    Garlic chicken fried rice
    Kuniyasu M.

Clean interior and nearly arranged. Like the ambience. Service was good and attentative. Favourite was def the pakora. Fish was soft and really tasty. Nicely seasoned. The suey was not my taste but not to the fault of the restaurant. It's dry noodles and vegetables drenched in hot and sour sauce. Lil bit too sweet and saucy. The garlic rice is savory. You get to choose spice levels for everything.

We did a take out and ordered a medium spice for the food. We got chilli chicken fry, hot n sour soup and schezwan rice. They asked for 45 minutes which is fair for a Saturday night. However, my experience with the food was not that great, the soup was so spicy it could not be consumed, the rice was on the other extreme and absolutely bland. The saving grace was the chilli chicken. It is as expensive in terms of pricing as the next Hakka place, and there are so many which are so much better.

Anybody who is from India and missing Indo-Chinese food, they must visit this place. Food is yummy and brings back the memories from India. We ordered schezwan noodles, monchow soup, chicken lollipops and shrimp chilly and everything was good. Will be visiting this place whenever I make a trip to Toronto!

Indian-Chinese Food. Who would have thought that these two cultures would meet and create such delightful flavours. I've been running around various parts of the country and have tried the ubiquitous Chilli Chicken at every stop. I did notice that the ethnicity of the place really changes the expectations. On the Hill, Hakka places are run by Chinese and in Brampton and other areas, many are run by Indians. The flavours are different. The staff and cook at Everest are Indian background and one thing I know from previous experience is when they ask you how "hot" you want your food, you have to be careful. I'm usually adding hot sauce and peppers from restaurants on the Hill. I was ordering for a small project team. We will end up doing approx 20hours of straight work and after a so-so pizza lunch, we wanted something decent to keep us going into the wee hours. I ordered all the culprits - both dry and gravy chilli chicken, dry beef, some noodles, hot and sour soup...and others. I usually order the dry and gravy CC because I find that once you mix the two together, you get the perfect balance. Anyway...back to "how hot would you like it?" I said just normal, run of the mill, no one needs to get break out the Zantac level. I should have asked for the new-born taste bud level instead. My team had to drink lots of liquids to help get the food down. I can take the heat. I welcome the heat...BUT...if this is regular, than something got lost in the translation between regular and "break out the oven mitts and protective clothing!" When things are too spicy, it over powers the wonderful flavours of the food. The hot and sour soup was more HOT than needed to be. The Manchurian noodles were the spiciest of the bunch. I would try this place again, if I'm back on the lakeshore project. However, it's going to be mild + let me put in my own peppers going forward. Cheers.

Cute little Hakka restaurant in Etobicoke, It honestly reminded me of the style of the authentic Hakka Chinese food you get in India. A little on the expensive side, but the food was phenomenal

Mixed Fried Rice (Chicken, Egg and Shrimp)

Tried the House Special Chicken Hakka noodles, Chilli Chicken (both dry and gravy), Chicken Singapore Noodles and Mixed Fried Rice. Very flavourful, loads of chicken, egg and shrimp in the dishes, very quaint restaurant with great customer service and fair prices as well (the quantity could be slightly more but it is still good). Overall, this is a great restaurant in a great location (has great trails at walking distance on the lakeside to take a stroll while waiting for your order). Highly recommended. PS - the pics were taken after eating most of it

Small rice + spicy fried paneer in sauce

This place was DELICIOUS! We ordered the Cauliflower ?Gobi?, the fried paneer in spicy sauce and the fish pakoras. The Cauliflower was perfectly cooked and beautifully seasoned, the paneer had brispy dough on the outside with a spicy and flaourful sauce that went really well with the rice and the fish pakoras were hot and fresh with tender fish and perfect seasoning (and not overly battered like a lot of other places). Food was quick, but service was slow as there was only one man acting as host, server, and busboy. Even thought it's a little out of the way, I will DEFINITELY BE COMING BACK to try everything else they have to offer (and probably everything I ordered this time)!

This place was a real disappointment! I'm surprised this has a 4 rating! We ordered food for delivery for 5 adults. The portions were so small! The Hakka noodles would probably feed 2 people as well as the rice and chili chicken. When we called the restaurant they were not helpful at all! We paid $80 for all the food! Not worth it! All I got was sorry we can't do anything for you. No customer service! Unbelievably terrible food, portions and service.

Chilli chicken (dry), Schezuan shrimp fried rice

Tried Everest Hakka House for the first time, and I have to say we were very happy with it. One of the best chilli chicken I've had; was nice and moist. The spice level were great on their Schezuan fried rice as well. Ordered Manchurian chicken as well, however was not a great fan. Overall, we truly enjoyed the food, and the wait time were reasonable as well. Will definitely go back for the chilli chicken and fried rice when we are in the mood for Hakka food.

Our go to place for spicy Hakka food. Everything is good here. We almost always order the house special noodles. They have 3 levels of "hotness", mild, medium and hot. They have a lot of vegetarian options as well. This place gets busy during dinner time and the window table with the couch seats are comfy and have a great view overlooking the street. The servers are friendly and there's popular music playing at all times. In all this is a perfect little place for weekend spicy Hakka cravings!

The posters outside caught my eye, and I decided to come back with a group of three friends to try it out. We came a bit late around 8 PM, and most of the fish were already sold out except the original. We ended up ordering the Signature Spicy Grilled BBQ Fish ($40), a whole fish served bubbling hot with three toppings (potatoes, spam, and lotus root). You can choose between catfish and turbot, we chose the turbot fish. It looked extremely spicy, but the spice level was actually perfect. It was a bit on the oily side, but pairing it with rice balanced it out nicely. The fish was very tender and buttery, everything tasted amazing! We also ordered the Stir-Fried Egg with Tomato. The eggs were soft, the tomato sauce was rich. Not to mention the portion size was huge, we even had leftovers after eating until we were full. The restaurant itself was spacious, clean, and had plenty of seating. I think they were doing some sort of promotion so they gave us a $25 off coupon, though it expired pretty quickly so we didn't get to use it. I'd definitely come back for that grilled fish.

The menu feels creative while still being rooted in familiar tastes, which makes it appealing for both casual diners and people looking for something a bit different. The dishes are well presented and generally flavorful, with a nice balance between comfort food and more elevated execution. Some items stand out more than others, but overall there is a good variety worth exploring. The atmosphere is trendy and energetic, making it a good spot for a casual night out or a small group dinner. Service is attentive and the staff is helpful when it comes to recommendations.
