We've driven by this restaurant SO many times and have yet to come by until now. What a fun experience we had! When you pull up to the plaza you would think anything of the restaurant but when you go inside it's a fun colorful experience. When we were seated we were brought waters and menus. We took some time to look at the menus but ultimately took our server's suggestions on drinks. I ended up having a virgin Rose Colored Glasses drink and absolutely loved it. The drinks were large and I felt they were worth the price. My husband got an old fashioned. To start we got the cheese curds, and when I tell you these cheese curds still live rent free in my mind I kid you not. They were so good, the cheese was battered in a tempura batter with a truffle cream sauce and it made for such an incredible dish! For our entrees we got the pork chop with the brown butter sauces and bavette with a red wine reduction. The pork chop was great with the brown butter you just gotta make sure you mix it up, and the red wine was a bit too salty for me but it was okay because I ended up loving the steak by itself! For our sides we got the grilled zucchini under the snacks option instead of the sides option because I wanted all the fixings. It was a great choice! The fixings really made and I could eat a plate of that and just be happy (with the cheese curds of course). The wiped potatoes were great as well. Now I was going to pass on dessert because I was SO full already, but twist my arm when you tell me the cookie dough ice cream is a must try. It had real cookie dough chunks on top and bottle and the vanilla ice cream was not boring vanilla, I ate almost half of that bowl and couldn't stop. The chocolate chip cookie dough was house made and it was the perfect blend of sweet and salty that tied the whole ice cream bowl together. Can't recommend that enough as well. All in all, we had a great experience! It was so fun to see so many regulars and so many new folks who came in to dine at the same time as us and we all peeked to see who ordered what before we ordered and got some great recs as you can see! So the first time we were here it was amazing but this time it was subpar at best. Don't know if they have a new chef or what but the food was not good. Started with the bread and crabcakes and the bread was amazing and definitely fresh but the crabcakes needed more crab and flavor. Basically everything needed more flavor. We also ordered a bottle of wine which our server struggled with and never came over to refill the glasses. Then the entree's; my husband's bolognese was bland and desperately needed at least salt and pepper. Then the real problem was my steak which was supposed to be medium came out well done and then classically when it was recooked came out rare or medium rare if you are being generous. Then the waitress said she would check back and she didn't so I had to get salt myself from the server station which is kinda ridiculous especially when paying $54 for a steak that already has no seasoning which is why they offer free sauces which makes a lot of sense now. When she finally did come back I said it was under but not waiting for it to be overcooked again so reheating it at home with the cold side of mushrooms I ordered WITH my steak. I did talk to the manager after and he was not really helpful or sympathetic and I was really talking to him so in my review I could say well at least management cares but that is not the case here. I gave 2 stars because their drinks are good and the ambiance is nice and the hostess was super friendly and was the star employee after our visit. Also we paid for everything even the cold mushrooms and over/under cooked steak! At minimum also remake my mushrooms or comp them. Would I eat here again hopefully not but it is locationally desirable for me and my in-laws and have lots of GF options so might have to and if I do hopefully they will have made things better. read more

Tried out Everett Farms for brunch with my mom and enjoyed the experience. Our server was very welcoming and did a great job answering our questions. We did go a bit later in the day so the restaurant was very empty but our food came very quickly. The atmosphere is casual but well done and my mom loved the music they were playing. We started with the cheese curds which were so good and gluten free! This was my favorite part of the meal for sure. I haven't had a cheese curd in probably 10 years and these were fantastic, especially accompanied by the truffle ranch sauce. I got the arugula and grilled chicken salad as my main. It was good but nothing to write home about. The chicken was well seasoned and plentiful and the dried cherries were a nice touch. Overall, I enjoyed it but won't be left thinking about it again. My mom got the smoked ham, brie, and pears sandwich and had similar thoughts. She enjoyed it but wasn't blown away. She did note that she wished it had some sort of honey mustard or a sauce other than mayo. The portion for this sandwich was huge and could easily be two meals. All in all, we enjoyed Everett Farms and would come back. I appreciate how well they label their menu with gluten free options and the service. read more

The service was excellent. We come here often and have never had a bad meal! Elizabeth (Lizzie) is always pleasant and very knowledgeable about the drinks! Ask for her! I highly recommend this restaurant. Also the ambiance is so cool. We prefer the coziness of the Oak Mill lounge which is ultra modern. We came to Everett Farms for a birthday celebration. The place has a small dining area inside, and an outdoor patio as well. Ambiance and decòr was good and I liked the vibe of the place. During the time we were there, they sat us outside. Unfortunately, there is a Metra train line right outside, which may not be a big deal as the metra doesn't come too often, but on this day, the Amtrak train came quite often and for some reason there was construction on the train line, so it was very noisy and unpleasants so we had to relocate inside. Our server was attentive and pleasant, and got all our orders, correct. I got the grilled chicken sandwich minus the pesto sauce and it was decent. Everyone else unfortunately didn't like their meal, with comments of too salty, or just not good. When they gave us our food, which came out Quickly, the person who placed my plate ended up, spilling water all over me, as the plate tipped over a glass. That was yet not a fun experience. We also ordered dessert, I got the crème brûlée and it was actually pretty good. We did waitat least 15 minutes to even get our bill, which for me at least, you should never be waiting to pay. We all agreed that this place was so-so, but it wasn't worth the drive. Probably wouldn't come back here again. BATHROOM REVIEW: Located near the front entrance, the men's bathroom consisted of a urinal and toilet. I always wondered whether I should lock the door, since there's both urinal and toilet. But I figured you want privacy when you're using the toilet, so I locked the door behind me. Everything wasn't working order and seems somewhat clean. I was here for the first time today. I was expecting a special meal, but it was awful. It may have been the worst fish I have ever had. I ordered the cod with fries lunch. Both cod and fries were tasteless. The cod portion was very small, disguised by a lot of breading. The fries looked good, but again they were tasteless. Service was fine. Even though it was Mother's Day and the two of us didn't have a reservation they let us take a table for an hour before it was reserved for another party. Popular spot, lovely ambiance, and great outdoor seating space. Although there were many elevated selections, my friend and I were both hungry for the tempura cod and chips...light and delicious with both a smear of tarragon aioli on the plate and a side of vinegar....would definitely go back. The place is very cute. Very bright and has a very nice patio. However, the service was not good. We were not ready to order right away, and asked for a few more minutes. It took 15 minutes for her to come back once we were were ready, (we needed to ask another server to find her and let her know that we were ready).When she brought the food, she never asked if we needed anything else. We needed, salt, pepper, ketchup, etc. it took a while to get it, and so my son's food was getting cold. Also, they charged three dollars extra for gluten-free bread. I don't have a problem with that, but the sandwich I got ended up with the small piece of bread from the end of the loaf. Also, not a big deal if the bread matches, but it was a little awkward on the way it was presented. If you're going to charge three dollars extra, bring a full piece of bread. Partway into my meal, the server brought homemade chips and said that she had forgotten that it was included in my meal. They were very good, but it would've been nice to have them at the start. This restaurant is supposed to be farmed to table but, that doesn't necessarily seem true. My son had an omelette which he said was very good and my sandwich was good, but it was nothing special for the price they charge. We won't go back, and honestly, too bad because there are few choices in Lake Forest and this place really has great potential with its beautiful location and how cute they have it decorated. They need to step it up in service and food quality. It was not busy so I'm not sure why the service was not good. read more

I ordered the Amazing Crabcake appetizer that came with a bed of salad, every item in the salad complimented the crab cake and the portion size was perfect. Then I had the Mushroom Rissotto, & half of the serving it was filling for me, if u love mushroom and love risotto a must have. I finished off with their homemade Caramel Ice cream. I recently visited Everrett Farms with my coworkers for dinner and the experience was good. We were a large party so I called them in advance to reserve a spot for 10 people. We ordered a lot of appetizers and drinks for the table. We ordered a hummus spread with pita bread, mushroom croquettes and cheese curds for shareable. The hummus spread was really good, cheese curds were a bit too greasy and mushroom croquettes probably had more potatoes than mushrooms so that was a bummer. For drinks I tried a mezcal drink and it was pretty good, the sour taste in it was overpowering the bitter taste of Mezcal which was good. I ordered a Zucchini noodles main course for myself and it was good. It had a lot of mushrooms so I was satisfied. My coworkers ordered steak, potato and mushroom leak, chicken breast, and penne as well and they all liked the food. For deserts, my coworkers ordered creme brûlées and apple tart and they were quite delighted with how it turned out! Overall, Everett Farms is a good spot to get dinner and drinks. This review is for late lunch for two at the main bar in late February. service: Jared took care of us and he was outstanding. Very engaging and professional. He also recommended their sister restaurant, Inovasi in Lake Bluff, that we'll try next time. bar: This is a serious craft cocktail bar. They have a separate bar, the Old Mill Lounge, in the same space, but it was closed. I drank a Revolution Hazy Hero ($8 as of 02/25) and it was great. food: It was the brunch menu, so my wife had biscuits and gravy ($4 for gravy side and $3 for biscuit, as of 02/25) and it a great rendition of that midwestern breakfast classic. I had BLT with house chips ($17 as of 02/25) and it was exceptional, with extra credit for the amazing bread. details: Very nice casual space. Reservations suggested during peak times. Justin was our waiter. He's a very nice guy and a phenomenal server. Part of the reason we came here is because of all of many the gluten-free options for our son with celiac. We ordered a variety of dishes and each dish was excellent. No complaints. The blackened mahi-mahi was outstanding. The cheese curds, which were clearly not frozen from a box, were outstanding and caused a small fight between our kinder. The smoky old-fashioned was phenomenal and the desserts were a big hit. I went to Everett Farms for dinner on a Tuesday evening at 6PM. There were three of us and we made a reservation in advance. When we walked in, we were greeted by a very friendly hostess and we were seated immediately. Also note: a parking lot is available for easy parking in front of and behind the restaurant. Our waiter, Taylor, was wonderful. He was so friendly and funny, it was almost like I knew him. He was also very knowledgeable about the menu. To start, we ordered cocktails. Taylor let us know that some of the cocktails are made in batches ahead of time because they're so popular. I enjoyed the Collie's Pity Party drink but it is on the sweeter side. I liked that some of the cocktails are named are employees. This one specifically is named after the president of Everett Farms! We ordered the Whipped 3 Cheese Schmear with grilled bread for an appetizer and it was delicious! A good balance of sweet and savory and the grilled bread was nice I had the potato and leek soup and my friend ordered the wild mushroom. The potato and leek reminded me of a loaded potato because it included bacon. I thought the soup had good flavor but I didn't like the consistency as much, it seemed a bit watery for me. My friend loved the mushroom soup and she orders it every time she dines there. She said it's very earthy and refined. For dinner, we had the small grilled wedge salad with steak and the blackened mahi mahi. The small salad was a good size for someone who isn't very hungry but I wish I ordered the larger portion, I would've been more satisfied. Overall, the salad was very good and I would order it again. I loved the flavors of the Roquefort blue cheese and the herb ranch dressing. My friend said the amount of blackened seasoning on the mahi mahi completely overpowered the fish. He could only taste the charred seasoning instead of the fish. The polenta and salsa verde were nice though. read more
