly approximate. A wicked massage from two girls at once and some other stuff I can't tell you about. All in all. I have to say it was the most fun on New Years Eve I have had. I was sore for two days after, but I got to say it was worth it. read more

SO FAR SO GOOD!!!!!! I joined up in September, it was just time to make a change. It had been a tough year starting with a major breakup of a 7 year relationship and then losing a very close friend. I was looking to try new things and find some people to try them with. My first event was an icebreaker the club puts on for new members. Im a shy person but it was a great way to get me out of my comfort zone..I met 2 girls my age with simular situations ( single and most friends coupled up, married, and or with kids). We ended up doing a bunch of events together, great girls great friends!!!! Ive definitlley met some guys and it awesome to know they were screened before I met them, Ive been on a few dates and no pressure at all . Alot of the guys in club have also become great friends. Newyears was a blast, down at the Fairmont Vancouver top floor, very chic.... amzing 5star buffet..dancing off the calories all night!!! My best Newyears Eve in years. Next day I did something I thought I would never do and jumped into the ocean for the annual PolarBear swim. had I not met the friends I met in the club and have them practically force me to do it with them, I would have never done it....And im so glad I did ...it was awful and amazing at the same time. ..and now I can check it off my list and look forward to my next jump (possibly skydiving, which the club does in the summer) 2011 is my year to do the things Ive always wanted to do and E&A is helping me do them and in great company. Thankyou E&A for changing my life :))))) read more

For a single gal like me, Vancouver isn't the best place to meet other single people. To make matters worse, most of my friends are married with kids which can make you feel even lonelier. I heard about Events and Adventures from a friend who joined 2 years ago. It was also where she had met her husband. I was skeptical at first. The interview took over an hour and I almost got up midway to leave. However, the interviewer made me realize that I had to make a change if I was going to expect one in my life. Vancouver is a great city but it's hardly the most exciting. I realized that instead of feeling bad for myself, the best thing I could do was to put myself out there. It is an investment but I realized I was investing in myself. After attending several events and being surrounded by other single people, I was already comforted by the fact that this city does have a lot of single people like me and it was great to be in an environment with people with the same lifestyle and priorities as myself. I attend events weekly now and I look forward to the gatherings since a lot of the events are activities I didn't even realize existed in Vancouver. It's certainly not for everyone but it has done wonders for my social life and I can honestly say that I am happy now. If you are feeling lonely or bored and just want some wholesome excitement in your life I suggest you give it a try. If you're on the fence, take it from me, you won't regret it :) Life is too short to be lonely! read more

Great experience. I am someone who always gets in my own way and I have been miserable for several years because I did not realize I've been making the same mistakes and not investing in myself. The process at first was a little sketchy to me as the initial phone call and apt. set up was done with not much information given to me just lots asked about myself...but upon arrival and the start of the "2 way interview" as they called it, the staff at Events and Adventures helped me look in the mirror and get out of my way. They comforted my nerves, I signed up that day and was greeted at my first event by my interviewer. It took me a few events to get out of my shell but Events and Adventures has turned out to be what I hoped for after the interview...and more. Thank you for changing my life...and to those skeptics out there...get out of your own way. If you're searching for a healthier way to mingle and meet other's like yourself... I urge you to take the step like I did and give yourself the chance. I never looked up reviews before going in, I didn't research the company like I guess many people do but when I came to share my experience to hopefully help someone else make a difference in their life and saw the negative slander, I just felt like I had to shed the light from the other side. Hope this helps! read more

I've been a member of E&A for almost 7 years, and I can honestly say that joining is one of the best decisions I've ever made. Yes, it's a lot of money, but for me it's definitely been worth it. Since I joined, I've done things I never thought I'd try, like paragliding. Also, although I've always lived in the Lower Mainland, I've discovered places and activities that I never even knew existed, like Wildplay treetop trekking (basically an obstacle course in the trees). Although some events are repeated, I'm still finding new experiences on the calendars, like tonight's event: BBQ boats in False Creek! Most importantly, I've met a lot of great people who I never would have met otherwise. Even the less exciting events (like dinners/minglers) are a lot of fun because of the people who attend. I've made great friends with similar interests so now, besides going to events, I can do activities I enjoy with the friends I've made from the group. For example, I have a group of friends who like music bingo (which none of us had heard of before it appeared on the E&A calendar a few years ago), so now we go to a pub and play twice a month. Overall, I'd recommend E&A for anyone looking to try new things and make new friends. All the planning's done for you, so all you have to do is sign up and show up! read more

I joined events and adventures as a way to meet new people. A lot of my friends are at the stage in their lives where they have settled down and have kids. So it's really hard to get out and do things and this club has been a great way to do that. Events and Adventures was recommended to me by a friend who had been to a few events a few years ago. She said the group is a blast and that they are a lot of fun..and she was right! I have only been in the club for a few months but I have had the best time. The events vary every month. I don't think I have been to an event that I did not like. The hosts are fantastic and ensure that new members feel welcome and part of the group. Yes the fees are on the high end but you have to remember that someone is planning a social calendar for you for an entire month. The friends that I have told about this club think the fees are too high but I tell them it is well worth the money. If you want to get out and meet some really great people then I would highly recommend this club. Whether or not you meet someone, I guarantee that you will have a great time. Just be open minded and outgoing. That's what the group is all about. read more

To those that are curious about this club .... Events and Adventures is an activities club geared for single people. Most importantly, you meet really nice people - do a lot of things that you would likely not do on your own - find a lot of laughter. I have made a lot of new friends within E&A. This club is not set up a dating club, but it can happen. (I have been invited to several weddings). You have the chance to see each other for who really really out without the pretense. I have been with the club since shortly after it began in Vancouver. Yes, it is an expensive club - and yes, worth every bit I put into it. My next event - NYE overnight on the island with almost 70 other people. NYE was so much fun last year, we're doing it again this year! Please don't leave a negative review, if you've never even given E&A a chance. Coming out once or twice, but not engaging yourself with others, is not a fair assessment, nor reading negative reviews on the first pages @ the front to gauge your opinion .... try looking at the last pages .... YELP hides all of the positive reviews at the very back. You really need to be a part of us, to know how we move .... read more

Be aware that Events & Adventures is a scam! They use high-pressure sales tactics to push you into signing up for their service. During a video call, they misrepresent what they offer and gather all your personal data and information. Before you realize what's happening, you are on the hook for over $2000. The experience begins with a sales pitch that makes the service sound appealing and exclusive. However, the reality is far different from what is promised. Once they have your information, they quickly lock you into a costly contract. Many customers have reported feeling misled and trapped by the aggressive sales approach and the deceptive practices used by Events & Adventures. Not only do they fail to deliver on their promises, but they also make it difficult to cancel or get a refund. The company's lack of transparency and dishonest methods have left many feeling frustrated and scammed. If you come across Events & Adventures, proceed with extreme caution or, better yet, avoid them altogether. Save yourself the time, money, and stress of dealing with a company that prioritizes profit over customer satisfaction. read more

Awesome social group to join if you are interested in travel, adventures, cultural activities, international restaurants etc I have joined so I can have the opportunity to participate to all of the above. I generally have an extremely busy schedule personally and have friends I do lots of activities with outside of EnA but for me, I like the fact that whenever I am available, I can look up the monthly calendar and sign up to go to the theatre, restaurant, bowling, escape rooms, snorkeling with seals, comedy nights, Cirque du Soleil, dance nights, hikes so on and so forth. I have already travelled all over the world, BEFORE JOINGING EnA. I flew planes and gliders, I worked on a tallship, I scuba dove amongst hammerheads and tiger sharks, swam with wild dolphins many places around the globe and the list goes on. Regardless, when I am over on the lower mainland for "business"/work. Its super convenient to know I can hook up with a group of single people that have my sense of adventure and curiosity and just hang out and do stuff in the spur of the moment, leaving the organising to others ...no strings attached read more

You've heard it on the radio; "Get out, have fun, meet a group of interesting, dynamic singles". Well, the commercials simply do not do this club justice. You see, it's not a club so much as a true family experience. There's something on the calendar for almost every day and it's with the closest, most supportive group of genuine human beings I have ever met. Give it a shot, you might learn something about yourself. Maybe you'll discover that you love watching magnificent light shows while sitting in a kayak; maybe you'll learn that you simply can't miss a chance to go salsa dancing; perhaps you'll find that magical feeling simply wandering around a Christmas light decorated bridge. A weekend touring Okanagan vineyards and partying by the lake is a more than ideal way to unwind after a long, hot summer. Then again, maybe you'll get that indescribable feeling of just sitting at a table for a meal with a few people you truly feel are worthy to make that small circle we call family. Give E&A Vancouver a call, go in for an interview. There's nothing to lose in that, and everything to cultivate. read more

I did the meeting and answered all the questions. They are indeed serious about who they let in and that didn't annoy me at all, I was actually pretty happy - as a woman- to know there was a selection. I then came back home and saw the reviews. The price is definitely not cheap, that's no secret, but now that I ve been to events I can say it is absolutely worth it. I have been a member since october and I'm having a great time. I have been to a bunch of events and the crowd is very easy to get along with. I m having a lot of fun, Dinners, Halloween party, rockclimbing , dancing, karting, all I wanted. I met a lot of people and I'm happy to say I made a few good friends. Anyway I thought that would be helpful to have the review of an actual member. update : NYE party was absolutely awesome!! We had a three course dinner at the Pinnacle Hotel, champagne! A lot of fun, thanks m-traxx for the djing. I'll remember that great time and the fabulous goat cheese. Looking forward Valentine's day. read more

I've been a member for a few years now. When I first joined, I wasn't sure that I had made the right decision, as it is quite expensive, but I had tried meetups and sports leagues and wasn't really meeting people that I could form lasting friendships with. E&A has been a wonderful experience, but it is definitely about your attitude too. If you want to have fun and meet new friends, then attend events with an open mind and be open to speaking with everyone. I have noticed that the unhappiest members are the ones who expect to find a date or expect the event to make them happy. This is a club for single people to do activities together; it's not a dating site. There are so many activities and opportunities to do the things you love with people who share your interest, or to try new things. I have no regrets about joining and I can happily say that I've met a ton of amazing people, some of whom have become my closest friends. read more

Signed up September 2017 to try and get myself out the house and do more stuff. First event I went to was the 30th anniversary boat party for the club. Signing up was the best thing I could have done. Everyone in the club are great people and fun to be around thanks to the screening process they do before they let you join. It is so much fun. As long as you are not married you are able to join. I have met my girlfriend through the club. The hosts are incredible putting up so many fun events. And I still have no idea how they put up with some us. Every event usually ends with a bite to eat and a drink. We have stuff everyday of the month, except for the odd day. And enough with the negative reviews. It just means you have never actually tried to be part of the club. Don't leave a negative review if you don't try. You will never regret joining up for the club it WILL be one of the best things you will do. read more

I moved to Vancouver just over a year ago and when I heard the ad for Events and Adventures on the radio I immediately contacted them and had an appointment arranged to meet with them. I understand where the other reviewers may be coming from, it is certainly not cheap and the appointment turned out to be a thorough screening process. However, having passed the screening process and being invited to join the club, it was definitely worth the money for me and anyone else who's life is consumed by their job with little time for a social life. Events and Adventures provided a platform for me to explore Vancouver and to make new friends immediately in my new home. It is the sense of community and like minded individuals that I truly appreciate from this club and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking to have a good time with good individuals, especially if you are new to the city. read more

When I first joined the club and went to a couple events, I thought "what have I gotten myself into?!" I'm a shy person and I admit the first few events were awkward for me. The other members were friendly enough but it was definitely outside of my comfort zone. After a few events I started to recognize people and get to know them better. I have met some great people that I spend time with in and outside of the club. I have done things I never would have done on my own like circus school and facing my fear of heights on a treetop obstacle course! The other members talked me through that one, big time!! As others stated, the club is pricey but there are options to pay monthly that makes it more affordable for some. It is a business after all and they do need to make money to continue operating. For me, it was a worthwhile investment. It will be whatever you choose to make it. read more

Been a member of E&A for about 6 weeks now. I moved from Ireland 7 months ago and was finding it difficult to meet new people. E&A gave me the opportunity to meet new people and create a new friend circle with the possibility of meeting some one to date and all while doing fun activities and trips away. There is a large selection of activities to sign up till, from evening dinner meet ups to weekends away. Each activity usually attracts a different group of people as everyone's availability varies which is good. Some events are even shared between clubs (e.g. Vancouver & Seattle). The event organizers are extremely friendly and inviting which allows for a great atmosphere. They also are willing to listen to the members on how to improve events and suggest new things to try. Definitely recommended for anyone new to the city and looking to meet new people while having fun! read more

I love this club! I've tried and experienced so many things I never thought I'd try in a million years! We're talking about Bucket List stuff, people! Some of my favorite events were on, in, or around water! Scuba class! Kayaking in Deer Lake Park and then in Deep Cove! Snorkeling with seals! Bowen Island Dinner & Boat Tour! I'm not a particularly outgoing person but when you're doing something interesting you forget to be self conscious! Michelle Apples is a dynamo! Many members say she's The Best Event Coordinator Vancouver has ever had! She always makes me feel welcome, and has helped me when I'm out of my comfort zone by being encouraging and fun to be around. I joined E&A when I decided that I wasn't just bored with my life, I was boring! Well, I'm Not Boring Any More! read more
