I saw Lisa Marie today for a hair cut fix and she is absolutely amazing. I had a cut and color done by another stylist at a different salon a couple days ago and I didn't advocate for myself when I was unsatisfied with the cut. When I scheduled the appt with Lisa Marie, I let the front desk know that I wanted to fix the cut, get rid of the blunt/heavy shape and they paired me with the perfect stylist. Lisa Marie was did a wonderful job! She let me explain what I wanted, reviewed an inspiration photo with me and expressed excitement for doing the fix! It sounds like she enjoys all kinds of hair transformations but that she gets a real joy out of helping a client become so much more satisfied and excited with their end result. We did a dry cut since my hair was clean and she wanted to see how the pieces flowed together while trimming and cutting slices. The whole time we had great conversation - she's playful, funny and really nice. At the end of my visit, I left SO satisfied and really excited about my haircut. She gave me new words to use to describe the shape I was looking for, but most importantly, she gave me her card so I can see her again when I'm ready for a new cut. read more

Had hair color done with Kann. She really knows what she's doing. My hair color was reddish and brassy, basically it dint look good at all. I don't even know what color it is. She fixed it by adding highlights and tone my hair to blend with the old color. She also recommended me to get a hair treatment which I did. I usually don't take the time to write reviews - especially negative ones but I feel that when you pay over $200 for something and pretty much get nothing back, you should warn others about it. This place came highly recommended to me since I was looking to change my look and get a balayage. I ended up paying $235 and as you can see in my picture you BARELY can see it. The stylist was sweet and nice, but for the most part she wouldn't listen to me.. I specifically told her I was thinking on the inverted bob since I had it before and is a great style for me. She said I was going to look like a mom.. what? Excuse me, I do have an almost 4 year old and looking like a mom should not be something bad! We ended up with another style since I was afraid she was not going to do a good job. I also told her I wasn't afraid of changes, and I wanted my hair to look different.. guess what? NO ONE noticed that I cut my hair, let alone did some sort of coloring. I also tried to contact them via their website before posting here to see if there was a chance to take a look and maybe fix my hair and got NOTHING as an answer. Kristen was my stylist and she was incredible! I scheduled the 15 minuet color consultation first (highly recommend) so Kristen really took the time to hear what my vision was and make me feel comfortable and confident in her chair. I've been going here for YEARS and I trusted this salon with every hair cut that I've gotten. I was visiting family and decided to get a trim, freshen up my layers and trim my bangs. I booked an appointment with Sydelle and when I arrived to my appointment on time I waited 15 minutes to be sat for my haircut. No biggie. She ended up pushing her next client 30 minutes. I sat in the chair for over an hour then was asked if it would be ok if I left with wet hair. The problem is i left without seeing what my hair cut looked like and I left feeling like it was my fault for her delayed timing with the previous appointment. Not only that but I went to brunch with my mother with wet hair. My last 2 experiences have not been the greatest at this salon and unfortunately this will be my last cut from them. read more

I went to get a balayage from Kann today. The first thing she asked me was did you wash your hair today, I said yes this morning, then she said can you take your ponytail out? So I took it out and she said oh it's still wet I need blow dry it, then proceeded to brush my hair out and found some tangled and started tanking on my hair. I said ouch that hurts, she said ok sorry, but then kept saying are you ok, I know your tender headed, actually no I'm not, I just don't want you taking on my hair, she was rude, didn't talk at all to me, put my head in the sink with no towel, which started hurting m neck, so I asked her for a towel because that was hurting my neck, she said ok just let me know what you need because this is your first time with me. Basically she kept making snide remarks to me. When she showed me my hair it looked nothing like the photos I showed her. I told her I just wanted to leave at that point and I was not satisfied. The manager tried to tell me it takes a long time to go from brown to blonde and by that point I was just disgusted and told her I just wanted to get out of there, that was the worst experience in a salon in my life! i went in to see sydelle for an all over color and haircut on 2/10. i remembered her saying at my last appointment she didn't like doing both color and cut in the same appointment but i had an event that week so i really wanted it done. because i knew this i went out of my way to pick her up a coffee to make up this. she had gone over with her previous client so my appointment was started 15 mins late and we ended up not having time for my haircut and just did the color which i just accepted. all over color is listed as a $97 service. when i went up to pay i was told me total was $232 for my color only. no haircut. i was immediately shocked and asked the receptionist if that was including the haircut or not. she said that it was just for the cut and brought back the stylist to confirm. the stylist proceeded to tell me that i was also charged for a "gloss". at no point did we discuss adding on a gloss, let alone a gloss that costs $135!! we never did any extra steps of any sort to indicate i was getting an extra service. i was NEVER told we were adding on a gloss or getting any upgrades of any kind at all. i was looked at like i was the one who didn't know who i was talking about when i questioned this gloss. i took it on the chin and paid. it has been a few weeks now and i am still so sad about this and feeling cheated out of my money. also to mention whatever $135 "gloss" was done in my hair didn't seem to do anything special to my hair and i would have never agreed to it. i am very disappointed by this scammy behavior and wish that it was not the case because i have been coming to this salon for the last few years and have brought over my friends and family to this salon. sadly this will not longer be a business that i trust. read more

So, I had scheduled an appointment online for my daughter to get a haircut. I had scheduled it with a senior hairdresser, after reading her bio & thinking she would be a better fit. When we got to the salon, we were told that our appointment was with Elizabeth. I was a little confused beacuse I had scheduled the appointment with a different hairdresser. So obviously, I shared my concern with the receptionist, who insisted that my daughter's appointment was with Elizabeth. I am not gonna lie, I was pretty mad and I am sure my anger had shown through. I asked Elizabeth about her work experience & she said, she had graduated in December 2021. I was very apprehensive about having my daughter get her haircut from someone so new!( I have had very bad experiences in the past with junior hairdressers). But, I was so WRONG to question Elizabeth about her skill! She did a WONDERFUL job giving my daughter the exact haircut that she had wanted & even told her how to style it herself. I got a call from Emily, she was very nice and sweet suggested for me to come in and see her stylist who deals fixing hair. I was very nervous but when I came into salon they were all nice. I got Wendy she was very funny and nice I really like her. She did agree with me that my hair needs to be fixed and my layers weren't right one side was shorter then other side and it wasn't straight, and with my color/balayage I'm not even going to go their.( I guess I won't be going back to see Stephanie) Wendy sad she can get my hair to look better but I'll be hard to fix it. I came into salon with brunette and my baleyage was caramel with radish tint and my roots in front was pouch brunett mix with orange if that makes sense. I came out of the salon way lighter Blondish even I mentioned my husband doesn't likes that color and it's out of my comfort zone, but I guess that's what I got, i don't hate it But it needs to be little more professional done I got one big piece in front of my face and tiny strip on left side it's on fully blended. And with hair cut she struggled I had to show her couple times were it needs to be trimmed. Maybe I should not went at the end of the day lol. I had a balayage by Sydelle. Firstly, I would give 5 stars to their customer support, the owner was really amazing at reaching out and giving a solution. But unfortunately I didn't get what I went in for. So I booked the appointment online and it showed a 3 hour appointment, I went for my appointment and showed the picture that I wanted on my hair. She told me that it can't be done in this time frame and I have to come some other time if I want that style, which I was okay with, then she said she could talk to the next client to reschedule, which I believe what happened cuz I spent around 4 hours there. She then described what she's going to do with my hair as I have black/dark brown hair and was previously colored. She said she still cannot do the shown picture but explained something that she'll try to do. I really thought she would do something close or related to what I asked and somehow trusted her. So finally after 4 hours, left the salon and what I got was exactly opposite of what I asked!! I hated my hair so much that I couldn't step out of my house! I called back and told my situation, and I was immediately scheduled for a correction appointment. I went in and met the owner (I think) whom I explained the whole situation and she was amazing at understanding my situation and I would definitely appreciate their customer support. Then Sydelle did try something and I was a little better. But Its been a month now and I still hate my hair. I wish I could change it but I don't want to damage my hair further. I guess I'll just chop it off. So go for the owner, she was amazing and very knowledgeable, I would definitely recommend her, but unfortunately not Sydelle specially if you have dark hair, I don't think she understands Indian/dark hair. read more

I got my hair colored by Stephanie a couple days ago and I am completely IN LOVE with it! The colors (purple and teal, the school I work at's colors) are incredibly vibrant, though one side has turned almost royal blue, which I'm also very happy with (because that happens to be my wedding colors!). Stephanie was awesome, she was talkative when I wanted to be but also fine with working in silence when I wasn't. Her excitement about seeing the colors was contagious, it was really awesome to have her be as into it as I was. The salon is very clean and nice on the inside and everyone was friendly. I loved that the wifi password was displayed up front, nice touch! I also particularly liked that they made sure to ask me what colors I was planning on doing when I called and made the appointment because they go and buy their own preferred brand of color. I wanted to get my hair done at the cheaper Gene Juarez Academy but they don't have "exotic" colors and I would've had to pick out my own and bring it in... and being a newb I was SO not prepared for that responsibility, so this was a breath of fresh air. When it was all said and done the color (bleach and then color) came to under $100! I really thought it was going to be more, but they were really fairly priced! I'll definitely be going back for touch-ups and maybe for other colors in the future! read more

I could've been writing a nice review but sorry, no. This place is a scam! I called in to ask about the shampoo + blowout service and specifically asked for the pricing and if it included curls. I was told yes, it's shampoo, blow drying, and styling -however you want to curl or style your hair all for whats on the website, $36. Well that seemed reasonable for me so I scheduled an appointment for the next day. I got charged 60 DOLLARS unknowingly claiming it was a "special occasion" and my stylist was a senior. Are you serious? when I called I was told $36 with no mention of different stylist pricing. Honestly they probably were making an excuse out of me taking my senior pictures. I shouldn't have even mentioned what my hair was for. I could've argued but I didn't want to ruin my day. Make sure to double check, triple check, pricings because they will charge you absurdly more for what you know! I can't believe I paid 60 dollars for what I could've done at home... INSANE. Plus, I was told by my stylist that my hair would look too curly when I left but it would loosen out to the waves I wanted -- well it stayed the same the whole night. read more

After a consultation for balayage, for my wedding, I made an appt with the owner for just prior to the big day, as recommended. The week before, the receptionist called and said I'd have to reschedule, as the owner needed to cover the front desk that day. Due to being away from internet service at that time, I wasn't able to look up my limited schedule (things get busy before a wedding!) until several days later, and told the receptionist I'd have to get back asap. She tried to pressure me into making another appt, "I'd hate to have you lose your spot" and was clearly irritated that I couldn't immediately do that. I told her when I'd be back, and that I'd call. After several further voice mails from her on the day I said I'd call, and one from the owner, I was able to get a free minute from work and call to try and reschedule. They were only able to offer me limited availability, none of which worked for my tight schedule. So I had to just cancel and scramble to find another salon in time. Overall, I just felt it was poor customer service to cancel on me for such an important appt, while being totally rude about my inability to coordinate a reschedule. I suspect the receptionist needed the day off and I was in her way. Could totally be wrong, tho. I just don't see why the attitude...so, I won't be back. I'm so happy I found this salon! My hair isn't exactly your typical variety style so it has been a little interesting finding someone who was a good fit. The style is not complicated, just a little odd. At other high end salons I had given up on, I was turned off by incompatibility with my personal style, horribly rushed work, and awful attitudes. I mean, I'm not asking anyone else to wear their hair like mine, just provide me good service reflective of the hundreds of dollars I am paying to maintain it. Bre Cyn was the salon I was looking for. On my first appointment I saw Deborah for a balayage color, long lob cut, and shaving up my mohawk. It had been some time since I'd had this done while I salon hunted, so she was pretty much starting from scratch. I really enjoyed her company, and she did a very good job. While she worked she even showed me new cool stuff I could try that I actually liked! I felt very valued and I was more than happy with her work! I don't recommend doing this but it's a good example of the salon's customer service. Life had gotten the better of me so I'd neglected my hair growing out but I needed a quick trim before a holiday. On a long shot I stopped in to see if I could get an appointment in the next couple of days. As it turns out, they would be closed, and were closing in about 15 minutes. But the receptionist checked with Melody and she stayed to trim me up real quick. She also did good work and yet again I was so happy to have come! I will definitely be back very soon! Unrelated to my own hair, I had noticed on both visits that all of the other clients there had beautiful vibrant color. Blondes especially as none of the blondes I saw looked over treated or flat. Update: Not even half an hour after I posted my review, Emily, the owner of the salon contacted me. I missed the call but she left a voicemail. She was very nice and made it clear that she wants every customer satisfied with their hair. I called her back the next day and was able to schedule another redo appointment with her. When I arrived, she began by asking me what my goal was. She explained a lot about balayage and said that I am not going to be as ashy as I want using this technique. She offered alternatives and suggestions for the next apportionment. I really appreciate that she explained the process and details to me. Emily brought the color up higher and my hair is definitely much closer to what I want now. I wear my hair up often so I'm glad the color is visible at the top of my head now. She definitely took her time and was very nice, professional, and easy to talk to. Last year, I decided I wanted to go blonde. Specifically, I wanted an ashy blonde balayage. I knew it would be a process because my hair is dark brown and long-- almost down to my butt. I went to a highly rated salon in Mill Creek, showed them photos, and began the journey towards an ashy blonde balayage. After the first appointment, my hair was understandably an orangey-caramel color. The second appointment at the same salon still left my hair orangey and splotchy. I was not satisfied and decided that next time I was going to color my hair it would be at a different salon. Fast forward seven/eight months, I decided to continue my journey towards an ashy blonde balayage at BreCyn. Unfortunately, I am not satisfied with it whatsoever and my search for a salon continues. My appointment was with Stephanie on April 14th. I told her I wanted an ashy blonde with as little warmth as possible because I just don't like warm tones in my hair. I also told her I wanted the color higher up so you could see it when I have my hair up. She worked on my hair for over three hours, and it was pretty, but not exactly what I was asking for. I paid $140 for the service, tipped $25, and spent $50-something on product. The majority of it was still very warm and a friend told me that she didn't even notice that I had it colored again. The top was still dark brown and the lighter color was not visible when it was up. I called BreCyn on Tuesday, April 18th and let them know that I was not completely satisfied with my hair. They were very nice and understanding and scheduled a "redo" appointment for the next day. Stephanie was nice about it and apologized for it not being exactly what I asked for and said she will bring it higher up. I again told her I want it ashy and as little warmth as possible. In total, she worked on my hair for an hour and 45 minutes. I felt like she was a bit rushed the whole time. When I called the day before, the girl told me she is setting the appointment length at 2.5 hours "just in case". She didn't offer to curl it at the end like she did the first time (even though there was 45 minutes left until my appointment was over) and it was still a little wet in the back when she started straightening it. My hair is somewhat wavy and the front pieces were still a little wavy because she really rushed through the straightening process. It is still not nearly as ashy as I want it, and there is still a lot of warm tones in it. As I said before, I totally understand that going from dark brown to ashy blonde is a process, and I had asked her in the beginning of the redo appointment if I'll need to schedule again to get it where I want it. She said "we'll see" but in the end never said anything about another appointment. I did not have to pay for the redo, which was nice of them, but after spending $215 there a few days prior I think that's fair. I will say that Stephanie was nice and wasn't super talkative which I actually like. All of the girls were nice and overall the customer service was good, but I am just not happy with my hair. read more

I have been coming to Brecyn Salon since I was 9 years old. Michelle is absolutely the best stylist I have ever come across. This salon is awesome because they offer amazing and on-trend hair color without a big price tag! This salon really values education because the stylists are always talking about the latest training they went to and how they can't wait to try out new color techniques. This is definitely a place that you can feel confident asking for an awesome ombre or perfectly blended foil: I've had just about every color hair can be, and Michelle has done it perfectly! This salon uses Redken color and also offers Smoothing treatments. My mom and I have been getting Smoothing treatments from Andrea and we love it! It totally transforms my frizzy, damaged hair into a more manageable coif. The place is always perfectly clean and inviting, and they have a pleasant waiting area with coffee and tea. The magazines are current too, which is a must! I wish that they had online booking, but at least the front desk staff is always fast and efficient on the phone. read more
