    I am extremely disappointed with Tesla Solar and regret choosing them for my solar panel installation. As of now, they haven't installed anything yet, because I'm still fighting with them over the shortfall in panels. I signed a contract for the installation of 23 panels with the promise of a 100% energy offset. However, Tesla is only offering 11 panels, which will only give me 58% offset. Had I known this beforehand, I would have never gone with them. Tesla asked me to hire a licensed structural engineer to confirm that my roof was suitable for installation. I hired one, and when the report came back, I was thrilled to find out that the roof was good to go for all 23 panels. The engineer did a thorough job with the calculations, and the report was official with a stamp, confirming that the installation could go forward with all 23 panels. Despite this, Tesla has yet to install anything, as I am still requesting all 23 panels as originally promised. They are only offering 11 panels, leaving my roof incomplete and failing to deliver the promised 100% energy offset. I've asked for a manager to contact me directly, but no one has reached out. I've also requested Tesla's engineering report and any calculations they used to determine the installation, but Tesla has not provided any of this information. All my attempts to get explanations and resolutions from Tesla have resulted in vague answers and delays. Their employees -- including project manager Robbie Sonson and advisor Destiny Fager -- have proven to be unprofessional and unresponsive. They've ignored my questions and provided no constructive solutions. I've spent money on the structural engineer's report and other costs, but I still haven't received any installation or proper service. Actions Taken So Far: I have opened cases with the Better Business Bureau (BBB), California State Licensing Board (CSLB), and Department of Consumer Affairs (DCA). Next Steps: If Tesla does not respond with a satisfactory solution, my next steps will be to escalate the complaint to the California Attorney General - Consumer Protection Division and potentially file a Small Claims Court complaint. My advice: Stay away from Tesla Solar. They don't honor their commitments, have terrible communication with customers, and take no responsibility for their mistakes. There are much better companies out there that will actually deliver on their promises.

    Telsa is the best company to go with if you need solar for your home. They are the best in pricing and quality. You can either buy the system out right or finance it. Many companies don't compare to Tesla Energy. The customer service was excellent, and the whole process was fairly quick. I was assigned a project advisor, Seth. and site surveyor, Anthony. Then, a team came out to do the installation of the Solar Panels and the Powerwall 3. Paul, Angel, and the Tesla Solar Team were AWESOME! They were professional and friendly. They explained every detail of the project and made sure I was completely happy with everything. I would definitely recommend Tesla Energy/Solar to all my friends and family. This is the only company to go with for all your solar needs THANK YOU!!!

    I have solar and was tired of still have power outages during the day, so I purchased 3 Tesla Powerwalls, after reviewing my choices. I decided on using OC Solar as the installer as they did a great job installing my solar a year before. I might have saved a few dollars by buying from Tesla direct and using a random installer picked by Tesla, but after owning 3 Tesla cars, I did not want that level of service at my home. Would I buy again, YES. I am very pleased with the power provided by the Powerwalls and the 95% savings on my power bill. I am on the NEM 2 billing plan with SCE that closed in 2023. I also got the federal 30% rebate. However. there are still some great benefits available, if you shop carefully.

Actually, we had started with Tesla (due to lower pricing) but their service just starting out was so difficult and inattentive, I called off the deal. Then I discovered Nabu. What impressed me was they are engineers, not sales people, and have their own local crews. They know their technical stuff in minute detail. They listened to me and what I wanted. No sales pressure. I got top of the line REC 430W panels and a Powerwall 3. Their process from design to installation was always professional and prompt. The only slow parts were waiting on PG&E to inspect, etc. Pricing was fair, though hardly inexpensive. Thus it's great when you have a rewarding experience and are very satisfied. We highly recommend Nabu Energy. SINCE THE INSTALL: We've enjoyed a HUGE savings on our PG&E bills because of Nabu. Many bills during Spring - Fall were $0 for electricity! The Powerwall app indicates when the battery is fully charged (around noon), so I can use the excess panel energy to charge my EV in the afternoon hours. It's exactly what we wanted. Thanks Nabu!

We needed to add panels because we purchase an EV and needed more solar to offset PG&E. The impeccable experience started with Art the consultant, he gave 4 scenarios and explained in detail what each means and provided detail report including all the tech details and break even timing. To be honest, it was too much for me, I really just wanted pricing and how long it takes to install haha but was good to know he has such knowledge and I was confident he is looking out for my best interest. Then we had Patrick the PM, arrived for site inspection on time and courteous and explained the whole process. Then come the impressive installation team Luis, Alberto and Kevin. The 3 arrived on time and with smiles, just overall a great vibe from them. Luis walked me through the installation plan and gave a few choices taking into consideration aesthetics of the house and then got to work. 4 hours later, clean line, fine craftsmanship and symmetrical matching placement from last system is in place and ready to tangle with PG&E (attaching some photos) I really really can't recommend any higher to go with Clean Solar on your solar projects. Btw I was going to bump this review to a 4 but working with Nick we decided on 5.** We had a complicated full house renovation this year and signed with Clean Solar for either the Tesla tiles or solar panels and we ended up choosing solar panels + Tesla power walls. I want to give special thanks (and the only reason why I didn't give a 0 star) and appreciation to the members listed as they deserved beyond 5 stars Bill, Nick, Jeremy, Rodger, Louis, Kevin, Albert, Alberto, Carl (CEO). Bill was amazing and helpful in explaining the process and helping us secure the initial funding. You are probably wondering why I am giving this solar company a 3 star. Well it takes 1 bad apple to ruin a team and this is the case. A three day project ended up taking 3+ weeks & we understand that the workload is extremely busy this time of year. However when 1 person is acting unprofessional, crossing the line, asking homeowners to borrow a usb cable to charge their cell phone, super loud, tries to impress (why), doesn't listen to clients (would walk away in mid conversation), act as if he is the owner of the company, talks way too much (not in a good way), talking about his side hustle business, a bit juvenile, not completing and complaining about the job in front of clients plus not showing up when he said he would to complete the job, leaving tools at the site and asking the homeowners to put it in their garage until he returns to pick it up, calls in sick last minute leaving the load to other team members plus more well then this becomes a problem and 0 stars (if possible) especially the amount of money you invest into this project. We also requested that this person not show up again but they kept sending him back. At the end of the project half of the Tesla walls were connected and working but the other half wasn't connecting. At one point our bedrooms electricity didn't work, it wasn't the breakers and Nick was awesome enough to take our after hours call and help us manually override those other 2 disconnected wall panels. The dream team (Nick, Kevin and Albert) resolved the connection and all is working now. Also, Nick stayed late to make sure our Tesla walls were configured and updated properly. Plus , a shout out to Jeremy for staying late as well to help fix a broken issue. Feedback: Organize a team that works well together to effectively complete the project. Provide sexual harassment training (this is excluding people listed here). If a female client doesn't feel comfortable with a person don't resend them back. Also if a homeowner (regardless of being the wife) calls and leaves a message please out of courtesy call back after all I am the client, work and pay the bills too (even though this is my husband's project).

The ads shown on TV, and the Everbright salesmen paint a promising future with substantial savings using solar. I was offered the promise that my new and permanent electric bill would be 10% over my current average billing (which they conveniently had available), AND this would be contracted to stay the same for 25 years while the cost of electricity would continue to go up. When their sales pitch was over, I was left with new knowledge, I did more research, and came to the following conclusions: 1: Solar appears to be little more than an attempt for you to change electric companies with a promise of future savings. 2: When the solar panels generate electricity, where does go? It cannot be sent back through the incoming power line (there is a short circuit danger). How does it get credited and why does the homeowner not get the credit for the solar generated power? After all, it's an eyesore on your roof. I never got an answer to that question. 4: When you lose power from the new electric company, there is no power available from the solar panels. If the panels would power the home, even minimally in the event of a power failure, I would have it now. 5: The solar panels themselves don't seem to do much more than protect the shingles from sun and weather. 6: A monthly insurance policy would be needed to cover weather damage to the panels themselves. There go your promised savings. 7: What was not mentioned is that solar panels need cleaning twice per year to operate efficiently. How are you going to do this? Hire someone? There go your promised savings. 7: If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Caveat Emptor

This was a flat out lie - we're about to be charged $5000-15000 to remove them so we can have our roof repaired and they've been installed for only a year!!! They knew this would come up because I told them that we had a 25-year roof and it was already 24 years so we were getting close to replacement. False advertising!! Companies like this are around so that way people are so angry at solar that oil and gas companies can keep us stuck in an environmental disaster. They are like a false flag attack on green energy options. I hope the people responsible for this company end up in jail. Absolutely deserve it.

    We have had an Enphase solar installation for 10 years now, which has always worked beautifully…read more However, due to regular PG&E outages in our area (Fremont, CA), we decided to add a backup battery to the system. After careful research, we chose Highlight Solar (HS) to handle this installation. We chose the Franklin battery, and Highlight Solar came out to handle the installation in Nov 2025. Sadly, we had some serious issues with the functionality of our solar infrastructure, after the Franklin equipment was installed... the Enphase solar monitoring device (called Envoy) started having trouble communicating with the panels, and therefore would disable them. HS made a couple of different attempts to fix this issue (which was delayed when they went on vacation for a month), so I had to keep cycling the breaker for the panels every morning to get the system working for another day. Fortunately, they were persistent in pursuing the issue, and after returning from vacation in late January, Samir came out and spent a couple of hours on the phone with Enphase support, who suggested a possible solution for this issue. HS then had someone come out to implement Enphase's suggestion, and now my system is working solidly and reliably (Feb 2026). I'm glad HS didn't just give up on us; I'm sure they were just as frustrated as we were by this situation. We certainly didn't expect this to take three months to resolve, but it is working now.

Ali, our salesman, remained patient and communicated thoroughly via email or phone, and at all hours even after we had signed the paperwork. The installation process was honestly better than the sales process. The combination of Chris (the foreman who found a solution for all our requests) and his team which worked in awful weather to get our project installed on schedule were amazing. Our inspection, and final handoff were handled by Samir, who answered even more questions, and made sure we were fully set up. From end to end we had a great experience with Highlight Solar and will recommend them as they were to us. Pro tips: If you get a battery you will need to store it until it is installed. Your solar data might not show up on the app for 24-48 hours after installation...don't panic, it will show up eventually and you will see the money you are not spending with PG&E.

The home insurance "fixed" the issue by installing a fan booster. It never worked even when they came back to recheck the booster. Juan came over and found the issue almost right away. The wiring from the AC unit was never connected to the fan boosters!!!! In 2 years we've have 4 other HVAC companies come and tell us we needed a whole new system, which would have cost us 20k. Juan was so great and honest. They've definitely earned our trust.

Others included David in sales who demystified the process, Varon who coordinated with the utility to ensure we met all requirements, and Gino, who collaborated with Maxwell Power (formerly HDM Renewable Finance), the clean-energy company that helped finance our residential system. On site, the design and install team did a great job keeping things simple. The entire system, including battery and thirteen panels, was installed according to Ramiros's expert design within just four hours. Good quality hardware was used to tie to the roof, which was inspected by our roofer and given a big thumbs up for not causing problems. But even before that, David our site survey tech, gave us the sense that all would proceed well, as he collected necessary data by drone, and made a favorable first impression with his personable approach. Toward the end of the multi-month process, which included time to get a new roof installed, we passed city inspection with YES tech, Dario, an extremely courteous young man, present to ensure we made it through that last step and PTO (permission to operate). YES has an excellent and well-deserved reputation because of these people and others who worked on our behalf. The company can do better automating some of the process, and to be fair, they say they are working on transitioning to a CRM software solution for this purpose. But, I can say that over a period of several months, I had excellent communication with many helpful people. Skyler in customer service was my primary contact and that made all the difference. My thanks to YES for helping us make this wonderful and complex project a reality. We love our new YES-backed system and look forward to working with the company again in the future.

    I can't say enough good things about Carlos Gomez from Sunlight Electri-Cal Solutions…read more I've been working on a non-standard solar setup using an EcoFlow Delta Pro Ultra X and EcoFlow Smart Home Panel 3, and finding a contractor who truly understood this type of system was incredibly difficult. I spoke with many contractors, and almost all of them sent salespeople who gave generic answers or tried to push cookie-cutter solutions that clearly didn't fit my setup. Carlos was completely different. From the moment he arrived, it was clear he wasn't a salesperson -- he's an engineer, and it shows. He took the time to deeply understand my system, reviewed actual spec sheets on the spot, and immediately identified issues that other contractors completely missed. Multiple companies told me Hyundai panels would work fine. Carlos checked the amperage limits, applied proper safety margin calculations, and clearly explained why those panels would not work with my EcoFlow system -- saving me from a costly mistake. He also walked me through: Proper panel selection within voltage and amperage limits Safe string configurations and series wiring How to maximize roof space while staying within code Permitting requirements I hadn't been told about before On top of that, Carlos identified critical code and safety requirements that no one else mentioned: Bollards required in the garage to protect battery units Correct battery placement to maintain required clearance from doors and entrances Heat detector requirements for battery installations in a garage These are all things that would have caused inspection failures later -- and Carlos caught them immediately. He spent well over an hour with me, climbed onto my roof to check for obstructions, inspected battery placement, reviewed wiring paths, and answered every question in detail without ever rushing me. What truly sealed the deal was how efficient and transparent the pricing process was. Carlos was able to turn around a detailed quote very quickly, and when I received it, I was honestly surprised -- it was a significant amount lower than every other quote I received, even though his evaluation was by far the most thorough. Given everything: His technical expertise The level of detail and care The ability to integrate with my existing system The fast turnaround And the much better pricing Choosing Sunlight Electri-Cal Solutions was a complete no-brainer. What I loved about Juan and his team is they are NOT sales people, they're real engineers who are focused on solving your problems and meeting your needs. Juan and his team are true solar experts and know exactly what they are doing - they were great at walking me through key details I should know about the system, how to best take advantage of having a solar system, and did their best to get me scheduled (in spite of multiple difficulties) for installation before the end of the year. Just for context, I've talked to another solar company where clearly they were just about trying to close the deal and sell sell sell, which really turned me off - it felt like they just wanted our money as opposed to wanting to understand what we really needed. Juan's team really shined here by just showing up to be real experts who are thoughtful about what system you need, as opposed to trying to close a deal. Juan and his team were also really patient and flexible. Our new home's solar system had to be turned on before we could start any work, and that process took months due to Sunnova going bankrupt. And, they were also really thoughtful when we mentioned we had added in some upgrades that would affect electricity use (ie saunas and outdoor electric heaters), and they reassessed their initial project and updated it to accommodate that. Then I just google searched & found this company with 5* rating and thought of giving it a try. What happened: When I called 'Pacific Edge Electric & Solar' it went into voice mail, but within 2 minutes I got a text message - " we will be calling you in 10 minutes". I was so surprised by their fast response as I tried connected with other companies as well and never got response from them. Adem from Pacific Edge called me in few minutes and he asked me what's the issue. I explained him & he assured me that he will stop by within few hours. Then a representative called me and took the details from me. It was very fast moving service & response from their end. Their services: Adem texted me the time frame when he will be coming. He came & inspect everything max within 15 minutes and found the issue. Fixed it. & he explained me the issue - why it happened & how it needs to be fixed. Also he charged a nominal fee. I was extremely happy with his prompt service starting from responding me. He considered it as priority work & made it done.

Customer service has been extremely frustrating, and a simple ownership transfer should not take this long. New homeowners should not have to spend months chasing a company just to update account information. Based on my experience, I would not recommend SolarEdge. If customer support is important to you, think carefully before choosing this company. This has been one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had.
