The staff are generally pretty friendly with a good sense of humour, and there always seems to be so many of them working in the small kitchen area. The portions of food that they dish out are large, and the special fried rice that they make here is always packed with plenty of meat and cashew nuts; One of my favourites. They have a smorgasbord here too, where you can pick and make your own concoction of Chinese food. There is an art to stacking those plastic smorgasbord containers though that I haven't quite mastered yet. By the end of it, the mountain of food looks a bit like Jenga!

The trolleys came round quite regular and we ended up taking some sesame balls, spring rolls, pork buns , tofu skin with mushroom and pork filling and blue egg porridge, ( one of my favourite ) and a few other delights. No complaints on the tasting side, nor on the service as the girls were quick in keeping the trolleys come round as well as being pleasant and the bill wasn't too bad either. As we had been before more than likely we will be back again.

Don't worry there's still plenty of those doughy delights but there's also hand-pulled noodles, savoury pancakes and this refreshingly zingy salad of cucumber and tofu that fans of New fFavour will know well. Seriously, how does this man find the time.... The interior isn't much to write home about with only a couple of cheap tables and chairs but the food comes out fresh and fast and of course, there's takeaway. The menu is very similar to New Flavour, so dumplings are a must - choose from such flavours, and my personal favourites, of Pork, prawn & chives, Mutton & onion and Egg, chives & prawn. You can order them steamed or fried, or even frozen to take them away & cook at home! Other dish recommendations are: Sliced dried tofu & cucumber salad if you can handle a tangy hit of chilli in the dressing, the Fried pancakes, any of the noodle dishes and the Deep-fried eggplant with pork mince stuffing. There are no trolleys dashing by; rather, the waitresses carry around platters of piping hot bamboo steamers by the dozen. I've only visited twice so am still eating my through their dim sum goodies, but so far, I have yet to be disappointed! All the usual suspects are here, including siu mai, BBQ pork buns, pork spareribs, congee, steamed dumplings, innards and feet. They also have other, less common goodies like the sticky rice balls, which I prefer over the banana-leaf wrapped version and are definitely worth a try. I highly recommend the siu mai - they're uber succulent and a prime example of how they should be! As for dessert, the egg tarts are really good as well, but even better are their baked custard buns. If you can't find something you like from what's being carried around, you can ask for a dim sum menu (complete with coloured pictures!) and they will cook to order as well. So communication may be a little strained because many of the waitresses don't speak great English, but the staff are friendly and fast at filling up tea and clearing the tables. And VR Baker's is a bakery too, stocking not only the typical cakes and sandwiches in their cabinets, but also the dim sum offerings. The staff were efficient and runned off their feet, but could do with a smile. The food was as good as any Chinese restaurants and the portions huge. We doggie bagged several containers from each table. We had plain chicken and duck. The roast pork is a specialty of the house and is definitely good. We liked the beans fried with mince. They're a mix of fish and chips and Chinese food by the plate load, and I wouldn't have it any other way. The best part about Nocky's and inarguably the most popular, is their chicken nibbles. You just can't go wrong and I know very few people (with bad taste) that don't enjoy these. They are perfectly fried and cooked every time, and you can buy 40 or 100 at a time. Those chicken nibbles are a great feature for any shared lunch and will disappear before you know it. Needless to say they taste awesome! I love the pineapple fritters here, which is what I look for in every takeaway shop, and they do another awesome dish- pineapple and cashew nuts with combination meat (but you can pick just one meat if you prefer), a favourite of mine if I'm on my own. The staff here work pretty fast and even when its busy the wait isn't too long- they definitely know how to feed a crowd. The prices here are reasonable whether you're buying food for one or twenty, and they always give you a good deal if you're buying a lot. I've seen a couple of Warriors players here on weekends too grabbing food (I won't name drop!), so that's got to be some kind of compliment to this place!
