We decided to try this dentist based on a recommendation. We went to Kids Dentistry in Renton the first time and totally hated it. My 2-year-old daughter couldn't have had a worse experience. This experience we got here was what I was hoping to get from the other place. Although my daughter was scared, she was calmed down by the assistants with toys and Netflix cartoons. The dentist was super gentle and I can tell she really cared about not traumatizing my daughter. I'd recommend this place for anyone who needs a kids dentist. read more

We brought out autistic five year old in for a check up and this place was amazing!!! The office is family friendly and clean, the front desk was helpful with making the appointment and scheduling. Tena is awesome, she was so kind and gentle with our daughter. Did things at her pace and made her feel safe, let her see and play with the tools. Awful experience! I wish I hadn't trusted the reviews, they pay customers for them. Bad hours, rude staff, long waits..huge mistake!

I made the mistake of trusting the good reviews of this office, which I found out later are coerced with $5 gift cards. The hours are terrible. For every appointment (and frequent broken wires) my son has had to miss class and his grades have suffered. If they offered later hours any weekday or were open friday, Saturday, or Sunday there wouldn't have been a problem, but as it was he missed so much more school than I was comfortable with. I understand the staff wanting three day weekends, but if you care about your kids grades, look elsewhere. read more

Took my son here for the first time and am impressed with their safety protocols and service. The office is located in a house and there is lots of parking. Dr. Daniel O'Brien & staff made my 16-month-old's first dental experience incredible! Not to mention the little things they do to make it the most kid friendly experience. The dental office is located in a historic Pope residence built in 1904 that has been completely renovated to modern standards and amenities. The grounds are beautifully landscaped with a large grassy front lawn which is unexpected and not often associated with a dental office. We rolled up to a long driveway and leading up to a large estate which was Dr O'Brien's dental office. The interior is beautifully appointed, clean, bright and kid-friendly. The waiting room is comfortable for parents and fun for kids. There are toys and books available for kids to keep busy and entertained. My son loved the kids table and the rocking horse. This office was created for children. Friendliness was shown by everyone we encountered. Dr. O'Brien has really created an office that kids look forward coming to. Most definitely a different experience for my son than the ones I remember as a kid. Highlights of our first visit: - Activity toys in the waiting room and in the patient room - Having our photo taken and printed for us as a keepsake - Dr O'Brien's and staff's friendly approach, taking their time to address all our questions and concerns and explaining in an easy to understand manner. We never felt rushed. - A thoughtful goody bag to take home and at the end of our appointment, our son got to choose a rubber ducky for being a good boy. After today's visit, we decided this will be our son's dentist until he is a teenager. One suggestion for the staff would be to not have front desk receptionists interrupt and come into the patient rooms while patients/parents are in session. Insurance and other administrative tasks can be discussed after appointments. Other than the interruption, everything else was perfect. read more

After seeing 2 different dentists, prior to seeing Dr. O'brien for my toddler who possibly needed a tooth extraction, we almost chose the 2nd dentist and even scheduled a procedure date, but once we met Dr. O'brien and seeing how his staff took care of our son, by actually checking his teeth, doing a little brushing, and explaining options, as well as giving more information when it came to anesthesia, and his opinion and experience...it gave us a better understanding of what should or needs to be done, whether we decided to go forth with an extraction or not..it was very helpful to us... Even on the day of our son's procedure, Dr. O'brien actually came out to let me know that he wanted to do another X-ray, free of charge, just to see again if there was a way to save my son's tooth, however, unfortunately, he couldn't, but I thought it was nice he still wanted to do every possible option before actually proceeding. The one drawback that I had was the fact that the financial coordinator would come in the middle of my son's exam--TWICE when we hadn't even finished talking with Dr. O'brien or even really made a decision yet considering this appointment was kind of a 3rd referral--to get an opinion. She came wanting to get a copy of my insurance card to see what our dental coverage is to give us an estimate, and another time was to talk to Dr. O'brien about CPT & ICD-9 codes (which are procedure and diagnosis codes)...i was annoyed since I worked in the medical field and just knowing that she had the nerve to talk about the codes in the middle of my son's appointment when we hadn't even decided that we wanted Dr. O'brien to even do the extraction was a bit unprofessional and could've waited until AFTER my son's appointment was over. then when we actually went to talk to the financial coordinator about scheduling...the way she went on about the office and Dr. O'brien was sort of like she was pitching a sale, and it didn't seem sincere which really annoyed me, even though my husband and I already felt comfortable with Dr. O'brien to be our son's dentist, and we had already like the atmosphere of the office and other staff members. I referred a friend to this office for her daughter, and she felt the same way I feel about the financial coordinator. Overall the office great..but I think they need to have the financial coordinator work on her office etiquette. read more

My son just turned 6 at the end of March. Both of my sons, 6 & 16, have been seen at this location for a couple of years. The service, initially, was superior (Dr O'Brien was AMAZING!). I brought my 6 year old in for a checkup and cleaning on May 29, 2019. The environment was different and awkward. I waited over 5 minutes at the front desk before I went around the counter to request service to be "checked in". Few smiles and most people seemed unknowledgeable, pensive, under duress and unfriendly. On the upside, the amazing dental assistant was able to FINALLY get my sons anxiety under control and obtain X-Rays. It was determined he needed fillings. We discussed the options and Dr. Pham suggested my son get General Anesthesia vs Nitrous Oxide to complete the process and fill his cavities. I took my son to be seen by his pediatrician on 6/5/19 to complete the paperwork and clearance to receive General Anesthesia. I received a call on 6/11/19 requesting the paperwork from his pediatrician. I kindly sent it via email. I was advised by the dental office and via the paperwork I received, of the upfront cost of anesthesia at the rate of $600 per hour to be paid upfront and that they would assist in the reimbursement of my claim through my dental and medical insurance. I emailed Dr. Andrea Fonner (and Cc'd the dental office) with no less than 2 emails asking for a quote on what was needed upfront ($$) on the day-of-service for his fillings. His "procedure for fillings" is in less than 2 business days and I have received no response from Dr. Andrea Fonner. I, again, faxed the paperwork on 6/11/19 and also emailed the paperwork to the address provided on their website (both O'Briens Children's Dentistry and EverGrins email) with the requested information. I received a call from Cassandra on 6/13/2019 at 3:45pm with a message (I saved the voicemail) stating they had not received the paperwork that was needed and asked if I could send it to her PERSONAL email addresses or fax it in. They also asked if I could bring my son in at 7am instead of 9:10am because the first patient canceled. At this point I am annoyed that I have been ignored and received NO response from the dental office nor the anesthesiologist regarding the amount needed, upfront, for his procedure in 2-3 days. Considering I work in the medical field, I declined to send my sons personal health information to a PRIVATE and PERSONAL email account and canceled his appointment. I immediately found a new pediatric dentist that could see my son and requested (via fax) that they send, BOTH, of my sons documentation to the new pediatric dentist. I called this afternoon, 6/14/2019, asking for a call back to help facilitate the transfer of medical records and received NO call back. My 6 year old is now complaining that his tooth hurts. So, they can contact me to have my son come in earlier but have been unresponsive to me and the new dental office for his records? I will be reporting this office/"Dr. Pham" to the medical board as this is negligence and malpractice. And Dr. Andrea Fonner, don't ask me for $600-$1300 upfront without contacting me. I don't pay people to ignore me or my sons healthcare. #negligent read more

Beyond ecstatic with the care my daughter received at her first appointment with Dr Huynh. My daughter is 8 and due to being extremely anxious and uncooperative she had never been able to have a full checkup let alone xrays. She hadn't been to a dentist since she was 5 and I was so nervous taking her, not knowing how she would be. As expected she was very nervous and apprehensive, but the dental assistant and Dr Huynh was so patient, caring and absolutely awesome with her! So thankful!!! My daughter has some cavities that will need to be addressed but we have a plan for them. My daughter was so excited after we left, she was still talking today about how great her dentist is and how much she liked her appointment. Couldn't be happier! read more

Dr. O'Brien and his team have taken outstanding care of my oral health for over 15 years! They are honest and straightforward with me (and my parents when I was young). Whenever I needed recommendations for needs beyond their scope (ex. wisdom teeth removal and more) they sent me to outstanding doctors who held the same high standards as Dr. O'Brien. He and his team also seamlessly picked up my orthodontic work after my first orthodontist took mine off to soon and left me as "done". His drive for perfection with my teeth has given me a smile I am always complemented on! I have two autistic children, so their dental needs differ from your neurotypical child. The staff at Obrien's dental are very compassionate and I would recommend their office to anyone seeking pediatric dentistry. Dr. Seetin is amazing and the young lady in the office area (I think her name is Chantelle) is professional, and great to work with. My kids require sedation dentistry and that was not an issue here, in fact we were the only ones there for the first couple hours! Dr. Seetin understand the need for sedation but more importantly understands that we should be working towards not requiring sedation suggested bringing the kids by now and then just to let them get used to the staff and office. Dr O'Brien might be wonderful, can't judge as we did not get to see him., His office is terrible though. I set up an appointment, gave them all out information, including the insurance. They made sure I pull all the forms off their website (they did not mail them to me) and dutifully filled them in. I pulled my daughter out of school, and when we got to the office, they told us they do not take our insurance. My dentist, Dr. Jana Raisler, referred me to Dr. O'Brien when I was looking for a dentist for my children. He is WONDERFUL! He has a great reputation in the South End and he keeps up with all the progressive technology. For example, both my children wear night guides, which is a rubber device they wear in their mouths at night to straighten their teeth as their baby teeth fall out and their permanent teeth come in. Not all dentists work with the night guide, and we're very fortunate that Dr. O'Brien does, because it is half the cost of braces, and our children are growing up with straight teeth, which really helps with their self-esteem and confidence. If you are looking for a wonderful children's dentist, I highly recommend Dr. O'Brien. His office is really cute (it looks like a Victorian house), but inside it is definitely high tech. The waiting room has a TV for the kids and a carousel horse. He gives wooden nickels out to reward the children for being on time, bringing their night guide, wearing it regularly, etc., and they can turn in their wooden nickels for prizes. (My kids are saving theirs up to turn them in for a $25 Toys R Us gift certificate!) Also, at the end of each appointment they get a token to put in the little vending machine and get a little reward. It's a great place for kids. read more
