When we spoke with the main staff member about the issue, we were met with rudeness and profanity. Despite written communication between the venue and the bride confirming the guest count, the venue had the wrong number of attendees recorded, which affected the amount of food that had been prepared. Once the issue was resolved by reviewing the written correspondence and confirming that the mistake was on the venue's end--not the bride's--no apology was offered for the error, the inconvenience, or the unprofessional interaction. On top of that, the reception space was not clean upon arrival. While a small amount of dust is understandable for a rustic, rural venue, the floors had not been swept and the windows were dirty. I will say that the food was very good, and our room accommodations were comfortable and clean. Unfortunately, those positives did not outweigh the lack of organization, professionalism, and customer service we experienced.
