My friend and I used Events West for their Trolley on wheels to celebrate our birthdays with our friends. Best decision ever!! I'm honestly so happy with how everything turned out and our friends had such a good time. I got to play my playlist on their Bluetooth speaker they have set up in the trolley and it was amazingly loud and would catch people's attentions in the streets and they would wave at us. Ed the driver was super sweet and gave me several suggested routes. I went with his preference since I had no idea. On top of that one of my guests couldn't meet us at the initial pick up boarding spot. So Ed helped coordinate a location for them to meet us at and we picked them up from there. Super helpful!! The host Christine was friendly and great! She's a great host and really helped me with any questions or concerns I had. Armando the bar tender knows how to make one hell of a drink. Super impressed! I highly recommend the Events West Trolley Car! We had a recent City Hall SF wedding ceremony from 1-2pm. While planning the day I was struggling to come up with something for 14 of us to do between the ceremony and an elegant evening dinner. This was both our second marriages, we love the city, we are so happy,and we want to have fun.. (and not walk a lot ha). We are a group of 20, 40 ,50 and 60 somethings all dressed up and ready to go, but where?! Our photographer suggested we rent a trolley through Events West. We figured it would be a great way to stay dressed up and see the city with our out of town guests. Ben the owner was great. I contacted him and he suggested we stop at a food truck and bring a playlist as they have Bluetooth capability. He is very friendly and genuinely interested in helping his clients have a good time. I paid a little extra so we could bring champagne on board - (and snacks!) total blast. Ben is great with pre arrangements. Things went smoothly and no surprises. After the wedding ceremony, Liz , the amazing ,super fun , responsible , driver was waiting out front of City Hall for us. We all went out, took pictures and boarded the trolley! The party started right there as we turned the corner of City Hall - the best! We had THE most FUN adventurous afternoon! Liz rang the bell and we laughed and laughed- we were all different ages and having a blast. We stopped up at the Presidio food trucks.. had some tacos in our wedding clothes, hopped back on.. went below the Golden Gate Bridge.. went throughout the city. Liz dropped us off at our hotel on union square! It was literally the highlight of the day!! Everyone said it was such a fun great experience. The trolley was waiting promptly for us as the designated wait time and Lacreshia was a pleasure to have as our driver. Ben and the Events West Team were the highlight of my husband's surprise 30th birthday celebration. We had an absolute blast riding around SF, bar and club hopping, and jamming out on the trolley. It's the perfect recipe for an epic night: 40 friends swagged out in 1920's attire riding around on a party trolley with OPEN BAR ON BOARD! I've never written a bad review on Yelp, but my poor experience with Events West was enough to push me to my first. I would never use this service again, and would definitely not recommend it to anyone else. The main reason my organization chose Events West is because they offered wi-fi on the motor coaches. We specifically requested a coach with wi-fi, only for the driver to tell us that the wi-fi wasn't working. Okay - I get it - sometimes networks break down, but a good business recognizes that it's on them when that happens. However, when I emailed after the trip to request a small discount because of the inconvenience ($80 out of $1,400 - hardly unreasonable), the response I received was a rude and unprofessional dismissal. I asked if there was anyone I could speak to on the phone to discuss the issue further... I never got a response - they completely ignored me. Seriously one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. Once they have your money, they stop caring! I wish we had gone with United Coach Tours - same service for a lot cheaper. We hired a cable car for our wedding in Livermore. The booking agent was a little concerned about having the cable car go all the way out to Livermore, but for a little extra charge he decided it would be OK. I would say all's well that ends well, things did not start well. We were told that he wouldn't go on the freeway, so we mapped out the journey and figured out the timing based on him staying on the streets. It was a Friday at rush-hour on 580, so my guests sat on the cable car in traffic because he took the freeway which during rush hour it took twice as long to get between the hotel and the winery. There was a second set of people that needed to be picked up, so the ceremony ended up starting 45 minutes late when the trolley of guests finally arrived. However, to make up for this issue they added an extra half an hour at the end of our day which meant guests could stay at the reception later. The driver was great, he was very sweet and very attentive. Everyone loved riding the cable car between the ceremony and reception. The pictures are amazing! At the end of the night, he took the last group back to the hotel again on the freeway, apparently it was "the ride of our lives". We would totally do it again, but we definitely would give the exact route we wanted the driver to take and add a lot of extra time . read more

Ben was very helpful in planning my event, and the actual bus was very nice. HOWEVER.... The driver Francisco was a huge A-Hole the entire night. Seemed unhappy, depressed and bitter. He remained to be a jerk even after my boyfriend handed him $20 because he made us feel so bad! Events West also charged me a ridiculous fee ($350 !!) to clean the bus and accused someone of vomiting (which did NOT happen.) They continued to make false accusations and tried to back them up with photos. Mind you, these photos were not date or time stamped so they could have been taken at any time. They refused to provide me with a statement of how the $350 was calculated. Yes we did drink on the bus but Francisco lied and said there were no cleaning supplies on the bus (I was later informed by Ben that there were) so we weren't able to clean up after ourselves at all. I had a wonderful experience with Events West and with Ben. He helped me out of a jam we were in after we fell in with a less-than-reputable bus company, Marquico (or S.F. Charters.) As a teacher, I fund-raise like a maniac so the class can have extra trips and supplies. I had planned on taking the kids to the aquarium in Monterey and with a lot of help from some fabulous friends we raised over a thousand dollars to rent a bus to get us there. I found Marquico (aka: S.F. Charters) through their online site...one of many, we found out later. When I found out how Marquico ran their "business," I quickly asked for a refund of our money, which they did not give easily. It took nearly three weeks of constant phone calls and a surprise visit to their office in San Leandro to get them to write me a check. (If you're curious about their ways, Google "Marquico bus" and see what pops up. You'll find a lot of stories that did not end nearly as well as mine. They are now under investigation by the D.A., btw.) I called Events West with my problem...I did not have the money yet because Marquico wasn't returning any of my phone calls. The date of the trip was fast approaching and I was in a panic. Ben put me at ease immediately, and told me he would book the bus without pressuring me to give him the deposit right away. The bus ride was comfortable, clean, and the driver had a stash of Pixar dvds at the ready for the short attention span audience. The kids loved the aquarium and the two hour ride back to San Francisco was a breeze. Granted, it was a little more than we had initially paid Marquico, but totally worth it. I gladly paid the extra money, just for peace of mind alone. Ben was extremely helpful and understanding. I am so grateful to Events West for providing me with reliable bus service, but more importantly, SAVING MY SANITY. He kept saying his price was "all inclusive" then would tack on charges and such as we went along. "Yes this is the all inclusive price, plus $50 for gas...." Ben helped me with my 25th bday trolley party. My friends still talk about that amazing party until today. It's was so amazing having a trolley drive you arond to different venues and even have a bartender on the trolley and playing loud music too! It was quite an entrance and exit. 20 boys and 20 girls partying together made quite the 25th birthday =) Nothing went wrong this night at all. Oh yah, our drivers name was Mr. Belding (like on saved by the bell!) he was the bestest ever! The only reason I gave them less stars is because they are pricier than all transportation companies. I booked the motorized trolly for my wife's 30th birthday party this past weekend. We had 30 people attend and it was an absolute blast! The Events West folks were amazing to work with and helped us put together an incredible evening. Ben was incredibly responsive and was kind enough to help me customize our alcohol selection using their pre-set packages as a base. That helped since everyone had particular favorites they wanted to see. On the night of, the host team of Richard, Hector and Rhonda were fantastic. Hector was flexible and accommodating with regards to the route and made some great suggestions along the way. We even stopped at the Soma food trucks for an evening snack. Rhonda kept everyone's glasses full and Richard made sure everyone was entertained and most importantly, safe throughout the night. Nothing but positive things to say about Events West! If you're looking for a memorable 'SF' activity, I assure you, there's nothing more 'SF' than cruising around the city in a trolley. The open bar on board does not hurt either! We booked a trolley for 4 hours - which was the perfect amount of time. You can choose your stops if you'd like, but we deferred to the expert advise of our driver, Ed. He took us down an amazing route, and was sure to include plenty of bathroom breaks for us along the way. Our bartender, Rohnda, made our drinks strong, and our host Ernesto kept the party moving. The office staff, specifically Natasha, was super helpful as well. Natasha made sure we had all of the necessary information prior to our trip, and helped us choose the bar package that best met our needs (you can select between different tiers of quality of booze for different prices). Note: The capacity on the trolley is technically 40, but I wouldn't recommend more than 30 people. It can get crowded! Especially when everyone is trying to make it back to the bar. First my wedding: I was intent on doing the touristy trolley cars to get my guest from downtown to Sutro Heights Park and Events West definitely had the cheapest rate. The cars were exactly what I hoped for... Authentic looking and clean. The drivers were great and even took us for a little tour because we were on time. It was great and everyone had a blast! Then I rented a bus to taxi guests back to their hotels. That was not how I planned on spending the last hour of my wedding at 2 in the morning, but whatever, it was another story and it was the driver's first day. What can you do? I've been to multiple events where Events West provided the transportation from buses to trolleys. Most recently it was for our wedding. We rented a 31 passenger bus during the day to shuttle the bridal party around San Francisco to take photos at the Palace of Fine Arts and Crissy Field. That same bus also transported our guest from the hotel to our wedding venue before the 5 pm ceremony. We also had a 35 passenger bus shuttle our guests from the venue back to the hotel at the end of the evening. The drivers are friendly, the buses are clean and the prices are competitive. They provided us with a San Francisco cable care to shuttle our guests to and from the ceremony location out in the vineyards. I have to say, Events West handled our needs professionally from start to finish! On the day of the wedding, we had some issues come up regarding the transportation, and the great folks at EW spent every bit of energy they had to make sure our needs were met. The cable car that arrived was of excellent quality, and we have some photographs from that day that are truly amazing....us on the cable car with the light going down in the vineyard. Renting a group or special purpose vehicle in the bay area leaves you with very few options, and as an event planner myself, I know how unreliable they often are. We rented a limo for a sweet sixteen party. I chose Events West because they have a Better Business Bureau rating of A+ which was important to me because of our under-age guests. Everything was perfect! The staff was 100% professional from start to finish. We received a professional contract so that the staff fully understood our needs. The driver arrived on time and had all the addresses logged in the phone to help navigate and facilitate pickup all our guests. The company also let me sit in the passenger side with the chauffer so that I could allow my kiddo to have friend time without a mom. It worked out beautifully. The chauffer/driver was steady and careful navigating in cul de sacs and narrow passages and even train tracks on our journey. He was very professional, courteous and mindful of safety. I rented a trolley for 4 hours on my wedding day to take pictures before the ceremony and transport my guests from their hotels to the venue. We were really looking forward to riding the trolley with the wedding party and getting pictures on the trolley and at the Palace of Fine Arts. I provided a detailed timeline to Events West that indicated we were on a tight schedule. The wedding party had 2 hours to take pictures before we needed to be at the wedding venue. The trolley was then supposed to pick up guests for the remaining rental period. Ten minutes before the trolley was set to arrive, we got a call saying the trolley was going to be late and they would keep us posted on their progress. Long story short, over an hour past the scheduled arrival time, a bus arrived, not a trolley. (Later Ben, from Events West, told us that the brakes went out on the trolley and almost got into an accident on the way to pick us up.) This left us only 45 minutes to get to the venue, including a stop at the Palace of Fine Arts. My fiance and I ended up renting an uber in order to take pictures by ourselves at the Palace, and let the bus with our wedding party arrive at the venue without us. We were really disappointed that we didn't get to take the pictures we wanted on our wedding day, partially due to the transportation being over an hour late and partially due to the fact that it was a bus and not a trolley. Worse yet, the driver who picked us up said "I'm only helping. I don't know how long I can stay for." Do you have any idea how stressful that was? We waited and waited for a shuttle to arrive and then when it did, 75 minutes late, he told me he's not sure how long he can stay for! Even though we made it clear to the driver that we were is a huge rush, the driver spent time outside the vehicle, on the phone while we were asking him to drive us from location to location. We contracted with Events West for a trolley for 4 hours. Instead, we got a bus for 2 hours. Ben refused to give us a full refund and said that he "could have just not shown up at all." Instead he kept $500, even though the rack rate for the bus we got was $620 for 4 hours. The fact that they would overcharge us after such a poor experience is infuriating. I am looking for a bus for my works BBQ party so I have heard a lot of prices all day, one of which was $700 for a half an hour, are you kidding me. The motorized trolley itself was amazing! A highlight to my 28th birthday. Every single person that stepped onto the trolley at the beginning of the night and that stepped off at the end had an ear to ear grin spread across their face the ENTIRE time. We had so much fun driving around the city and bar hopping. I know that we will def do this again to relive our "trolley night" However, several setbacks... A. The company was unable to tell us until we stepped onto the trolley that night what kind of sound system we were working with. Of course, as you can imagine, this was HUGE, because music can literally make or break a party. The trolley we received had no IPod hookup, it didn't even have an AV outlet. So we were seriously working with CD player and/or radio. Bummer. B. The driver didnt seem to listen to us when we told him to "drive around before dropping us off at the next bars. I mean, isn't part of renting a bar hop trolley to ride around in? Of course, this didn't stop us from having a great time, but I do wish he had taken that into consideration. Back in 2010 I was looking to do something a little bit different for my annual Flag Day party. I had just moved to San Francisco, so I thought a cable car pub crawl would be the perfect event. A Google search provided me with a number of cable car rental options, and I called every single one. Events West won me over because they had the best price and I was able to customize the bar on our cable car to include American Beer. Ben specifically was super helpful in helping me plan the pub crawl route (again, I was new to the city, so this was crucial and definitely above and beyond). Our event back in 2010 was so epic we've been coming back to Events West every year since. We've been working with Events West for the past four years, and we can't imagine our annual Flag Day celebration without the help of Events West. The cable cars have always been very well maintained and the staff is always exceptional. This year Hector was our driver and Kerstin was our attendant. I've seen other shout outs to Hector and they are all very well deserved. He is very friendly and professional. I hired Events West for wedding transportation for our wedding party and to shuttle the guests back and forth from the hotel to the reception. Their prices were very competitive with the others that we called. They upgraded our shuttle bus to a bigger size for no extra cost, which was great! The limo service was wonderful, and we had a great time. We did have a some miscommunication as far as where the bus was going to be waiting for everyone, but Ben called later to get everything cleared up with me about exactly what happened. I rented the Trolley for my 26th Birthday this last weekend and everyone that attended said that it was the best birthday celebration they've been to in years...if not ever! The staff was absolutely amazing: Natasha was the coordinator who made everything a very seamless process. Their response time is amazing and they were able to book us and get everything processed very quickly! Dori was our host and was very sweet and kept making sure I was having a good time! They were very patient with all of my intoxicated friends and were extremely helpful in making sure everyone was enjoying themselves! Ben Lichtman was just terrific help when I needed a bus for a 2-day corporate offsite for 18 people. Price was fair, service was wonderful. Participants loved the very helpful, always on-time, driver. I never had any trouble reaching Ben via email or phone. Contrast this with the nightmarish service we received from Bauer, the last time we needed bus transportation. I placed that Bauer order a month in advance. Even with a confirmation number, they couldn't find the order a few days prior when I called to confirm, the eventual bus was substandard, the driver late. The woman who initially confirmed my order was rude. Before the event, we spent a couple of days scrambling to get Bauer's attention. It seems to me that if you aren't a regular & huge client (like Google is) for them, they just don't care if you get service or not. Their scheduling was complete and detailed, the drivers were always on time, or a bit early, for the 16 pick ups and deliveries. The drivers were courteous, safety minded, professional and fully cooperative. Ben in the office was most helpful. Their prices were somewhat higher than others. I'm glad I didn't read the reviews on yelp before choosing Events West for a Cable Car/Trolley Car rental for our wedding. I went with the recommendation of our wedding coordinator and we had a fine experience with Ben setting up our rental. He was responsive and clear throughout our communications. But the reason we are giving Events West a 5 star review is because of our driver, Hector H. He was AMAZING! He was very knowledgable and in good spirits. We had about 1.5 hours to tour San Francisco between our ceremony and reception. Hector had great ideas about where to take us and worked with us to incorporate the locations that we wanted to drive by and stop at for pictures. This past new years eve my friends and I decided to do something different, so we booked a trolley through Ben and his team and I can definitely say we had one of the best new years eve experiences ever! The drinks never stopped flowing, we listened to all of our favorite music, and we explored all over San Francisco. Ben and his team were super accommodating to all of our requests and they made our new years eve fun, safe, and one to remember (or not to remember for a couple people). I thought that having the trolley for 6 hours would be too long, but it ended up working out perfectly with our stops and getting everyone home around 2 am. The trolley can fit up to 40 people and we had that exact amount. It worked out great, but I would recommend having closer to 30 people so people can move around the trolley easier. If you want a different NYE experience with some of your closest friends and a trolley full of drinks and music - I would definitely recommend this!! read more

This is honestly the first time I've ever spent the time to write a negative review about a company. Usually I just chalk it up to a bad day on someone's part. But, after just hanging up from my third phone call this week to this company - trying to GIVE THEM MY RESERVATIONS, I decided to let other people know about my experience. I was trying to book 3 reservations - two mini-bus reservations and one limo reservation. With the economy being what it is these days, I guess I thought this would be something of interest to them. I first called and gave all my dates, number of people, contact information, etc. (which takes awhile) to Paul on Monday, and he said he'd be back to me the next day. When I didn't hear back from him, I called on Wednesday and spoke with another person who said they would make sure he called me back that day. This being Thursday, and having not received a call, I made my third phone call. When he came on the line and asked me how I was doing, I told him I was frustrated - I didn't expect to have to make three phone calls to just get a quote. He said they had been having computer issues - to which I asked him why he didn't call me then, to which he said they had been having phone problems as well. I was seriously asking myself why I was "trying" to still book my plans with a company that didn't return my calls and also has unreliable computer and phone service, but I was still moving forward until Paul said, "ok - what do you need" - I said "do you have all the information I originally gave you on Monday" and he said "no - he did not - and we would have to start at the beginning". At this time I decided to "start at the beginning with another company" - which is what I told him. He couldn't hang up the phone quickly enough. He said they were very busy this week and had a lot going on, and hung up. Someone seriously needs to teach this guy and this company about customer service. In my world, it's paramount to make every customer feel like their business is important. I am an event planner and personal assistant - I speak to many people in the industry, and are involved in many events. My opinion of them may be of interest to my peers if not to them. We scheduled almost 3 weeks in advance for a trolley .We were notified several hours before on the day of the event that they were having mechanical issues and we may not be up & running in time . We were promised a call back at 11am to let us no the status , no call . After several failed attempts to call them we finally got a hold of Ben who obviously has no idea how to run a business . So it's now 3 hours before the event & we were just told the trolley was fixed but now they don't have a driver . If you want to set up a fun event & get screwed but not in a good way use this company . read more

We contracted EventsWest for our wedding day, to transport guests from our ceremony to reception on a cable car in SF. Everyone was so excited about this special event. We contracted, in writing, 3 trips (thinking 35 people per trip due to their safety rules), which would take less than 2 hours. So, we contracted, in writing, the cable car for 2 hours. When my maid of honor comes up to me as I'm getting pictures taken after the wedding saying that the driver, Henry, says we only get 2 trips, that is all that it says on his itenerary, period!, I told her that was incorrect, we contracted 3 and to have him do 3. Of course, I was a busy bride, we had to finish getting pictures in our last few minutes we had left in the church, so my MOH took care of the situation. Basically, she had to cram 2 trips into 1! My guests were totally crammed with over 60 people on one cable car! Then, when the final trip of the bridal party went, we got to the venue with over 40 minutes left to spare before 6 pm! What the heck! Of course there was leftover time because there was supposed to be 3 trips. I emailed Ben the very next day. He never responded. So, I called EventsWest the following week after our honeymoon. Paul answered and was very concerned, he seemed to be very helpful and apologetic about the situation, saying that he saw the discrepancy between my signed contract and the one that the driver got (with their contracted "Ducks" company they get the cable cars from). There in lies the problem. They don't own the cable cars, they have to hire ANOTHER company and in the process from middle man to the final man, SOMEONE CHANGED OUR CONTRACT to have 2 trips instead of 3. Then, the driver shows up with a modified contract!!! SLEEZY!!! Yes, if I had thought a problem would occur like this, I would have brought my signed contract to give to my MOH. If you work with this company, BRING YOUR CONTRACT WITH YOU TO THE EVENT. But, the driver, Henry, didn't even bother to call his manager about it, to see if the problem could be fixed. I wish my MOH would have thought to call dispatch, but would that have even helped if they had the wrong contract, too?! Paul never called me back, but then I receive an email from Ben saying it is MY FAULT that the driver didn't do his JOB, and that their company didn't do the CONTRACTED AGREED # OF TRIPS. How is this MY fault again????? I tried to get in contact with Paul again without success. BIG SURPRISE. This company seems HORRIBLY run by some guy, Ben, that doesn't care about his customers, doing what is fair, right, just, and overall kind. Ben was rude and unapologetic. He needs to find another job and let someone else run the company or they will go in the ground, as they should, treating their customers this way. We will be filing a claim with small claims court. They didn't do what was written in the contract. It says nothing about the customer's "duties" if something isn't correctly done on the company's end. I was hopeful, but now I concur, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. There are other, price-comparable cable car charters in the area. Use them instead. (And if you by chance read his response to this post - it states several lies! 1-That the driver had to "wait" for the first trip. this was untrue, we were trying to figure out the situation after he said there would only be 2 trips! We had to revise a plan and get more people on the cable car rides so everyone would fit at that point! 2-We arrived 40 minutes EARLY to the reception venue and to boat was not even there yet! The groom and I loitered around with our guests for a long time, and then Henry said, "well, you can take pictures since there's extra time!" 3-It is not UP to the driver to NOT do his job that we have in writing. The very job that BEN in fact recommended ; 3 trips will be just fine within the 2 hour reservation. Paul in fact, did say over the phone "Henry should have done whatever you wanted for 2 hours and if it goes over, you get charged overtime!" 4-Anyone company that takes its sweet time to get back to you, no matter the circumstances, doesn't care about having your business or pleasing their customers. 5-No WHERE in our contract does it say we MUST contact dispatch if something wrong occurs. IT IS NOT the clients/customers obligation to make sure someone does their job correctly! END OF STORY. read more
