We've lived in Highland Park for just over a year and we FINALLY made it here, and I will say Abagail's didn't disappoint. The food was good, as were the drinks. We loved the patio and had a server who was friendly and attentive. I also loved that it's walking distance from our house , a great neighborhood place!

I had a great experience at Abigail's as my wife and I celebrated our 25th anniversary. We had a great meal including appetizer, entree and dessert. Good atmosphere and very attentive staff. Plenty of parking across the street off of St. John's. You would be wise to choose Abigail's for a date night or night out with friends.

This is a terrific little hotspot in downtown Ravinia. Everything we have tried has been delicious, and service is attentive and knowledgeable. There is plenty of parking in the public lot across the street

Abigail's consistently delivers on value, presentation, food quality, and ambiance. When I'm looking for fresh, flavorful food served by a friendly staff (shout out to our waiter Scout), Abigail's is where I go.

Got there real early and sat at the bar. See my pictures. Every dish was excellent!!!! Hubby and I will be back.

Duck confit 'salad' - fries at the bottom. A lot of fries. Too many fries? Shut up.

The mussels are actually peak. If you go there, I either recommend the pasta or the mussels.

Had anyone tried the roast chicken dinner? Thoughts? How about the deserts? thanks!

The blueberry crisp is excellent. Unlike some places, they let the taste of the fruit predominate and the crisp is just as billed:crispy!

Their wine prices for the bottle are very reasonable with a wide selection. They only charge $20 for a corkage fee should you want to bring your own. The space is cozy so making a reservation would be advisable. My only regret was ordering the espresso martini which was really disappointing since everything else was so good. It didn't have the right foam on top and tasted really off so avoid that but their other cocktails were delicious. Can't wait to come back and try more!!

Service was also great! I ordered the Beyond Burger with "sautéed jalapeno, onion, mushroom, corn, and a light shmear of stone-ground mustard". It tasted great, and the portion size was plentiful. The menu also offered other vegan options such as the Vegetable Jambalaya (which I didn't order because it's super spicy), and the Asian Vegetable Noodle Bowl (with tofu). I would like to come back to try the bowl for sure! The decor is interesting; it made me feel like I was in the 1980s... somewhere out of town. The low ceiling was the only thing I wasn't a fan of since it made me feel a little claustrophobic. All in all, it was a great experience!

We got the burger and truffle fries to share, along with / rolls and the karrage chicken. The burger was good with the caramelized onions but nothing significant to write home about. My favorite items though were the truffle fries, and the hot honey karaage we asked for the honey on the side so that we're able to share with our little but it was super crispy, and the chicken bites were juicy and delicious it didn't even need the honey. I truthfully don't love pickles but the pickles were delicious and I ate them all! The sushi rolls were both really fresh and had great flavor. Overall a good experience I'd like to come back during regular hours to try their regular menu. We were a bit disappointed that the only available menu was the happy hour one which was pretty limited.

Charlie Beinlich's Food and Tap out in Northbook is this Dive Bar / Tavern established in 1950 and looked and felt every bit of its 75 years; I absolutely LOVED this place. Wow, talk about nostalgia! Beinlich's emanated an era way back when that just doesn't exist anymore. At 7:30 pm this Saturday night this cash only place was packed to over flowing. I mean Humming like a turbine engine. The bar was sold out and we jumped on the only table left. Now the fun started: * Their Chili con Carne is this cauldron of meat and beans done thoroughly right. We loved it * Their shrimp cocktail was equally wonderful * My Cheeseburger was out of this world. With sautéed onions, real cheddar cheese, on toasted rye bread - Wow, it was so good. * Their French fries and coleslaw were great sides * My Miller Highlife Beer in a bottle took me back to my college days.
