Normally, I do not open my door when people ignore my Do Not Trespass signs, but I endured the sales pitch from 2 Everbright Solar salesmen, mostly because I was curious about how solar worked. The ads shown on TV, and the Everbright salesmen paint a promising future with substantial savings using solar. I was offered the promise that my new and permanent electric bill would be 10% over my current average billing (which they conveniently had available), AND this would be contracted to stay the same for 25 years while the cost of electricity would continue to go up. When their sales pitch was over, I was left with new knowledge, I did more research, and came to the following conclusions: 1: Solar appears to be little more than an attempt for you to change electric companies with a promise of future savings. 2: When the solar panels generate electricity, where does go? It cannot be sent back through the incoming power line (there is a short circuit danger). How does it get credited and why does the homeowner not get the credit for the solar generated power? After all, it's an eyesore on your roof. I never got an answer to that question. 4: When you lose power from the new electric company, there is no power available from the solar panels. If the panels would power the home, even minimally in the event of a power failure, I would have it now. 5: The solar panels themselves don't seem to do much more than protect the shingles from sun and weather. 6: A monthly insurance policy would be needed to cover weather damage to the panels themselves. There go your promised savings. 7: What was not mentioned is that solar panels need cleaning twice per year to operate efficiently. How are you going to do this? Hire someone? Nope absolutely not! We signed up with a locked in rate (no increases for 25 years). When we signed up, we were told by the salesman that if our roof was going bad they would come back and remove the panels at no cost because it was a lease. This was a flat out lie - we're about to be charged $5000-15000 to remove them so we can have our roof repaired and they've been installed for only a year!!! They knew this would come up because I told them that we had a 25-year roof and it was already 24 years so we were getting close to replacement. False advertising!! Companies like this are around so that way people are so angry at solar that oil and gas companies can keep us stuck in an environmental disaster. They are like a false flag attack on green energy options. I hope the people responsible for this company end up in jail. Absolutely deserve it. read more

I have an Everbright Solar system on my house. DO NOT buy from them. The system is an utter failure and a total con job. My system has been broken for months. All calls to them end up in a complete run around and empty promises. The system is over priced by a factor of at least 2. They continue to charge me the monthly fee even though the 1/2 the system is inoperable. Their help line is complete do-loop leading you know where but frustrated. STAY AWAY read more

I've had two separate transactions impacted by EverBright's processes. First escrow (seller: Janice): The deal almost fell through because EverBright insisted on recording directly with the county rather than providing the UCC‑1 release to escrow for concurrent recording at COE. Escrow was ready to close, the transfer documents were fully executed, but we could not obtain a timely release. Only after escalating to EverBright/Nextera leadership did the UCC‑1 removal finally get provided and the closing salvaged. Second escrow (COE 8/19/2025): EverBright issued its August bill on 8/8/2025 (before COE) and refused to finalize the buyer transfer until that bill was paid, added an NSF fee after a returned payment, and offered no proration even with a fully executed Assignment/Assumption and the recorded deed in hand. We were also told filings could be re‑recorded, risking a cloud on title post‑closing. Both files suffered from slow lien handling and a COE‑unfriendly workflow. Providing lien releases to escrow for same‑day recording at COE and aligning transfer/billing with closing timelines would prevent these issues. If you are having similar problems: I was stonewalled at every turn when trying to go through official channels. If you are experiencing the same issue, I was able to find the names and emails of the entire leadership team of both EverBright and their parent company, Nextera Energy. I had the worst experience with Everbright Solar, and I strongly urge anyone considering their services to think twice! Their customer service is absolutely terrible. The salesperson I dealt with acted like a complete con artist. He promised that I would have no PG&E bill, but here I am now, stuck with both a PG&E bill and a solar bill that is higher than what I was originally paying! It's incredibly frustrating to be misled like this, and I feel completely taken advantage of. I expected a smooth transition to solar, but instead, I've ended up with more expenses and zero support from their team. This has been, hands down, my worst experience ever with a company. Last year we spent over $80,000 on the installation of a leased solar system to reduce our PG&E costs. It took almost a year for their engineers and installers to figure out how to do it. No Joke. Yesterday, PG&E shut down the power, and in full sunlight we had no power from the solar system. And now, between the lease payment that I paid to 'Neverbright, and the monthly bill from PG&E, I am not coming out ahead one single bit. Huge regrets. read more

My experience was AWFUL. If you want a company to assist you with the process of going solar Do Not sign with Everbright. They are HORRIBLE. The entire process was fraught with confusion. Incorrect design, failed inspection, unannounced work crews arriving at your door, work that is done and then undone, phone calls not returned, a new person needing to be briefed on all the failure each time you feel that the project has not been advanced, no answers to explain the constant delay. I truly wish I had never signed with Everbright. Finally, when all was completed, I filled out their customer satisfaction survey. I was asked if I wanted to SPEAK with a representative. I believe all these unsatisfied customers that were scammed may be looking into a class action law suit, I never got to see my contract, my wife and I were told our power company would now be everbright, that is bs they didn't tell me that solar only works 7 months out of the year. So you end up with a double bill, it's time for a class action lawsuit, they aren't able to keep up with there end of the deal. They can't supply the power needed in the winter. I was scammed by Everbright that is now claiming to be a financing service. I was told I would now only have one energy bill and this is not true. I was told the whole system would cost me a total of around 50k and ended up with 103k being editted and snuck into the contract and all under PG&E's watch. I am not forced to begin lawsuits against Everbright and PG&E because in California if you get solar panels, apparently you can no longer qualify for the debt forgiveness program. Not only was I scammed for a higher and extra bill that should not be had, but also no longer have a chance to remove this debt. DO NOT DO BUSINESS with them. They operate under the names Sun Run, Bright Ops, and VTAL Power (which was the scam name that scammed me). Please beware. read more

If I could leave this company half a star, it would still be too generous. Everbright sent surveyors out, approved the project, and then didn't even bother to show up for the first scheduled install. When they finally came back, they immediately started spiking into my brand-new composite siding and new roof, even violating my contract by placing brackets on the completely wrong section of the roof. After they caused the damage, they suddenly decided they "couldn't afford" to continue because my panel needed an upgrade and my garage needed structural supports. When I explained that the repairs had to be done by the original installers due to warranties and specific materials- and that I simply wanted my home restored to its original condition- Everbright refused and said they would "lay no claim" and just leave the materials where they sat. Then-unbelievably- they sent three of THEIR OWN contractors, all of whom confirmed exactly what the repairs would cost... and Everbright has still done nothing. No updates, no action, no progress whatsoever for an entire year. At this point, I genuinely look forward to the day this company inevitably goes bankrupt if this is how they regularly do business. This is, without exaggeration, the most unprofessional, irresponsible, accountability-dodging, customer-abandoning circus of a company I have ever dealt with. If you're thinking about working with Everbright, save yourself the headache, the damage, the money, and the stress. Pick literally anyone else. When I contact technical support, they are unable to solve anything. When I call Everbrite for help, they don't resolve the issue and just refer me back to the technicians--who, in my opinion, are not properly qualified to handle any technical problems. I signed a contract to have Bryton/Everbright install a new solar system with battery backup and an EV charger on my house in Oct. '24. As part of that package, they included upgrading the main panel, a sub panel, and undergrounding the power supply as well as installing an EV charger. They installed the panels and battery system in Nov. '24 and then the project stalled because they didn't apply for the correct contracted panel upgrade. They argued with me that my contract didn't include those items. I contracted my salesman, who would only communicate via text and told me they were included. I asked him to send me the copy of the contract which showed this inclusions. He never did. Luckily I found the paperwork and then had to argue for the correct thing since they didn't have the correct contract. I asked numerous times to be provided with the equipment specifications for the system and EV charger and was not provided anything until the end of August when I escalated the issue. In May '25, when they finally came to install the panel upgrades and trench for the underground in May, they were not prepared to dig and they took materials and tools from my garage without permission, damaged them and shrugged when I called them on it. They rented a machine to small for the trenching job and the operator did not have experience in trenching. They were hand digging in 7' deep holes with no safety measures in place and then they destroyed approximately 20' of retaining wall because they were not prepared to shore the existing site installations. They left on a Friday, a different, completely unprepared crew showed up on Monday, took more of my equipment, leaving it all in the open trench and then left before the end of the day. They did not secure the open trench, left garbage all over the area to blow around and ended up being gone for 5 wks with a 6' deep, 115' long, unsafe, open trench. They left an open trench against the power pole and were warned by the power company to refill it as we have high winds and wildfires, and that it would be their responsibility if that pole came down, but did not rectify the situation, placing not only my home but the entire community in danger with red flag warnings that month. In trying to get this solved, the company has dragged it's feet, and refuses to put anything in writing to replace the damaged property. Completely unprofessional. I have contacted them numerous times for resolution to my damaged property and only recently escalated it to a manager that worked with me for a week and now is refusing to make good on the promised items. They are disputing about $250 of reimbursement for a system that in the end will cost me about $120K. My profession is residential construction, I know what is acceptable and what is not. Their communication is horrendous. While the wiring and install of the system is fine, dealing with this company is has been infuriating, condescending, and without resolution and not one I would recommend to any homeowner. They refuse to put the reimbursements in writing and have not provided the method to replace the destroyed retaining wall. I told them I just wanted them to make it all right so that I could give them a good review, but this last pull of the rug has removed that option. Because of this behavior I'm not sure they will even honor the service agreement for this system in the future. Pretty upset about it all . It's 11 months since I signed this contract and it's still not complete and at this point I won't allow their employees on my site to complete the power switchover until I have all of the reimbursement agreed to and in writing. If I could give no stars I would. They outsourced for an electric company to put in a new breaker. Once the breaker was put in we began to experience power outages through out the home. Solar sent a crew out twice and let us know that it was an electrical issue most likely due to faulty mpu wiring. They refuse to give me the name or number of the electric company. My dad just recently received home oxygen for 24 hour use and the power supply completely went out on the hole backside of our home where is tank was plugged in. Everbright says it's not there problem. We have been waiting for almost 2 years for them to get this solar together and when they finally "completed " it it's faulty and is hazardous. And I am still paying pg&e as well as ever bright sending us a bill. This company is a nightmare to deal with not at all helpful especially with an aging parent . I regret this decision. And they left an uncovered trench in my front yard for months that I fell into and hurt myself pretty bad. read more

Another company installed the panels and everything went smoothly. Solar panel system works well. However, the problems started when the contract was turned over to Everbright and we wanted to sell our house. We were reassured at the beginning by the salesman that, if we sold the house, it was just a matter of transferring the contract to the new owners. So far, we have contacted EB 5 times to transfer the contract to a prospective buyer, we're told somone would contact us, and no on contacts us. We may lose this buyer solely because of EB's lack of response to get the deal done. If we had known this was going to happen, we never would have done business with them. read more

Not much to say as they are, in my opinion, very bad tomatoes. I talk to many solar companies and never signed on with any of them. This company's salesperson promised me things and I ended up with paying more now then when I did not have solar. Their customer service personnel can't seem to help me with any of my problems. For instance, when they installed the panels on my house they have 2 support bars hanging over my roof line. Makes my house look tack. But they said they could not fix them. They drilled 2 holes in my house siding and decided not to use them so I have two open holes looking at me every day. I was told their company would wash down my panels twice a year for free only to find out it would cost me 200 or 300 dollars for them to clean them. I feel like they took advantage of me knowing I was an old man whose brain wasn't operating too good. Oh well! I only have 25 years left to pay it off. read more

Last week EverBright declared my debt delinquent and referred it to a collection agency who threatened to reduced my credit score over one penny. my monthly payment is $476.01. Last month I overlooked the one penny and sent $476.00. in the past two weeks I have received TWO threatening phone calls wanting me to send in the penny immediately or my debt would referred for collection and my credit score would be reduced substantially. all of this over ONE PENNY !! This suggests a predatory company not interested in serving its customers fairly.. If I had it to do over I would choose another company to be involved with for so many years.. read more

There is no option for zero stars, so I guess I have to give them one star they don't deserve. As the executor of an estate I am trying to get simple payoff information as we move toward closing on the house. I submitted the death certificate and court documents seven weeks ago (that's right seven weeks) and the responsible department still has not processed the paperwork so I can get information on the payoff amount. I have called customer service six times and I am given the run around each time with assurances they will "escalate" my concern. "Escalating" is their way of getting you off the phone....there is no real escalation process. When I ask to speak to the responsible department directly I'm denied because, apparently, speaking to them is like penetrating the bowels of the CIA. The salesman will promise you a simple transfer process if you ever sell your home, but they are flat out lying to you. I work in real estate and have dealt with several different solar companies and solar finance companies and have never had a more difficult time during a transfer process. First off, it took weeks for them to send a simple credit app email to the buyers, after finally getting the buyers approved it took several more weeks for them to correctly send the buyers the assignment and assumption contract for signature, They had been sending it to the wrong email address and refused to give me proof of where they were sending it to. Communication is horrible/ nonexistent with this company. You cannot speak to a person in the transfer/finance department, you can only talk to a customer service rep who will put a message into their notes and then you will have to call back the next day to see what somebody responded in the system notes. They will not communicate with you thru email. If you thought you could have a standard 30 day escrow selling your home, don't hold your breath. I suppose if you and the buyers are in no hurry whatsoever and had no deadlines this wouldn't be a problem for you. read more

Our battery hasn't been working for months. It's at 54%. Our true bill was over $700 and now we're getting electric bills that are more with including our solar cost than we were paying before we ever had Solar. By far the worst company I've ever dealt with. The installation took months due to failure to keep appointments and doing things not approved by the local utility. Then the system worked for 1 month and stop producing solar power to my utility. I then got a normal bill from the utility AND a bill from Everbright. Everbright is telling me I have to pay it and it will get credited to me in 2 years when they trueup. In the meantime another two weeks of the next billing cycle has passed and the system still is not working and although I have a service request in nobody is letting me know when they will be out to fix it. Spoke with Albo (clearly not in the USA) and he was EXTREMELY RUDE. He would not let me talk to a supervisor. He refused to transfer me to the department to speak to in order to remove the battery from the home. My client swears she never signed ANYTHING. I have never contacted these people, nor have I requested an estimate: Today I got a spam call from someone named Rose (although caller ID stated Alice). This woman, somehow, knew my name and spoke so fast with a heavy accent saying something about my electric increase of 22% (which all I understood). I asked her several times to speak more slowly & clearly, which she refused to do. When I asked for someone with less of an accent, she said "Have a good day" and hung up on me. I looked up the phone number via reverse directory, but there was no available information. So, I called the number, and she answered: "Hello & used my name", when I asked her again, she said she was not from SCE, but a CA solar company & gave me the name. When I questioned her about spamming me, she denied it! Unrequested Solicitation via telephone IS SPAM..... I'll be reporting this company to the FCC! read more

First, their service with Citadel Roof & Solar sucked. Citadel brought the wrong solar roof anchors. The next time they showed up, they didn't bring the powerwall battery. The next time they showed up, they forgot the car charger. When the final inspection came, they didn't pass. Only on the second attempt, it was. All in all, I contacted my agent, David L. with Tesla Energy Solar, and I fell he's giving me the run around. Why did he gave me EverBright instead of Tesla?
