Rustic luxury in the mountains!! This place has been amazing to stay at and the staff is absolutely fantastic. Each of their floor plans are just a little bit different depending upon what you're looking for. I'm staying in Blue Spruce 1 and it's a lovely and spacious retreat for a honeymoon or getaway from the city. Very cozy and beautiful. Look at my photos and you'll understand why. I feel conflicted about giving this place a 5 star review because I want it to be available whenever I want to go to there. One problem with this place is we only stayed one night. The other problem is that we failed to bring snacks and then realized we were hungry at 11 pm. They didn't even have an olive bar, I could not believe it. Ridiculous. You see that mini fridge? If I were smarter, I could have had so many snacks in there. Instead, I insisted we try to walk and find something down the street, because this is Colorado and at the very least there is some bar food nearby within walking distance. Not at 11 pm. Nothing open, no one on the streets maybe some mountain lions, at least the bears were hibernating. We ate lunch at the restaurant down the street recommended by the front desk. Murphys closes at 9 pm. Delicious, I owe them a five star review. Ordered conservatively for some reason, but should have had leftovers on the mind. There is a happy hour at 530 pm with beer and maybe even some food, but we were enjoying the amenities of our room too much. So, this is a public service announcement, I suggest you bring food if your dietary needs involve late night snacking. Otherwise when you realize everything is closed, you'll wish you said you wanted breakfast at 8 am instead of 10 am and then your boyfriend will be unable to wait, has to go down the street and then you have four breakfasts by then. I'm not a high maintenance princess type so I do not expect a robe. I definitely don't expect it to be that soft. Since it had to be that soft, I got the idea there were supposed to be matching slippers hiding somewhere. I never found them. We plan to return in the near future, and bring some snacks and slippers. I'll tell you how that goes. read more

My husband and I decided to drive down from Northern CO to Evergreen for a mini-babymoon. We decided pretty last minute, so Room C was our only option. It's an economy level room, but overall it was cozy and comfy. Highlights - the grounds are beautiful with a creek right outside. Also, the location is great! You can easily walk to everything in downtown Evergreen where there are plenty of great restaurants, shops, galleries etc. Other perks- it's a quick drive to awesome spots like the Tall Grass Spa (highly recommend!) and Lariat Brewing. Even during Covid, they deliver breakfast every morning (decent egg casserole both mornings) and Happy Hour drinks (for those who are drinking ) every evening between 5-6pm. My husband certainly enjoyed the complimentary breckenridge beers! Some downsides - the shower in our room was super small. If you're 7.5 months pregnant (like me when we stayed) you won't have an enjoyable showering experience. Also, the room came with zero closet space. The biggest downside for me was the noise. The walls here are VERY thin. Be prepared to hear your fellow guests talk, walk, cough, flush, shower, etc. Other things to note - quiet hours start nightly at 10pm because the haven is nestled in a neighborhood. The first night, we had obnoxious neighbors who blared music and were pretty inconsiderate. Overall - I would book another weekend away here again, but I would be sure to book far enough in advance to get a cabin room or better yet, the tree house. Enjoy! read more

If you want a peaceful getaway in a wood like setting this is your place. The rooms are nicely decorated. They have happy hour daily from 5-6pm which offers cookies and free drinks. Their breakfast is included and comes hot and is really good with fresh fruits and pastry and hot dishes such as quiche or waffles etc. make sure you ask for beverages the night before ;) Very friendly staff. I have stayed in 5-star hotels all over the world. This magical place should have 6. I booked this via Expedia for me and my lady over Mother's day weekend to see a show at Red Rocks. From that listing it looked great and was reasonably priced. I had no idea what we were in for... This is truly a haven in every sense of the work - with everything from romantic atmosphere, to the mountain luxury detail, to the incredibly wonderful staff, to celebrations of love everythwere you look. It's just next-level. My girlfriend and I commented on how it felt we were at a luxury body and soul retreat - but at a great price! The room and bed were wonderful. My only nitpick was that the ceiling-mounted rainfall showerhead was in the middle of the small shower which made it a bit cramped. But that's it! The breakfast was wonderful. The happy hour was truly an unexpected surprise. And the sitting and game rooms were cozy and perfectly decorated. And there were even free, freshly cut tulips for the moms! THEN when I told the desk staff that we were headed to a show, they gave us loaner folding seats!! It was just wall-to-wall love. Amazing. I could go on - but you get the gist. There is NOTHING that these wonderful folks haven't thought of. The staff should be commended for getting every detail exactly right. This place should have a waiting list a year long! My wife and I stayed here and absolutely loved it. We both have lived in Evergreen our whole lives and never stayed here or gave it much of a thought honestly. But we booked here for the night of our wedding and wish we could have done longer! The bedding was so luxurious, we appreciated the space for storing luggage, and the bathroom was so pretty. Also the staff was very accommodating when it came to our particular check-in needs. And we were so pleased with the breakfast the next morning. The space was so much more than my wife was expecting even though we booked one of the smaller rooms. It felt welcoming loved and very clean! Coming from up here we are used to old creaky wood floors so it didn't bother us much, but others might dislike that part of the stay. But old mountain charm can't be beat. We loved our stay and definitely would recommend to friends and family. read more

We booked a room for one very special night. The weather was snowing that evening. They upgraded us to Blue Spruce Deuce with their compliments. When we arrived they opened the office doors before we entered with a warm and friendly greeting. We had rose petals on the bed and floor to celebrate our special day together. The suite was absolutely awesome. The customer service was above and beyond. We enjoyed a complimentary happy hour glass of wine with our arrival by a fireplace to warm up. We purchased a variety of lovely items from the gift shop. We took advantage of the extra late check out time for an additional 50 bucks. Well worth it in our opinion. They left us a custom made 2/22/22, T&J inscribed wood piece of artwork. I think the prices are fair. Kind of expensive, but match the great customer service and location of this establishment. Our room had a fireplace, hot tub bath, lounge chairs, and lots of beautiful artwork. I really think the staff is the best feature of this business. The breakfast delivery in the morning was absolutely phenomenal. This location is extremely magical with the owners, staff, and surrounding magical elements. Our second visit. Love it that much! Incredible venue for anything from a couples getaway to a family event (Wedding Party while we were there). Short walk into town is very convenient. Not far from Red Rocks. We saw Mark Knopfler one night. Found a driver to pick up and drop us back. Couldn't have been easier. Morning breakfast is healthy and awesome. Home cooked offerings and changes daily. Homemade cookies and coffee offered throughout the day and Happy Hour wine event gives you plenty of time to meet the other guests from all over the country. Heavenly Haven must screen their guests because we always find interesting people to talk with and share stories about traveling. And the Staff! Awesome! In place of beach vacation this year, husband and I spent an extended weekend at Highland Haven and it was perfect! We were in Blue Spruce 2 and it was clean, spacious, romantic, wonderful all around. Spent days and evenings in front of the fireplace. Many nice places to eat within walking distance. Wife and I stayed here for our baby moon, booked the hillside room which featured a hot tub inside. Everything about this place is done well. They had champagne waiting for us, cheese/meat board in the fridge, and the hot tub nice and hot. We woke up and they delivered breakfast to our door. You can walk to a farmers market on the corner, a couple really close restaurants and there's a river to relax by just out front with comfortable seating. I'm not really sure if there's any way this could've been a better stay for us. Staff was great as well. We'll be back!! read more

Absolutely wonderful!! We booked the Gardener's Cottage for one night during a road trip. We could have stayed for so much longer. The room was romantic yet comfortable. Fireplace, comfy chairs, great bathroom, and one of the best beds on a 10 day vacation. I can't think of anything we needed that wasn't already provided in the room, other than liquid creamer for the coffee. I wish we had time to explore the area but hopefully we will get back there again. All of the staff that we met we great. Very peaceful and beautiful. read more

Seriously was wowed by this little gem for a staycation. Me and the husband are forever looking to explore our own state and this did not disappoint. Everything was amazing here and I'm surprised more photos aren't here présent of the treehouse space. I highly recommend this for couples just looking to reconnect and relax. We happened to do this for my birthday this year and the phone service was non existent which is unusual for the area. The service here is exceptional even before you come out here, staff is communicating with you via text and phone calls which we really appreciated. The details and thought that went into the place is evident and I can't think of finding it at bigger commercialized businesses. You can feel the owners vision for this place as it's obvious they made it their priority to make this a spot for celebrating love . Upon walking I. All I can say is "Wow!" My wife and stayed here last night to celebrate our first anniversary, and it did not disappoint! This charming little Inn is tucked away just off the main road that goes through the heart of Evergreen. It has a wonderful view of the creek that runs right out front of the Inn, and they have a neat little bridge that goes over the creek. The cozy little cottages are warm and inviting, complete with rustic touches to complete the mountain cabin feel. We stayed in the Blue Spruce cottage, and it had a wonderful little reading room, kitchen, large bathroom, and secluded back patio. They offered a nice breakfast in the morning, which was included with the price. The staff was also warm and friendly. We will definitely return and I will be sure to purchase a cottage for family members for special occasions in the future! read more

Based on what we'd heard about this place from friends, we decided to celebrate our anniversary here. Not disappointed at all! It's an older property, current owners have had it for over 40 years, but don't let the age of the place dissuade you - they've done a brilliant job of keeping it updated. All the fixtures in our cabin were new and beautiful. The cabin was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. They warmly welcomed our two pups and charged only a very reasonable pet fee. The staff are responsive and gracious, the breakfast is light but delicious. The property is extremely well-kept with beautiful old trees and lots of resident wildlife. We received a gift certificate from our daughter and husband for this place. Honestly, probably wouldn't have come here without it because it's definitely more expensive than any other B&B's we've been to. However, because of where we stayed (Blue Spruce #1), and the amenities within, I can see why they could charge a little more. Our cottage was beautiful- it felt like the most private one because of where it was located. Inside, besides a comfortable and CLEAN bedroom, they have a massive bathroom with a wonderful jacuzzi tub that only fits one person but I was only too happy to avail myself of that with my book! It also has a sitting area with super comfy chairs and a fireplace as well as a small patio off the back. The front had a nice porch where one could also sit. There's a desk area and a small kitchenette with a microwave and fridge. They really did include all the amenities you could ask for. A sweet and friendly receptionist, Megan, welcomed us with freshly baked oatmeal raisin cookies and a tour of the dining room and gift shop. She also gave us great restaurant recommendations and made a dinner reservation for us. Breakfast included fresh fruit, fresh pastries and made to order pancakes or waffles. They had different stratas both days which, to me, were just average. They were a bit on the cooler side temperature wise but clearly we had no problem consuming them! There was also yogurt and dry cereal available. Staff at breakfast were all so very warm and friendly! We liked that this place was within walking distance to Main Street where we went one night to Little Bear to hear a great band (the Lauren Michaels band). This TreeHouse was made for romance! That's why my husband and I chose it for our wedding anniversary. When we arrived, we were offered an assortment of wines at Happy Hour, and warm gooey cookies. We took them back to the TreeHouse to explore our new digs. There was soft music playing, champagne on ice, and fresh flowers throughout. There was artwork everywhere: Whimsical treehouse paintings and photographs adorned the walls, antique stained glass hung from windows, and every nook and cranny of the space held something charming, quaint, cutesy, or I daresay "magical". We continued to find little, hidden pieces of art and endearing touches right up until the moment we left. The lush bed is as beautiful as it shows in the photos on their website, and crowned with the stunning (and even SPOTLESS) crystal chandelier, it's quite a site to behold. There is a two-person jetted tub on the top floor, surrounded by views of the forest. This was probably our favorite part of the stay! There is artwork all throughout the grounds... it blends in so well, that some of the art we didn't notice until night, standing from our balcony, and overlooking the courtyard where subtle lighting highlighted the things we missed during the day. In the morning, we ate breakfast outside because it was a beautiful day, but they offer breakfast in bed, if you desire. The breakfast was hot and tasty, and the coffee delicious. The staff was amazing, from check-in to check-out, making sure we had everything we needed, including dinner recommendations. (We ate in the Historic Downtown Evergreen, which is only a five minute walk from this property.) The owner was very kind and we chatted her up about her landscaping, and she was thoughtful enough to give us some clippings from a vine that we are trying to grow at our house! I liked seeing that the owners were entrenched in keeping the property beautiful. Love is in the details, and this TreeHouse and entire property were clearly made with a lot of love. read more

We made the decision to come to see Tom Petty at Red Rocks last December and had planned to stay at a Bed & Breakfast in Morrison, but by the time I got around to booking the room we wanted, it was taken. I'm so glad it was! This "misfortune" led us to the Highland Haven Creekside Inn. What a treasure! From the moment we walked through the front door to check in, we were made to feel so welcome. And, our accommodations...WOW! We stayed in the Tree House and every day of our stay I found a new treasure that I had noticed before. Such wonderful attention to detail and such a warm, beautiful space. Breakfast each morning was delicious and we so appreciated the recommendations we received from owner Gail on hikes to take and other things to do, see and eat in the area. And, of course, we can't forget Desi, the canine member of the Highland Haven team who wandered from table to table during breakfast checking on each guest. What a love bug! An already incredible stay was made even more special by the dragonfly sculpture on the lawn right outside our front door. I lost my Mom this year and dragonflies were her favorite, so whenever I see one I know that she isn't far away. The rooms are newly renovated!! Our Creekside Cabin room had a luxurious shower, a mini kitchen area, a TV, fireplace, the most comfortable bed EVER, and chairs to lounge in! Everything was surely perfect. We woke up to Elk grazing the area and one of the greatest breakfasts you could ever imagine having. I filled my plate with so much delicious food and had yummy coffee. Being in the mountains is the perfect place to be! The Highland Haven provides exceptional service, provides wonderful and spacious rooms, and a breakfast you'll want to eat all day long! We reserved the entire Highland Haven Creekside Inn for friends and family attending our daughter's wedding. The rooms and cabins are beautifully decorated and equipped with everything you could possibly need for wedding preparations. The grounds are also impeccable: beautiful grassy areas, gathering Adirondack chairs and picnic tables, lovely stream and fun wildlife (a fox and elk visited us!). The breakfasts, delivered to the room, are abundant and delicious. The staff at the Inn are incredible to work with. Absolutely loved this place! Only got to spend one night, but it was wonderful. Walking distance to the main strip in Evergreen. They had a complimentary happy hour with good beers and wine, and a complimentary breakfast that was delicious. Their staff was very friendly and helpful. Only downfall would be very very thin walls. I understand this is out of the hotels control, but we had a man staying in the cabin next to us that was up all night singing, making phone loud calls and pacing back in forth in his room. Thinking he was under the influence of something. It was an uncomfortable situation because we could hear everything he was doing / saying and didn't sleep all night because of it. read more

This B&B might be intended for couples' romantic getaway, but we stopped here for a night with our toddler (en route to Breck) and it was fantastic! We stayed in a cottage (Creekside 2), and it was one open room with a small kitchenette and seating area. The mini fridge and microwave came in so handy. While we were there (less than 24 hrs), we walked over to the downtown area, stopped in at the lobby area for their happy hour at 5 PM, and ate their DELICIOUS free breakfast in the morning. Their were only couples there, but everyone (staff and guests) were so lovely to our little one. And best of all, the staff was so extremely friendly and helpful. We had a really great experience, and if we ever make our way to Evergreen again, we'll only stay at Highland Haven. read more

At first glance, you would barely notice the Highland Haven, a quaint motel turned B&B tucked just behind the downtown main street area in Evergreen. But, if you look just past a small grove of spruce trees, a babbling brook and its corresponding footbridge, you'll discover a great treasure. If you stay, you will definitely leave a more relaxed version of yourself. My husband and I stayed in the Treehouse for New Year's Eve. The treehouse is an actual 2 story, 850 square foot room built upon redwood stilts and crafted lovingly by the owner (It's a husband and wife team.) and his son-in-law. The first floor is living space and the second houses a hot tub. As you soak in the craftsmanship of the room, you can feel the love that was poured into it. The Treehouse exceeded our wildest dreams! Not only was every last detail tended to in decor (There are so many cute touches such as animal paw prints embedded in the tiles, a stuffed owl in the rafters on the top floor, nightstands made from actual aspen trees, etc. (I won't mention any more as not to spoil the surprise!).) but also in comfort (The bed was like sleeping on a cloud!) and romance (The hot tub on the second story is incredible, and went well with the flameless candles, roses, champagne and chocolates provided). The hospitality was incredible, from the phone call we received before our visit, to the champagne and chocolate covered strawberries offered at reception, to the dinner recommendations, to the gifts in our room and the delectable breakfast spread (potatoes, bacon, asparagus, fruits and pastries galore)! A quote that greeted us in our room read "Genuine hospitality cannot be described, but it is immediately felt." I would say this sums the Highland Haven up nicely. My only complaint about the Highland Haven is that we had to leave! Although am extended checkout was offered to all New Year's Eve guests, we certainly could have stayed longer! Tip: Be sure to leave an entry in your room or cottage's guestbook, and read a few of the romantic entries (Many proposals, anniversaries and happy times are recorded that will warm your heart). Tip: Pricing, while worth it, is a bit steep; shoot for an off-night/season if it fits with your schedule. read more

Loved, loved, LOVED this place!!! First off, the setting of this place was quite enchanting and loved the sounds of the creek running in front of our Creekside Cottage. The room was a bit tight as noted in other reviews the shower was tiny and we didn't have closet to put our clothes in or a place to put our large suitcase away, but quite honestly I didn't even mind because everything else totally blew my mind. This was happy place, from the overall charming and quaint setting in the woods. Pulling up we saw couples sitting in chairs in front of the stream sipping wine. It was a short walk downtown to all the stores, which was nice and a hop in the car to walk the 1.5 mile loop around the lake with breathtaking mountain views. The breakfast was AMAZING and homemade. I felt right at home with the resident dog napping or greeting you when you walked in. One day during our stay they forgot to replenish our towels (no big deal really) and when we asked them for new towels, they were super apologetic and my husband and I returned to our room after a show at Red Rocks amphitheater to find a handwritten note with their apologies and 2 cold Fat Tire beers waiting for us in a tub of ice that were "on the house". Now, if that isn't amazing customer service, I don't know what is????? I would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants a cozy, quiet getaway in a beautiful nature setting. I hope I am fortunate enough to return to the beautiful state of CO and if I'm ever near Evergreen, I would most definitely return to the Highland Haven Creekside Inn. My wife and I spent our fourth anniversary in The Treehouse. Completely remarkable. Believe me - it is worth every hard earned dollar. Places like this are not easily compared. The service and hospitality are by far incredibly unmatched. We felt like we were treated as if we were guests of honor in a secret kingdom of wonder. It was magical, it was peacefully enchanting, it was like a fly away to each other - soaring through a romantic dream of discovery adventure. Every absolute minute in the Treehouse ushered us into the courts of gladness and refreshed memories of all the beautiful blessings we have experienced as a couple, and at the same time -writing precious new ones. This was our second visit to Highland Haven for a quick little getaway. We have stayed in the Treehouse previously and this time Hillside 2. Hillside 2 had a large hot tub, 2 BR's ample sitting room with a gas fireplace, small kitchen and beautiful bathroom. In fact, the floors were heated as well to about 82 degrees. Great feature! The breakfast is always a delight in the morning; strata, sausage, fresh fruit, pancakes or waffles, delicious coffee. Anything you'd like! Wine in the afternoon is perfect for sitting in one of the aderondak chairs in front of the roaring creek. Simply lovely. I also had the pleasure of meeting Gail, one of the owners - she is super friendly and I loved talking to her during breakfast before heading home. Love, love, loved our stay at the Highland Haven. It was our first stop on our across country trip, and I am so happy to say we were not disappointed. We stayed in suite #7 which was a 2 bedroom suite with a tv, wet bar that included coffee maker/coffee supplies, working sink, microwave and mini frig. The grounds and staff were top notch! Our room was a little dated, but the beauty of the property and just the overall vibe relaxed me instantly.. They have a complimentary happy hour with beer and wine, and also a complimentary breakfast that was fantastic! Fruit, cereal, bagels, bacon/egg casserole, potatoes, and apple turnovers and blintz's that were fresh and homemade... This apple turnovers, were the best I have ever had and will be thinking of them for some time! We loved this place, we loved the people, and we loved the fact that you could walk into town where there are tons of restaurants, coffee shops and some really cute shops to browse Thank you for a wonderful stay! Great spot! Beautiful setting. Nice folks running the place. Great for personal getaway or small corporate retreat. They also have a really beautiful "tree house" guest room. Have been here twice for small work-related retreats. read more

The grounds and room (we chose Blue Spruce Cottage 1) were absolutely stunning, and we were so excited for our stay. It looked like a romantic haven indeed. However, our unit it wasn't an actual cottage with a "private feel" as the website explained... it was a duplex with a shared wall where we could hear literally everything our neighbors in Blue Spruce 2 were doing. We wanted to come up out of the city for actual peace and quiet. If you're shelling out almost $400 a night, that's what you should be able to expect. We even wanted to try and put on some music or a show in the background, and the WiFi was too slow and nothing would load. If peace and quiet is what you're after, this probably isn't the inn for you. I left very disappointed. :( read more

This is a great place - I could not find a decent hotel in Denver so I booked this place and took a shot. I was completely impressed. It's not a far drive from Denver, so much quieter and wonderful grounds, higher in elevation and in the pine. Easy to get work done here or join a conference call. Great rooms and cottages. Would definitely stay here again. The breakfast was really good, great flavors and excellent staff. Even if you have to do a bit of work - you can do it from the side of a creek on a comfy chair with wifi. The town is within walking distance so at the end of a day of meetings it great to go for a walk and have a couple beers. read more
