The worst..... Horrible. I was abused and treated like I was just luck to be there. Food was awful. Terrible, don't go there!

Medical visits are three-pronged: the actual visit and diagnosis, the admin/reception, billing…read more Acutal visit and diagnosis: really top-shelf. Five stars! Can't wait to come back! I mean truly. With a family history and an estimated 52% chance of getting breast cancer, I have been doing annual mammograms since 1995. In those years, I've had dozens of breast ultrasounds, MRIs, biopsies, mammos. The actual medical part of Rayus did feel like I was in the Four Seasons of breast care. The doctor spent a LOT of time walking me through why they were concerned about the two anomalies and even gave me her direct phone number and even was the person who called to review biopsy results. (spoiler alert: both biopsies were benign) Admin / part 1 scheduling: Mixed bag; 1 STAR. AVERAGE on-hold time was well over 20 minutes. One time I held for 25 minutes and then they hung up on me. :( Longest hold time was 38 minutes. Truly unethical, IMO. We aren't doing imaging for sport. We are doing imaging because we are searching for bad agents and/or something isn't in the right place and it is stressful and can you not pick up the phone? Good god. Was bad enough that that I DROVE (20 minutes each way) to the nearest Rayus and walked into the reception to book the appointment in person. Admin / part 2 referral bermuda triangle: 0 STARS. "the doctor didn't send the referral yet" seems to be a pat answer, followed by "call back in a week; doctors always say they sent the referral but they lie." Another pat answer. One Rayus rep went so far as to say "the referrals come in by fax; there's a pile on the floor, it takes us sometimes a week to sort through them all." (Are you F***ing kidding me? As a weird aside, I got a nearly identical answer 8 years prior when they kept "losing" or "not finding" the doctor's referral.) Again: I'm doing this because I have a family history of breast cancer. Must I also suffer through the indignity of knowing that my time-sensitive pre-auth form is relying on 100-year-old fax 'techonology' ? Billing: Wait, is Bernie Madoff your accountant? -17 STARS. I arrive for first breast MRI and receptionist informs me that my "copay" is $500 since I haven't met my deductible. Hmm. I'm not sure this is correct, but she's very concise: "If you don't pay up front, then you don't get the imaging done today." Oy. I asked who I'd contact to work this out, saying that I had already met my deductible. "Um, no, there's no one to contact. We don't give refunds." So then I return the following week and I'm given the exact same shpiel. This time I'm told that I need to pay $335 for my "copay" and, again, no money, no imaging. "You'll need to call to reschedule." Then they send me an invoice for $301, claiming on the invoice that I had paid them $0. Feeling desperate (because who has an extra thousand dollars laying around?) I call my insurance company. Who, thankfully, is appalled on my behalf. "Oh, no, no. You *never* prepay imaging. That's not part of our contract with Rayus." I'm on hold about an hour total. But the good news is that after the one hour with insurance, Rayus did refund me the $835 they 'overcharged' me (or stole from me, depending on how precious you are about word choice). Other good news is that the money was back in my account in about one week. That was one month ago. (cue Jaws music) Yesterday I got a Rayus invoice informing me that I stilllll owe them $301 and their invoice still shows that they have received $0 from me and $0 from my insurance, which is wildly incorrect. I think between the four visits and eight procedures insurance has already paid them a few thousand dollars. And, yes, I will owe 20% for the first $1,000 billed. But something's rotten in Denmark when the medical billing is that insanely incorrect. Weird p.s. to all this: I got frustrated that I could not find a billing phone number for Rayus and went down a rabbit hole or two and learned that Rayus is owned by a venture capital firm that has offices in NYC and West Palm Beach. Curiouser and curiouser.

I'm in some of the worst pain I've ever experienced in my life but she had me laughing on the phone and well on my way to scheduling an urgent MRI. I've been on a lot of medical calls in the last month, advocating so hard to move forward in treatment and testing. Most offices have made me feel like I'm swimming upstream. Liz went over and above to help me schedule, to provide information about the procedure, and to assure me that she'll do all she can to help. I'm shocked in the best possible way today - and I just want to say thank you. She really takes the cake! I have had nothing but INCREDIBLE experiences here. I've been in for two separate spinal MRIs and the front desk staff, the radiology techs, and the reports after have been thorough, professional, and incredible. I really love their open MRI and it was a great option for me. The radiology tech jammed with me to some classic rock and checked in frequently about positioning, how much time I had left, and made sure I was comfortable.

I think it's because some people will just pay it, without checking their EOB. Glad I knew right away something was off, as I wasn't expecting any medical bills as I've hit my annual out of pocket max. When I asked why I was billed despite there being no EOB from my insurance (I checked online, so it's not like it was in the mail), they said they hadn't heard back from my insurance and needed me to contact them! Nope, that's your job as an in network service provider. They didn't even try to say it was in error, so it makes me think they are just trying to get extra $.

I initially chose midwifery care because my sister-in-law said that midwives are supposed to be advocates for moms and tend to be more patient, empathetic and understanding, however that was NOT the case with Evergreen Midwifery. From my first appointment they were already pressuring me to cancel my OBGYN appointments even though I wanted to evaluate both before making a decision because they said "we can take better care of you" . Yet, at my 12-week appointment which was supposed to be a huge milestone, the midwife only let us hear the baby's heartbeat via a Doppler and said "everything's fine, see you at 16 weeks" and tried to send us home after a brief 15-minute appointment. I was confused as patients are typically offered NT scans at 12 weeks but the midwife refused, saying I "didn't need one". In the end I called my OBGYN who kindly squeezed me in for a last minute appointment and the ultrasound showed that the baby had a medical condition that needed urgent diagnosis and care. Evergreen Midwifery completely FAILED in their standard of care and could have put us in a very dangerous and precarious position given their negligence in offering a 12-week NT scan. They did not offer any sincere apology or follow-up for their horrible mistake even though the manager Kelly promised to call us back to review the case (Spoiler: She did not! They simply do not keep their promises.) We transferred care back to my OBGYN and have received much better care from ACTUAL trained medical experts and doctors there. If you're a first-time mom or just need greater peace of mind during your pregnancy, please PLEASE save yourself the anxiety, frustration and heartache by sticking with your OB practice instead. You will be glad you did.

I was the last appointment on a Friday afternoon and my visit included special accommodations, which unexpectedly doubled the length of my visit. They were very gracious about it and handled me very carefully, ensuring my utmost safety.

For my procedure, I was told I could either pay $200 up front and they would not bill insurance OR they would bill insurance, but if insurance did not pay then my cost would be $400. I asked if I could pay the $200 up front, have them bill insurance, and if insurance paid, they would then reimburse my $200. They refused. Their policy is to refuse to bill insurance if you pay the "discounted" cost up front. If you choose to have them bill insurance and if insurance then pays, they essentially get paid twice-- once from the patient and once from the insurance company-- and they keep both payments. Quite a system. Patient beware.

Asha at the ED desk was helpful, knowledgeable, and compassionate, and went above and beyond to try to get permission to try to help but ultimately couldn't because the order was accepted from a non-Swedish physician. It is unacceptable for an imaging facility that accepts urgent imaging to have unreliable hours. I have also NEVER EVER had a problem with anything financial related to any of my care over the last ten years. Evergreen Hospital is solid. I especially highly recommend the hospital doctors that saved my life when I suffered acute respiratory failure with hypoxia. Here are reviews of two doctors that really made a difference in my health. Very very impressed with both Dr. Young and Dr. Picazo, who both work in pulmonology critical care. I met them both at the end of my hospital stay after I had initially been admitted to the ICU during a frightening, truly life-or-death medical crisis. Both doctors were knowledgeable, professional, and clearly highly talented physicians. Despite their obvious expertise, what stood out most was how personable, compassionate, and down-to-earth they both were. Both doctors surprised me with how relatable they were. I felt relieved and comfortable asking questions during an extremely stressful time. I would recommend Evergreen Health to any and all looking for expert, compassionate and affordable care. He explained everything clearly, never made me feel rushed, and spent a generous amount of time discussing my care and concerns with me.
