However Inside Edge organizes a group mountain bike ride EVERY Tuesday night in the summer months! Most of the Inside Edge staff participates and it is reassuring to know that if you break a chain or pop a tire, they can usually fix the bike and get you back on the trail! (I have seen them fix a broken chain in just a few minutes and we were back to biking in no time!!)

My father who is a mountain biker noticed that the bike he gave me had broken gears and the front tire was flat. The owner then rode it around the parking lot, didn't say anything, and gave me a new bike. Then, after a short bike ride, my boyfriend noticed the same thing was wrong with his bike, not going into gear. The owner clearly doesn't check his bikes, care about safety, or his customers. When we told him about the issues with the bikes, all he said was "ok." We only rented them here because it was so close to where we were staying in Lake George, but if we were renting them longer, we would have opted for a different place and I highly recommend you do the same. Not only will your patronage be a hassle, but you will be ripped off or hurt from their terrible bikes.

The second was when I went looking for upgrades to that same bike and was told that I wasn't fast enough or fit enough to be worthy of upgrades. In fact, they'd be wasted on me. Whether or not I'm "fast enough" should not determine whether I'm allowed to purchase upgrades for equipment I own and a sport I care about. The comment was dismissive and unprofessional. I reached out to Grey Ghost about my concerns and never received a response. If they had addressed the situation I wouldn't be so critical. Grey Ghost has a strong reputation locally for bike fits, based on my experiences I would question that reputation. These interactions left me feeling dismissed as a customer and doubtful of the quality of the fit I received and others are receiving as well. I regret the money I spent with them and would strongly encourage others to seek a second opinion before committing to a fit or major purchase from Grey Ghost.
