A beautiful venue for any special occasion! I was a bridesmaid for my friend and she was getting married here. She coordinated with the venue so I'm not quite sure how that all worked out. But I will speak about the venue itself. When you first get there, it's a gravel or dirt parking lot. Very large so plenty of space for guests. When you first walk in it's a large barn door that leads to an open floor. My friend had circle tables on either side that led to a walkway and the dance floor. The grooms suite is up the stairs, kind of like a little attic/loft. The bridal suite was downstairs, way bigger room with great lighting, plenty of mirrors, and a bathroom. Downstairs is where they held the bar area, very spacious I thought. No sitting but plenty of bar tables so people could stand. They also have an upstairs loft over the dance floor, where we took photos. Overall, I think the venue is beautiful and if you're looking for that rustic barn theme, then this is it! read more

Driving up was a white knuckle experience on a winding one lane in each direction road. If it hadn't been for Waze I would have thought it was a highway department equipment yard. Black gravel (old milled asphalt?) covered the ground and gave every exterior photo a post-devastation look (think burned out landscape). Puddles everywhere from recent rain which probably kept the dust down. Inside was very rustic with stained glass windows clashing with corny home spun sayings on old tin signs, pick a lane; full on cow crib or country church. One bathroom for guests second one was for bridal party, think end of the half at a Bronco's game. Doors were not opened so even though it was only 75 degrees outside body heat and the humidity made the interior miserable, the upper floor was a sauna, this is where you seat the guests you don't like. I had better mountain views from my downtown Denver hotel room and with nightfall the gas station up the road was clearly visible and all lit up. Plus side was that after the drive up I wasn't drinking as I knew I had a challenging downhill ride in the dark to look forward to. The least picturesque, convenient and comfortable barn wedding I've been to. read more

LOVE THIS VENUE! I recently got married at the Barn in September 2020. We had picked this venue long before Covid hit and we couldn't have been happier with our choice. Not only were they absolutely amazing to work with pre-Covid, they were amazing during Covid. Weddings are already stressful enough, but when you add a pandemic to the mix - it makes things even more stressful. Amy and her team went above and beyond to give us the wedding we originally envisioned. They were so great about answering all of our questions in a timely matter and keeping us up to date with the Covid restrictions (at the time.) My family and friends absolutely LOVED the venue... they didn't stop talking about it all night. We picked this venue because we knew we wouldn't have to add much of our own decorations and we could also bring in any vendor we wanted. This was the first and only venue we ever looked at! Gorgeous venue. Kinda weird to have a cemetery right outside of a wedding.. even weirder to have a pet cemetery to the left of a wedding.... but it makes it even more unique. The white buffalo are amazing. The ducks are super quacky, the farmhouse chic interior is right up my alley. I love that they collect artifacts from around old Colorado places to incorporate them in the ambiance. Giant stained glass windows are incredible. It's definitely a treat for all the senses. I don't know what else they do here besides it being a wedding venue, since that's what I attended but it's absolutely perfect for all kinds of events. Maybe even a funeral, especially since it's so conveniently located..... I would totally love to host a event here. A pain I the A to drive to from Denver, only because it feels like you're going to the other side of the earth when you start going through the forest type thing but that makes it even more memorable. You drive along and are like "where the hell am I?!?! Is someone going to jump out from behind the trees and kill me? Well at least my ultimate goal was a cemetery locale.... I'll just enjoy the beauty of this amazing nature before I either make it to the (event) or at least I can be buried near all of this beauty!" read more

The Barn at Evergreen Memorial Park - Venues & Event Spaces Near Me - Evergreen, Colorado

So this should really be 4 stars but I gave it 5 to try and even out some of the incredibly ludicrous 1 star reviews below which I will explain later. First off, I got married here last week and the venue is gorgeous. It is pricey but of my 80 person wedding, at least 30 approached me specifically to talk about how gorgeous it was. You won't find anything like it anywhere really. They have six 10 foot stained glass windows that blew people away. The outdoor surrounding area is stunning. The staff I worked with was kind and knowledgeable throughout. When we had some miscommunication about policies, the staff gave me the policy in my favor due to it. Now this space is for DIY brides and grooms or those willing to hire a good coordinator. When booking the venue, the staff is very clear on charges and what you receive. You receive the space, the use of the sound system inside and set up of tables and chairs. That's it for the venue charge but other options are offered at varying prices including cleaning and outdoor sound systems. No one is ever told otherwise and the brochure you receive is crystal clear on the matter. My tables and chairs were set up by staff at 12:30 for my 5:30 wedding. All other vendors are up to the bride and groom. Linens, coordinators, bartenders, caterers are all from the outside and not the responsibility of the barn but instead really that of the couple getting married. As for the bad reviews, if there is one bartender for 100 people, that's because that's what the couple individually was willing to pay for through an outside company. Also, clean up is not included as very clearly stated but can be added for a fee. Apparently couples save money by asking their guests to do it for them. Not the barn's fault. Food not set up? That's on the caterer and couple to decide how much time is needed to set up properly for the guests and has nothing to do with this venue. Giving a bad review on a place without knowing anything about the situation you're in is irresponsible in any sense and it is in these reviews. As someone who used to have to respond to completely ignorant and unfair reviews, this is a huge pet peeve of mine. Another bad review talks about how this is actually a graveyard. It is. It's called The Barn at Evergreen MEMORIAL Park. It is slightly off to the side of the barn and not intimidating at all. For me, it in no way distracted from my event and we knew it was there due to it being pretty clear by the name. Lacking the vocabulary of a 5th grader does not entitle you to leave the lowest review possible. Funeral services are posted on every page I've seen affiliated with the barn, including this one. In short, this venue will not come cheap but will be what you make of it. Having basic organizational skills will be vital to a successful event and I can not really stress that part enough. However, you will get a one of a kind venue with a view of water and mountains, roaming livestock, and a completely competent staff from the actual barn. My husband and I got married at the Barn in May, 2021 and we are so happy with our decision! We actually needed to reschedule our wedding due to the pandemic, and our original venue had closed. The folks at the Barn were more than happy to let us keep all of our original vendors including our food trucks and were very accommodating. For example, we wanted to include a scotch tasting in our reception and this venue worked with us and our bartender to make sure we could have this feature in a way that thrilled our guests and also kept everyone happy and safe. It is helpful to note that they allow you to purchase your own alcohol, which saves you a lot, although they do ask that the bar closes an hour and forty-five minutes before your event ends. They also allowed our florist to place flower crowns on the indoor animal heads to make them more festive! They were responsive, very clear in their contract, and seemed to coordinate well with our planner. They have excellent space for both bride and groom to get ready, and even though we were planning for an outdoor ceremony, when it started pouring rain, they had a beautiful indoor space for us to use. I would definitely recommend this venue for the space, the beautiful backdrop, the ease of communication, the price, and the variety of options you have for your special event. read more

DO NOT GET MARRIED HERE!!!!!!! I can't express to how horrible the experience was. We changed wedding venues early on during our engagement for a more lax company and experience mostly for the ability to choose our own vendors. This definitely seemed like the place. As soon as we signed the contract the customer service went out the window! Issue One: I got a call the week of my wedding (Monday and we married on Saturday) the team didn't even get my name right. They called me Taylor instead of Kayla. She left me a message stating they didn't have any of my vendors info for the wedding when in fact my wedding planner contacted them via email (their preferred contact method) with all the info months before the date! They claimed they never received any communication which blows my mind because she used the same email address they communicated to me on several occasions. Despite this issue my amazing wedding planner Jen with JM Events was able to get everything fixed including the contracts that they make your vendors sign saying they are now employees of the venue! Issue Two: My best friends brewed beer for us for the wedding, which we mentioned was going to be done when we viewed the venue and signed the contract. Not until the week of did they mention that kegs were not allowed upstairs. We went ahead and rolled with the issue and were ready to put it all downstairs. When my friends arrived (ten minutes prior to our time block) an individual employed by the barn ran out, didn't introduce himself, and started raising his voice telling them they were not allowed to put beer upstairs, no alcohol permitted in bridal and grooms suite (even after I was told that was okay if we paid for a bar tender to be there at 3 so alcohol could be served.) and that they were too early to start setting up. Issue Three: We were told that the wedding tables and chairs would be assembled prior to our arrival at 3 pm so that we could immediately begin set up of decor. However, this was a lie because my groom spent a half hour with his groomsmen assembling chairs in the heat for the service so the wedding could start on time at 4! Issue Four: In the contract they tell you video surveillance will be at all times to ensure safety of the guests and integrity of the venue. What they don't tell you is that the kids of the manager will be at your wedding wearing inappropriate clothing, eating your food without permission, sitting in a back room with a door open, watching cameras for all guests to see like big brother! Issue Five: The children of the manager again dressed inappropriately for a wedding, strong armed my catering team and made them go upstairs and start cleaning prior to our scheduled ending time. They made my guests physically get up out of chairs and move so they could fold up chairs and tables! * I spoke with the go to employee that was on staff for our wedding on behalf of the Barn and she told me this happens ALL the time. That the venue would do this brides and grooms and then claim that they were within contract! Not true! My father is a lawyer and we reviewed the contract which did not entail the actions of the team there on wedding day! I scheduled a time to call the Barn with the owner and manager to voice my issues and concerns with the events of the wedding day. The owner sat silently on the phone while the manager and I talked and it was excuse after excuse on why they did this or that! Honestly, the only positive of the venue was that it was absolutely beautiful. The only reason they got 2 stars was due to the beauty of the grounds and the ability to bring in our own vendors. I wish I could say the headache was worth it! Our day would have been absolutely perfect had it not been for this nightmare team behind the Barn at Evergreen. read more

We had our daughter's wedding at The Barn a little over a month ago, and while it is a beautiful and picturesque location, we had a HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. We showed up the morning of the wedding all excited to decorate to find that NONE of the tables and chairs were set up and there wasn't any staff there to even do the set up. The rental fee is for the use of The Barn including the tables and chairs BEING SET UP by the Barn staff PRIOR to your paid rental period (per your pre-approved floor plan). This is clearly stated in the contract (in bold letters, although they did not bother to fulfill this important part of the contract. Luckily we had 20+ friends and family that showed up to help us, SINCE WE HAD TO DO THE TABLE AND CHAIR SET UP OURSELVES before we could even start decorating! We could never have gotten the venue set up and decorated the way we wanted it without the help of all these extra people! This of course would not have even been an issue had the Barn staff done their job! The SET UP FIASCO turned what should have been the start of a wonderful, happy day into several hours of stress and tears! Instead of spending time with my daughter while she got her hair and make up done, I (along with our family & friends) had to do the Barn staff's job which took up a huge chunk of our allotted decorating time! It was so chaotic, that at one point the Barn's representative told us they had "lost the sweetheart table" where the bride and groom were supposed to sit, and that they were going to have to contact Evergreen Rentals to try to get another one. OMG! They caused so much unnecessary stress for me! During the reception, the on-site staff was NO WHERE to be found! Our guests had to empty trash cans and put in fresh bags even though we were assured that the trash would be taken care of by the Barn staff. In reviewing our concerns, we were told by the Barn's Board that while the night staff person could not be seen anywhere on any of the surveillance videos during the entire evening, they were sure that he must have been "in the office, but available". (what?) The night staff person did magically appear at clean up time, and was rude to our family and friends ordering them around and insisting they stack and load all the tables and chairs onto the racks he pulled out, which WAS NOT part of our contractual responsibility! I don't understand why a family owned business would hire someone like this, it does not reflect well on them at all. After all the hoops The Barn made us jump through for 10 months (including providing our finalized floor plan 3 weeks prior to the wedding), they DID NOT DO what they were supposed to do. We have lived in Evergreen for 22 years and love our community, but sadly CAN NOT RECOMMEND this local venue! read more

I saw that my Mother's grave had been run over by a tractor or such, with the big tracks in the mud, that partially carved up her grave. And her headstone had been dug up and moved over to the side, off her grave! There were 4-5 more graves that had been run over too, and one had a shovel standing in it! I was mortified. Met with the 92 yr old owner, Ron Lewis and he started blaming all the rain we've had. I said your workers could have come over here, where there are no graves and cut over. Or how about "in roads/paths" from the main entrance road? He said "then it would be all paths!" Then he got angry and indiginent and said "was he supposed to get a helicopter?" I asked was this ok in his mind to run over graves and not even restore them? He said no, but what else could he do? He said "Ask God". I told him God had nothing to do with it, it was about him and his employees! I asked him to restore my Mother's and the poor others who had no voice and he said "no!" That was Monday and he said " all his caretakers were out sick." Right? Asked him to call me when he was going to get it restored and as of today, 2 days later, no call or return call from him! Called the office and spoke with Tim, the Funeral Director, he had no idea of this (good ole Ron Lewis had not told him, obviously) and he said he would get it done this week and call me back. He actually had some empathy and professionalism! Ole Ron had no empathy or caring about him, at all. He was irate and totally rude. If you bury your loved ones there, no that they can run over them with a large tractor and not care about even restoring it to it's original condition, when you paid a hefty price for it. I feel sorry for the loved ones that have no one to check on their graves for them! Let's hope Tim will take care of this this week! read more

I hardly think I wasn't being understanding for someone being sick. In fact, I believe it was the opposite. I didn't drive from Denver as Amanda had the luxury of doing, rather I spent $350/ticket (bought 2) to fly in to "specifically" see the barn. She is right about the website but I had no problem getting married in a cemetery, it was the awful people I had a problem with. Maybe if I'd dealt with the owners it would have been a better experience. Devil's Thumb worked out awesome though (I will be posting pics of the wedding venue soon on their yelp page if you want to check it out). PROS: Its a beautiful venue. Our wedding was gorgeous. And we had an amazing night. You can work with outside vendors which saves money. Rustic and unique. It was the best day of our lives, so it's hard to not call our experience a "Pro" :) CONS: They emailed us an invoice of $3,883 after our wedding claiming that someone's shoes caused damage to their barn floors - which are made of pine. We luckily had insurance that investigated and denied their claim. The Barn still pursued us even after the insurance company found no fault to us. It was a pretty stressful way to start our new life together as husband and wife. Especially after we just paid for a wedding - a 4K bill was not something we would have expected. When we told the insurance company what they accused us of they were floored (no pun intended:) If a $4K bill doesn't do it for you, here are a few more things to consider... It was a hot day and there was no air conditioning in the barn, but it was ok after it cooled down at night. The finishes are rough - carpet was dingy in the bridal room. Their cemetery is right out front, which is sort of weird and limited pictures outside a bit. The owner was rude, the staff wouldn't return calls. Overall they just weren't very friendly - there was almost a vibe of having a party at someone's parents house while they were out of town or something. Just not very welcoming on the best day of our lives. Overall the customer service was pretty poor and unprofessional. I would keep looking around if you are shopping for the perfect venue. read more

I will forever hold a special place in my heart for the Barn as it was my wedding venue. TLDR: Great venue for a wedding, but there is still room to improve. The bad: If you're going for a budget location, keep looking. I knew this coming in, but I still felt nickled and dimed for every little thing. In the Barn's defense, they spell those charges out. It's just a shock to look at the final charges and see trash bags billed. Again you'll know this going in. If you're looking for an easy wedding venue keep looking for that all-inclusive place. When you rent the Barn all you get is 8-12 hours of a really good location and some help in planning where to put tables. You're going to need to make 1000 or more decisions on what type of flowers in what vases going on what tables with what colored tablecloths next to what shaped silverware with what songs playing while people dance under what lights. That's just the beginning ye brave, soon-to-be married souls. Don't let this scare you off (see the four stars above), but just remember all the extra decisions that are coming. Talking with three other couples/friends who got married summer 2013, they had fewer decisions to make because of where they got married. Having only done the whole wedding thing once, I did keep thinking, "It's got to be easier than this to book a place." Maybe I'm used to buying plane tickets of off kayak or hotels off of airbnb, but reserving, paying, and confirming details seemed like it could have used a little work. If you're really superstitious, there is a cemetery next door. Big deal. It caused zero problems. Just be respectful. The Good: Just about every guest loved it here. There are lots of spots for some fun photos and potential for great sunsets. When lit up at night the barn really comes alive. Take some time to walk outside at one point and look at the stained glass alight with the merry making inside. There are bison and elk near by. How Colorado, huh? During our ceremony an elk even bugled. You're not going to get that many other places. The views are good, just don't expect the Maroon Bells. Our of-town-guests were bowled over, but Colorado residents seem to be inured to anything but the most jaw dropping of views. Our wedding was 115 or so and everyone fit just fine. No worries there. The Barn says they fit up to 150. Since it is so spartan inside there is a lot of potential for more creative types to work their magic. The Barn looks good as is, but give it some love and it will reward you. read more

This was the first venue we visited and we fell in love and didn't visit any other venues. The property is beautiful and all of our guests were absolutely in awe of the picturesque surroundings, the wildlife and the beautiful and unique inside. The stained Glass and rustic wood interior make for some beautiful photographs. We also loved the fact that we could use our own food vendors and alcohol vendors. That saved us a ton of money and let us have the freedom to choose and customize our day to our needs. The staff was always responsive and helped my planner with floor plans and other details. I couldn't recommend this venue enough to anyone wanting to have a real "Colorado Wedding"! read more

In my opinion, there isn't a more gorgeous place in the Denver area to get married. We loved the rustic feel, stained glass windows and lights inside the barn. Our guests were wowed and didn't even notice the graveyard (and pet cemetery!) outside - yes, you read that right, when you pull up you'll see that first. However, their staff was almost impossible to work with. Over the course of the 6 months we were under contract with them, there were at least 4 different points of contact, all operating under and communicating their own rules and regulations. They lost our contract and all financial information and tried to charge an extra $1000 when we went to pay (good thing I had printed copies of all previous contracts!!). The day of the wedding, they were dressed unprofessionally, INCREDIBLY passive aggressive with our planner AND guests, and refused to clean a bathroom that was disgusting (which meant two of my friends ended up cleaning it before the cocktail hour started!). After the wedding, they nickle and dimed us out of over half our deposit, charging crazy fees ($5 per bag of trash and $75 to take a few nails out of the wall that they approved). Although the space is gorgeous, I have a difficult time recommending the Barn at Evergreen Memorial Park until they grow in their professionalism. read more

The entire staff at the Evergreen Memorial Park were wonderful and professional. I would recommend them for both funeral services as well as other events. They really made the entire funeral planning process as low stress and pleasant as it can be. The entire service went smoothly and allowed me and my family to focus on saying goodbye to our loved one. Ronna, Rod, Tracey, Kelly, and Ron were all caring and extremely professional. I truly believe this entire staff cares deeply about what they do and about the community of Evergreen. The Barn Chapel was a beautiful location for a service and would make for an equally beautiful location for a wedding. The buffalo were visible right outside the windows the entire time and really made it special. read more

This review is specifically for The Barn at Evergreen Memorial Park. I went to look at it as a potential spot for my wedding reception next year. The directions given to me over the phone were very unhelpful, and it took me twice as long to get to the Barn as it should have. When I arrived, there were other people milling around outside who were supposed to have a tour and were locked out. Eventually, Anthony came by to unlock the barn, but was completely unaware that I had made an appointment to have a tour. My girlfriends and I decided to just tour it ourselves, and were pleasantly surprised by how much space it really does offer. Unfortunately, it is absolutely filthy, and the owners' philosophy on that is "it's a barn, not a palace" and "you can always clean it yourself". For what they charge to rent the place, THEY should be cleaning it! I was disgusted at the thought of having my guests eat dinner under an antler chandelier covered in cobwebs, spiders, and inch-thick dust. I was also unimpressed with the fact that there was a visible casket behind one of the doors on the ground floor. That is fine for a memorial service, but NOT for a wedding reception. Geez! The owner's philosophy on this was: "Well, we marry 'em and bury 'em here." Cute. Despite all of this, I would still have rented the Barn and figured out a way to get it cleaned myself because I loved how unique it was, but the owners were absolutely unwilling to budge on their price, even though they cost $400 more than another place that I looked at, which was full-service (set-up, clean-up, glassware, linens, flatware, a wedding coordinator). The owner was a total curmudgeon/a$$hole to my fiance when this was brought up. Screw this place. They don't care about getting your business or keeping their barn presentable at all. read more

Don't be fooled by appearances! It's a pretty location but that's about it. We recently had to use the barn for an event and it went anything but smooth. Truly, it's too long to even write all the details in this review but the basics are this: - There is zero flexibility, or idea of what people might need or want to do in order to make their event successful. - You would never guess they are trying to run a business when you ask to purchase extra time for set up and they won't let you (trust me, they are not that busy!) - Very poor communication. - Very unprofessional staff (especially the ones that stand guard at your event!) - Literally will nickel and dime you every second of the way for anything and everything. If you have gone over 10 minutes or someone arrives 10 minutes early then you better expect to pay dearly for it. - Carpet is dingy and the bathrooms were not very clean. - The 3 floor set up makes it difficult to have a proper serving area for food and it's a big pain for your guests to have to go up and down for everything. You will some good reviews here and I'm glad for those people that they had a good experience..must have caught someone on a good day. Just be prepared and know that it is highly likely that it won't go well...we sadly know that first hand. And so did our guests...90% of them were local and I know they won't be back..and hopefully will warn their friends and family to stay away too. read more

The other persons review is so opposite of what the barn venue is, my fiancee and I just went there this past weekend and it was absolutely beautiful!!! We will be getting married there next year and I am so excited! The owners are very friendly and what little Miss CA should have done was read the website first to know that it is always unlocked to go inside and they have a full brochure with all the details, plus it is very rude to not be understanding when someone is ill and there is also someone in the main office to help you with any questions (they did for me :) The Barn had so much sunlight and has been restored beautifully! If you are looking for a mountain setting and a rustic venue this is definitely the place to get married! As for the smell of mildew she was talking about, i have no clue. Everything was well kept and beautiful and could not be better! I am so excited to get married there next year! Go check it out for yourself, it is awesome! read more
