Milltown Family Dentistry is absolutely amazing!! Seriously. I chose this office because of their positive reviews, convenient location, and finance options. They offer new patient specials as well as affordable package options. The office is beautiful. I mean I know it's fairly new, but that place is super clean, super modern, super chic, and super welcoming. The office looks about as nice as I expect my teeth to when I leave. They even have a cute little waiting playroom for the kiddos. Every single person encountered during my visit was very nice and welcoming...even at 7 o'clock in the morning! I think my hygienist, Bri just might be the most pleasant person I have ever met. She and Megumi made me very comfortable and did a great job of explaining everything to me. I actually look forward to my next visit...and I hate going to the dentist. Speaking of comfort, let's talk Netflix. I had read reviews prior to going that said patients could watch Netflix in the office. While sitting in the waiting room, I noticed the TV on the wall with Netflix already queued up. Cool, you can watch while you wait. Then when I went back into the examination room and there was another TV with Netflix queued up on the wall in front of the chair. Cool, you can watch Netflix in the exam room also. When we were starting the exam, I had to lay back per usual. Welp, there goes my Netflix, right?...WRONG!! I layed back and there was a TV on the ceiling! Y'all, this office is already in 3017. They were already winners in my book, but being able to watch Ace Ventura throughout my entire cleaning was definitely icing on the cake. read more

I've always been scared of the dentist - like, legit panic attacks. Milltown makes that fear disappear. Drs. Megumi and Ben collaborate on patient's care to ensure you're well-taken care of and held to the upmost standard of care on every visit, even routine cleanings. I've had bad issues with my teeth my whole life, losing fillings on weekends and during the COVID-19 pandemic - no matter what, they've been there for me, on the weekends, early mornings, you name it. I never thought I'd say this, but the possibility of losing access to these guys and their practice are literally one of the reasons I second-guess moving to a new area. You can tell Megumi and Ben train their staff well, and treat them right - all of the staff at Milltown are top-notch, and care deeply about their patients. Seriously, A+, 12/10 service. Let's face it, the dentist's office is few people's idea of a good time...BUT we must go.... every 6 months at least. I had a dental emergency and I tried this office because of the location and yelp reviews and they did not disappoint. After my initial visits for that issue I did go ahead and schedule a cleaning. The hygienist was very thorough and everyone was extremely sweet. Also to no surprise they all have really nice teeth! Lol. Unfortunately, they did discover that I needed to have a cavity filled. Although I am an adult and understand what a cavity is they still took the time to explain in detail as well as preventative measures beyond just brushing and flossing. Dental work can be pricey even with insurance and they were understanding of me needing to postpone my next visit. I did initially feel as though she was being a little pushy but she clarified that they just wanted to get me in as soon as possible to stop the "active decay". I did come back of course to get the cavity filled (shots suck) Dr. Ben (first name) was gentle and they made sure I was completely numb before starting the process. They also put on the show of my request on Netflix to watch (tv on the ceiling? why yes, yes it is). Dr. Ben personally called me the day after all my visits (not cleaning) to see how things were going. Like seriously??? It doesn't get much more personal than that. He's even answered the office phone before when I've called. I did end up having some sensitivity later on that tooth and I called and they got me in right away. Basically everyone here is a ray of sunshine. They are so professional and friendly. The office is beautiful and modern and the kids area is a plus. I enjoy the waiting room but many times I've come in I just went straight to the back. This place is amazing, I can't think of any reason to NOT come here. read more

This is a beautiful, state-of-the-art office, and I'm pretty sure my teeth have never been more gently or thoroughly cleaned, thanks to Dana. I am a HUGE baby (due to a traumatic experience by a corrupt dentist on the Upper East Side of NYC, when I first landed there--) and have never been the same since...However, the folks at Milltown were kind and understanding with all my "fear quirks" and also helped me to feel welcome, as I've recently moved from Brooklyn. Change is hard, but Steve (at the front desk) was awesome in making sure that my new insurance would be accepted, and Dr. Ben is really calm and kind. I am grateful for the professional and conscientious care here, and know that my smile is in good hands. ;) Thank you, Yelpers, for guiding me to find my new "dental home"! Wonderful, kind conservative dentist. The last dentist I went to said I needed 4 fillings and my wisdom teeth removed. Dr. Megumi's conservative assessment recommended 0 procedures at the time, just a couple areas we need to watch. She was kind, conscientious, and kept me informed about all the tests and procedures they were doing. The waiting room was beautiful and stylish. My appointment did take longer than expected, but only because my examination and cleaning were the most thorough I've ever had. I mentioned that I had sensitive teeth and so they made sure I was numbed up during my cleaning. I am new to the area and had my first visit there 2 weeks ago. I had a terrible experience with this practice when I went for a follow-up 2 weeks later. I like the dentist (Ben) and hygenist who worked on me very much. Friendly, efficient, thorough, etc. No qualms with the care. The problem was, I received a text the day before my follow up that prompted me to fill out ALL of the patient information that I had filled out before--as if I were a new patient--emergency contact, all insurance info, etc. I called the practice to ask if this was really necessary, since I had already filled all of this same information out only 2 weeks ago, and they should have it on file. The office manager said "YES, you will need to fill all of that information out each time you come because of Covid". I said, incredulously, "why?" Further, I said "That makes no sense. While I am happy to answer any questions regarding Covid, as we are in a pandemic, and I am all in favor of providing that information to keep everyone safe; why do I have to re-input all of my insurance card numbers, emergency contacts, etc. each time?" I was told "Policy. This practice has decided that they are going to require ALL patients to provide ALL of this information for every visit regardless of how recently they may have filled it out." When I told the dentist of this, he said that was NOT the policy, and that they just needed Covid info. I explained that is NOT what I was told. Upon leaving, the dentist handed me an insulting letter saying it would be better if I sought my dental care elsewhere. This is AFTER I shared with the office person and the dentist that I had a brain injury that made filling out forms very difficult for me. There was no apology. No attempt to rectify the situation. Just, get out and don't come back. Don't worry, I won't. read more

Just about as good as it gets. From the warmth of their office manager to the comfortableness of the waiting area to everything back in the dentist chair. Their hygienist, Bri, was friendly, meticulous and thorough! I like to take good care of my teeth and gums, and it was refreshing to see a hygienist that takes great pride in her work. We discussed my teeth and gum history as well as concerns I might have for the future. Dr. Megumi was no less. She was kind and professional and took the time to discuss a particular issue and give me options and was completely on board with the option I chose. Terrific experience with teeth cleaning and dental health checkup. The entire visit was under 90 minutes, which included the brief paperwork, new x-rays, complete oral evaluation, teeth cleaning & polishing, dental health consultation, and a fluoride treatment. I got Brie as my dental hygienist, she recently moved from Massachusetts and is very talented in doing a thorough job while keeping the patient comfortable. Dr. Ben was knowledgable and helpful. The facilities are well designed - I appreciated the contemporary music playlist and the nature documentary (like Planet Earth) they put on during the cleaning. They really care about their patients. I had a tooth ache and even though they were closed Dr. Ben called in an antibiotic prescription for me that day. Then Dr. Megumi fit me into their already booked schedule in the next couple days so I did not have to suffer through the weekend. I had recurring visits because of my problem tooth and they worked around their and my busy schedule every step of the way. First appointment today for a filling at this light-filled and airy office. Dr. Megumi, whose husband Ben is her partner in the business, is very efficient while being incredibly kind and caring. She explained exactly what she was doing throughout and suggested a few options for future care of this particular tooth. No sales pitch, which was so refreshing after my last experience with a different local dentist. Very fair charges for services. I arrived in North Carolina from Idaho with severe dental pain. Not knowing anyone in the area, I had to take my chances on a dentist listed in my Preferred Provider List with good reviews on Yelp. Not exactly how I usually chose my providers! They were able to get me in the same day. The office is lovely, but more importantly the staff were all friendly and professional. I appreciated Dr. Ben's caring, professional attitude and was amazed when he was able to schedule me with an endodontist the same afternoon. This was my first visit to Milltown Family Dentistry and I'm so glad I found this office! Steve at the front desk was very friendly and accommodating when making my appointment and I got a follow up e-mail confirming my appointment the day before my appointment. The waiting room was clean and stylish and, best of all, it had a coffee bar! Most importantly however, the dental staff were amazing! Everyone was very attentive, gentle, friendly and thorough. I generally hate getting my teeth cleaned (the scraping gives me goosebumps!) but the hygienist was very gentle and told me what she was doing each step along the way. The doctor, Ben, introduced himself using his first name and was very easy to talk to. He assured me about my dental concerns and recommended no follow up appointments besides my next 6 month follow up. I had an outstanding experience with Milltown Family Dentistry. They fit me in on extremely short notice to repair a filling when my previous dentist couldn't see me for days. The office was modern, sleek, and clean (and the waiting room has amazing coffee!). Everyone, from the receptionist to the dental technicians to the doctor, was extremely friendly and helpful. Perhaps the best part was the communication - prior to the procedure, the staff let me know the costs and what to expect, and during the procedure the doctor explained every step of what he was doing. Their new office in downtown Carrboro is modern and clean and the team is wonderful. They got me through new patient paperwork, caught up on X-Rays, a gum health check and a cleaning in just about an hour. Great staff, beautiful office, easy to find, excellent parking. They have affordable plans that make state-of-the-art dental care easier to fit in the family budget, even if you don't have insurance. My kids have been going to a pediatric dentist, but I'll probably switch to take advantage of significantly better pricing at Milltown Family Dentistry. Dr. Lambeth took plenty of time with me, took great care of my teeth, gave me a referral for an issue I'm having which is beyond what they do in their practice, and answered all my questions in a patient and friendly way. He took the time to get to know me personally, which can be tough to find. I'm not an anxious dental patient, but hygienist Lindsay made sure to check in multiple times about my comfort, and offered several times to let me watch Netflix to take my mind off what was happening, in case I needed distraction. I didn't- it was as good as a dental visit can be! I highly recommend this practice. I'm sending my husband next week! read more
