Wow, wow and WOW! I was so impressed with my experience in 2025, that I HAD to return. From the moment you enter the restaurant, your perfect experience begins. From check in, to the 8-course meal, and the sweet ending, I was on cloud nine. EVER is a standard for all restaurants, and I recommend this restaurant to any, and everyone, visiting Chicago.

A gorgeous restaurant with amazing service that really makes you feel special. The decor is unique and beautiful, and a truly joyous restaurant to be in. Presentation of dishes was lovely and food was very well prepared. Where it lacks a bit is in the tastiness of all the dishes.. there were a few highlights but generally the flavors lacked the wow factor that the presentation had. It was also very light on meat/ seafood which made it feel very sudden when they were bringing out the last savory course. We did love the final dessert take-home, which was whimsical and fun. Overall a good experience but for food, prefer many others.

Fantastic spot by Curtis Duffy. Expensive, of course, but sadly very much in line with prix fixe cuisine lately, especially Michelin-starred. Dinner was 7 or 8 courses, paced very nicely around 3 hours, and it ended with a stop in their own candy shop where you are given a bag to fill with as much candy as you can fit. Duffy makes some of the most innovative and delicious food, and I'm glad I was able finally to get to go to EVER. Don't sleep on AFTER next door, ranked in the top 25 cocktail bars in the world. Also absolutely fantastic.

Extremely intentional experience through and through. Each dish was presented well, and had my taste buds dancing-- only falling short in "wow" factor which I had high hopes for. Wait staff was diligent and not overbearing. Ambience was something to behold. Overall enjoyed myself here.

A truly amazing experience. This restaurant is very much worthy of its Michelin stars, starting with its amazing decor - flowing lines, well spaced out tables and perfect lighting for a 9 course meal. There were a number of stand-outs in our meal. This included Curtis Duffy's signature king crab course, perfectly cooked A5 wagyu steak and a 3 exceptional desserts that were both amazing to look at but extremely tasty. The service was 5 stars all around. The sommelier made excellent wine pairings with our meal and our captain spoke to us by first name and made us feel welcome. The final tour through the kitchen was the perfect finale.

We had a really nice experience. We went early on a weekday for my husband's birthday so it was not crowded yet. It was very quiet. It is a beautiful space and the service was excellent. Although I did feel like I was being watched the whole time...because I was. Just all a part of the impeccable service. I would just love to see a drink menu. I ended up having a cocktail I didn't want. But the wine was very nice and from our conversation knew what I would enjoy. The meal: holy mint, Batman. So much mint throughout the menu. It was definitely tasty and added to most of the dishes, it Just felt like a meal of mint. So this was a 9 course meal. The very first course was an Avery flavorful bite with the perfect amount of saltiness from the caviar on top. One of my favorites. My husband doesn't eat seafood generally, but always tries it when we do course dinners, of course. I always hope he will be blown away by the seafood dishes so he will learn to love them. He did for most of them but sadly, the king crab dish was a disappointment. It was absolutely beautiful with a sweet Tuile. And the tuile while fun and pretty, quite honestly, made the dish nearly inedible. It was so sweet...with king crab. No. I would never want to eat that again. Thankfully it went back to delicious after that. Sablefish. My husband even loved it. It was light and delicate, but also so flavorful. The beef cheap was amazing. Loved the skeleton butter and bread. My husband's favorite dish was the A5 wagyu. It melted in your mouth. We will take 10 of those please. Desserts were, as you can imagine, minty, but enjoyable. Overall, we were pleased. It was a nice and cool experience. Loved walking out through the kitchen. And they were sweet enough to give us a happy birthday menu.

The most beautiful interior of a restaurant I have ever seen. WOW. I want my house to look like this one day. The service was perfect, staff were friendly and helpful, and the food was pure art. So many crafty pairings of ingredients and tastes into each course that it felt like a science experiment, one that would've gotten you an A+ in school. Was truly impressed with how beautiful each course was and how all of the complimenting notes on each dish worked together so well. You can easily tell that a lot of work and preparation went into preparing this menu. Hats off to Ever!

I went to Ever Restaurant with high hopes and expectations given its two Michelin stars. The service and presentation were polished, however the food did not meet that same level, and my expectations were quickly let down. In addition to a relatively underwhelming wine list, I was seated at a table right by the kitchen entrance, which was distracting, loud, and filled with constant movement. For a restaurant at this level, I expected a quieter, more intentional atmosphere--especially when there were open tables in calmer areas of the dining room. The overall dining experience also felt rushed. The meal lasted under an hour and a half, which was surprising for a tasting menu of this caliber. Having dined at other Michelin-starred restaurants, I've come to expect a more extended, paced experience that allows you to fully settle in and enjoy each course. The menu started off very citrus-heavy, then abruptly shifted to a coconut milk-based dish that felt noticeably heavier. The progression lacked cohesion, and there was no clear theme tying the courses together. Many of the dishes relied on puréed components, which became repetitive and, at times, off-putting. There was also very little protein throughout the meal--aside from the final savory course. That course, a chicken breast, was particularly disappointing. The remaining parts of the chicken were puréed and placed under the skin, resulting in a dark, spongy texture that was unappealing both visually and texturally. Desserts were similarly underwhelming, with none standing out in flavor or execution. There was also a recurring use of rice puffs across multiple dishes, which became redundant. For the price point, I expected stronger flavors, better balance, and more variety in both ingredients and execution. Overall, it felt like there was a lot of technical intention, but the flavors didn't come together in a memorable way. At times, the ingredient choices and overall composition gave the impression that cost-conscious decisions may have taken priority over delivering a truly exceptional dining experience.

We had such a great time celebrating our wedding anniversary! The attention to detail is impeccable and the food was outstanding. The portions are perfect for the amount of dishes on the tasting menu, you will be full at the end. The service was good and the ambiance is quiet/romantic.

This has been on my list for quite sometime, long before they were featured on the Bear TV show. This was my first time trying food from Chef Curtis Duffy. The experience did not disappoint. I know people like to make up stuff like they've dined at Michelin restaurants from all over the world, yet they don't have the reviews or pictures from those. My reviews and pictures are accessible to anyone. Ever has definitely hit all of the right notes. Each course continually got better. It's located in the West Loop next to After. It's about an 11 min walk from Timeout Market. I believe they have free parking nearby, just double check the signs. Careful when driving in the West Loop, they have hidden cameras that give you speeding tickets. Service when you first walk in to when you walk out has been phenomenal. They take your jackets or coats at the entrance. The interior designs are very luxurious compared to other ones I've been to. They have gooseberries that are hanging, that you can pull down and eat. You also get a complimentary drink before you get to your table. The chairs are very comfortable during the 2 hour experience. Restrooms are individual gender neutral rooms. We also received a tour in the kitchen. I didn't take any pictures since the staff was working. It feels odd since people don't take pictures of me working. lol. I did include a copy of the menu. I don't want to be repetitive since other reviewers have already described the same courses. You get a good amount of savory and sweet courses. Nothing was ever too sweet or too salty. Flavor combinations worked well together. At the end of the meal, you'll feel content. You won't be starving or overly bloated. Price point is about $325 pp with no wine or non alcoholic pairing. Gratuity is automatically included like other Michelin's. Highly recommended if you want to treat yourself or your loved one.

Not a surprise that this place gets five stars from me. Not only is the food outstanding, but I might have had the best service I've ever had in a restaurant. The Bear was wise to choose this place to base Richie's dive into service because this is the place! The food was numerous and hard to describe in this form, especially since it changes so often. Check out my pictures for more. The only downside was this place was much more expensive than it appears at first look. Not a problem with that really, but the whole experience ended up being more expensive than expected. The wine pairings, while great, was overpriced. This is kind of a once in a lifetime restaurant experience so I would recommend going if you want the whole fine dining experience. I liked it better than Alinea and that's saying something!

Everything was perfect. This is a late review as I was here several months ago. We were very happy with everything including the service, food, ambiance, and the kitchen walkthrough at the end was a nice touch. Highly recommended.

Ever has achieved something extremely impressive in the restaurant world: the perfect balance between traditional/classic fine dining experience and the new-age, dining-as-experiential approach. Think French Laundry-caliber service, taste and execution with the right amount of Alinea-like whimsy. The nine-course menu did not miss. Every dish was excellent in flavor and concept. Some dishes, like the king salmon dish, that required diners to break the sugar "glass" disc, allowing the "floating" ingredients to mix into the cucumber water with crab, felt like a touch of molecular gastronomy and experiencing the dish but without any compromise on taste. The playfulness and interaction never felt solely for show. And it never detracted from the taste. The staff's attention to detail in service reminded me of French Laundry, but in a slightly less classic, more modern vibe. The wine pairing complemented each dish nicely. Our table had signature and cellar, and think signature worked just fine. Ever is great for a special occasion where you want to create memories with loved ones and have perhaps the best meal of your life.

Since its a 2 Michelin Star restaurant I would suggest cocktail or business attire, however I don't recall them having a formal "dress code"

Do you tip or is it included?

A 20% service charge is added on to ensure they can provide a living wage for all staff, but gratuity in addition to this is at your discretion.

Hi how much is the wine pairing? Had a reservation and wanted to get an idea. TIA!

We ordered a flight of whiskey sours, which contained whiskeys from Japan, Vietnam, and Wisconsin. I also was able to order an amaretto sour, which they made with freshly hand beaten egg whites, which was a nice cherry on the top. As far as the whiskey flights go, I think the best one was the Vietnam flight because it had a slightly lemongrass twang and was a little bit lighter than the other two. The heaviest one was the Wisconsin which came with a little bit of a bite at the end, but it still wasn't bad if you're trying to blackout on a $15 budget. I would definitely come back with a larger group this seems like a great place, but is a little bit loud- so if you be prepared to yell or wear earplugs. The bathroom took my a second to find, which should have been intuitive considering it was on the opposite end of where you come in. I blame the lighting as things are already pretty hard to find in the dark, but eventually I made it there-Pat myself on the back.

Recently, my husband and I celebrated the anniversary of the day we met. We don't always mark the…read moreoccasion, but this year it was a milestone worth celebrating. We chose to dine at Girl & the Goat in Chicago, a restaurant we had never visited before. The acclaimed restaurant by renowned chef Stephanie Izard truly lived up to its stellar reputation! One of the first things we appreciated was the convenience of the restaurant's valet parking, located right by the front patio. At $22 for up to four hours and $26 for four to eight hours, the rates were quite reasonable for the area. As soon as the three of us stepped inside Girl & the Goat, we were warmly greeted by one of the two friendly hostesses, and were promptly led a comfortable four-top table with a banquette and two chairs along the wall. We felt fortunate to have one of the better tables in the dining room, as some of the others were positioned very close together. The nearby two-top tables, in particular, were quite small and placed only a short distance from ours. The restaurant's rustic-industrial décor is dark but trendy and stylish, the lively and vibrant vibe was warm and welcoming. However, I have to mention that it was really loud in the dining room, as guests seemed to be enjoying themselves and talked loudly.  It was hard to hear our server and the staff who delivered and explained the dishes to us.  Our server, Yazmin, was extremely friendly and attentive.  It was very sweet of her to wish us a happy anniversary both in the beginning  and at the end of the meal.  She also checked in on us several times during the evening.  Now, on to the food and drinks. I started with a glass of the NA Sparkling Rosé ($17), which was light, crisp, and quite refreshing. My husband ordered a glass of Le Colture Prosecco ($18), while our daughter chose the Sun Kid ($18). She enjoyed her drink, although she felt the portion was a bit small, as the glass was filled with a lot of ice that took up much of the space. Since the restaurant offers small to medium plates which are shareable, Yazmin advised us to get 5 to 6 dishes for 3 people to share.  We decided to get 5 savory dishes and 3 desserts to share: Savory dishes: Chickpea Fritters ($20), goat yogurt, green chutney, sev spice crunch, pickled rhubarb. Pan Roasted Halibut ($37), miso-Marcona almond butter, spring onion blueberry nuoc cham. Roasted Pig Face ($28), sunny side egg, tamarind, cilantro, red wine-maple, potato stix. Goat Empanadas ($24), smoked tomato-corn salsa, roasted poblano crema queso fresco. Confit Goat Belly ($38), strawberry goat braise, smoked yogurt drizzle, pickled strawberries. Desserts: Vacation, Please! ($16), toasted coconut crunch, lemon passion fruit sorbet, rum-soaked pineapple cake. Berry Yummy Par-tea ($16), earl grey soaked sponge cake, yuzu curd, spiced blackberries. Chocolate Basil Brownie Bash ($16), olive oil semifreddo, chocolate fennel crunch, basil granita. The meal was just phenomenal!  All the savory dishes were cooked perfectly with bold flavors; the meats were tender and full of flavors.  There were dishes that we normally would not have ordered if we saw them on menus of other restaurants.  Here, we tried them and were delighted that we did!  Our consensus is that Roasted Pig Face is our most favorite! It is everything we love in a comfort dish -- crispy on the outside, meltingly tender inside, and packed with rich, balanced flavor.  We will definitely order this again!  The Confit Goat Belly is a close second, with buttery, fall-apart meat and just the right balance of richness, acidity, and crunch. For dessert, "Vacation, Please!" is the one that we will always come back for. The toasted coconut crunch adds texture, the lemon passion fruit sorbet brings a refreshing tang, and the rum-soaked pineapple cake ties it all together with just the right amount of sweetness.  The other two desserts that we ordered were also very good.  The staff even brought out a scoop of Chocolate Ice Cream on the house, with two lit candles to celebrate our anniversary - a thoughtful touch that made the evening even more memorable.  This dessert spread was the perfect ending to an incredible meal. I'd like to mention that the restaurant added a 4% surcharge to the bill, which the customer may request to have the surcharge remove if you choose.  We let them keep it. We spent about two hours at the restaurant.  The savory dishes came out very quickly, the pace probably was even a tad too fast, but the desserts made up for it by taking a longer time.  We did not mind as we were still full, and had time to enjoy the ambiance more.  I would say it is a restaurant great for group gathering and celebratory functions, but not so much for intimate romantic date night.  All in all, it was a wonderful dinner, we look forward to returning again.

The food came out pretty quick and was hot and ready to eat. All of our food was good well and we all enjoyed our dishes. My only takeaway would be if guests ordered bottled water and/or champagne, the waitress should poor them into the glasses for you. From my experience, this is something that I thought was a norm. Overall, great place to eat!
