I came in with stubborn color that would not come out no matter what I did at home. I called around to a few salons and the cheapest quote I got was $200+ dollars. I decided to give it the "ol college try" by trying the student salon. Noah was awesome, he listened to all the concerns I had, asked some great questions, was a great conversationalist, and was mindful of my time (had a meeting at noon). His teacher consulted on every important step and they were helpful too. At the end of the appointment my hair looks fantastic, the green is gone and I'm one step closer to getting back to my natural color after multiple mistakes on my end. Paroba College Salon Spa used to be my go to place for cheap facials around Everett, but when they closed I knew I had to find something to take it's place. While I had been to Evergreen Beauty College Salon for a wax a million years ago, I had not taken advantage of much else. I found that they also offered student facials, which could be booked online, were an hour and 40$. While this was more than I was paying previously, the ability to book online and having better evening hours really worked for me. The room experience is pretty similar, they offer a lot of the same type of services and best of all you don't have to show your face to the teacher for inspection at the end of your session. I've been going semi regularly for awhile now, I've been satisfied with every service I have received. I've learned that you need to bring cash for a tip. I almost always opt for the customized facial. I tried the back microdermabrasion and I have a gel manicure scheduled for the future. I am starting to debate a face microdermabrasion or a chemical peel next. The price has gone up, a custom facial is now 50$, which is still reasonable, but I also now have some kind of paid membership card that gets me 20% off services making it 40$ and came with a free facial included in the cost. I'm a fan. I keep dreaming of checking out the Shoreline location, but their spa hours don't seem to include evenings. Do beware if you find someone you love they might not be there for long, but if you do try to book a follow up facial before you leave. read more

I brought my 19-year-old daughter in last month to have a hair correction trim and style. Her hair has never looked better. *PART ONE* THIS REVIEW IS FOR ANYONE THINKING OF ATTENDING HERE AS A STUDENT!!! If you can go anywhere else for school do that then investing your time, energy and money here. For starters the whole process of trying to get in touch with this school was a nightmare. I had sent in several requests to learn more information and left several voicemails expressing my interest, after finally countless emails, calls and inquiries I was able to reach Blair who had sent me a last minute opportunity to join a meeting at 6pm that same day, I joined that day as I was eager and excited to learn more about this school and opportunity. And after reviewing my finances I realized I could afford tuition on just a payment plan then financial aid. But my first initial impression was terrible in the fact if a future student is interested you need to do better on getting back to people in a timely manner and more welcoming I put so much effort in just trying to get ahold of someone I should've realized that was the first big red flag! Secondly, at this point I had already put down about half the tuition around 6K of my own hard earned money. On the first day of school, there was only 3 other students in my class and we were informed then that our teacher was on Vacation in Mexico! Which was not conveyed to me or the other students. So we had a substitute teacher. That teacher was not at all professional in the slightest, he was disorganized, and didn't seem to know what he was talking about half the time then out of the blue tells me and my class mates were going to start waxing each other. When we hadn't even been taught how to properly start waxing. I should've walked out just then but I thought I will give it a chance my classmate pulled hair from my arm hair which btw now won't grow back normally and is permanently missing and I have a weird patch of missing hair on my left arm now because she waxed me incorrectly! I was really upset that no one was informed we would have a subs Thirdly when asked about homework and assignments because we were told before school started we would have 10 hours of outside homework. I brought this up to him and asked what our assignments would be. He had no clue what we were talking about and just said don't worry about it your teacher will be back in a week. The teachers barely teach they socialize the whole time and most of your work is done online. No one seem to really care about the education part of it. This is a review for a 60min facial + extractions. I came in with an appointment I had made 3 hours earlier in the day, but I arrived early, and they were able to take me back half a hour earlier than my appointment! My gal took me back to the skin services area where we reviewed my skin concerns and what services I wanted. We decided to stick with a standard facial, but I later on added some extractions. Her instructor came in and he signed off on our plan for the hour, and they both left me to change out of my top and into this towel shirt/thing. I was told I could have kept my bra on if I was more comfortable, but they ask to have your décolletage exposed so you get the most out of the massage/products. The facial itself was so relaxing that I actually dosed off a bit. I would definitely return for the spa services! My only comment would be to improve the spa by using plain white sheets on the spa beds! Although this is a student spa, I think the crisp, white sheets would add another layer of professionalism! read more

My daughter and I went for manicures, pedicures and haircuts. We were SO excited. The pedicures were excellent. Our manicures were sub par and still passed inspection. When i complained, i did get a free fix (to be done in future), but i was dumbfounded how the extreme issues had to be called out by me and not pointed out by the instructor. My nails were different shapes/odd filing, the gel was not even and gel wasn't on full nail (looks like days of grow out on day 1). My haircut seems good. Low maintenance just jow I like it. My daughters haircut was heartbreaking. She went in with hair almost down to bum and wanted it to fall between her shoulder blades.The girl took off an extra 4 to 5 inches and did some odd layering in the back. I have gone to beauty schools on and off during my life. I always felt I was paying less to be generous with my time, patient and to be on display. I don't pay less to have my hair butchered and I have never had issues. The instructors have always protected me from the inexperience of the students. This was not the case at Evergreen. My daughter's stylist voiced her concern that it looked hard and they just left her alone to go for it. Still kicking myself i didn't stay with my young adult while she was getting the cut (i was getting my hair cut too). The instructor was possibly too busy, got there too late or did not have the skills to instruct or make meaningful corrections herself. My daughter wears her hair long and straight. NOT SUPER COMPLICATED.....at least when it comes to cutting off the right amount of hair. If the student couldn't do it she should have called for help or just told us to leave. It won't be truly long again for at least several months. I expect we will need to go pay full price for a corrective cut once we see whats really going on in back. I would add a picture, but dont want to do without my daughter's permission. Not the end of the world, but hard on a teen. For an extra 30 bucks we would have shed less tears, got at least a hour in time back, and had the look she wanted for sr pics. Do not let them cut your hair if a specific look is important to you. Do not let them do your nails unless you have time to get them redone. The school and salon are clean. Everyone is friendly and professional. read more

Went in today for a shave and a haircut, what I got was way more. The atmosphere here is very light and fun. I was met by a very lovely woman named Shelina who took care of me. She gave me the perfect hair cut and the best shave I have ever gotten. While there the whole salon started singing along to queen that was playing on the radio. This place is fantastic. read more

I know this is a school and students are learning, but I just had such a horrendous experience. I went in for a cut and some highlights. I came out wanting to cry and having to buy a hat. My hair was turned bright yellow with uneven chunks of highlighted hair. They cut my hair in about 3 minutes because they were closing and didn't want to spend any extra time there. It was so uneven and then since they were closing they didn't want to blow dry or finish my hair. So I left with a wet head and my self confidence in the gutter. For the next three days I wore a hat because I couldn't even look at myself in the mirror. Luckily I found another salon that fixed it all. My biggest thing was that they were forcing me out of the salon before they had even finished my hair (even when I had my appt for 9am). I've visited EBCS a few times, but I've never had such a negative experience. As an African American going in for hair coloring, I inquired at the front desk if there are students familiar with my 4C hair type that could color it for me. The receptionist was really rude and began babbling about unnecessary stuff that have nothing to do with my question. I was embarrassed, taken aback and unable to make sense of her answer or behavior and began to wonder if I had said or done something improper. I am aware that it is a school and that the students are learning. However, not all of them, are confident or comfortable with doing my hair type. My work was done by two girls who were really friendly and performed a good job. I have gone and paid big bucks for hair care in the past. This time I went with a girlfriend, apprehensively, to Evergreen Beauty College. I was assigned to Stephanie and was very pleasantly surprised to have both my highlights and my cut to be great. I am hard to please because my hair is pin straight and shows every flaw but Stephanie pulled both off like a pro. I am giving it 4 stars instead of five because it takes longer to get you done here. I've been going here for hair stuff ever since I moved here 3 years ago. I'm here to say I'm not coming back. I've gone in the past and they have been "alright" experiences. I did go back to see one other girl twice because I just loved her personality, but this is a school--she graduated and moved on. My one star and final straw came from my recent visit ... today. With COVID, it's understandable the challenges beauty salons face, but this is out of the ordinary. I got there, called in and was told that someone would meet me at the door "in a few minutes". A "few minutes" turned into 35 minutes and nobody seemed to care that I was waiting in my car for someone to show up. Normally, I would be a bit more patient, but as I watched to see that "someone", I kept watching groups of students leaving by the front door, going on break or wherever. Nobody seemed to be looking for someone to bring inside. I saw 3 girls take a selfie outside of the front door, one go smoke her vape, and countless leaving the building. I thought, "maybe I misunderstood" and stood outside for a moment to read the board outside. It says "wait in your car". Ok, so I go back. Meanwhile, I'm staring back inside and some are staring back at me, but shrug it off and continue doing whatever they were doing. By the end of it, I was sick of waiting and just left. Maybe they would call me wondering where I went. Nope. Nothing. So after coming here and being glad that they opened in August 2020 after being shut down, I'm not coming back. My time was not respected and I felt completely ignored the entire time waiting right in front of the salon. Teachers--make this a lesson for your students. This is not acceptable. read more

Up until today, I would have given them at least 4 stars. But not anymore. I went in last week to have my hair colored dark brown and get a deep conditioner. The student mixed the color according to the educator's instructions and low and behold, it dyed my hair jet black. Ironically, I had even specifically stated in our pre-dye discussion that I absolutely did not want my hair black! I didn't expect this to be the result at all. That educator's initial response was defensive, as though it was not a problem that my hair was exactly what I said I didn't want. I was quite annoyed that I had to explain to her that I did not ask for, nor did I want jet black hair. She did agree to try to fix it or re-do it free, which is their policy. After trying unsuccessfully to wash the black out, they scheduled me for a re-do the next week to fix it. I went in to have the color corrected (today), which was done using a toxic smelling, scalp heating bleach wash. I asked them to be sure to deep condition my hair again, since it was having to be bleached and re-processed and that is what I paid for along with the botched coloring. The student and educator (different ones on this day) worked together to correct the color. It wasn't perfect, not EXACTLY the color I wanted, but at least it was brown, not black and overall they did a good job. I understand that errors can happen and at this point I was satisfied enough with the service. And that's when yet ANOTHER problem came up. They actually, with a straight face, tried to bill me for the deep conditioner! I explained to the girl at the counter that I had paid for a deep conditioner along with my initial service which had been un-done by the bleach wash and re-process, which was necessitated by THEIR ERROR. She called over another person, who was the supervisor, manager, owner, or whoever (not sure, all I know is she was the lady in charge). This lady proceded to try to explain to me that I owed them money for the process of correcting their error. Seriously? She tried to tell me that the color was "only a little darker" (as though I was unreasonable for not wanting the jet black hair) and that they had upsold me a deep conditioner for my conveinience and that as a business, they needed to be paid. She acted like my expectation that I receive the service I already paid for was somehow crazy or dishonest on my part. This was, hands down, the VERY WORST customer service I have ever received at any hair establishment...EVER...LIKE EVER IN MY WHOLE LIFE! I actually had to argue with this woman for her to do the decent thing and remove the charges. I had had good experiences there up until this and I was quite shocked and disappointed. I'm a little sad because I had enjoyed my experiences there for the most part but now I am not sure if I feel comfortable letting them touch my hair again. I should not have had to argue with the managment for them to fix my hair and give me what I paid for. This kind of super shady business practice and poor customer service is a complete turn off. Beware if you use Evergreen's services - this experience was absolute madness. Follow up to my initial review: I just found out that the lady I had to argue with was the owner. And to think that they are training students in a service industry with this kind of horrible services by the owners. I've lowered my rating from 2 to 1 star because of this. I had a facial scheduled that I booked with my initial appt. I'm calling to cancel it right now. read more

Just got a facial done by Danavin yesterday afternoon! It was my first microdermabrasion and it won't be my last! I loved it! My skin feels baby soft now. Danavin was very professional and explained to me what a microdermabrasion is, what it will do for me, and what the little white dots on my face is, and how this treatment will help/ hopefully break it down after a few times. With my treatment Danavin also gave me mini massage that felt great! I already have pretty good skin. But, when I was applying my makeup on today my face didn't just feel smoother, but also looked very smooth and bright!
