Katherine was our wedding planner. We are absolutely thrilled with how our special day turned out, and how smoothly everything went thanks to Katherine. We got married in Casa Romantica in San Clemente. However, we were living far away in San Jose in the year building up to the wedding. We also had a baby and were enduring the covid pandemic throughout the wedding planning year. Despite all this, Katherine made everything a breeze. Most of the "work" we had to do was make multiple-choice type decisions where she presented us with options (like: picking dj, food, flowers, decor, cake, etc). For fuzzier things like vows and ceremony script, she gave us lots of advice and guidance. Since we were remote, we could only afford a couple trips to arrange wedding details in person. Katherine greatly accommodated our special situation: for a couple weekend visits, she packed our schedule to be super productive and get most in-person things done at once. On the techie side, she is extremely organized with spreadsheets for timelines, guest management, budgets, etc. She was very responsive and focused in email threads. She also easily handled any task involving invites online, wedding websites, registry etc. As I work in the tech industry, I feel like Katherine is like the kind of product manager you dream of working with. On the personal side, Katherine is very low-key, never exerted her influence or opinion, and always had a cheerful attitude. She would mostly listen to us try to reason decisions out, and offer any insights or details we might not have thought of. We really felt like we owned the decision-making process and made the wedding to our own taste. We, with our families, are now scrolling through wedding photos with joy. Initially we didn't believe we needed a wedding coordinator to have a successful wedding; however, the venue we chose for our big day required one. We were provided a list of several wedding coordinators by the venue to choose from, but decided to meet a couple of others we found on our own. We came across "Events by Katherine," after seeing some photos of a wedding she had done at our venue. From our first meeting we knew that they were the right fit for us and decided to hire them immediately. We had multiple meetings over a period of 6 months and during this time Katherine was very flexible and accommodating with our schedules as we were commuting over 90 minutes away for our meetings. Throughout that time, Katherine made sure that we reached our milestones, and if we fell behind, she quickly provided us with suggestions (e.g. selecting vendors) to get us back on track. On the day of our wedding rehearsal, Katherine took control and managed the entire wedding party providing detailed instructions to everyone and what to expect. Our wedding party and family all noted on how organized and easy the rehearsal was thanks to Katherine's direction. On the wedding day, Katherine arrived an hour earlier than planned to help set-up 1,000 paper cranes we wanted to be displayed and to be hung on an arch at the venue - she didn't have to do that, but Katherine and her assistant did. The wedding went according to the timeline we worked on together, and all the details from assisting family with specials needs to managing the various vendors couldn't have gone any better. Katherine and her team are amazing. My husband and I both feel that our day was perfect and a large reason for that is because of Katherine. She was our day-of coordinator, about a month before our wedding she met with us to start taking over communications with vendors and help us put together a timeline for the event. After our first meeting, my stress level definitely decreased. She and her assistant met with us for about 2 hours and asked us about 150 questions. She asked about details I had not even considered and she had suggestions, options, advice, ideas for all of it! I knew whatever I didn't know or plan for she would have it covered. Let me put it this way: Katherine is the greatest event coordinator on the face of this planet. Katherine is a legend. Lesser coordinators tremble when the name Events By Katherine is uttered. If I were to be elected President, I would want Katherine to oversee the hosting of visiting foreign dignitaries. I would trust Katherine to host the Pope. If weddings were an Olympic sport, it would replace synchronized swimming, and everyone would be mad because Katherine would win literally all of the gold medals. After going through my venue's entire list of suggested coordinators, Katherine was the ONE person that I think I could spend the entire day with. I just went with the day of coordinating, which brought her on board a few months before the wedding. After months and months of Pinterest / Etsy / David Tutera watching, she was able to bring our crazy ideas together. PRIOR TO WEDDING: Katherine was super organized. Even in areas we had been slacking ... like the dessert vendor, she kept us in check and reminded us to take care of things. The timeline she planned was so detailed, i felt like we were in good hands. She coordinated all of the vendors that I really didn't have to talk to them that much. She also came to the tasting followed by walk through and everything felt so in control that I had no worries about the wedding. Ideas about layout and presentation were just additional awesome things that really got my fiancee excited about this day. WEDDING DAY: There was also a limited time crunch because I moved up the reception and there was a meeting going on in the event space leaving little time for set up. She brought on enough people to help that everything was done. I even saw the event space before the guests were let in, and it looked amazing. Even little touches like she put extra lights in empty jars made everything seem like a dream. I just gave vague instructions about where to put things, but Katherine and her assistants made everything seem amazing. Also they helped place 27 water terrarium centerpieces (that is not easy!) Didn't even feel like it was my wedding. She made sure that we ate, and rescued me from the barrage of relatives and people wanting to take pictures. I literally didn't have to do a THING during the wedding. The assistants packaged everything so organized and even saved the entrees that i didn't eat, the top tier of my cake, and also the extra cake left behind. (Cake for breakfast!??!?! Heck yea!) Seriously, if you go with her - take her advice on everything! I'm glad we added an extra hour of DJ, and extra hours for photo and video (was reluctant at first, but this was really KEY ... ). We are so happy we hired Events by Katherine for our wedding on May 26th. Alex and Jordan did a superb job with day of planning and execution - we were beyond impressed with their attention to detail and love and care they took with everything they did. We got married at the Marconi motorsport museum in Tustin, and had the entire evening, including the reception at the single location. There was much to coordinate for each phase from ceremony to the last dance of the night and Alex and Jordan stayed until the job was done - even going above and beyond helping us with our daughter, parents and wrangling family and friends for pictures. We opted for the day of package as we had planned most of the event ourselves in advance - that said their "day of" service is more like MONTH OF +. Alex took the time to meet with us 6+ weeks before our wedding, did an in depth interview with us, gathered all the vendor information, helped us with last minute details and worked on organizing the flow of the evening and final communication with all our vendors. It wasn't until we met Alex did we realize how much MORE work there was to do! The great thing was she handled it all for us and made it look easy and proved how clutch she was before we even got close to the wedding. She also always available and responsive, an important quality given that the bride and groom both live on the east coast and had limited opportunity to discuss plans with her face to face. I got married a few weeks ago in San Clemente and my entire wedding went exactly as planned. I loved every single second of it and I have to thank Katherine and her assistant because they took care of everything for me. All I did was show up and enjoy! I am a control freak and extremely organized, so I wanted to make sure my coordinator would be as meticulous and organized as me. After my first meeting with Katherine I knew she was even more organized and the perfect person to bring every little detail together on my day. She is extremely professional, she listened carefully to what I wanted and then made me aware of dozens of things I had not even considered. After each meeting Katherine would provide me with a recap of all the things we needed to do and all the ones we had done. On our wedding day everything went perfectly. I truly did not have to worry about a thing. I showed up and simply enjoyed every second of it. My fiancé told later that before I arrived to our reception site he saw Katherine fixing quite a few things that were not going as planned. She was able to find a solution on the spot and work with the vendors to fix things that were not going as I wanted. Through the entire process, Katherine remained very calmed and you can really tell she enjoys the craziness it is to plan a wedding. Katherine did a great job coordinating all of our vendors, sifting through hundreds of emails between us and our vendors, and helping to handle some issues with some of vendors before and on the wedding day. I could not be more grateful to the team at Events by Katherine (Alexandra, Jordan and Karley) for making our wedding come together more beautifully than we imagined. To this day, I'm still hearing from so many of our guests "one of the most beautiful weddings I've ever been to". Our day-of coordinator Alexandra met with us 2 months before our big day which took a huge burden off our shoulders just in the nick of time (right when the bridezilla truly starts to emerge). She was definitely the backbone in the final months of planning which alleviated so much stress, not to mention she was also so emotionally supportive! Most people will give their die-hard wedding advice (to do a first look or not). Alexandra, on the other hand, encouraged my husband and I to decide on what felt right to US as a couple rather than following the industry standard. I love that about her.
