A recent incident has forced us to all to find a new dentist, so I'd like to share this story. There's lots to say, but in a nutshell I got a call at 3:28 saying I was late for a 3:15 appointment (which I understood to be for 3:30 and I live literally 3 minutes away). Thinking I may have made a mistake with the time, I appologized and told her I would be there within 5 minutes. Annoyed, she suggested I couldn't be a second more. She was rude with me on my arrival with my daughter at 3:34 and continued to treat me like garbage when I tried to explain myself. I was simply trying to explain that I was expecting a call but realized that now that the lockdown was off just a few days ago that maybe they weren't doing calls any more. She kept interrupting me as I tried to make this very simple statement and insisted that she called and finally had to reveal the fact that the appointment was for 3:30, not 3:15. It's only after being cornered on her flawed logic that she revealed that she was wrong, then appologized. This is why she was trying to avoid the conversation altogether, to cover up the lie that she seemed to be releshing in, 'dealing with yet another late patient with lame excuses'. When I made it clear that my daughter wouldn't proceed with the appointment and I was prepared to pay a cancellation fee if they required it, she said in a passive agressive tone that there would be no fee required and that she didn't understand why I wouldn't proceed with the appointment. If you make a mistake, admit it up front and appologize for any inconvenience. Don't try to hide behind that fact as you relish in your customer's discomfort with the situation, noone deserves to be treated in this way. Furthermore, don't stereotype your customers, treat them as individuals and give them the benefit of the doubt. The fact that I was treated as if I was severely inconveniencing someone for being a mere 4 minutes late for an appointment when I have been early for the past ~6 appointments is a pretty awful experience. Quite inconvenient too... Now I have to book more time off of work and book an appointment for my daughter elsewhere. What a waste of time... Tuesday, March 2, 2021

After reviewing dozens of dental clinics on-line, I chose Vimy Bridge Dental (Barrhaven) as my first choice for having teeth cleaning and all my dental work done. I chose Vimy Bridge Dental, simply due to the numerous glowing reviews found on their website. Now I believe that these reviews are either fake or they don't allow less than flattering reviews on their website. Even though I provided all of my dental insurance plan information well in advance to the front desk, my account wasn't set up and ready during my first appointment. After my initial appointment, I had to go back home and give the staff my insurance information a second time. While this dental clinic wasn't off to a good start, I gave them another chance. On my second visit Dr. Aghasi refused to do some dental work for me saying that it wasn't necessary. Dr. Aghasi's language was coarse as he refused to explain why he wouldn't do the work that I had requested. During my next visit, six months later, I found out from staff that Dr. Aghasi isn't trained to do the dental work that I needed done. My hygienist didn't give me a toothbrush after my teeth cleaning, saying that they had run out. I found Vimy Bridge Dental staff to be very unorganized and treated me just like I was a number. Therefore, because of my poor (unacceptable) experiences, I can't recommend this clinic to anyone.

At prior dentist's office, I found myself physically clenching as they cleaned my teeth. Last week, I went to Aqua Dental for a new client assessment and cleaning, and - dare I say it - I am ALMOST looking forward to my next appointment. My first impressions of Aqua Dental were how thorough and kind they were. They explained everything to me, and I learnt so many things. I came back home and found myself passing along my newfound knowledge to my husband. The biggest bonus of all, my teeth have never felt so clean! To this day, I'm still rubbing my tongue along my teeth in awe. The dentist who did my cleaning is a perfectionist in his trade. I wasn't shamed for any of my bad dental habits (not flossing, not wearing my retainer), which helps reduce my anxiety for future appointments. I'm SO glad that I switched to Aqua Dental! I hope to take advantage of their comfort menu during my next visit, which includes things such as massage chairs, heated towels, weighted blankets. Don't be deterred by their long wait. When I submitted my request last month to become a new client, my appointment couldn't be scheduled until August 2023(!!). Luckily I was able to snag a cancellation, and got appointments last week instead.

Other dentists have been a disaster. Dr. Walters had solutions to all of my problems and the training and technology to make it happen. When I needed to get cavities replaced he knew to shrink the nerve first before putting on a permanent filling. My previous dentist did not and I ended up with a root canal. Dr Walters had a simple modern appliance for my teeth grinding, my previous dentists wanted to sell me a complicated 'old' style appliance. As a result of all of my experience with Dr. Walters, he's the only dentist I've ever trusted 100%.
