Since it was not very crowded it was easy to get things done. Based on the location it probably does not get crowded. They have 3 squat racks. On their basketball court they have plenty of balls sitting out. Some of the LA Fitness/Esporta locations do not have balls.

Supposedly it was to be up and running again in November, then March, then April, and now there is NO projected future date for its return to operation. Most recently, there has not been anyone at the front desk to answer questions or provide any information. On the few occasions I have found someone to ask about the pool, it's usually a rather blank "oh well, we don't know when it will be open again" response. I have attended two other LA Fitness locations in the area. One, at Scottsdale and Shea, was a fabulous place. It closed with no explanation two years ago. Then I started going to the Scottsdale/McDowell Road gym. Likewise, a fine facility, and it will be closing permanently on May 11th. That leaves one LA Fitness facility within reach, at Rio Salado Parkway. It seems that most of the better gyms are in FAR North Scottsdale, 15-20 miles away, and not much near Old Town at all. It is unfortunate that so many "brick and mortar" facilities are closing left and right, but I guess it's a sign of the times, sorry to say.

There has very consistently not been hot water and that's a big problem to have at a gym. I have not had a good experience with personal training either. I purchased eight sessions during the 2024 holidays. My first trainer was somewhat knowledgeable and then completely unavailable to answer questions or provide clarification. When I approached his supervisor requesting to change trainers, he suddenly appeared again wanting to schedule again. I went back and forth with the supervisor who finally matched me up with another trainer. This one was responsive and helpful but when I recently tried to schedule the last of my sessions, I was told they expired. This was extra frustrating because I lost several weeks trying to get in touch with that first trainer. And I got the standard corporate line of "there's nothing we can do." Absolutely terrible customer service. I take spin classes here and that's another area of neglect. Bikes are consistently broken, the spin room overhead lights randomly come on in the middle of class and there's a glitchy speaker wire that cuts out during class often. Recently, the heat came on during class and the front desk told us "these nothing we can do." It was a really humid day, the mirrors were fogging up and people were complaining of dizziness because it was so warm. I stay here because the location could not be more convenient and I've developed a nice community of friends here but I would absolutely not recommend this gym to anyone. They do not care and it consistently shows.

My complaints are there are ALOT of stairs and navigating that with r he parking kinda far. I will say it's annoying to get your stuff or to make a quick run to the car. Also the unit we were in 1204 had the worse AC ever with a song that said not to lower it bc it would cause the unit to freeze. Like maybe this needs to be upgraded bc it was hot af in there.
