I was having a hard time finding a high quality dentist to do extensive dental work on my kid, until we came here. All dentists and doctors here are board certified - they are the best of the best! You can tell immediately from the front desk to the dental assistants to the doctors themselves that they care about providing quality service. I was super nervous about my child going under anesthesia but the whole experience went smoothly because of how knowledgeable, friendly & supportive the staff were, including the anesthesiologists (also board certified). The staff talked us through everything and updated us along the way which made all the difference! We were also given some options for treatment approaches mid way through the procedure which was appreciated (other offices don't do this & have flat out told me that there are no "options" once under GA). Super grateful for this dental office. Highly recommend. Also, if it helps anyone decide - we are a family of color under state insurance and were treated amazingly. If You're Black, Stay Away!!! these people are Unprofessional and Racially Biased I brought my son to Renton Kids Dentistry on Maple Valley on January 16, expecting to see his regular dentist. The dentist didn't greet us, had no knowledge of his care, and didn't address my request for continuity. Instead of calling me to resolve it, they sent a letter banning us from returning. Renton Kids Dentistry was recommended to me by a friend - she said she loved the experience that her daughter had there prior to their 2 year old check up. My daughter needed her 2 year check up and Bellevue was practically all booked out until October. So I decided to call and schedule an appointment. I got an appointment date within a week. On the day of the appointment, my GPS said it would take 25 minutes to get from Bellevue to Renton. I was annoyed at myself for booking an appointment with such a driving distance but In hindsight, not even sure why because our experience at Renton Kids Dentistry was wonderful!!! With Covid, they are extra careful. Temp scans, hand sanitizer, splash guards, everyone wearing face masks. The staff are nice, dental assistant Giem was so sweet and patient. Dr Alegre was superb. Before coming in, she pulled down her mask from out in the corridor to show my daughter her beaming smile and to create trust. She was gentle and kind to my daughter. We got lost getting there and during the longer than usual ride my 5 yr old kept saying that she didn't want the Dentist to look at her teeth. My daughter has been coming here from day one. She is now 10. Everyone here is very kind and gentle. When my daughter was very small she required a gum surgery. This place was pretty amazing. Took my son in for some x-rays, some of the staff didn't really seem to know how to work with or encourage more difficult children which was a bit of a bummer, but the dentist was very good with him and knew exactly what she was doing. In the face of traumatizing my kid for some x-rays, the next move was to schedule a time they'd do the dental work and x-rays after he was anesthetized. The anesthesiologist was very kind and informative, after the procedure there was a super kind and helpful nurse that helped me and my son work through the very difficult anesthesia awakening. I was looking for a dentist for my 2-year-old and decided to try this one based on the reviews I read. I even called to see how they handle a child who would be seeing a dentist for the first time. I thought it sounded reasonable. I couldn't have been more wrong. I did not like my experience here at all. None of those positive reviews I read equated to what I went through. This place is great, and take that from a mom with very high standards in care! I found this place while looking for a THIRD opinion on dental treatments for my child after having frustrating experiences not getting clear information on what he needed and what our choices were. I'm a big believer in informed consent, and in order to have true informed consent with any medical or dental treatment you first need information! I'm alllll about that! When we came here I could tell they are a very professional and value and respect their patients. After a little hiccup in the line of communication at the beginning (the person who did our consultation, while very good, was not the regular dentist, so things got a little confused. I admit this was my fault bc I don't know all the terminology and thought baby root canal was more akin to an adult one-which isn't the case.) Anyway the practicing dentist, Dr. Alegre made sure we had clear information and that I was comfortable with proceeding. And I'm so glad we stayed bc she was AMAZING! She not only clearly knows what she's doing, but is really great with kids. My five year old got crowns put in, and a couple other things done (over a few spread out treatments) and she worked amazingly well with my shy child. She explained everything in kids terms and cheered him on so that he felt confident and comfortable. I have to admit I was really nervous he might need GA but I think his temperament in combination with the doctor's enthusiasm made it so that everything went exceptionally smooth and everyone finished happy and healthy! They lost my business, Had good hopes this would be a good dentist for my child. Gave them a chance of 2 visits. The dentist has a 'cold' demeanor. Would not allow both us parents to accompany our child in due to 'COVID policy' further more asked other parent to wait outside building not in waiting room. But when it came to collecting the money it was fine for me to be in waiting room. Expensive! services are 30-40% higher than other local dentists. Staff do not seem well versed in their training and knowledge base. It took 10 min to give me a itemization of and explanation charges. My son was having an off day so I know it was pretty frustrating but they were patient w/ my son. He's 4 & getting his X-ray was challenging. Dr. Allegra was amazing as always.
