We met Eliza when touring a venue for our wedding that required everything to be brought in. She did not sell us on anything and when we were asking about how the set up would be, she shared that she had experience at this venue and that she was a planner. We followed up to see what wedding planning packages she had and safe to say this was the best decision made. Eliza, Tammy + Team provided the full service for our wedding. We hired them for planning, design, coordination, rentals, and florals and it made life so much easier. I had the best experience with Eliza and team with our weekly meetings for a few months to align on all the details. She understand and appreciated our mixed cultural background and how we wanted to incorporate elements of this for a Persian and Vietnamese wedding. I have always heard wedding planning to be stressful but safe to say my experience was the best and the day of the wedding went beautifully. Horrible experience, stay away! This is a review for Eliza at BEL Events for her wedding planning services. We met Eliza at our venue 8 month before our wedding date. During the first session she presented herself well, and she talked and bragged a lot about her 18 yrs of experience in event planning and stories about how she handles wedding situations. So, we thought she is the right event planner for us and signed a contract. After signing the contract and making the payment, she was very hard to find and we did not see the expected action from her side, and every time we followed up, her response was: "don't worry I will manage everything before the wedding day". We were asking for the basics of planning such as timeline, vendor recommendations (a few to choose from) and communications (which was part of the contract) but not no action except a quote of her own rental service. We were getting closer to the wedding date and her lack of action made us so worried and very frustrated. Eventually we had to get involved and did almost 90% of the work ourselves. She was very hard to find but even when we could talk to her, she would create more unnecessary problems to an extant that my wife had panic attacks after a few meetings we had with her. 2 month before our wedding she caused so much anxiety and frustration that we decided to end our contract with her and find another planner. Thankfully, our new planner was amazing and our Wedding planning went very smooth after that, and the event was as wonderful as we could imagine! With way lower cost than what Eliza had proposed! After I requested to cancel the contract she disappeared and never responded to our emails, which is very unprofessional. Here is a list of a few issues from our experience of working with here: 1- Accessibility: every time we had a question or needed to talk to her, it was taking several days until she gets back to us. With irrelevant excuses, like she would show me her busy google calendar! 2- Push to use her own services as vendors: Per her contract she had to suggest different vendors so we can choose. But since she has rental and flower services, she was arguing so much to stop us from even looking at other options! She charges unnecessarily expensive! By doing a little research, we found our vendors and saved at least 50% with same or better quality! 3- Nonsense arguments and rude attitude: In many occasions she was just insisting on holding the event the way SHE wants, without paying attention to our request or desire. Every time we requested something, her answer was: "I don't want MY event to be that way or I don't want MY guests to be that way"!!! With a condescending attitude emphasizing that "I have 18 yrs of experience and I know what to do"!!! Any simple request would become a long story and unnecessary argument. In one occasion my wife requested that guests throw flower petals while walking out of aisle, and she immediately said: "No!, you can't do that, I don't want my cleaning crew spend time on cleaning the petals"!!!! In another occasion Eliza was insisting on only using her recommended valet service (which was quoting more than double the price of the service we eventually used) and on top of it she was forcing us to rent extra parking lot out of venue and pay extra for shuttle service!!!! While the venue had enough capacity! And when I respectfully said: I am confident that the venue has enough capacity for parking, she got very angry and said: "in that case tell all your guests to use UBER and they can't drive their own car"!!! It was a nightmare working with BEL Events and I don't recommend her service due to lack of professionalism and decency in her business. read more

The fact that I had to check off a star to even leave this review is painful. BEL doesnt deserve any accolades. Any folks looking for a planner, please do yourself a favor and do not even take the risk of setting up a meeting with Eliza and BEL - she will catfish you. The only reason there are 4 or 5 star reviews on this page are because that is her close circle of friends who she throws parties for. I made the terrible mistake of hiring BEL for my wedding and putting down a 50% deposit as Eliza asked. After 4 months into the process, and working alongside all my other vendors, the truth came out that Eliza and BEL will never be able to execute on my wedding. From the day I signed her, she was impossible to get a hold of, she never responded to emails, she always gave me the runaround of how busy she was and would say things like "please look at my apple watch and how many steps a day I am getting" to justify the fact that she was ignoring me constantly. Anytime I mentioned a vendor I liked or vibed with, she dismissed my preference for no reason or would SLANDER their name because she didnt want to work with them. She then would follow up with recommending vendors from her inner circle. Her right hand gal who was the only person I was able to communicate with, left the company and Eliza continued to lie to us about her employment status, stating "she still works here" and a few minutes later changing her statement to "I dont know anything - I cannot disclose what she is doing." I, on my own reviewed all my contracts, found my vendors, got things signed and planned, with no help from Eliza. Anytime I suggested we begin working on the next step of the planning process, in the efforts of being collaborative, she would shoo me aside and say "its too early." She was not at all attentive to the needs of us as a couple and the needs of the venue. After hearing that a small, intimate, HOME wedding that she planned turned out to be a disaster, I was encouraged by other vendors to trust my gut and have a meeting with her. My fiance and I drove down to Irvine and sat in her office for 2 hours. These were 2 hours from hell. Eliza interrupted us constantly, would not let us speak, began screaming at us, calling us names, did not listen to any comment we made and even proceeded to say "we (BEL events) hate that you won't let us plan anything" - excuse me? Is that anyway to speak to a client? For any feeling we explained, she was quick to have a counter argument. Your planner should be your friend, your listening ear and be there to please the client. Eliza is everything but that. She has been recently telling vendors to "have a heart and return non-refundable deposits" and claiming that "I returned a $5,000 deposit once." Well I can tell you first hand that that is a lie and, she bluntly said to me "it doesnt matter what you say, I am not giving you your $5k back, either you work with me or dont work with me." Eliza - if you are claiming you gave deposits back, let me know when I can receive a check for my $5,000 you undeservingly kept. Eliza and BEL is the epitome of unprofessional, greedy, selfish and not trustworthy. The moment I walked out of her office, I felt the biggest weight lifted off of my shoulders and ultimately my wedding was a dream thanks to another wedding planner. If you are a bride that is currently signed with her or thinking about signing her - please do yourself a huge favor and walk away. We hired Eliza to help plan our wedding and we are so grateful we did! I met her in the beginning stages of planning our wedding at a potential venue site and I really liked her disposition... I had no idea what I was doing planning this monster wedding and she helped me with everything.... She has a whole organizing system that keeps you in check and helps keep you at ease, has a large Rolodex of vendors to fit your style, and culture. She answers her phone and emails promptly any time of day, has a weekly meeting to go over everything. She really nailed my vision as an end result and fast forward to the big special day! She executed everything so smoothly without error. When an issue would arise she just solved it without stress, there was never a problem only solutions with her and I love that attitude! One complication we had was to find sound and lighting last minute because the person I was dealing with dropped out (A family friends company)and she just handled it 2 weeks before our wedding day, it was under budget, and they did a phenomenal job! That room was lit up. I was so impressed with this whole experience. She kept all the vendors/venue (the Hollywood Roosevelt event planners) in line, kept everyone on the same page and had our best interest on certain charges that weren't right in her experience, Not to mention she dealt with mine and my families crazy, bridezilla moments :) I feel so blessed to have had such a great experience for this one and only special day... and I can't forget to mention Jack and Diana, her team!! If you want to rent chairs and arch for a beach wedding and not have the items show up on time. This IS the company you want to work with. If I could give NEGATIVE stars I would. Booked this order on 7/22/21.. yup folks last year for an event date of 4/23/22. They got their money ZELLE. Word of advice don't work with a company (especially this one) if they ask you to ZELLE them. On the invoice it states deliver time 2:00pm-3:00pm Day of the wedding, Groom calls me at 2:29pm says that he's at the beach location and nothing.. no chairs or arch and guests are arriving. I am a bridesmaid in the wedding but I books these guys, so I make the call. Rings once and then I get hung up on. That's when I realize this is not going to be good. I call back at 2:33pm speak to someone who tells me "Oh they are already on their way." I think okay... call the groom back .. tell him they should be there shortly. Called them again at 2:53pm to get an exact ETA.. I know I should have asked in the prior call. As stated I am in the wedding so I assumed (note the first three letters) that when a company indicates they are on their way.. they are close to the destination. No indication they are running late. But on that call, I get voicemail, which I ask for a call back on the situation. No call back. Call again at 3:25pm get ahold of the same person.. who then tells me they have been waiting 45mins? She then tells me they are by some location #5.. I tell her that is not what the instructions state. It states Cottage #13, by then I have already lost my cool, and am now talking in a loud voice. She states she can text me showing they are suppose be a location #5, luckily for me I also pulled up the invoice on my phone and I told her that I can show her that the location #13 and nowhere was there a number #5. She proceeds to say she will need to call her people, but before hanging up I tell her...if they have been waiting 45mins to unload why was no one called? No answer to that question. I mean you charged me $250 for delivery along with a $400 charge for installation. Now we are all that beach location, wedding to start at 4pm and guess what no chairs I call again at 3:37pm and no answer. 3:40pm the truck arrives... with 3 people that need to set up 75 chairs and an arch that should have been done 1-2hrs earlier. We had to have the wedding guests put out the chairs...WEDDING GUESTS... we paid $650 for guests to be setting up the chairs...along with assisting in getting the arch installed and position, I mean seriously? This company is great on the communication in the beginning when they need to take your money. The day of your event expect to have delays and NO Apologies. We are contacting the bank on these people... but till then we want people to be fully aware of who you are dealing with once they take your money. 1st picture is a GUEST (A WEDDING GUEST) carrying chairs to help get the venue set up since, now the wedding was going to start late. 2nd picture shows the 3 people from the company, who only spoke Spanish and NO one that spoke English. And when you get someone to speak to them in Spanish... they only have excuses.. and they didn't confirm that they had been waiting for 45 mins so the owner Eliza who I had been talking to all day was lying. 3rd picture ...got the image from the photographer on the Arch.. as you can see looks like they nailed setting it up... It is very suspicious that this business has either 1-star or 5-star reviews, unfortunately I must go with the 1-star review. We hired Bel Events for decorations only. My daughter didn't want all the bells and whistles, but we decided to splurge on covering the hotel's blue and gold carpet with a white one. During the set up my wedding planner and her staff noticed that the carpet was not laid evenly, there were pieces overlapping by the entrance, the dance floor and throughout the room which they believed would cause a hazard. They asked Eliza to fix it, but instead she got offended that she was being criticized and left it alone. Sure enough, during the wedding multiple people tripped, fell, and broke their heels. The groom's grandmother fell, broke her shoulder, had to be taken to the emergency room and missed the entire wedding. In the weeks following the wedding we kept hearing more unpleasant stories from guests about the carpet bunching up and their accidents through the evening. Eliza was not present at the wedding and when I contacted her after about this, she handled it in the most unprofessional manner. First, she yelled at me, next she told me that she knew ahead of time that it was impossible to lay the carpet flat and finally she denied that any of the above-mentioned accidents happened. My venue stated that the lady dropping off the flowers was quite rude and yelled at them. I feel that if you aren't spending a certain amount she doesn't care about your order/business. Don't look any further! You need to hire Bel Events if you love micromanaging, unkept promises, late meetings, rude owner, correcting emails sent out to vendors, being dragged into drama, "missing email communication" from them that they "see" in their sent box but for some reason it has not shown up in both yours and your fiancé's inbox, losing your time & money and a truckload of excuses. We FIRED them because we don't trust that they could execute the day of the event given how much they have dropped the ball on everything, along with the built up frustration, over the span of the businesses relationship. One pro was that they were able to help us contact another person to escalate the postponement of the wedding. Negative was that they did not follow up on the new wedding dates with me after we had sent it. When we didn't hear back for almost 3 weeks WE bumped the email with the venue (only to find out the wedding in 3 months was NOT postponed at all which led us to escalate). Can you imagine if we had not bumped it and our wedding was coming up and we didn't even know about it?? Their lack of management caused many weeks of delays and we loss out on multiple ceremony slots/dates for my postponement. We could go on and on about the unprofessionalism here but they will just argue back about everything... If you're excited to do things like setting up a meeting, waiting for them to show up late, and then use the time to debate about their conflict of interest between prioritizing you as a client and their relationship with vendors, and you just can't wait to waste $1,750 on the deposit - do not hesitate, hire Bel Events now! It's not like you have a lot of other things you need to spend your wedding budget on right?! I wish I could give this company ZERO starts!!Bel Events reached out to me for business as I was getting married. Eliza was great at first. She sat with us to get to know us and our vision. I asked her many times if we need to draw up a contract to finalize the date and she kept saying "no don't worry I have your date down". We then did a walk thru with my family and my Coordinator at the venue we chose the mandap and every detail, and her assistant took detailed notes on everything I wanted, Before Eliza left she assured me that she will work with our budget and make everything beautiful, this was a few weeks out from our wedding at this point. She said she would send the quote in the next few days and she never sent it. I had to contact her and she said the person checking the quote left for vacation and left it open and would send it when she comes back since it could not be sent out sinceit was not accessible. A few more days went by and nothing!!! I finally called the office and the same girl that did the walkthru with Eliza answered, I told her what the situation was she called Eliza and the lady said it will be sent out next week, I told the assistant none if it made sense and to be truthful with me. I had her call Eliza back ans this woman had the nerve to put it on me and said she is waiting for me to FINALIZE and choose some items!! At this point I was so upset since it was so close to my wedding and I have had nothing empty promises from Eliza. I even started crying due to frustration and beimg put through so much stress, and I can tell the girl on the phone was trying to cover up for how pathetic Eliza was. I texted Eliza and she ghosted me!!!!! A few weeks out from my wedding and I had NO decor person at all for my wedding or reception. I texted Eliza and let her know that I trusted her and she left me with no decor person, and she still decided not to reply to me. If you are a couple looking for decor DO NOT go with Eliza please!! I simply think Eliza did not want to work with us since we did not want to spend half a million on her crappy services, instead of simply explaining things to us and letting know she wasn'twilling to work with our budget she acted in the most unprofessional manner ever, the budget part is just my speculation as to why she did what she did. The amount of stress this pathetic woman put me through is indescribable. As a human being Eliza didn't have enough of a heart to call us to let us know what the deal was. Bel Events is extremely unprofessional and I would never ever recommend them to anyone no matter what their budget is. Do not waste your time to go into their showroom so she can sweet talk you either, luckily we did not give her any money, but to clarify she did not take deposit or anything even when I asked her. I am not here to bash anyone and their business because we all work hard, but what Eliza did was just wrong, and couples should know before she decides to do this to another couple. Good luck to Bel Events. No excuses Bel Events gives for this will justify what Eliza did and how she left me scrambling to find decor for our wedding a couple of weeks before my wedding. But, since the (large) company I worked for had used BEL and had no issues, I went ahead and took the plunge. BIG MISTAKE. HUGE. We all know how stressful it can be to plan any event...when that event is a party celebrating a family member's 21st birthday, well... Things started off really well. Great responsiveness. They worked with me on what I wanted, got it all confirmed and, of course, paid for. Then came the big day. Delivery between 8:00 am and noon. I had made it very clear I needed the table, linens and chairs by noon and they committed to having them to me. Reservation paperwork even says so. First call at 11:30...just to see if I could get some sort of status as I was, I'll admit, starting to get a bit nervous. No answer, left vmail. Next call at 12:15...no answer, left vmail. Emailed (at 12:30) my salesperson and, I assume, the owner. No response. They showed up just after 1:30. Table, check. Tablecloth, check. Chairs...nope. Well, sure, they brought chairs. Really odd looking, clear plastic chairs. Not the gold Chiavari chairs to go with the black cushions that I paid for as my decorating theme was black and gold. Oh, to be fair, they did bring the black cushions. Guy on the truck calls someone...says yes, yes the Chiavari chairs are on his list but not on his truck. Then he tells me, they have them and will "get them right over". Next call at 3:20. No answer, left vmail. Next call at 4:15. No answer, left vmail. Keep in mind, my dinner party is supposed to start at 6:00 pm. Next call at 5:07. No answer, left vmail. Next call at 5:39. No answer, left vmail. Instead of the gold and black chairs to go with my lovely table, I ended up - thank goodness for my neighbor - with 10, mismatched, folding card table chairs. It's now 2:45 pm the Monday after my Saturday event and they still have yet to contact me to explain what happened, apologize, offer any kind of refund (hah). And, I still have the table, linens and cushions as they were a no show in the 8:00 am to 5:00 pm window they gave themselves for pick up. Bottom line...be careful. Be certain. Horrible horrible experience. The owner is very full of herself and rude. Thinks she knows everything about weddings and space planning, but never bothered to listen to how we wanted our wedding to look. From the very first day she came to look at our place and told us what we needed to rent, we kept telling her there's no way it would fit safely. However, she convinced us to trust her space planning. When her workers showed up to drop off, nothing fit anywhere and we had to return a lot of items because we felt it would be dangerous for our guests. She claims she uses Google earth for measuring, but nothing fit! She also repeatedly claims her workers don't need any guidance, they show up with a map and know where everything goes. That was far from the truth. When they showed up to deliver all the items for our wedding, they had no idea what went where, if we weren't home to guide them, it would have been a disaster. When she found out we returned items, she called us complaining how it was an inconvenience for her business. I'm sorry, but our guests would have been injured by the way she wanted to place items. When she came with her workers to pick up items, she asked us to haul items into their truck. We said no because she had 2 grown men with her to help! We were also under the impression her delivery/pickup fee was meant to pay for the workers to do the work! I've never paid for something and had to do the work myself. When we said no, she threw a tantrum and we could hear her talking behind our backs with her workers. Overall, a horrible experience, would not recommend. Following up to the owner's response: Again, her very first sentence starts off with how great she is and how much experience she has. Secondly, she thinks she did us a favor by "gifting" us sofreh aghd items. She herself knows all boxes of items were returned with the workers when they dropped off everything before our wedding! We didn't touch a single item, especially since once we opened the bins, there were weird creatures crawling around, see picture. She even came to pick up all the rentals the Sunday after our wedding, there was not one sofreh aghd item for her to take back! It's sad someone with "20 years experience" can be such a liar. Eliza at BelEvents has a keen eye for design! My daughter's wedding was above and beyond what we expected! They are professional, and just made the day seamless and AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL ! I cannot stress enough how highly I recommend BelEvents! They fixed the flowers on the wedding cake (it came from the bakery with dead flowers) Eliza spotted that issue and replaced all the flowers and made it look 10x better! We did the minimum package with Bel Events and they really rose to the occasion. They were completely in charge of the set up for the ceremony and the reception. Believe me, the place looked beautiful. I mean truly awesome. Emma coordinated well with all of our vendors save one. Emma recommended the tuxedo rental and they were awesome. She also recommended the pastry place and it was incredible. Our DJ Dewey did an awesome job, the florist was ready, and the photobooth was a hit. Bar seemed fine. Photgrapher was amazing. The only issue was servers. They did not really help and Emma had to be on them all the time. They did not pass out all appetizers and guests thought we were out. Food was not placed in the trays and guests thought we were out when a lot of food was left over. But, that was minor as my fiancee (I mean wife!) had such a great time and everyone said how they enjoyed the wedding. This company deserves less than one star. Except for the wedding planner, Dana Erickson, the staff is very unresponsive and unprofessional. They do not deliver what they promise and they are overpriced. The drapery on the gazebo was the wrong color and they even failed to cover a couple of pillars. The horrible drapery work did not allow the florist to do her work and made the whole gazebo look shabby. In addition to making the error, Eliza had the gall to say that the client requested it even when I have the proof of Dana sending her the pictures a few days before the event. Half the table cloths were the wrong color and were not even the material we paid for. What is more shocking is boxes of our personal stuff that were packed after the event simply disappeared. Since the event, I have sent several emails to Eliza requesting for a response to the issues but she has not had the decency to reply. They had only a couple of volunteers for 380 guests and many tasks were dropped or delayed due to under staffing. The wedding program was simply scattered all over the receiving desk and none of the items requested were placed on it. Dana was overworked on the event day...she was too good for Bel and has left the company since then. Bel is very quick to collect the money but very irresponsible in their service. They should rightfully refund us for all their mistakes. read more

Very unprofessional!!! Stood me up 3 times!!! I am happy I did not go with BEL event Production. I acquired for their services and pricing and they asked me to meet up in person or via zoom meeting. They cancelled on me last minute while I was on my way to their showroom. I totally understand that emergencies can happen so I had asked to reschedule the meeting. They stood me up 2 more times via zoom meeting that never happened. Wasting my time 3 times for a meeting that never happened, you have to imagine what are their work ethics while you sign a contract for your big day. read more

This review is long overdue but exactly on our 1-year anniversary date :) First off, Arika and Morgan were AMAZING from start to finish! We had a little trouble with the original girl helping us...turns out she was leaving the company and wasn't doing much work on any tasks. But once Morgan found out, she resolved the situation professionally and quickly, and we felt very well taken care of. We then found ourselves with Arika, which was the start of a great planning experience leading to AMAZING wedding! Looking back at the amount of work she put into our wedding, I can't imagine how we would've survived on our own. To start with, the wedding was a combined Indian/Vietnamese one, and there was a LOT going on. We had so many different needs and requirements for each culture, and we also had an American ceremony and SEVERAL outfit changes. We also started the planning process late so everything had to be done quickly. Here's a breakdown of our experience: Flowers: Since our wedding was only 6 days after Valentine's Day, we knew that flowers would be super expensive and of course they were. However, we did need a lot of flowers, especially for the Indian ceremony part, so it was impossible to avoid having to get as much as we can without breaking the bank. Bel was able to cut down a lot of the costs and the final quote was very manageable. And the flowers were beautiful! Cake: The cake vendor completely messed up our order! We ordered a wedding cake with dividers so we can add flowers in between. Instead they dropped off a cake on the day of the wedding that although was beautiful and really delicious, had no dividers and was too small. Arika personally contacted the cake vendor right away the same day and talked with them for us and was able to get us a $100 credit back! That was an unexpected surprise but definitely great, we ended getting birthday cakes from that bakery later during the year using that credit. Decorations/Lightings: We went through Bel for all the decors and lightings. Arika and Morgan spent a lot of time working out the details of the reception table setting, centerpieces, and all that fun stuff with my husband. They were a great help even for the cultural décor and items! It was SO HELPFUL having their experience with cultural weddings because they knew which ceremonies linked to each other and how to manage the order and timing. That seriously helped us so much. They were flexible with everything we needed, even after we changed our minds on a bunch of things. They gave us quick quotes with all the costs broken down so it was easy to customize whatever we needed. They delivered exactly what they promised and we both loved everything they set up for us. Secret room: (written by husband) My favorite part about working with Arika was her excitement about my little side project...a "secret" room with photo booths, video booths, picture backdrops, and a chill lounge area which could only be accessed after all the guests worked together to solve a puzzle and open the doors. Yeah this took a TON of planning. We needed a whole new set of lights/lighting with different colors and setup than the rest of the wedding, setup of a white curtain "wall" to block off the room from the guests as a surprise, having all the vendors secretly set up in there without the guests knowing, and coordination with the DJ to make a grand reveal once the puzzle was solved. Arika helped with all of this and she was just incredible. She made the whole process simple and she was such a pleasure to work with! Overall we had a great experience with BEL! We came across BEL Events in 2019 as we were planning our engagement party. As we arrived for our initial consultation, we were greeted by Eliza (the owner) who helped us map out our vision and goals for the party. She was very well versed in the industry and had direct contacts to the best vendors in town. Eliza always took the time to know us as a couple as well as us as individuals. She provided meaningful insight on decor, entertainment and overall vision based off our personalities and likings. Our engagement party was a super HIT and is still talked about by family members and guests. We made the decision to go ahead with BEL events for our wedding in 2020, however, due to the pandemic, we had to reschedule and cancel our plans. Throughout the process, Eliza and her team were very cognizant of our needs and kept providing reassurance that we would have a great wedding when the right time comes. As we shifted to the end of 2021, we resurfaced the wedding conversation and explored multiple venue options with Eliza. We appreciated her determination to find us the best options for our budget. She has been a true pillar of support through contract negotiations, vendor coordination and planning services. Our 2022 wedding was planned from a different state and that was a challenge of its own, however, Eliza made it a point to host weekly, virtual 1:1 meetings with us to discuss our concerns, questions and progress till the big day!
