My mother has dementia, the tech knows this. I usually always go with her, but could not as we moved out to the fraser valley. I booked the appt (reg pedicure), had a family member take her, pick out a colour from the wall, and get her settled. The tech took advantage of a vulnerable senior, who is not able to make choices or decisions that she fully understands, and the tech "talked" her into upgrading to a gel pedicure. I am appalled at this. She completely took advantage of my poor mom. As well, the nail colour is actually two colours, it looks like she just tried to paint over the regular nail polish or something. My mothers toe polish looks terrible. I cannot believe that they elected to "upgrade" their service which meant more money for the salon at the expense of my vulnerable mom. They have lost two clients that have been with them for almost 8 years. Now, I know this will probably not change anyone's mind of going to this salon for their nails, but, I think that everyone should be aware of the very shady employees that are in this establishment. Shame on them for this.

Staff was efficient and thorough with the pedicure. Relaxing music was playing in the background. I sat in the massage chair the whole time with the chair massaging my back. Place was clean! It looked like staff had clean nail utensils for each client. Price was very reasonable for $35. I paid $10 extra for a paraffin treatment. The staff wrapped each foot in a bag filled with wax. I appreciate how sanitary that was. I have been to places where there is a pot of warm wax that multiple clients dip their hands and feet in. My only complaint is that staff were busy talking amongst themselves in Vietnamese even when they were working on clients. I know it makes passing the time faster, but it would have been more professional to not socialize in a different language in front of customers. I personally do not care too much as long as I get my nails done and not catch an infection.
