I have now eaten at Everest 6 times and every single time I have been blown away. I always seek out Indian restaurants when I travel and so I have many to compare to, and yet, somehow Everest here in Helena I think has won above them all. The flavor of their dishes are so rich and deep...and AUTHENTIC! For those of us who are vegetarians, the expansive veggie based menu is a delight. And I appreciate that we get to specify heat level. I love spicy food and the Hot Plus is perfection!!! My husband has loved every meat-based dish he's ordered, but he does wish there was an option to have more veggies added. Maybe something to consider. Their rice is perfectly fluffy and their cheese stuffed naan, oh my gosh, is just insane. Their food is beyond craveable. We were some of their first patrons and I have to say they keep making improvements. They've upgraded some of their furniture and menus and their hospitality has become much warmer. I took my mom from Dillon up to Helena to do some shopping and we decided to try out Everest Indian kitchen. The combination biryani was very good though a bit spicy. The chili Momos were different in that I didn't expect it to be a sweet and spicy sauce, but it went well with the Momos, and was one of the favorite dishes for everyone. The chicken tikka masala was pretty good though I did find it a touch sweet and it needed a little bit more kick to it. All that being said, I would definitely return here again when I return to Montana. read more

Overpriced and below average food. Service is good but the food is not. They put coconut in malai kofta which is not how it should be. The spice level is adjusted with red chilli powder instead of green chilli which kills the taste. Overall, I won't recommend this place if you're looking for tasty Indian food. read more

We had been waiting for the hype to die down a little bit and decided to go to Everest for lunch at 2:00 on a Saturday. We love it! Service is super friendly; the garlic cheese naan is unreal. Cheesy garlicky goodness! The chicken biryani is insane in terms of flavor. If you are not a spicy heat person get no spice. Spice plus is a step up with some heat. The momo's are also fabulous. I thought the restaurant decor was nice, everyone was friendly. The disabled parking is not flat, there is a significant lip from the parking lot to get onto the pavement. About an inch and a half. The food was quite good, but it wasn't hot. The rice was lukewarm. We were served quite fast. Portions are generous, we split an appetizer and a main dish. My favorite was the Chai, but I wish it had been served hotter, and with more spice. But, they are making it for "Montana", so it is understandable. read more

Helena is not a city that encourages high expectations. It gently suggests you lower them, perhaps dramatically. So when a restaurant dares to rise above the polite hum of "perfectly acceptable," one must take notice. Everest Nepali Indian Food is, annoyingly, quite good. Suspiciously good. The kind of good that makes one question whether the kitchen has made some secret pact with the culinary gods. The lamb tikka masala is the undeniable crown jewel--tender, deeply flavored, and cloaked in a sauce that borders on indulgent without losing its composure. It is the sort of dish that makes you pause mid-conversation, not out of politeness, but because speaking feels secondary to eating. Just be sure to be aware of the spice level you can handle, when they say spice, they mean it. And yet, I hesitate to call anything perfect. Perfection is a dangerous word, thrown around by amateurs and forgiven by no one. What I will say is this: we keep coming back. Not out of convenience, but because few places manage to satisfy in quite the same way. Service is warm and they talk to you when necessary and to me that is very inviting, the atmosphere comfortable, and the experience... consistently impressive. It is not flawless. But it is, frustratingly, very, very good. And that, in Helena, is almost more shocking than perfection itself. read more

I'm here visiting from out of state and was so excited to see Everest as an option for food. We ordered to go over the phone, service was fast. I walked into the restaurant to pick up our order and was instantly met with the most wonderful aroma, queue growling tummy. We ordered the Chicken Chili and Chicken Vindaloo with garlic naan. The flavor was on point, delicious. The depth of flavor in both dishes was perfect the bread was moist and yummy as well. Will for sure be back whenever I'm in town! Good Indian food has finally arrived in Helena. I had chicken tandoori and my wife had chicken tikka masala. Both were excellent though we will get it with more spice next time - suspect their spicy level is calibrated to people who don't enjoy it as spicy as I do. Still, great service and great food. I am so thrilled Helena finally has a restaurant that adds some diverse food options to our town. My family and I ate here tonight. The service was wonderful/prompt, the portions were great, the prices were fair, and most importantly, the food was amazing! We got the Everest Appetizer, which is a sampler of three appetizers, all delicious and gone within minutes. For our mains, we went pretty basic since we have little boys and it was their first time trying Indian cuisine: chicken tikka masala, butter chicken, vegetable biryani, and some garlic naan. We split the paneer korma, chicken tikka masala, butter chicken, and the shrimp chili plus some naan and the sampler appetizer. Service was so really good, the wait staff were very attentive. I have watched a number of orders go out the door in pickup orders while dining room waits an hour plus. If the first month of operation I'd think they'd focus on dining room and wait to take call in orders until their timing is fine tuned in the kitchen. A friend and I went to Everest Indian Kitchen today. Oh, my, absolutely the best meal I've had in Helena in a very long time. Everything about Everest is *****. The Coconut Cherry Naan bread was delicious. My friend had a lamb dish that she loved, and I chose shrimp in a creamy curry sauce. My shrimp was cooked to perfection, the sauce, deserving a James Beard Award, both entrees with a shareable bowl of rice. Service is excellent although hard to understand our server. But, that's what makes it authentic. The restaurant itself was very clean and bright although it would be nice if they could dim the lights for dinner. All in all, a truly amazing experience! So happy that Everest is in Helena. And that it's busy! The menu is very large and has the usual dishes and some you won't find in many American /Indian restaurants. Get there early so they don't run out of them. Everest is not about the ambience. It's in a former Pizza Hut. But it IS about the food, and that is worth waiting for. The servers were attentive and informative, and all our dishes were brought to the table hot and tempting. I ordered #3 spicy which was pretty tame, but then again, they can accommodate all tastes. I, however, will go up a notch. It was all delicious and plentiful. We'll be back. read more
