I started at Core Fitness on June 24th of this year. At 42 years old, I was tired of being tired and saw one of Cory's ads on FB. I signed up online. Weighed in at 213. Cory and his team of coaches rallied me through 6 weeks of fitness, nutrition and accountability. It was tough, but so worth it. 6 weeks later, August 5th I weighed in and beat my goal of losing 25 pounds. I weighed in at 186.9. I lost 26.1 pounds in 6 weeks. Kyle, Charlotte and Mikey are great coaches and make sure that anyone at any level gets the workout necessary to get you in shape. In six weeks I went from a 36" to 32" waist. And for the first time since college, I now wear a medium size t-shirt. This place is the real deal. I would and will recommend it to anyone. Accountability is key. I have been living out of state for nearly 5 years and have finally come back home!!! One of the first things I did was contact Cory. I previously have worked out with Cory for many years and really enjoy his approach. He understands the body (I do have some injuries that do require some exercise modification), the is passionate about fitness, motivates, challenges, and really cares about his clients and their successes (and struggles...Lord knows I have had some). I have worked out with him one on one and in the group setting. The gym environment is welcoming and friendly. I am not a fan of the large format gyms and like the homey, boutique feel of this space. I came to my first class today, since returning to Arizona, and it was great! It was a full class with other clients that were welcoming. The instructor, Mikey, was energetic, engaged, and really kept the energy up. He continually walked around to be sure everyone was performing properly at each station. For those of you that have ever been to other types of circuit training, I am sure you have seen instructors that will literally stand in the front of the room and don't bother to go around and correct people when they are doing an exercise wrong. Doing an exercise incorrect is what causes injury, and I could definitely see that Mikey has been through Cory's training and is a true brand ambassador of Core Fitness. I have worked with several trainers in other states, and really didn't find the same quality that I find with Core Fitness. I called about them taking the 1st 24 women to call in, would get a "chance of a lifetime!" They were offering free boot camp and swore they would change our lives forever. I called in to sign up, but left a message. Cory called me back. When we talked about the program, he explained how we were going to get those old muscles remembering what they're supposed to do. Then he said that I needed to make an appointment, so he could see and calculate some numbers on me and sign the contract. I asked what kind of contract? He, then, let me know, for me to get free boot camp, I had to become a member of their fitness center for 1 year. So, in other words, NOT FREE. read more

First of all I want to say that these guys are phenomenally talented at what they do. If you're unsure about starting a new fitness routine with a personal trainer, I strongly suggest you try out these guys at CORE Fitness; you will not be disappointed. I've trained with many private personal fitness trainers in the past, and was often left disappointed and frustrated. CORE Fitness is definitely a very different atmosphere that made me enjoy working out. I immediately felt the positive energy the very first time I stepped into the studio! They will help you achieve your goals very quickly! - assuming you do your part as a client, of course! My trainer (Spencer) is a very patient and kind man. He made an effort to go the extra mile and guide me through the workout routines in a way that I always understood. He never hesitated to re-explain himself if I was ever unsure. Even though I had my moments (like being stubborn or late showing up to my sessions!) he never lost his cool and was always a gentleman about it. Look I went to these guys two years ago. I was searching for a place to get back in shape and get motivated about my health. I met with Alex, a personal trainer at Core. He showed me some simple thing so could do that will not hurt me or bring further stress into my life. 2 years later, it took me that long yes, part of it was all negativity from failed workouts beforehand. It's been two weeks and I love the boot camp I'm in. I'm doing things that I thought I wouldn't be able to do otherwise, being ex collegiate athlete in the football arena. I was actually looking for a place that I could work out and feel comfortable since I haven't worked out in years. We stopped by on a Saturday morning and talked to Cory. My husband was so impressed that he decided that Core Fitness would be a good place for him too. Corey gave us some choices that he thought would work well for us. No pressure and no long term contracts to sign! We asked if we could have private sessions with both of us at the same time. We knew that both of us going at the same time would be good motivation! I love the flexibility of being able to text and set up our times and dates. Working out and feeling better was our main goal. We both look forward to our workouts with Marc. He shares tips and stories during the hour workout and always makes it fun and interesting. Even though my husband and I work out at the same time the workout is personalized for each of us. This may be my first review ever written on Yelp and it's well deserved. Today I complete the last day of my 6 week challenge. With Cory's guidance I have: Lost 21lb Lost 6.8% body fat Gone down 2 pant sizes Put on more muscle than I can measure. This program finally got me where years of trying on my own could not. The 6 week challenge created the incentive, commitment, and resources to get past the curve balls that threw me off in all my past attempts. It was hard, it took a lot to do, and it really worked. Core fitness is small studio gym with group classes and personal training sessions. What I love about Core fitness is that it is never, ever crowded (group classes cap at 5 people), and you get a lot of personal attention for the trainers. I'm a bit self-conscious (I think everyone trying to lose weight is!) so it's great to know there aren't people looking at you or anyone intimidating around. The trainers are kind, knowledgeable, helpful, and never pressure you to do anything you're not comfortable with. They are willing to work with your schedule and have lots of different programs and specials. 5 stars! read more

Cory is a great guy and a great fitness instructor. He really cares about his clients and works to modify any exercise as needed. I attended daily group 'boot camp' classes and loved every one. There are so many different time options you are bound to find one that fits your schedule. The gym has an intimate vibe and is full of positive energy. Don't be fooled by 'boot' camp, its more of a circuit where you work to your level at each station. I definitely recommend Cory and Core Fitness! read more

Corey is amazing, He cares, he is knowledgable and very well trained. Always encouraging and cares enough to call and check on me to see if i am keeping up with the program. Corey gives great advise, loves what he does and will very carefully detail a program that is rite for you. I was very sore at first and wasnt very excited about continuing. But Corey always has a way of showing up at the rite time and encouraging me to keep going. Nobody has ever taken the care with my needs as Corey has. Your the Best Corey!!
