I had Evergreen perform service in my home in Mukilteo, WA. The arborist Cade was very knowledgeable and he had his crew come out to prune overgrown Cedars. After the service was completed I had felt that the Cedars could be pruned more and I had expressed my discontent to my Arborist. He happily came back out and had his crew perform rework to ensure that I was completely satisfied. This was great service by Cade and Johnny to ensure their clients are satisfied with the work. Never ever do business with this outfit. Had a solicitor come around and so I signed up for a consultation (due to Ever-Green Tree Care I've put in a firm policy to reject all solicitors). I joked with the guy who came around that his name should be spelled "Stihl" due to his business; after dealing with them I now realize that the name should be spelled "Steal." The project was $2600 with $260 down, paid on February 17th, put it on my card, huge mistake; if you deal with this outfit, never, ever, ever let the have access to your credit card info. They came 2 days later on the 19th, worked a day and then told me they were losing light. and charged the card another 1958.78 which I had never authorized. Told me they'd be back and then silence. I tried to find out when they'd be back and ended up with text message "Sorry about the credit card charge. Extremely disrespectful solicitor started taking to me while I was unloading my car. I said no thank you, I'm not interested about 5 times yet he kept trying to sell. My dog was barking like crazy, and this man decided to talk even louder. I continued to repeat I was not interested and said I'm busy (as I was still unloading my car this whole time). He finally stormed off shouting "Everybody loves a tree until it falls down on their house!" Cool, thanks for the scare tactics. They wasted a huge amount of my time and money. I showed them problems with my cherry trees, specifically showing them symptoms of what I now know is X-disease (Little Cherry Disease), and they completely mis-diagnosed the problem. They had me spend a bunch of money and time on copper sprays and soil drenches, when in fact, this particular disease is incurable. You would think that tree experts, and licensed Arborists, like Ever-Green could recognize a well known, easy to identify, disease like this. They did not come to work on my property they came to service a neighbor but used the front of my house to park and block mail boxes, cool wouldn't be an issue for service vehicles if he didn't see the sign and made a negative remark about it, cackling to his partner. Continued to speak negatively about the neighborhood and being disrespectful. I over heard there conversations through my window and decided to go see who it was and come to learn it's a tree service company. How do you expect a company to perform a good service if the attitude of the employees are rotten? Just reading these other reviews from people they tried to solicit or even did "work" for speaks volumes. The entrance to our neighborhood has two signs that say "NO SOLICITING ON THESE PREMISES" which by law is supposed to be respected. Chris W. from Ever-Green Tree Care Inc. doesn't believe these laws or requests apply to him, so he came door to door knocking and leaving flyers anyway. I would not and will not support a disrespectful and solicitous company like this, so I posted in our neighborhood chat group that I researched Ever-Green Tree Care Inc. and discovered them to be disreputable in every way, in addition to flouting the policy of our neighborhood and thus advised against calling them for tree service needs. Instead I offered them the name and number of a great tree service, King's Trees, which a dozen or so neighbors thanked me for and stated that they would be giving them a call based on my experience with them. Had Chris W. not disregarded our signs to solicit business then everyone in our neighborhood chat wouldn't have been given a strong referral to a competing business, which I guess is the moral of this story. We do not appreciate the unsolicited visits on our properties. We have declined services in the past. We have a dedicated tree service already and we are not about to change. Today they walked deep into one 5-acre property and left a business card not at the obvious front door but at a very private back door. This is totally inappropriate, snoopy and invasive (as many other reviewers point out, I add). I'd say it is nearly trespassing. Updated 3/18/26: Same salesman returned. He both knocked and rang my doorbell and didn't leave the front door when I didn't answer so finally I did go to talk with him. He was courteous and he listened to my complaints and constructive feedback but held to his position that it was not clear where the front door was on the neighboring property that I wrote about yesterday. My husband and I own both parcels. Things I cannot accept: 1) if I did not answer the door yesterday, why would you return to our remote island property (with 5 and 10 acre lots on a dead end road) the very next day at nearly the exact same time of day? I was home but chose not to answer then. If I were working from home taking a meeting, I would be upset by the repeat knocking and ringing of the doorbell without leaving. 2) If you left your business card yesterday and I did NOT call to request your services, why are you back at my door within only 24 hours? That is too aggressive (not to mention we've ignored your flyers for years) and besides, this location is not convenient to you for that timeframe. 3) Why are you insisting that you can't tell where the front door is on a two-story house to which a very long driveway leads straight to the front door with house number? There is a tiny 400 square foot rental cabin behind the house which cannot possibly be mistaken for the main house, and cannot even be viewed from the driveway unless you are standing at our front door! Still, you walked through landscaping barriers / fence to a cottage path to get to our back door BBQ deck to leave your card. You admitted to this, to your credit, and apologized, but continued to say you could not tell. That answer is just not plausible. We discussed that nobody wants uninvited solicitors at their door this day and age, that venturing that deep into someone's secluded, heavily treed property feels like casing the house, and that it may not even be safe for him. He said they had prior business contact with the house I'm speaking of next-door and I said yes I was there that day. We were having a private bonfire picnic and we tolerated but could not get rid of that salesman either. I pointed today to all of the unfavorable reviews about their business over this exact practice and suggested they cease immediately. Only time will tell whether future customers are as deeply offended as we are but at present, I am of a consensus in a sea of similar reviews. Nick came by the other day claiming our neighbor was having 2 trees taken down on Friday and was offering to have the arborist stop by for free because he would already be in the neighborhood. #1: every arborist consult we've had has been free over the many years, so I knew we weren't really getting a "value" per say ... but sure, it's about time to have the trees looked at again. Flash forward: after he left, we texted our neighbor - the one "having 2 trees taken down on Friday" because we have a tree felling guy who is great and very reasonably priced. Turns out, this neighbor was still waiting on an estimate. Nothing is scheduled. Fast forward: We're chatting with a different neighbor later in the week and he mentions it'll be a shame to lose that big Doug Fir on our property (1 of the 18!). This neighbor had been told that the tree was covered in white mold (absolutely isn't) and we were scheduled to have it felled (absolutely not). We still met with the arborist. Every single one of our trees is in good shape - no services needed. There is hope that there is honesty within the company. But tread carefully. read more

Horrible experience with this business. I had to apply for the permits myself as well as pay for the permitting which I ended up not even needing in the end. Communication was really bad. Very hard to get a hold of on the phone. The sales person became aggressive over the phone and very unfriendly over email. I did not call, email, snail mail, text or in any way request service from this business. Nonetheless, someone showed up at the door this morning (flier says Beth) and knocked on the door. I did not respond. Rang the doorbell. I did not respond. Knocked again. I did not respond. This is a private residence. Get the hell off the property and don't think you're justified in intruding on this family and leaving your flier for others to pick up and dispose of. In case the owner of this business doesn't realize it, there is a big uptick in bad actors in this community and most people aren't opening their doors to strangers. And a final thought: I don't know anyone, myself included, who has ordered goods or service from a stranger who trespassed, intruded and littered. This is not welcome. The arborist that came to talked to us was very rude and unprofessional. The salesman came knocking on the door the other day, and I mentioned to him that our fruit trees have worms inside and it'd be the only thing we'd worry about on our property if it's inexpensive to treat them. He said it'd be a few hundred dollars, so we scheduled this arborist to come and talk to us. The arborist showed up. On our way to the fruit trees, she started to talk me to about issues with my evergreens which I wasn't interested in just as I told them before. But I could understand where they come from, so I heard her out and let her quote it. But that came out to be way out of our budget. Then she found another tree that she thinks needed treatment, quoted again, I didn't show interest. She seemed to be a bit irritated at this point. We finally got to the fruit trees. She measured them and quoted, and mentioned they'd inject something into the trees which got me curious. I wanted to know how tree injections prevent maggots inside fruits. But she said no knowledge and that I needed to ask the technicians, while making it sound like I asked the wrong question. Later, I asked another question, not very clearly. Instead of asking me to repeat/explain, she went "WHAT?" shaking her head with a grimace like I said something that disgusted her. That rudeness turned me off and I told her I'd just talk to their technicians, and she responded "you don't talk to our technicians until you sign a contract" and turned away, walked through the yard without another word. I was baffled. But to remain courteous, I followed her through the yard and thanked her. She didn't turn her head or speak a word. I don't think I ever met anyone this unprofessional. It was a terrible experience I haven't had with anyone in a long while. The bid was high but we were in need of a large hedging job. Christopher treated us like idiots. His workers showed up, unannounced and started hedging dramatically. When I went out to talk to them they showed me a different contract than the one I signed. They did a terrible job and when I called Christopher said he couldn't do anything. Pruning and thinning of two trees was quoted and "done" in early June of 2025. When I reached out to explain that the work that was done was thinning and topping a few branches and that we couldn't really see any difference in our trees when they were done, they asked to see pictures. Great job - I called them up for a quote to trim four *huge* trees back from my house (branches were overhanging and almost touching my roof). They came over, gave a quote, I accepted and paid a deposit. A few days later a team came over to complete the work. The team seemed experienced, had all the appropriate equipment and did a great job. They went very high into the trees to deadwood them / remove breaks and then went very far up with their cutbacks. They left my decking/garden cleaner than it was when they started, and even blew existing debris off my roof while they were here. Cost wise, they were one of the more expensive quotes I got, but they seemed more experienced, pointed out storm breaks they would also remove (which nobody else quoting spotted), and overall the high quality of the work speaks for itself, so I'm happy. read more

We wanted to catch up on some tree care. A door-to-door person came by at the right time, so we scheduled an estimate. That went well, the salesman/estimator was very friendly and easy to work with. We schedule service for November. We got a call the next day to schedule it trying to get service done on Aug. I reminded them it would be November they said they would call back. That never happened, then someone showed up with no notification in November, and when my wife said we didn't have the visit scheduled. He started to argue we had a contract. Vs apologizing. Arguing with my wife after failing to schedule an appointment changed my opinion of the company. I was ready to cancel after but when they called the woman was so nice I reschedule for Jan. We had some unexpected expenses so I called on Jan 3rd early and left a message to delay or cancel. I let them know I realized I would lose my deposit if I canceled. A proper business process would be to call customers back and work out the best result for both. No one called back that day. But the next day we got a call reminding us they would be there on Friday. When I called back the number on my phone the callback number routs to a FAX machine noise, not the main number. [That is programmable in a phone system] So I called back at the number on the business card before 5 PM and got voice mail again. They never answer the phone. They only return the calls when they need to try to keep you on the hook. UPDATE: After I called again to cancel. I got direct to voice mail response, didn't ring the phone, it was a reminder AGAIN that we had a Friday. appointment scheduled. Like they never got the call earlier to cancel. I have called back told them again I am canceling. Not asking for my deposit back, and that if they set foot or tire on my property we will call the police. This was to try to make sure they understood I was serious. It ended up benefiting me one more way. UPDATE 1/7 Sure enough, the office and salespeople at Evergreen Tree Care managed to show disrespect to both the customers and their tree care staff, by sending the tree care people to our house after we left to clear messages that we were canceling. This means if you are a customer who needs care and didn't get it today, you were disrespected because they wasted time trying to push me into service with an in-person event. The person showed up without a mask but stood 35 feet from door, I will assume they would be masked if we needed to talk closer. When I told him we had canceled and he was to leave, he didn't argue, he apologized and left. But his face, in my opinion, showed this was not a surprise. Note the picture below. He is 20 feet from the garage, usually, people doing covid spacing stand just below this camera which puts them a respectful 15+ feet from the front door. Why stand there? This puts him just off our property on the street. I also checked the video and his truck was parked down the street vs pulling up into our large gravel parking area. Proof they heard the message my added message about not setting foot on the property was understood, so they also understood I was canceling the appointment. BUT IGNORED the request to cancel. Lets be clear, if the promised call to schedule in Nov vs suprise visit would have happened, we would have negotiated a new time. If service staff had not argued with my wife, that might have changed the impression. And if my call on Jan 3rd to reschedule or canceled had been returned vs pretending they didn't get them, I would likely still be scheduled. So they went through the gate, drove up to the house and left a flyer at our front door, all neatly captured on camera. Other companies leave their flyers at the gate which works fine for them and us but Ever-Green chose to ignore the clearly posted signs. That is concerning to me and shows a disregard for the (potential) customer. Please see the other reviews for similar experiences. The extent of work they did failed to meet our expectations, which we had discussed with their estimator. The crew was great, but inadequate time had been allotted for our job, so crew had to rush; also estimator had failed to let crew know our Portuguese laurel was a big tree, not a hedge. Work failed to include cable for another tree (had been discussed with estimator), and this had to be last minute add. Overall I did not feel it was an especially good value for $, with completed job not encompassing all that was discussed. Estimator is very polished, friendly, yet result failed to come up to expectations Also, I was a new customer, and found 10% discount voucher for new business. It arrived the day after I signed the estimate, and they refused to honor it. Lastly, be aware that Evergreen is just the marketing and sales arm for a group of arborist companies. So, first the good stuff. The consultant that came out was great, spent a lot of time with us (~ 2 hours) walking our yard and came up with a pretty reasonable bid to remove a dead hemlock, prune a couple of apple trees and trim a couple of low hanging branches for two specific trees. He seemed very knowledgeable and like he cared about trees. We were very excited to get the work done. The crew that came out were also friendly and professional (almost, see next paragraph). We did a walkthrough prior to any work starting and I pointed out the trees I wanted trimmed. I was very specific about two trees in our backyard in particular and stressed that I only wanted a couple of the lowest hanging branches trimmed. We wanted to maintain the shady nature of our backyard and have privacy from the oddball neighbor behind us. Then they got to work. I came out to the backyard about an hour later and couldn't believe my eyes. The two trees that I had wanted trimmed (expecting they would take down about 5 branches total) had been cleaned to about 30 feet up! Dozens of branches now gone! I now have a great view of the creepy neighbor's house, his ugly trees, and what seems like a barren landscape in the back of my yard. This has completely changed the look of our yard and not in a good way. I keep going over and over in my head what I could have said differently and I'm at a complete loss. The worst part is that looking at it you realize that the damage is done, there is nothing you can do. It will be years before we are able to recovery the privacy that we had. I think it was one of the less experienced workers that was maybe left unsupervised who did the hatchet job (pun intended). The team lead was very apologetic and we did get a discount on the work. And the other work that they did (removing the hemlock, pruning the apple trees) was great. But there is really no amount of money that can undo the damage. Even now I'm still livid. Advice to others....I'm not sure. I really thought I was explicit in what I said to cut down and what we discussed with the consultant. Honestly there seems to be a disconnect between the consulting, the bidding, the initial walkthrough and the actual cutting. I think the company needs to look into the procedures that they have in place to communicate work within the team once they are onsite. A person from Evergreen Tree Care walked past three "No Trespassing" signs and left their junk flyer at my front door. I'm frequently out of town--their junk flyer lying on my front porch is an invitation to thieves, letting them know that no one is home. Ignoring No Trespassing signs is illegal. This is the 2nd time Evergreen Tree Care did this. I called them last time to notify them to stay off my property, but they did it again. I would never hire them due to their apparent criminal behavior. Check the reviews from others, Evergreen Tree Care has ignored "No Trespassing" signs on a regular basis. It's interesting that the reviews of this business are so mixed. I'm not sure what went on with other's experiences, but I was very pleased with the service. Arborist Joe came out right on time and was very thorough and thoughtful in his evaluation of the trees on my property. He provided good information and showed a great deal of knowledge of trees. He did not even recommend anything be done to the trees at present, primarily just monitoring one tree for possible disease with a return visit if it does not clear up. I can't speak to the services provided by the crews, but the arborist was great and I would call them in the future. read more

Aside from this billing SNAFU I'll add that the actual work done was on-time, and didn't stray from the original quote. Staff was friendly and made certain that there was nothing unresolved before cleaning up. *** Original review below *** 1 Star for the compete failure in their billing department. Your staff assured us we would not be immediately charged outside of the deposit for 30 days. Generally I try to not attribute to malice that which could be explained by incompetence. Someone stopped by our house to see if we needed any tree help. I really appreciated that because calling someone was on my to-do list. Steve, "the tree guy", came out and identified two trees that were dead and dying. He was so educational! He had a ton of knowledge about the trees on our property and advocated for removing only the trees that really needed it, and while he could have tried upselling us on other services, he recognized the investment involved and didn't push other services that were unnecessary. Steve's honesty, integrity, and compassion really solidified our trust in Evergreen Tree Care. We then got the call the very next business day, and they happened to have an appointment that afternoon to remove the dead trees. I was relieved they could come out so quickly. The weather forecasted a windstorm two days later and the trees could very well have fallen on the house. The team worked well together and it was fascinating watching them take the trees down efficiently and with respect to my property. Fast-forward a week later, and ANOTHER tree on the opposite side of the property cracked and fell. The tree next to it (I think Steve said it was cohabitating) was in danger of falling on our property, potentially the house, or the shed. Additionally, the first tree that fell was hanging over our neighborhood road. I called Steve immediately, and even though it was his day off, he came from Tacoma to Sumner to check out what was going on. He got on the phone with the scheduling person and had a team out THAT DAY! The crew immediately took down the two trees, as well as a couple of others that were leaning over from the two trees that fell. The crew was courteous, kind, quick, and informational. When we first moved into our new house, a guy from this company stopped by our house unsolicited and pitched their service. I told him we didn't need any service and he wouldn't give up, becoming increasingly more aggressive to sell their services. I told him firmly but politely that we didn't need any services. Then after a few months, they started calling my number (not sure how they got my number) literally every two weeks. It got so annoying that I blocked the number, but somehow they still got through using a different number. I just got a voicemail from them again today saying I should call them for any tree care needs, which is now triggering me to write this review so people can avoid working with this company and teach them a lesson that this is not the right way to do business. There're plenty of other tree services companies that are a lot more professional and cordial to deal with. I contracted with this Co to have a large tree removed. After they assessed and gave me a quote, then wrote up the contract and gave me a date for removal of the tree. Then, on the day itself, they canceled and gave me a new date. Well, they did not show up then either. After i called them, they informed me that they canceled my contract because they were unable to do the job because of the powerlines and the roots going onto the waterlines. Yet when they issued the Contract they were aware of some powerlines. As far as the waterline that should not have been a concern because the tree was only to be cut back to a stump and not uprooted, so the waterline would not be affected at all. I am furious! Took months to get permits. Then same to schedule job.Changed dates 4 times. Rushed through the stump grinding and didn't get surface roots that I exposed more for them. Just covered them back up when grinding the stump instead of grinding them first. Cut my front fence and gate so they could get the big grinder in my back yard because the grinder had two more jobs after mine. Left my back yard like a dirt bike track. Price was also high. Avoid at all costs. I rarely give 1 star reviews but feel people need to be warned about this business. They came by knocking on my door offering a free consultation so I let them do a walkaround. They told me one of my tall cedars had the beginnings of a beetle infestation, was in a position that if it fell it would hit our house and needed $700 worth of treatment. Something felt a little off so I called a very respected arborist I had used in at our previous house. Excellent Customer and Loving Care for my Cypress and Japanese Maple I sought a company that loves trees as much as I did and found one in Ever-green Tree Care. They are not the least expensive, but you often get what you pay for these days. They are NOT butchers like some Tree services that masquerade as Arborists with chainsaws. Just received a cold call from this company. We have never had a 'business relationship' with this company, making the contact prohibited under the federal regulation that set up the 'do-not-call' lists. A business that cuts the first corner is not one I'd trust to honor any other corner of a contract for services. No thank you, ma'am.
