I was the last appointment on a Friday afternoon and my visit included special accommodations, which unexpectedly doubled the length of my visit. I was not made to feel rushed and at every step of my exam, the technicians used language to clearly guide me through the process. They were very gracious about it and handled me very carefully, ensuring my utmost safety. read more

My physician ordered an MRI to address an issue. Insurance denied the request. My physician ordered an ultrasound instead. This was completed at Swedish Breast Center in Edmonds, and yet another physician evaluated the results and found it inconclusive. An MRI was strongly recommended. My physician finally convinced the insurance company to approve the MRI. Fast forward to 11/22/24 with an early afternoon MRI appointment at Seattle Radiology on Seattle's First Hill neighborhood. Scheduling was thorough and professional. Park in the parking garage adjacent to the Nordstrom Tower versus street parking. Payment is via QR code at the end, just follow the prompts. Likewise, this location is accessible via Metro Rapid Ride Route G along Madison. Seattle Radiology is located on the 9th floor. Check-in at the reception desk where ID and insurance coverage card will be requested. Other documents are reviewed, signed, dated via an adjacent screen. Additional paperwork will be provided via clipboard to be completed. Waiting area is clean with comfortable seating, has a calming aquarium, lots of natural light, and nice views. Unisex restroom is conveniently located nearby. Pro tips: shower but refrain from using any deodorant, lotions, makeup, fragrance. Eat sparingly, be hydrated. Use the restroom before the MRI appointment. My name was finally called, where I was brought back by an MRI technologist, completed & verified information, shown a locker area to change from street clothes to blue scrubs and lock up one's personal belongings. An IV line was started and flushed. This is where the contrast dye was injected. I was then situated appropriately just outside the MRI tube. An overview and an opportunity to ask questions was provided. A communication squeeze gadget was placed in one hand, warm blanket placed on me, and headphones placed over my ears. I was placed in the tube. I closed my eyes, focused on remaining calm and still as the testing commenced. Thankfully, the 45 minute session was completed in three increments without incident. I did not feel rushed or claustrophobic during my entire appointment. The technologist had a pleasant and professional demeanor. This was reassuring regarding their competency to oversee this MRI procedure. I am still awaiting the final results. However, from scheduling, check-in, and completing the MRI procedure, I had a positive experience at Seattle Radiology. read more

Positives: friendly front-desk staff, competent and kind technicians, reasonably easy to make appointments. Negative: outrageous billing practices. For my procedure, I was told I could either pay $200 up front and they would not bill insurance OR they would bill insurance, but if insurance did not pay then my cost would be $400. I asked if I could pay the $200 up front, have them bill insurance, and if insurance paid, they would then reimburse my $200. They refused. Their policy is to refuse to bill insurance if you pay the "discounted" cost up front. If you choose to have them bill insurance and if insurance then pays, they essentially get paid twice-- once from the patient and once from the insurance company-- and they keep both payments. The receptionist here was unnecessarily nasty to me when I came in for my appointment today and chastised me for not noticing the stylus and signing the check in paperwork with my finger on the touchscreen instead: "The stylus is literally right in front of you." I walked in to schedule an appointment for a CAT scan (referral)... not the norm these days. As a result I met Lisa in person, a master scheduler, who set me up with an appointment within 2 weeks. That appointment needed rescheduling, with appropriate notice and a thoughtful phone presence by Cody. I arrived a little early for my 11AM check-in and was greeted by Gisselle, the cheerful receptionist. Before 11, Jackie the tech had me walking back to the CAT scanning doughnut. They even had a little twirling mobile overhead for distraction/entertainment while looking up at the ceiling tiles as the bed/tray slid forward and back. The scheduling part was a little wonky, but the service and people were remarkably kind and thoughtful. I also appreciated the great views from the 9th floor and the large fish tank. read more

Front desk Jazmen was very kind and added my son to the list and also updated his insurance. She apologized for the appointment issue, and was very patient and friendly. She's amazing. We have been trying to pay for a November procedure, and it's now late May!!!!!! we have TWO insurances which weren't accepted, so we requested a 'self pay discount' which is common in medical services, because most providers give a deep discount to insurance payers but tend to charge individual patients MORE who must pay out of pocket! The procedure was prescribed by primary doctor and estimated to cost $150 but then the bill was $399. Many phone calls, many promises unfulfilled, the bill is going to a collection agency due to management's inability to process a simple, clear request in a timely fashion. Waste of time for them and for us! stressful! a poor way to conduct a business! we will avoid this practice for any radiology services we need! read more

My experience with Seattle Radiology has shown them to be not only medically negligent and wholly irresponsible toward patients, but also overbill to the extent they believe they can get away with. I'm hardly in the habit of reviewing medical providers, but this has been by far the worst ordeal I've experienced on a number of fronts. The matter started with a reasonable ~$300 quote from them for a chest CT, which was being done to determine progress on a medical condition (aortic wall thickening). Despite previous medical CTs and records provided to them and at their disposal, they failed to provide any analysis or comment on the condition. We had to pursue them to reexamine their work to get any result for which the procedure was performed in the first place. Had we not already known of the condition and followed up, they would've completely missed this vital issue. No explanation was ever given, and their attitude were as if they were doing us a favor by reexamining their oversight. The nature of their business practices was further revealed when instead of charging the initially quoted amount, we were billed for near $500, which they rationalized as the higher rate charged to insurance despite the indisputable fact this was being paid by us directly and not through insurance. I tried a number of calls to rectify this, was promised call-backs which never came, and kept getting jerked around until one supervisor finally admitted they can't be bothered to correct anything once it's been set. The overall conclusion here is that they evidently don't care about patients other than as people to milk for whatever $ possible. Again, I rarely complain about businesses, but this has been a bridge too far and hopefully this ordeal can serve as a cautionary tale for others. read more

When I called to make my appointment, the said they didn't have a referral from my PCP. After waiting on hold for 10 minutes, they finally found the referral and I made an appointment. On the day of the appointment, they called to say the machine wasn't working and I rescheduled. They told me that if the machine wasn't up and running, they would give me a call. I called later that day to confirm the appointment and that the machine was working and received confirmation on both counts. When I showed up for my rescheduled appointment, they didn't have any record of the appointment or the referral and I was told that the machine was still down. The massive incompetence was incredible. I've never experienced anything like it in my life. read more

A week after finding out I was pregnant, my doctor recommended I get an ultrasound to ensure the pregnancy was viable due to some complications I was having. Due to the emergent nature of the appointment they sent the referral to Seattle Radiology (who they normally don't work with). After my experience I now know why. The receptionist lacked common sense, understanding and empathy for my situation and it took her 45 min just to get the appointment scheduled. She gave me the wrong instructions to prepare for the appointment. The ultrasound technician who performed the ultrasound was rude and unprofessional. I'm unsure she even performed the ultrasound correctly because it was painful (unlike others I've had done). The Doctor who reviewed the images she took determined that there was no evidence of an embryo nor a heartbeat so they gave me the devastating news that I was having a miscarriage. Thank God my OB suggested I get a second opinion and had another ultrasound done at a different clinic and they told me my baby was totally healthy. I DO NOT recommend going here, as they were unable to demonstrate their ability to correctly practice medicine. I am so grateful that they got things wrong, but don't want anyone else to have to go through the trauma I endured. read more

I had a very good experience at Seattle Radiology! I had to get an MRI of my hip. The staff were excellent, and all through the MRI, the technician kept me informed as to the next segment, how long it would last, what to expect, etc. I was a little nervous, but the professionalism of the staff and their comforting manner were amazing. Like Sarah, office experience was good but billing said my claim was denied. I was in for x-rays ordered by my chiropractor. I have PIP through my auto insurance. Why they didn't bill my auto insurance is beyond me. I really like my chiropractor and went to her after another car accident and wound up getting billed by Seattle Radiology again instead of my PIP coverage. Tell your chiropractor not to use Seattle Radiology. read more

Just called to the cost of a MRI, the person at the front desk was short and impatient. They just lost a potential client.

I've had imaging done at this facility multiple times, mostly MRIs with a few plain films & CTs. Techs are great, as are schedulers, registration and med records staff. The radiologists also read films taken at other facilities. Reading/interpretation consistency has improved over the last year for my studies, so that the radiologists doing the reading are comparing results with past studies I've had done instead of just saying "no prior studies for comparison" (despite the fact that all my relevant prior studies are in the Swedish system & accessible.) As another reviewer mentioned, abnormal findings aren't necessarily mentioned. I had a C-spine CT done earlier this year and a prominent C5-C6 abnormality didn't even get noted as an incidental finding. While they have some really great people, their billing sucks. I received a "Final Notice" yesterday informing me that I have an outstanding account ($5.00) and my account is being referred to collections. While the service was done on 8/09, this is the *first* bill that I've received from them! I get in touch with their call center and after waiting for about 14 minutes, get to talk with a helpful woman who investigates. It seems that instead of sending out an earlier bill, they just me a text message that I owed them money. Gee, guess what - they sent their text to a land line so it never went through! Their own system says that the message never went through, but apparently that isn't relevant and they still consider it a "first bill." Given the rampant state of spam messages and identity theft, who on earth pays someone money based on a text message? (For those people who can actually get them, that is.) read more

One normally wouldn't think that dozing off during an MRI would be possible. I mean, there you are, inserted into a capsule like an astronaught from the 60s. You're not supposed to move a muscle, and you're lying there listening to loud bleeps and blips for like 25 minutes. Maybe it's due to not getting more than 4 hours uninterrupted sleep for two weeks due to agonizing sciatic pain from a herniated disc. But I gotta say, the folks at Seattle Radiologists made me so comfortable and at ease that by the last two sets of ... pictures?... I was hypnotized by the rhythms of the machine noise, my legs lifted with pillows under the knees, and a heated pad to lie on. When the technician radioed to let me know we were done, I experienced waking up. I seriously had dozed off. That's pretty fantastic, considering how nervous I was heading in. And out in the waiting room? Free Wi-Fi! Friendly staff. And an annoying old dude in the waiting room harassing us younger connected folk about "using yer cell phone." I'm pretty sure he isn't a part of the organization though. Use the parking structure on Madison just between Boylston and Minor--there's a driveway with a patient drop-off leading into it. Park on the 3rd floor and then head in to the inner elevators. Seattle Radiologists occupy the entire 9th floor. And don't fear. Unless you're easily embarrassed by the sound of your own snoring. ;) read more

The lady at the front desk was awesome and the guy who saw me for my appointment was very professional yet also very friendly and easy going. My insurance company led to me choosing these guys for my MRI - they don't charge a facility fee(?) so that keeps costs down for your insurer and you. Everyone I interacted with was great, from making the reservation on the phone to the staff that stuffed me into the big metal tube o' magnets. I was especially impressed by the gentleman that injected my shoulder joint with dye for the imaging - I think that was the most painless injection I've ever had, even two days later it wasn't sore! I haven't received the bill yet, but since I price shopped before the procedure, I was quoted a price that was lower than all but a few competitors. I had a pleasant experience with my MRI, and saved money too. BTW, it does pay to shop around for procedures like this, they are big money makers and some providers will jack up your bill with fees that are difficult to justify. I'm not sure if it's the airlines that copied the hospitals or vice-versa, but it's a veritable fee festival out there. My doctor recommended a different radiology clinic, but it would have cost me a lot more to go there - I have no doubt the patient care would have been good, but your costs aren't the first, second, or third thing your doctor is concerned about. read more

The staff I dealt with here was really nice. The injection I got was well done and not too painful. Picking up films and reports is a really quick, simple process that they don't charge for. Hooray! But... The results sucked. There were no measurements taken on CT (everything was just described as "neutral" which is untrue), and multiple problems were overlooked on MRI. Also, it took a lot longer than I'd expected... Some kind of warning would've been nice given my particular circumstances. It was billed incorrectly. I had to call and ask to have my insurance (listed on my insurance card and on the referral) billed instead of a different branch of the same insurance with which I was not affiliated at all. read more

Have been going to Seattle Radiology for over 12 years for injections in my lower back. Every injection I have received resulted in either no pain or greatly reduced pain for 6 months to a year. It's amazing what Kind of results are possible at Seattle Radiology. Dr. Feldman did my most recent injection a few months ago and afterwards I was waking up without the usual back pain and no feeling of tightness in the lower back. I actually played golf, was able to exercise more often without excruciating lower back pain. I felt normal. Have always found the techs and reception to be kind, professional and friendly. They do their best to make you comfortable, physically and emotionally. Often times they have been able to get me in quickly if need be. Seattle Radiology makes it possible for those with lumbar issues to have better quality of life. Am very grateful to them and will always recommend them highly. read more

Dr. V - and his technical assistant, S were as good as good can be. Considering the depth of the injection for the contrast study, their expertise was almost completely un-noticeable and pain-free! The team at Seattle Radiologists was absolutely amazing. Literally, the best experience I have ever had at a doctor's office. Professional, kind, friendly, and funny is a hard combination to find in the medical field, but they achieved it all. I had a CT scan scheduled for this morning at 8:30 am. Even though the office does not technically open until 8am, one employee by the name of McKenzie was kind enough to call me at 7:30 to save me a 45 min trip after finding out that their scan machine was down. She also went out of her way to re-schedule me at a convenient time. This kind of service is what I have consistently had at Seattle Radiologist. I will up date this reveiw after I get my CT read. My 9 month old son came in for X-Rays and I was impressed by the quick and friendly service from both the receptionists and the technicians. Even with the open and inviting waiting room I felt a sense of privacy as we discussed our personal information. The techs were great handling my infant son. They talked to him directly and entertained him while they took their images. He was very relaxed during our session which put me at ease. I was able to get our images on disk in just a few minutes and not the 30 minute time frame that is posted in the waiting area. I am grateful for such well trained staff. If we need their services again I'll be glad to stop in. read more
