The location is nice, brand new facilities, and it seems to be very low volume at the moment as I've been about the only person in the waiting room for the cleaning and follow-up work I needed done. I have never complained about paying out of pocket. In my entire adult life, I was never charged this much for a routine cleaning, which was only partially done (no polishing)! I bought the Package ($315) they offer, which is supposed to include 2 cleanings (6 months apart) and x-rays and exam for the year. My appt for December 30th only included the x-rays, I was told I needed to come back for the cleaning, which was scheduled for January 5th. When I arrived at said time, but I wasn't on their books and had to come back the next day. I was charged an addition $210 for the cleaning after the hygienist told me this was included with my package, which they now claim was a "deep cleaning", but it was not any different from any routine cleaning I have had every 6 months my entire life. Now I'm scheduled to go back in February for the polishing which should have been done with the cleaning! Triangle Family Dentistry in Pittsboro is scamming people who do not have insurance. Probably scamming insurance companies also... We are paying for their designer waiting room and taking up the entire second floor of the building.

Not once was I told I was not in network or that I would have a $300+ bill for A CLEANING. I had zero work done but a cleaning and had a $300+ bill. I have a PPO insurance plan, but because they failed to tell me when I arrived that I was not in network, I did not have the chance to leave prior to my services. The manager explained to me that nobody is in network for them, but if that was the case, they still should have told me that. Instead, they said it was my responsibility to know. In the industry of customer service, a dental office should be putting their patients first and want them to feel as comfortable as possible with their care plan, and that was simply not the case at Meadowmont Dentistry. One should feel comfortable that their Doctor is doing the best for them, but clearly all they see is money and not retention. Their manager also has used words like "threatened" toward me and I am not sure in any medical office where that is considered acceptable behavior. Moral of the story, if you visit them, ensure they don't start work on you before knowing if you are in network or not, we now have paid the $300+ charge.

But who cares? The staff is friendly, there is a waiting room, the equipment is clean, the prices are honest, and Dr. Seaton is respectful and knows what she's doing. I recently went to another dentist because I had a coupon (Dr. Seaton's exam prices are the cheapest without a coupon or groupon), and after a quick exam was told I needed four cavities filled for around $1000. After collecting myself, I called Dr. Seaton's office to see how much the same procedures would be there. $200 less for the same thing!! So, I went to my appointment with Dr. Seaton prepared to get four cavities and shell out some cash, but Dr. Seaton felt that the other dentist's results were far too aggressive and diagnosed me with only one cavity. In the end, she saved me $800, and I now have a filling in the one tooth that had a cavity. I feel taken care of as well as respected. Also, the staff was very friendly about the fact that I used a coupon elsewhere for my exam, cleaning, and x-rays. I didn't feel guilty at all, and that makes me feel like a valued patient.
