This Christmas tree farm is absolutely amazing. The whole operation is well thought through. From the moment we walked up we were treated great!!! All the attendants and helpers were so kind and helpful. We followed the crowd to the spot where the tractor picks up customers (this is a very basic tractor wagon pull but it is slow so it didn't feel dangerous) dogs and humans alike piled up and we were on our way to the tree fields! We came with our two pups this year to help pick the perfect tree. We walked around for a litttle while examining allll the trees- white pine and blue spruce. Flat rate for each $100 for while pine which has longer needles that kind of fluff out at the ends and blue spruce that has smaller needles and looks like a "classic" tree. Last year around this time- we visited another Christmas tree farm and all the trees were gone and online younger smaller trees were left.....but here there was simply more space to grow trees and fields full still to pick from! We forgot to bring our own axe or electric chainsaw so we were able to borrow one from another guest. They did hang out simple band chainsaws but in our excitement we forgot to grab one before hopping on the wagon. We found 2 trees we really loved and opted for a shorter more robust white pine :) it was very healthy and sappy and we all loved it! Certainly requires some strong arms so please keep that in mind. We piled the tree on the wagon and hopped on to head back to the area where attendants helped us shake out the dry needles and wrap the tree to make it easily transportable. This whole experience was beyond a dream- so convenient with helpful hands to guide us through the process. BEAUTIFUL healthy trees, and complimentary hot mulled cider! This will be our new spot for our annual tradition from now on!! They also do pumpkins! I noticed a lot of families with matching pjs so it's a perfect opportunity for a good photoshoot and family memories! Took a trip out here yesterday to pick out a Christmas tree and had a blast! Once you get there you're able to grab a saw and walk around to pick out and cut down your own tree. They also have a tractor available that drives you out further into the tree lot/brings you back once you have your tree picked out. (We decided to walk as it was nice out) They offered free cider, as well as free shaking and netting of the tree. The prices were $80 for white pine and $120-$150 for Norway Spruce (depending on height). A fun outing for families with children and dogs as well! Highly recommend! read more

This was our second year selecting a Christmas tree from Evergreen Acres and visiting Cedar Run Brewery. Imagine our pleasant surprise last year (2021) to find a Cidery and Christmas tree farm in one -- an immediate new family tradition was born! Unfortunately, this year (2022) when my wife took our little girls to the ladies room during our visit on a Saturday afternoon, our hopes for establishing this new tradition were utterly destroyed. On the wall and in plain sight of our minor children in the women's bathroom, were advertisements for a drag show. While I understand that Cedar Run only allows those under the age of 18 on the premises for specific dates/functions, one would think, as this was one of those dates, they would have sanitized for young children. Such an oversight means we will be looking for a new tree farm for next Christmas and there will be no further recommendations to our family and friends regarding Evergreen Acres and Cedar Run Brewery. read more

Moving away from the Home Depot Christmas trees, the family wanted to do a tree farm experience, so we drove out to evergreen farms. Tucked away in the more rural part of PWC, the addition of Cedar Run brewery makes this very easy to find. Large parking lot, efficient operation, from start to finish it's a fun, stress free Christmas tree cutting process. You park by the barn, can catch a tractor ride out to the trees or walk if you like. They have saws ready for you,l. Find the perfect tree, cut it, bring it back to the barn (carry or tractor ride), they shake it, wrap it, and will give you twine if you need. All of the staff and owner are very nice, friendly and happy to help. All of your questions can be answered on the web site. There are also fire pits, horse shoes, and the brewery right next door if you go in the afternoon or evening. I would recommend bringing work / yard gloves if you have any, just helps with the sawing and sap management. read more

Just went today for our Christmas tree. They had a good selection and were not insanely priced ($45 for a spruce $65 for a pine-- I think. Might have that backwards). A nice wagon ride and hot cider as well and the workers were very nice. Will go back again next year! read more

One cannot go wrong finding and cutting down their own winter tree here at Evergreen. My daughter and I found this gem in October for our massive and beautiful pumpkin this October, and it delivered once again for our tree. Nice people helping and prepping the tree for transport. Very reasonable prices. I'll be a frequent visitor here as long as I live in the area. Oh and I'll definitely show when their Brewery is finished. read more

We went today to pick out our Christmas tree. Love having the ability to wonder and find the perfect tree you want and be able to cut it down. Found the perfect 7' white pine that was full. The staff working there were very nice, helpful and appreciative of you showing patronage to their farm. I would recommend this to anyone who loves to pick their own tree and see it before you buy it. If you have kids this is the perfect place to bring them. I'm hauling our dead tree out of the house tonight, December 11th. We cut it ourselves and it barely lasted two weeks despite us doing all things tree friendly, closing heating vents, starting with warm water etc. I thought that I got a weird tree with something wrong with it. We have had two other trees from evergreen acres with no problem. After a call to the owner, her informs me that we have cut the wrong tree and that the one we chose only lasts a couple weeks! Wow. I really think you should consider the fact that people buy trees for Christmas. Now I'm out $70 and I need a new tree for three little kids to have Christmas Day. The owners lack of customer service really surprised us. They gave us a hayride to the specific tree lot and told us we could cut these! The person driving the tractor, the person who helped us, or rang us up... no warning. Just wanted to make money I guess. read more

We went here right after Thanksgiving. There was a great selection of trees but if you are interested, I'd advise you get there real soon. We caught the tractor ride out to the tree, found our perfect tree, cut it down and caught a ride back out. The staff was very helpful. They put the tree on a "shaker" and afterwards, put it in a net. While waiting we enjoyed some hot apple cider. It was so good, we bought a gallon to take home. A great family outing. read more

We have been going to get trees at Evergreen for years. I have to say I was so disappointed this year getting a Xmas Tree. Everyone was very nice and the kids had fun running around, but the selection and quality of the trees were horrible and very disappointing. Many of the trees were dead but after a very long drive we felt like we shouldn't leave empty handed. We still had to pay full price ($50) for our small trees that may only last a few weeks. Management should have posted something on their website about the lack of trees so people could come at their own risk, like Butler Orchids did. We completely understand how long it takes to grow trees and Management should really consider closing down during the holidays for a few years. I can not recommend, any longer, Evergreen Acres and it will be years, if ever, that my family goes back. read more

I'm rating 5 stars because this was exactly the kind of place we were looking for. If you want corn mazes, giant pumpkin exhibits, rides, games and kids' activities then this isn't the pumpkin patch for you. We are a young couple and were just looking for a nice, quiet place to enjoy a beautiful Fall day and pick some pumpkins! It's pretty well hidden in the back roads of Nokesville but our GPS got us there with no problems. When we arrived, the hayride to the pumpkin patch was just about to leave and they didn't mind waiting for us to catch up. It was about a ten minute long hayride and there were only about 8 people on it with us. A pleasant, bumpy ride around the farm as we went through the Christmas tree fields, past tomatoes and beside a nice stream. The ride ends at the pumpkin patch field, which is huge with plenty of room for people to spread out. No huge crowds which was really nice. There were plenty of pumpkins to choose from in different sizes and colors. We had never been to a place where you literally pick your pumpkin off the vine! A very cool experience. I definitely recommend wearing long pants (or leggings) and closed toe shoes. Next time I think I'd bring something to cut the pumpkin off the vine, too. It was do-able with our bare hands but the vines and stems have little spines on them so it was a little uncomfortable. The hayride comes back about 15 minutes later to give you a ride back, which was a perfect amount of time for us. There's a picnic table where you can sit to wait if you're finished before that. The people are really nice and the price for pumpkins is very reasonable (admission is free). They also had zucchini, small pumpkins and drinks for sale. We had a great time and look forward to returning to pick our Christmas tree next month! Bottom line: If you're just looking for a quiet, natural setting for pumpkin picking without tripping over dozens of kids, then this is the spot for you! read more
